Highly recommend JP Hardwood Flooring! Johnny came out to my house and gave me an estimate to refinish all of my hardwood floors the same day. He does charge more than a few other quotes I received, but his rates reflect the quality of his work. He is very responsive and laid down all of the stain options I was looking at in 4 different rooms throughout my house so I could really see how the color looked in different lighting conditions. He was also able to seamlessly fill in all of the cracks in our floors making them look brand new and did the entire house in less than a week! Make sure you do your research on whether or not you want Synteko for your finish - we ended up going with a water-based finish since we have a dog and little babies crawling on our floors and didn't want to risk the toxins, but I would definitely trust Johnny with the finish if you're interested in it. Finally, about a month after moving in, one of our stair treads broke off and Johnny was able to come and replace it in a matter of days - he asked for the measurements ahead of time, so when he showed up at 8am, he already had the tread pre-cut and was done with everything within the hour. Generally easy communication and floors look fine. As I was out of the country I asked Dino to send me samples of the floor colors but I never received them. As a result the floor is much lighter than I had anticipated/wanted. I was also told they would paint the shoe but I will need to hire a painter to come and paint as they look a mess. Patches of flooring are mismatched and seem somewhat "lazy" as the color is significantly lighter and not matched. Nice people, adequate job, but not for high end projects. read more

Maybe you're like me, and see the highly rated JP hardwood flooring on Yelp, wondering, is this really worth that? I can attest that it's true. I got three quotes for our major floor project. We needed to replace the wood on the first floor and refinish most of the second floor. My husband and I felt most comfortably with Jonny. He was easy to get in touch with, extremely responsive, and he prioritized our tight schedule between closing on our new home and moving from our old home. Danny came in to do the wood replacement project. The man is a craftsman! We had a rounded stair he needed to create which looks perfect. He was respectful of me needing to consult with my interior designer, literally waiting at the home for us to come to give the OK. Jonny then came in with a few other guys to do the refinishing. I saw in posts on this yelp page how they paint the color options out for you which they did for me. I loved that. You can see it on your own floor and your own lighting. Johnny is a wonderful and competent flooring expert, especially for first-timers I had the great pleasure of working with Johnny and his team, and my introduction to him came at a fortuitous time. I had just purchased my first home that needed a substantial floor facelift (installing new hardwood floors in two carpeted bedrooms and refinishing hardwood floors throughout the entire unit), and I have never worked with a flooring contractor before. As a first-time home owner, I felt a great deal of trepidation in navigating, what seemed to be at the time, an incredibly stressful project. Therefore, I felt that it was paramount to work with someone who would set me on the right path. Right from my first meeting with Johnny -- where he was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and patient -- I knew I was in great hands. Johnny took the time out of his day (on multiple occasions in fact) to walk me through the entire process to ensure I understood all the procedures and what products he would be using to set proper expectations. It was very apparent that Johnny wanted to make sure that I was comfortable with what was going on, and he helped me do all of this while maintaining a high degree of grace and professionalism. He never once made me feel inferior for asking basic or naive questions. After settling on a scope of work, Johnny and his team got straight to it, and they did NOT disappoint. Not only were they fast and competent, but more importantly, the end result was incredible. Johnny Purcea came and gave an estimate, we signed the contract, and he sent his Certificate of Insurance per our request. He then did the work on the schedule we agreed to and charged the price he said he would. The results are fantastic and there was very little dust! What more could you ask for? The work included several repairs, the addition of transitions, and staining with a color we love! They did their work over several consecutive days, instead of rushing to do it in one day. My fiancé and I truly couldn't be happier with our experience with Johnny and his team at JP Hardwood Flooring. We recently purchased an apartment that was a bit of a diamond in the rough. When getting quotes to have the floors refinished, we found two things: many companies simply weren't responsive to our request for a quote - even if just to say that they were fully booked - and there was a lot of pessimism with the quotes we did get. One gentleman said that the floors were so old, all he'd be able to do was buff them; he had a pained look on his face the whole time he was at the apartment. Not so with JP Hardwood Flooring. They were very responsive and optimistic about what they could accomplish with the floors. Then I had a separate company, 312 Flooring, add Harwood floors to my bedrooms and they messed up the color/stain badly. It looked terrible. They installed the wrong grade of red oak floor, and I'm not even sure they used the right stain. Johnny came to rescue and helped me get my new floors to look as close as we could get with the older floors that were sanded and refinished recently. JP Hardwood Flooring is as good as it gets. Johnny was very prompt in his communication, and relative to other companies, his pricing was very competitive. I initially ordered flooring from Floor & Decor and when it arrived, I only opened one box and it looked good and I scheduled a time for Johnny and his team to install the floor. Johnny & Cosmin came out on the install date and took the time to go through multiple boxes with me to inspect the floor and actually ended up advising me NOT to install this specific flooring because it was lower quality and they knew we would have issues with it in the future. I agreed with him and we returned all of the flooring. Needless to say, the job was put on pause while I ordered new flooring elsewhere. I'm positive that 99% of other companies would have just went ahead with the install to get the pay check and not thought twice about it. JP Hardwood Flooring was willing to delay their job so that I would be happy with the product and the end result. I was even willing to pay 50% of the job because I felt bad for the delay and they completely declined and said they were not willing to take my money without completing any work. That type of integrity is rare these days! Once we got the new product delivered, Cosmin and Johnny were very quick to schedule an install date and the end result is perfect. They completed the job of over 1,400 square feet in a matter of days and I was thrilled with the quality, communication and price. Flooring is a huge decision when it comes to renovating a home, and I did as much research as I could into different companies so that I felt confident with the provider. My husband couldn't leave a 2nd review when Johnny and his team came to stain our hardwoods in a different part of our home, so I'm posting :) Johnny and his team do a fantastic job! This was the second time he and his team worked on our floors. The first time they refinished almost 100 year old hardwood floors in the majority of our home. The floors had many nail holes and other blemishes but Johnny and his team made them look brand new! When I called others they told me they couldn't do the job because of the age and condition of the floors. Johnny made it look easy. This second time we had Johnny finish the back part of the home and it was the same outcome. The 100 year old hardwood looks brand new! The floors were covered with a fiber board type material that was underneath the carpet. Johnny removed the carpet, the fiber board that was glued to the floor, replaced boards, placed thresholds, and came up with great solutions to cover the floor in areas where the hardwood didn't meet the kitchen floor. We cannot recommend Johnny enough. He's does great work, very polite, easy to work with, and takes care of everything. read more

I had carpet in my master bedroom that I wanted to remove and match my existing wood floors that were in the living / dining /kitchen area--and boy did they deliver! I was inexperienced with this kind of work, but Johnny is an expert.
