On March 7, we contact Budget Refinishers, Inc. through Yelp.com and negotiated the price and date to refinish our 2 bathtubs. They sent their technician Luis Santiago on March 11, 2024 to do the job. He arrived in my unit at 10:15am and finished his job and left at 3:15pm. However, the bathtubs looked not finished. We found several defects on both of the refinished bathtubs and requested the technician come to fix them. Luis came on Thursday, March 21, at 9:30 am and started his work on the first bathtub. When he finished it, he just left secretly without notifying us to check his work and without fix the second bathtub. We had to call him to ask him come back. When he came in the afternoon, he just whispered and complained that we didn't tell him at the beginning. He did not do anything. The defects on second bathtub were never fixed. I've had a less than ideal experience with this company with regards to professionalism and quality of work. They reglazed our tub in 2020. Getting them to come to do that first job was not a seamless experience. They called me to cancel the appointment after the time they were supposed to come, and we rescheduled. They eventually did the work and we got a 5 year warranty on it. Less than 2 years later the paint started peeling in the tub in the same exact place that it was before, so I called them to come repair it under the warranty. I sent pictures and everything, and they didn't want to honor the warranty, because according to them I used a bath mat (when I never used a bath mat!!) and that's what caused the paint to peel like that again... however he said that he would get a technician to come out to fix it for $150, which is half of the price of a normal job. So I agreed bc I didn't want to have to find another company. Needless to say, they've basically avoided the job and have made up extreme excuses instead of just telling me they don't want to do the job and find another company. I had an appointment for two weeks, and I called the day before the appointment to confirm. They said all is good. I wait the next day and no one shows up.... they call me after the appointment time to tell me they can't do it bc the technicians car broke down, and they asked if I can reschedule for the next day, and I said yes that's fine....the next day, I call to confirm they're coming bc they obviously have a pattern of not communicating, and they tell me that they can't do it bc the technician got into a car accident last night (I'm sorry if that did happen, but can you see where I don't believe it?)... I had to call THEM to see if they'd show up. Again this is my experience. Wish I could recommend them, but I really can't. read more

I hired this company to paint my tub and tile. After 10 months, the tub started peeling. I contacted the owner Louie and sent him all the information he requested, and he never got back to me. Since the beginning, everything went wrong. They did not want to honor the 5 year warranty on the contract, and manually changed it to 1 year . Also, they took down the bathroom door and wanted me to put it back up on my own the following day. I'm in my 50's and never had installed a door. The tile was painted just as it was. If it is missing any grout, they don't fix that. I wanted to make a quick fix to my bathroom, and ended up throwing away more than $1000.00. They were responsive to my request for a quote. $350 matched most other offers and a few higher. Mine was a simple white tub to be reglazed white and had a few scratches to repair. I had to call in and schedule. I set the appointment for next available for about 2 weeks ahead. I was told I had to pay by Zelle, Cash or Venmo I believe and had to tell them how I was going to pay. I was told I would receive and email or text on that day with the payment info. I never received anything. The morning of my appointment I get a call from the technician that he can't find parking. I offered my garage space, but should not have had too. So, the tech started his work and after about 30 minutes I asked if I had to be there for the entire appointment. He said no. I gave him a tip and told him I'm going to trust that you are going to do a good job. I asked him how to pay and he gave me an email address to pay by Zelle. I did. I went back the next day and found a large spot with glaze that had dripped and several other pits or black marks. To me they were very obvious and should have never been left that way. Luckily I checked my Zelle and the payment hadn't gone through. I was given the wrong email address. I immediately cancel my payment. I proceeded to text the company and let them know the issue with pictures and that I was not going to pay until it was fixed. Once they found out the payment didn't go through they scheduled tech to come out next day. To my surprise they sent the same tech. I was not happy, but I wanted to get it fixed. Again he wanted a parking space. He came in and didn't apologize and started working. Meanwhile the office called wanting me to pay before the job was completed. I told them no... that I would pay once completed. The tech did his work and I noticed him texting and then started packing up.... I got a call right away asking for payment. I told them after I look at the job... I would pay. I went into the bathroom and there was an obvious spot with no glaze right on the lip of the tub. The tech saw my face and went back to fixing it. He did a substandard fix, but it looked good enough for a rental unit. I paid once he was done. I would have given a higher rating if I was given an apology and felt appreciated.
