We had 3 rooms of old hardwood flooring restored and this team did an incredible job. Not only was each person who worked the job friendly, clean and courteous but they kept me informed of every step, had me inspect things as the project progressed to make sure I was satisfied before moving forward. They completed the job in 3 days with which is so impressive due to the starting conditions of the floors (one room had layers of acrylic paint all over, furniture scuffs, and 50 years of wear and tear) and how many rooms there were. Once they finished working we did a final walk through, they gave detailed instructions on curing time and future care, and also said if there are any issues to reach out. I can't say a single bad thing about Scott or his team, and I would recommend working with them to anyone who wants a professional job done well in a timely manner. Our experience with Brookfield flooring was nothing short of Amazing! Scott did an excellent job on our 108 year old Maple floors! We wanted to save the floors and restore the house to its original look. We weren't sure of what the outcome would be but Scott took on the challenge and delivered the most beautiful floors. Prior to the project there was two layers of vinyl tiles and a sub floor. The sub floor has been glued and nailed to the original maple floors! There was also concrete from a prior closet! I have a rental apt that needed the kitchen floor to be refinished. It had been about 20 years since last work done. I called and got estimates from several companies. Some tried to up sell me, some talked about how difficult, and therefore more cost, some had scheduling issues and I had a rental time to meet. Then I discovered Scott at Bkfd Wood Floor, called and talked to him. I was very pleasantly surprised to realize when he came to give me an estimate that I recognized him. He had done some work for me many years back when I lived in Westchester. I hired him to refinish the floor. He showed up on time, got job set up, and did work with minimal dust and intrusion. I hired Scott to come and do my floors throughout the entire first floor. The first half of the job went perfectly. Scott was there and everything went well. The second half of the job was not so good. Scott was not in town so he had his crew there unsupervised. They opened the doors to my back porch and my bathroom, which I asked them to keep closed, and there was a thick layer of dust everywhere. They splashed stain on my wall and didn't clean it up until I asked them. They missed entire spots with the polyurethane and I had to call them back to fix it. They left a foot print in the polyurethane and when I called and asked them to come back again, Scott was dismissive and I never heard back from him again. I will never recommend them to anyone and I'll never call them back. read more

Scott & co. did an incredible job not only refinishing the floors but also constructing beautiful patchwork filling the abandoned registers in the floor. In addition they also created a mitered frame around our maple kitchen floor that ties the red oak dining room together seamlessly. Scott came in with a fair price and finished the job before his original estimate. He called to update us as things progressed each step of the way as we needed it finished before moving into the house. They were careful with the walls cleaning a splash or two, careful with removing and adding back the trim where needed, and leaving the house in great condition. After a quick glance at this page and a bunch of five star reviews I took a shot. Instead I should have heeded Jeff O's warning. The word "dismissive" was spot on. Scott offered a reasonable estimate. I accepted and asked when he could begin. After some rude remarks about my family, he complained about having to move furniture (are we the only people in the world with furniture?) and abruptly changed his mind. Somewhat taken aback, I asked if I should find someone else. His terse text reply: "Yes." Not "Yes. Sorry about that." Or "Yes. But I can recommend someone else." After a neighbor recommended Scott, I called him for an estimate. He was immediately responsive and came by when he said he would. His price was very competitive--in fact less than the other estimates I had gotten. Of course I chose him to sand and refinish my old red oak wood floors (from 1940) and put simply, the job he did was amazing. He was always on time, he explained the process of floor refinishing to me, and patiently answered all my questions about stains and finishes. He also replaced the base shoe as needed. And, the floors now look fantastic. There wasn't even that much clean-up to do afterwards (at least not as much as I expected with such a big job)--probably because he and his crew cleaned up pretty good afterwards. To add to it, because he didn't have to replace all of the base shoe, he discounted the quoted price accordingly!
