I would not recommend or ever use desitter again. They left sanding marks on the floor and did a horrible job putting on our polyurethane and had to come back to redo it. In addition, the threshold they used to transition from one room to the other was very poorly done. They did an unacceptable job! Stay away. read more

They ordered too little flooring and told me it would be 5 days before the needed flooring would be available. I was supposed to live with a 1/2 done kitchen floor and green glue for 5 days. I insisted the flooring be overnighted and it was. The installer left glue residue on adjoining floors. By Desitter's own personnel they gave the installer a C-. The promised repair to the floor trim has never been. done. How could my job be so poor compared to other reviews? nobody from DeSitter has called to fix what they left undone. read more

We were so impressed by DeSitter's customer service! The carpet we ordered turned out to be flawed. Although it was marketed specifically as good for homes with pets, stains couldn't be cleaned. When we tried, we ended up with an even darker stain. DeSitter sent the cleaners they use to try to clean it, at no cost. The cleaners couldn't spot-clean it either. They were so perplexed that Steve DeSitter himself came out to look at it. Everyone agreed that this carpet was a lemon. DeSitter asked the manufacturer to replace it. The manufacturer refused. The cleaning problem kept recurring. So DeSitter contacted the manufacturer again to challenge their decision - and this time the manufacturer agreed to replace it! DeSitter sent their excellent installers to remove the flawed carpet and install the new one. We've had no pet accidents yet, but our fingers are crossed. They also gave me a $50 gift certificate. I can't imagine a big box retailer sticking with a problem like this. I will for sure use DeSitter next time we need flooring or carpet! read more

DeSitter installed Luxury Vinyl Planks (LVP) throughout my condo. It looks beautiful and I am so happy with the floor. But DeSitter's follow up to an installation issue has been VERY poor. I paid them in full and now I can't even get a call back about a problem with a door striking and damaging a transition. I notified them of this within a week of installation so there was no delay on my part. DeSitter guarantees customer satisfaction. But that has been an empty promise for me. read more

The salesperson Damien at Desitter Flooring was very nice and responsive to my phone calls and emails regarding a quote for two rooms of engineered flooring in my condo. Desitter's installer came to my condo and stated he usually works with a partner, but it was just going to be him for the removal of the carpeting and the install of my new engineered wood flooring. I was originally quoted it would be a 2 day job, and it turned into 4 days because I did not have both installers on my project. At the end of the project, we calculated there was a surplus of roughly 20% more materials ordered by DeSitter for my project than needed (industry average is between 5-10% extra material ordered for a project). Keep in mind, I was told there MUST be a professional measurement taken by DeSitter to ensure the proper amount of materials are ordered for the project. Either the rooms were incorrectly measured by DeSitter or my estimate was padded with extra material to drive up my bill. Either way, it was very costly to me. After the project was completed, the installer took some of the unused materials we paid for with him and left the unopened boxes of flooring behind. When I reached out to Desitter regarding the large amount of surplus that was ordered after they sent out a person to specifically measure the rooms, I was told they would not take back the unopen boxes of flooring or other materials for a refund, even if I drove the boxes to their showroom for a refund or credit. I was disappointed that DeSitter sent out a person to measure so they could order an appropriate amount of flooring, insulation, trim, etc. and all materials listed were ordered in great surplus (roughly $1,000.00 worth of extra materials and the installer took with him all the surplus materials I purchased except for the unopen boxes of flooring). At the end of the day, I was charged over $1,000.00 in extra materials on the estimate written by DeSitter after they measured the rooms and I have no need for the materials. The other surplus materials I paid for were taken away by the installer (some packages never opened) so I don't even have the other necessary materials to assist in installing more flooring somewhere else in the condo. It's a disappointing and costly situation for me with DeSitter. read more

Let me start by giving my last experience with a flooring company. I purchased carpet with Great Western Flooring (through Costco.) After the carpet was installed, my cats soiled an area that I then asked Great Western to help with. I was hoping that they would do a courtesy visit, as it had only been a couple of months, but they charged me $400. I was OK with paying them for the work and materials, but they did not repair the carpet correctly and they refused to refund or re-repair the spot. They even did not leave the leftover product for me to use in the future. Very disappointing. Now for DeSitter. The carpet I had selected for my stairs was not appropriate for high-traffic areas. Because an ex-employee recommended it to us, they took ownership and handled the entire warranty process on my behalf. They communicated the progress and ensured that the carpet company would accept the replacement. Kudos to Tracy, Alicia, and Tim. These guys should be given a bonus for the effort they put into making sure I was happy. You can be assured that they have earned a lifetime customer and I will recommend them to anyone who asks. I would give them 10 stars if I could. You simply cannot find any flooring companies this customer focused anymore. read more

Went to DeSitter based on the recommendation of our construction company to replace the floors in our basement for a remodel and we couldn't be happier! Hana was great to work with, showed us a lot of great options and actually understood mine (and my wife's) taste right away! I stopped in this place recently after visiting several other places trying to match new flooring to existing flooring. They had a product that was almost an exact match to my existing flooring so I ended up purchasing from them. They have a very nice showroom with a lot of different flooring options on display: carpeting, real wood, laminate, vinyl plank flooring, and area rugs. While some of their product is undoubtedly pricey, they have options for every budget. They offer a discount if you pay by cash or check which is appreciated and something that a lot of other businesses don't offer. The delivery of the product and installation went very well with both teams providing a professional and courteous service. The finished product looks great and we are very pleased with it. A great result. This project had several surprises (which nobody wants), but the result is what matters. The two crews took their work seriously and made all the small details work. I had two rooms carpeted and one room get vinyl plank/tiles. Both went in swiftly and with attention to detail. One of the surprises was a quality problem with the tiles. The installers were not happy with it and stopped the job rather than just trying to make it work. Glad they did. We competitively bid the projects and DeSitter got most of the work. We had our floors and carpeting done in the first and second floors of our house. Joann helped us and she was fabulous. Went back yesterday to get samples and such for our basement. It was very close to closing time by my husband was there earlier working with a sales person. When I arrived, I was met by a woman who looked VERY annoyed that I came in at 4:50. Then the "sales person" told me to expect seams all over the basement because it is such a large area. They actually turned off the lights as we were still in the store. Clearly something has changed with DeSitters. Business must be so good that they are willing to "push" you out the door to make sure they close on time rather then take time to try and get my business. I am going to go somehwere else where the company actually wants to work with me, and does not seem annoyed by my presence. read more

I will follow Brent Arnold anywhere. I called him, /DeSitter Flooring because I had to get three or four estimates for a large carpet job for my church many years ago. I've had him for commercial projects as well as residential jobs. Brent came back here after year to follow up on our commercial job ... we've used him to add additional pieces and he personally repaired snags that have occurred because of our usage issues. We've used him for this big job and for small jobs. We had a tiled hallway redone and that turned out spectacular. Desitter's commercial product seems to last a very long time. Holding its shape, color and it's been very durable. We put in the carpet over 10 years ago and do the tiling within the last eight. I just called to see if I could call on him again and Brent answered the phone and he'll be stopping by my real estate office on Monday. read more

We visited DeSitter Flooring after have gone to a couple of the box stores and having a few people come over for for a estimates. We had one room that we wanted carpeted. The sale was good and they had a large variety of carpeting to choose from. They told us that the furniture would not be moved by the installers, other wise they would have to charge a little bit extra. We were able to talk to the sale people and they were able to give us a credit so they included the furniture moving but the installers never need to move the furniture. The installers were very polite and they installed the carpet repetitively quickly. They did a good job. Over all the price was a little higher than some of in home estimates, but i would look at using DeSitter again if the need arises for carpeting again. read more

The process was seamless from visiting the show room to pick out some samples, getting the room measured and finalizing the purchase setting up an installment time to fit our schedule. The installers did a great job removing the large furniture items and doing the installation, then moving things back to exactly where I wanted them. CRAZY OVER PRICED! Go elsewhere! We had previously used DeSitter when we needed a runner for our stairway. They were reasonably helpful and the installers did a nice job. HOWEVER, when we purchased a new home in the area and needed several rooms of carpet we had a much different experience. The sales staff were terrible about returning phone calls and were not sensitive to our schedule and the need to get carpet installed before our move. It felt like buying my first used car back in the 80s. More troubling was that the carpet was way overpriced. Given how much carpet we were purchasing we asked for some amount of discount. We also asked for some kind of discount for paying cash up front. They were unwilling to give any meaningful discount for an entire house of carpet. FINALLY, WE WENT TO GEORGIA CARPETS IN WOODRIDGE AND GOT THE EXACT SAME CARPET FOR ABOUT 30% LESS! In addition the standard pad at Georgia Carpets was the expensive upgrade at DeSitter. We have since told the story to several people and heard a number of similar stories from people. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more

I've had both hardwood and carpet installed in my new home, and with Joanne Voll's help, I couldn't be more please with the results. She helped me sift through many samples, and even pushed my comfort zone with color selections. I am so glad I followed her design advice! Our house is truly now a home. My husband and I also have a rental unit that needed new carpeting in the bedrooms. Sure, I could have called one of the big box stores, but by dialing DeSitter and working with Joanne, my new flooring will be installed next week at a price I am thoroughly happy with. I'm very happy with the area rugs - large and small, and our stair runner. Quality seems very high. The process to get all rugs in place was less than ideal however due to a size that didn't fit in place and then runners and area rugs delivered without the paid for in advance non-skid backing. Also, I asked for the hall runner alongside the stair runner to be made with pattern running same direction as stair runner. I sketched desired pattern on back of remnant and discussed with installer. When runner was finally delivered in place with non-skid backing, the pattern was opposite of what I wanted. I kept runner because I didn't want to arrange my schedule for another drop off. I felt communication with salesperson was not as expected. It took me a while to decide to post this review or not. When I was looking for new carpeting I went to Desitter because my parents used them had a great experience. I did about $6k in carpeting, which to me was a lot of money but worth it because I would rather give a smaller business it than a big box store. The shopping was easy enough and everything went great scheduling and so on.. I explained to the salesmen Paul I needed durable for the stairs which get quite a bit of foot traffic but that looks nice.. we picked out a carpet. I went with two different ones because the house is broken up by a main floor of wood floors and wanted something a bit more plush in the bedrooms. That carpet is great. The installers looking back was the best experience. The stairs which were my main concern and the carpet I chose within 3 weeks started to fray, and loops started to pull out. I contacted the salesmen took photos as he asked. They said they would replace those two steps.. now keep in mind the carpet didn't have seams meaning it was one piece when they installed. They came to fix the two steps two weeks later well by that point the other stairs started to show signs of fraying.. when the workers came I gave them the spare carpet to fix all the stairs in that flight. I reached out to Paul several times by email and phone never with a return call. Since the second flight of stairs started to show signs of distress. The carpet has been in place for almost a year in November and sadly the stairs look worse than the 10 year old carpet I replaced. The lack of follow thru and customer service has been sad. read more

I had a good experience with DeSitter; not great, just good. Paul, the carpet salesman, was quite nice and never pushy. He let me browse and choose what I wanted, along with answering questions I had. I set a date for my installation and sent two follow up emails with questions about the installation. I received a response to one email (from someone other than Paul) with an answer that was not fully complete. The second email was never even responded to. The guy who came to measure my house was quick and efficient, albeit with a big scowl on his face and barely a hello. The installers were the most positive part of my whole experience. They showed up on time, worked hard, and were done by 2:00, which was earlier than projected. They were the nicest crew. I love my new carpet. It is high quality and lush. It cleans up beautifully. It would have been nice customer service to receive a follow up email or phone call from DeSitter about how I liked my carpet. Maybe $6000 is a small order for them, but it was a big investment for me. It would have been nice for them to follow up and see if I was happy with my purchase. I probably won't use them again, even though I am very pleased with my carpeting. If I'm going to make that kind of investment again, I'd rather give my money to someone who seems to appreciate my business. read more

Picked the carpet and was given a quote. When I mentioned the $500.00 off, I was told a discount was applied plus free installation, padding and "Hollywood" steps???? None of this was indicated on the quote, argued again but to no avail. Wouldn't recommend!!! read more
