The workers moved my heavy furniture and worked quickly and efficiently. I took a nap while they were working and when I woke up the carpeting was down and all the furniture was back perfectly placed. They deserve zero stars ... ordered a carpet and paid for it the same day. Weeks passed and I heard nothing. They can't locate the order then they say it wasn't paid for and carpet can't be fabricated until paid for. And some other nonsense about changing card processors and and they can't keep card info for more than two weeks. Don't spend your hard-earned money on these folks. read more

Buying a new kitchen floor isn't something one does often! Materials change, and it's hard to know the best product for one's needs. We went to DeSitter on the recommendation of a friend. Karen was very helpful, showing us several suggestions which we were able to take home to evaluate. Long story short, our installation went well, very quickly and professionally done. A couple of cosmetic flaws in the materials were detected after the fact. The resolution is in progress (awaiting arrival of replacement materials), but I have every confidence it will be resolved to our satisfaction. Added bonus: the price was much less than expected! My experience with DeSitter was very disappointing. When we started working with our salesperson, Kevin, we were very clear and upfront that we were working on a tight deadline for having our floors sanded & refinished because we had a month between closing on our home and moving in. Kevin assured us with confidence that they were able to accommodate the job and get it done before move-in, however, two weeks before we moved in (after us calling and trying to follow up and get the work scheduled almost daily), they changed their tune and said the work wouldn't be able to be started until the week after we moved in. I felt like they knew that from the start and lied in order to try and get and retain our business. Very shady people with poor customer service, they weren't even apologetic. Luckily, we were able to shop around and had our floors finished by a smaller company who did amazing work and at a better price. If you are considering this company, you should shop around, you will find much more accommodating companies who do beautiful work and better prices! read more

Recently, I had my bedroom hardwood floors refinished and woodwork replaced. They did an awesome job, showed up on time, paid a lot of attention to detail, moved my furniture around as needed, and everything was very professional. They also previously installed some vinyl tile in my basement, again, a fabulous job. The workmen and salesmen are all first rate. You will pay a little more, but they are worth it! read more

I needed carpeting replaced on the staircase and bedrooms in my home. I contacted a couple different flooring installers (Luna and Empire) and got price estimates. After reading other reviews for Luna and Empire and hearing about how others were pressured to sign a contract, I deceided to contact Desitter. I went to Desitter's website and filled out a form for an estimate. It was a Monday night, and I recieved a response in less than 15 miniutes. Ken came out and looked at the staircase and bedrooms. After talking with him for a while, he recommended a stain resistant carpet from Karastan made for pet owners. During the installation they were very polite and professional. It only took a day and a half from start to finish. They were efficient and did an excellent job. Overall, it was a great experience. Ken brought a lot of expertise and was easy to work with. Selecting a new carpet can be a little overwhelming -- choosing the color that you'll like for the lifetime of the carpet, choosing a durable material/pattern/weave, etc. DeSitter helped us through this process by providing samples, making recommendations, and by keeping us informed the entire time. Worked with Tim Kelliher at the LaGrange location. Tim was terrific, in all sense of the word. He helped with selection, pros and cons of different types of carpet, and education on the product. I had stairs and a hallway completed. The product came in on time and install was less than a week later. Robert and his team of installers laid out the design beforehand and walked me through the options I had (wood exposure on each side, etc). Install looks fantastic. I am surprised by the rave reviews (but not by the "not recommended" reviews that do not immediately show up). After my experience, it did seem like they were not interested in our business, which is fine, however why not tell us that right from the start? We spoke with sales staff about carpeting a foyer staircase. They had a great selection and we had trouble deciding. After looking at some samples of special order carpet, the salesperson encouraged us to get larger samples to take home, which she said would take two days. A week later I called her and left a message to follow up and asked for a return call. Four days later, with no return call, I called again. She had no explanation for not returning my call but did say she checked on the sample order and was told it was on back order to arrive in a few days. Another week later, nothing. No one even called to ask for the sample boards we took home. I'd much rather hear "sorry, we don't do small carpeting jobs" than to waste weeks figuring that out on my own. read more

I recently purchased a stair runner. At first I wasn't sure I wanted to order it because the rug I selected was very pricy and I have never had a stair runner before. I am very happy that I got it! Karen was our sales person. She has very good taste and helped me select the type of runner and the layout. She was very responsive to my emails and phone calls. The installers were also very professional and hard working - they worked for 5 hours straight without any breaks. i was looking for floors went to luna was not impressed so looked up flooring in my area de sitter was voted number one for customer service well i will tell you my story. i went into de sitter flooring in la grange for my condo which was last year in june they were very nice installed my floor within a week or two which cost me 12,000.00 dollars they did it very fast well then started my headaches and have had nothing but problems since am sooooooooooo dissapointed im appalled i have had nothing but aggravation with them i said earlier it was june last year it will b two years ago after they installed it it is a floating floor so they had told me that with a floating floor it would give so after i walked around for a month or two it felt i was walking on soft wood it was terrible everytime i walked past my china cabinet it felt like my china was going to fall out and then everywhere on the floor was terrible getting worse and worse then i was cleaning one day the floor started to buckle so i was livid called desitter and they had a inspector come in to inspect the floor they took forever to come up with and answer that their product manager who is no longer working there made a huge error with my underlayment of my floor so after months of them inspecting and having meetings not calling me back it took months for them to replace my floor they thru my furniture in a bedroom that they carpeted terrible when they finnally replaced my floor which took months of aggravation and very much inconvenience for me they did replace the floor after a month that they replaced my floor i put a round rug in two places in my dining area and my front room now im beside myself the floor underneath the rug is lighter then the other i have to big circles in my floor i am livid desiiter told me to move my rugs around cause all floors changes colors how sad with a 12000.00 dollar floor after a month im beside my self they are horrible and i am livid i will let everyone know about them since they did me soooooo wrong now im stuck with this floor for 12000.00 its horrible how sad of a company i would not refer them to anybody and will let everybody know what they did to me very dissatisfied how horrible they are marilyn k. read more

Went in one day to look at products. Had our room measured a couple days later, then a couple weeks later we finally get a quote for installation, but nothing about cost of product.
