Super impressed with the work we just had done on our bathtub! We've had a mustard yellow tub from the 1970s for so long, it's wonderful to have a shiny white tub that looks new! Humphrey came to do the work and it was very professionally done, he was a great guy to talk with, and left with everything looking super clean. We absolutely would recommend hiring these guys! read more

Really happy with the result (sorry I don't have pictures). We bought an old home in Oak Park and the tub was a mess. We thought it was just dirty and uncared for, so we tried everything including a cleaning service, with no luck. We decided to have it glazed and they did an amazing job. Done in a day, bone white beautiful, smooth as can be. A few months in and we are still really pleased. Very responsive small shop, very much recommend. read more

Live and learn. Red flag: the "technician" insisted I write a 5 star review BEFORE starting the work. It was literally spray painted. Sloppy caulk job. Started to peel within 6 months. read more

Eric did a GREAT Job Reglazing my tub. Amazing work and VERY quick! Will use again ANY day!

RED FLAG: I didn't even want to give them a one star that's how disappointed I am. Had my bathtub refurbished with Cutting Edge on August 25, 2025. Thank god I have an extra bathroom with a shower cause we have not been able to use the bathtub since August. If it wasn't that the paint was smudging and not drying properly. This has been a total nightmare. Then everytime the tech needed to come back and redo the job he always had excuses or I had to rearrange my schedule with his thinking that it was gonna get done properly. Now I have to find someone else to redo my bathtub. I don't think the tech knew what he was doing. The tech left my bathtub looking dull and did not put enough glaze hardener for the paint to dry. You would thin with all the times we called that there was problem they would send a different tech. My husband is diabetic and I will not let him use that bathtub until it gets properly done. Hopefully I can find someone that knows what they are doing and I will be out more money which is ashame. read more

I'm so surprised to read all of the positive reviews. But good for cutting edge! Maybe my experience is just an outlier. But we hired them to refinish our tub with a nonslip bottom. They were prompt and clean. However the tub is not nonslip and the overspray is terrible. When I called to reach out to the owner to see how we could move forward, he only text me and "said what's the issue?" I took pictures and sent them to him. He asked me for my address, but I've never heard back from him and that was three weeks ago. Although the overspray is terrible, I need to do my entire bathroom anyway. That's why I reached out to him. I wanted him to come back and redo my entire bathroom. But I also wanted him to see the overspray. Because this company has received so many positive reviews. I will chalk my experience up to an outlier. I hired another company, Chicago porcelain, to come and complete my bathroom. read more

We hired this group 4 separate times to refinish tubs in our rental units. All looked excellent upon completion. However, the one star review is because one of the tubs has peeled after only two years. When we asked for repair under "lifetime" warranty, they asked us to send a picture and from this picture Cutting Edge determined that the damage was done by a shower mat (?!?!) and therefore declined to repair under the warranty. There is a standard shower mat in the tub (which was put in use one year after the initial refinishing). From our experience, they have no intention of honoring their warranty. read more

I wish I knew more people who needed bathtubs redone/glazed as I want to give this company as much business as possible! They were amazing. Got my tub done like 3 days after I first sought quotes. I asked about 10 companies for quotes and they beat all the competitors by miles. They were $510 cheaper than my most expensive quote! The glazing comes with a 5 year warranty and they were super communicable, professional and went above and beyond filling in some extra spots for us. They will match any legitimate competitors price, and they were so good that even if you get a better price from a different company (unlikely) you should still just send your quote to them and use them since they will match it! read more

This service is quick to respond and complete the service. I would say that the refinishing quality was so-so compared to other services we had. Some caulking came off and someone was sent to fix it quickly. A year later - we had some chips and wanted to follow up on the warranty. The owner was unpleasant and curt in his communication via text. Made us feel awful about the issues and would repair for a fee. Even if there were things for us to have communicated sooner; that is no way to speak to a customer. Would have considered paying the fee if the communication was more courteous than what was provided. read more

The price for reglazing my tub and the tile wall around the tub was a bit pricier than most other places I inquired but they replied back to me very quickly and it was easy/quick to schedule. The finished product was okay/not bad except I noticed some detail issues when you look closely (see pictures; some areas of coating wasnt so smooth etc). In addition, they chipped some painting off of my wall without telling me (see pictures) and now I have to figure out how to paint my wall. Overall I would rate them 3.5/5. read more

I reached out to Cutting Edge via a contractor, and initially, it was hard to pin them down. Whoever picked up the phone was a bit gruff. However, once I scheduled everything, the refinisher they sent was great! Eric did a wonderful job refinishing the tub in under two hours. He was very friendly and efficient. The fumes are a bit intense, but my bathroom doesn't have windows, so that's that. Eric didn't leave any boot footprints on my bedroom carpet and was very careful, so I really appreciated it! read more

It's not been 6 months and the tub is pitting in multiple spots. The less than enthusiastic and professional caulk job is already peeling. This is shameful quality. For a little over an hours worth of work it was $340-that seems a bit overpriced to me. The tub looks great though and the process was simple. Technician arrived promptly and was thorough. The smell only lasted about a day and that is with AC on and windows closed due to temperatures outside. The only issue is that if you want it caulked (which I was told was included) you risk getting fingerprints in the reglazed tub. I declined because i didn't want to risk messing it up. They won't come back to do it after it dries. read more

Wojtek drives the Subaru Baja with a tub model on the back. I swa the car at HD and decided to use his service. He quoted me $550 and just upoc coming he requested $600. I've told him the price was ageed upon already. He started to prepare the tub at about 10:30 and finished spraying at abot 2:00. I saw a white tub finished and wanted to take a closer look, but he said: you need to keep the door closed and not do anything for 24 hours as the paint needs to dry. He wanted to be paid in cash. The next day I checked the tub and found unpatched holes ond the paint running in two very visible places. I called him and said that the tub must be retouched and first he agreed to come back the next afternoon. Then when I called if he's coming, he accused me of calling him names and that the running pait spots were already present on the tub befor he started to prep the surface.. He's not picking up phone and doesn't respond to my text messages. Rude and very unprofessional service. This guy wants to make good money bearly communicating in English and he obviously does terrible work! Stay away!!! read more

Tony needs someone else to handle his customer service. I'm sure the work they perform is nice, that's why I called, but we won't hire him based on how short fused he is. If he speaks this way to potential clients I can only imagine the way he would act if I needed to contact him for post installation work to correct if future unforeseen damages should arise. Based on our phone call I feel he's the type who would later throw any installation errors back on me as my fault. His website offers competitors price matching. He quoted me $1,200 originally and commented he was running that price as a special. It was the highest quote I received. I was quoted $900 by another company. He said he would honor the price and then later backed out of price matching saying it's not the same process. I understand we mostly get what we pay for so I then asked him to please walk me through the process so I can understand and be prepared for what services are and are not included. He began to yell at me for price gouging. Ignoring my request. Told me to just trust him because he knows what he's doing. He then said good luck with the other guys and THEN starting trash talking the other companies. I get it, I own a company too, I have my feelings, but I would never speak the way he did to me to a potential client. I'm also an expert in my field who wants to be trusted but I earn the trust of my clients by informing them when asked. I did learn from him to read the entirety of any "warranty" you're about to sign. They're apparently very limited in coverage. I selected a third company. One who hasn't quoted me. The "other guys" charged me $1,200. That's just the price not on special. They took the time to make sure I understood our agreement and I look forward to working with them instead. read more

From my request, to making the appointment - the process was very easy. The technician (Humphrey) came in on time and was professional throughout. He explained to me what he was going to do and kept me informed throughout the process. My tech went about and beyond when realizing he needed more venting hose for my unusually long loft and "MacGyver-ed" a solution to address a unique situation. I am very pleased with the results. Humphrey was great. On time, clean..the bathroom looks like new...I would highly recommend their services! Thank you! read more

These guys did a great job! They quickly caught my attention when I saw all the great reviews. Once I called them, the process was very easy! Tony quickly texted me back and asked me to text him some pictures of our tub, and quickly gave me an estimate. From there we set a date and time, which was also done within the next week. Once Humphrey came, the process was extremely smooth. He was professional and courteous, explaining everything along the way. He taped everything down and covered everything. Cutting Edge Refinishing - Refinished bath tub - Refinishing Services Near Me

I had my tub reglazed August 23, 2023. August 26, 2023 I contacted the company to let them know that I was not satisfied with the finish and asked if they could re-spray the tub. I was told that i would have to agree to pay $90.00 for the company to return just to take a look at the tub. Mr. Garcia insisted that what I was seeing on the finish was a shadow. The tub looks the same as it did prior to the refinishing. I would recommend that if you are looking for good customer service you never use this company. I can't believe that a company would charge a customer to return and correct something that they did! I will never use their service again. I would give zero stars if I could. read more

The bath tub refinishing works and it looks great! Request responded on time and patient about scheduling. The whole job was completed in around 3.5 hours. At the beginning, the smell is strong, and I turned on the fan for 48hours. The smell is almost gone in 1-2 weeks. Moreover, the 5 year warranty provided me great confidence. My house was built in 1924 and I still have the original tub so one can imagine the shape it was in. I called Cutting Edge to have it refinished and they came out in a jiffy to make it look brand new. Soooo pleased! JC told me that if I saw any separation by the caulking to call them and they would come out to repair it. Jc showed up very promptly this morning to recaulk the tub. The process was easy although the tech removed my drain and did not put it back. I was informed that they don't come back to reinstall the drain. It seems like it would be easy to put back although I had to call a handyman to reinstall the drain and he said it won't go back correctly. Not sure what happened here but I feel if you hire someone to do a job they should leave the job with everything in the working condition it was in prior to their arrival. I would not recommend this company unless you want to hire more people to do repairs after they leave. I am currently living with a drain that doesn't function properly because of this company A frustrating experience read more

Was given a time frame and Eric was very well within that time frame, EVEN THOUGH he got in a wreck on his way to my house. That would be enough for me to call it a day but Eric was still extremely nice and helpful with everything. I was working on an apartment the same time Eric was here and he was very respectful in making sure he was out of my way while I was working too. Would recommend 10 times out of 10, and if you're a manager reading this GIVE ERIC A RAISE. If not buy him a new front end to his vehicle. I felt terrible and he was still here on time and very polite in the middle of a not so convenient situation. Bath tub also came out absolutely fantastic and looks like a brand new tub. read more

Tony was great while scheduling and gave us a competitive and similar price as another company . Our tub was in bad shape and has jets. We looked at just getting the tub replaced and the tile that goes on the floor and up the wall is discontinued so we had no choice since we're listing our home for sale to go with the more economical and quicker option of getting it refinished . Miguel showed up an hour early and I was ecstatic for that. He was very friendly and even told me that they don't normally do these types of jobs but he was up for the challenge. What was supposed to take 3-5 hours took him 6.5 hours and the outcome could not have been better. He never once made me feel bad for how long it took nor did he complain. The ONLY negative that was - he must have moved the toilet and forgot to hook it back up or couldn't because a part of the plumbing/water hose is now damaged . The only way I knew about this was my husband coming home and telling me the toilet had been leaking. My husband had to go buy a new hose and repair it .. would have appreciated a heads up and it wouldn't have been such a big deal. Aside from that, the tub looks great so that's the reason for 4 stars. read more

Cutting Edge Refinishing - Love that they put up a barrier to protect my newly remodeled bathroom! - Refinishing Services Near Me

We had our two tubs refinished through Cutting Edge. Javier showed up promptly as scheduled and was friendly and professional the whole time. He did a great job refinishing both tubs and leaving us with care and follow-up instructions once he was done. There are a few little things that I would have liked to have known up-front, though, that I think they should have mentioned. 1: There is a $10 fee for using credit cards. I didn't know that beforehand. 2: Part of the process requires that the old caulk be removed and the taped up paper (to prevent the sprayed-on finish from over-spraying to your walls/floors) to be left on. As such, it's up to you to re-caulk the tub. 3: The new finish is NOT as durable as the original. I knew that, but didn't realize how sensitive it was. The first time we used the tub (about 30 hours after completion), we put our son's bath toys in and one of his hard plastic toys hit the side of the tub and left a red mark that's now permanent on our bright white tub. However, despite this, the price for refinishing vs. replacing tubs is a no-brainer. Our tubs were gross after 20 year of use. Now they look brand new (with one red mark). Thank you Tony and Javier for good customer service, the right price, and a job well done! UPDATE: So, within minutes of me posting this, Tony reached out to me to help me remove the red mark. Now THAT's customer service! read more
