This was our second time working with Ciprian, and it was once again a great experience! Last time he repaired and refinished the wood floors in our old apartment, and this time he removed two layers of old, glued-down flooring from our new condo, cleaned the concrete subfloor, and installed new underlayment and engineered hardwood floors for us throughout the entire home, which was a very large project. He was knowledgeable, professional, reasonably priced, had amazing attention to detail, and worked quickly. The whole job (demo to final product) was done in under two weeks, and that included extra time for unforeseen issues, like the concrete subfloor needing to be grinded down and leveled in multiple rooms before floor installation so the planks would lay correctly. Ciprian went above and beyond to make sure the finished product looked amazing and to help us with all aspects of our project. He was kind and professional to our new neighbors and worked within our new building's construction/noise rules, he transported our flooring materials from the store to our new unit and carried them all up the stairs (50 lbs per box, 66 boxes), he finished our master bedroom first so we could move into that space early, and he even returned our leftover boxes of flooring to the store so we could get a refund for the unused products. On top of that, he bought extra matching door trim to fill in the gaps between the top of the new floor and the base of the doorway trim that the previous owners had cut way too high to accommodate the two old layers of flooring. The finished product looks amazing! We are very happy with his work and with the look and installation of our new floors. We highly recommend Ciprian, and we would absolutely work with him again. read more

Ciprian knows his wood floors! I recently remodeled our 1950s house and needed new hardwood flooring throughout. I prefer real wood which is what Ciprian excels at. Restoring, blending, repairing, coloring. He is kind of a wood floor artist. Cuprian works with his Dad and they are professional and trustworthy. Would definitely recommend! read more

Ciprian Hardwood Flooring helped us to to convert a few rooms from Pergo to Oak hardwood. Matching the older oak to the new install was key for our project. He additionally took the time to help relocate appliances that were in the way of the install. Arrival time was punctual for each day of the install. I'm very happy with the install, look, and feel of the work done. I would use Ciprian again and recommend to my friends. read more

A section of our cherry wood kitchen floor was getting extremely worn damaged due to dogs, kids and rubber scratching under chairs. Ciprian was able to help squeeze us in fast to prevent further damage. I reached out to a few contractors and many only wanted to do entire first floor and not help us with this small section. (We will do full later when kids are grown). The kitchen floor turned out incredible. Thank you so much Ciprian. read more

I was fixing up a bedroom in our 100+ year old house and needed to have the floor refinished due to the many large gouges, scratches, and stains throughout the room. Ciprian installed some new wood pieces where the floor boards had been cut too short of the baseboard, sanded the floor down, and applied two coats of finish. I also had him install new base shoe throughout the room. All of the work turned out great. Dust was kept to a minimum and he even finished the whole job in one day instead of the two days he had quoted. Highly recommended. read more

Ciprian Hardwood Flooring is excellent. Son and father came to do the job and were very professional. They know what they are doing and the results were amazing. My floor looks terrific. read more

We recently had our hardwood floors updated. They were about 20 years old and had a lot of wear and tear including floor damage (some burn marks, floor chipping etc.) . Ciprian came on time and finished ahead of time. They were extremely professional (respectful of the home, very clean, etc). The job they did was fantastic -it was so much better than I could have imagined. I feel like my house is brand new and wish I did this sooner. I would definitely use them again. Also - we shopped around and their prices were extremely fair. These photos are the same spot (didn't take good before photos) but you can see the difference is amazing. The floors are so smooth and clean. I highly recommend! read more

We are so thankful for the beautiful work this team did for us. Our floors look amazing. Very easy to work with. Completed our entire first floor just in a few days as well. We are very happy and would recommend Ciprian to anyone. read more

I needed an immediate flooring contractor and contacted 3 different companies. Ciprian had the soonest availability as well as the best price. So I went with them. The communication via text/phone was very fast and clear. The contractor educated me with staining maple floors and provided plenty of advice and options. The process of sanding/staining took 4 days and the quality was fantastic! The TVs/portraits were properly protected with plastic. The cabinets/drawers were sealed with tape and was wiped down after the job was finished. The doors were all screwed back into place. After the service was complete, they even sent me some education on floor maintenance. I couldn't be any happier with the floors and service of this company. I am definitely going back to this company for any flooring service! read more

We requested several quotes to have our hardwood floors finished once they were installed. While Ciprian's came somewhere in the middle, we trusted him based on the walk-through he provided for us and his knowledge that he demonstrated during the walk-through. We were working on a tight timeline to complete the floors (and also dealing with unreliable contractors to try to get the installation complete), so unfortunately there was some overlap in them being installed and Ciprian and his team coming in to help, but thankfully that worked out in the end. After the sanding was completed and once the staining commenced there were few/short windows of time when we were able to go see the floors in person, and Ciprian was very communicative about how the work was going, which I appreciated. In the end, they look beautiful, and even though his quote wasn't the lowest, I am thankful that we chose him. One issue I have is that there was a bunch of sawdust that was collected during the sanding process. I own 4 condos in Chicago and have refinished floors for half of them, and I have never been tasked with disposing of the sawdust myself. It ended up being no big deal, and Ciprian took care of the second half, but I wish I knew that we would need to safely dispose of the sawdust ourselves, since that required a special process of its own. Please excuse the walls in the photos as we are still mid-renovation and not everything looks great, but the floors certainly look amazing. read more

Ciprian Hardwood Flooring is a family-owned business and they recently completed our kitchen floor in unfinished hardwood. The final finish and the overall process was easy and working with Ciprian was a pleasure to work with. On time and budget and kept everything as dust free as possible. From the floor demo in a 97 year old house to the final finish last week, was right on the mark. We were out of town for the demo and installation of the hardwood, but Ciprian stayed in contact with us and sent pictures as the project moved forward. Had to wait for the cabinets to be installed and then the appliances, but once they were in place Ciprian came back and put the finish coat on the hardwood. A few days later the floor looks great and nice having a kitchen back. read more

Floor was in in pretty good condition already & just needed 1 broken plank replaced and it matches almost perfectly!

Incredible service!!! Exceptional work!!! Ciprian is your floor guy!!! We requested a quote months ago and were slow in deciding on flooring for our basement, but after checking out several quotes and flooring options, we stuck with Ciprian and we are sooo glad we did! We had a little hiccup in the middle of his job, but got it fixed (needed part of the floor leveled by a concrete/masonry company), so I felt awful messing up his schedule, but thankfully we weren't on a time crunch, so we were very thankful that weeks didn't pass in between!!! He did excellent work, was soooo good about communicating each step of the way, and we would definitely use or recommend him to anyone! See our pics for before and after! They're not the best angles, but you get the point. read more

The best in the business. This was our second time using Ciprian as we moved into a new home and needed their expertise. The previous owner had a outdated and very worn runner over plywood carpenter stairs. It was really bad (before pics in the images). Ciprian and his team perfectly installed new, high quality hardwood stairs and hardwood landings. Also they buffed and re-sealed our existing hardwood floors to the perfect sheen. The new stairs match existing our floors perfectly, you would have no idea they weren't original to the unit. I would highly recommend Ciprian, this was our second time using him and his team and they 100% delivered on quality, service and cost. read more

We had a hidden water leak in our unit, which damage our subfloor in our bedroom as well as the flooring that was less than a year old! Huge pain, made even worse by the fact that our building is a bit of a challenge to work in - as well as the original flooring we had had a design change made by the manufacturer. Ciprian and his team did a great job of working around these problems - true craftsman and I would not hesitate using them again. They were prompt, professional and clean. Skilled at refinishing hardwood floors and stairs. Excellent work. Fair prices. Several jobs done for me. Highly recommend.

Ciprian did an amazing job with our floor repair and restaining. We're so happy with the final outcome & he was so quick and efficient too.

These guys care a LOT about the quality of their work - and they gave us a great price including covering some additional surprises along the way free if charge Including customer transitions between the refinished stairs and new floors upstairs. We felt they had our best interest at heart each step of the way - and we're great at keeping us posted. also they worked around our admittedly terrible schedule. Fantastic work. Ciprian Hardwood Flooring - Refinished floors from 1959 - beautiful - Flooring Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Ciprian and his team did what other flooring contractors said could not be done, and in only one day! While renovating my mother's apartment, we kept being told that the original maple flooring could not be salvaged, and that trying to restore it would damage the floor sanding equipment. I am so glad I persisted and found Ciprian. The original floor from 1910 was covered under several layers of flooring materials, dating back to the 1950s, including linoleum stuck down with black mastic. He and his team (father and cousin) got to work early on a Monday morning, and by 3 p.m. had fully stripped, sanded, and put two coats of polyurethane on. They came back the next morning for two hours to buff and put on the final coat. We are still astonished with the results, as the kitchen floor is simply beautiful now. Pricing was fair, communication was consistent and excellent, and the final product speaks for itself. Will definitely be calling Ciprian back to refinish other floors. We highly recommend his service. read more

Ciprian was so wonderful to work with! He is very knowledgeable, detail oriented, and finished our flooring project in a quick timeline. He really knows the business and helped us through all our questions and decision making. We had a huge project; as we were removing 4" of tile/concrete in our sunroom to replace with new hardwood. Not only were doing a demo and replacement of the floor, but we had to carefully match the new wood floor with the existing wood floor throughout our home. He seamlessly installed the new wood flush the with the original wood and did an amazing job getting the stain to match perfectly. In addition, the renovation was spotless and did a great job of cleaning up after each workday. Since we couldn't always be on site with Ciprian during the renovation, he texted us updates and pictures of the project in real time. With such a large project underway, his communication is something we appreciated most about working with him. We are very excited to start using our beautiful, new floors and would highly recommend, as well as use him again in the future! read more

Well Ciprian did such a great job in our townhouse that we didn't even consider anyone else when we moved into our house that had 1988 written all over the floors. It's hard to say he did better because he did such a great job the first time, but this time he had to actually install hardwood floors AND make them level to the existing ones. Then refinish them. Once again Michael Jordan would be proud to be bouncing a ball on these floors. My house feels so much more warm and homey. Once again no dust. Once again great communication. Once again relieved to work with an honest contractor who takes pride in his work. Once again no corners were cut. Everyone is amazed at how our floors look and I wish every contractor I worked with was like Ciprian. He does business like business ought to be done. Why can't all the contractors be like Ciprian? read more

Ciprian and his father came to refinish the oak flooring on the entire first floor of our home. During the process, he took great care in covering his work areas and explained every detail of the process so i was well aware of everything. I don't normally write reviews but I found Ciprian using the reviews. I called and he answered right away. I told him what I needed (hardwood refinishing) and set up a day for him to do an in person quote. He was on time and very thorough with the walk through and gave me a fair straight up price. We wanted the floors done as soon as possible and he was able to start the next day. He did our top floor with 3 bedrooms and the hall way leading to the stairs. Wow do they look great! We sincerely cannot say enough great things about Ciprian and company, and the beautiful work they did to refinish our hardwood floors. They are gorgeous and look brand new - in fact, people have already commented on what a great job they did (they've only been done one week!). In addition to craftsmanship, Ciprian was reliable, communication was excellent, they knew how to address issues that came along in the process (including fixing stairs) and probably the most important thing to us is how straightforward and honest they were/are. Would 100% recommend to anyone. read more

overall - end product great! Floors look awesome, and Ciprian's team was prompt, hardworking and finished a few days ahead of schedule, which was nice. His team (ie family) was on time, sent updates during the project and was I only docked a star for two reasons - while we were getting quotes, he pushed us into putting a deposit down or losing our date - understandable as during these times, any sort of home renovation specialist is not short of work, but we ended up having to make a final decision on a sunday night, while waiting for a quote from another vendor, when we would have gotten the other quote on monday - so if you're interested in moving forward, make sure you're ready to sign within a week or two. Second, there was some confusion about stairs - after the initial walkthrough, we were under the impression he would stain the railings and posts - I'll put most of the blame on myself for not following up and doing due diligence, but there are lots of pics on their website with wood stairs and matching posts/railings so if that's something you are interested in, make sure you're clear when getting the quote. When this came to be during the project, Ciprian went the extra mile to address it and help refer us to another painter who could fill in to do the work. Overall, the floors and stairs look awesome, the final project came out great, and would probably use again, especially to support a smaller family-owned business! read more
