The Vatican skillet.

Wasnt very busy so I was seated right away. Restaurant was clean and cozy. Server was helpful with a few recommendations. Ordered The Vatican with eggs over medium and english muffin. Food was delivered hot and fast. The Vatican is delicious. Awesome skillet. Eggs were not over medium and the muffin was well done. Not a big deal, the portion size made up for it. I couldnt eat it all. Will be back to try the Ultimate Skillet next time. Prices were comparable to any where else.

I've been to this location several times. Even though it's quite large, it feels very homey. They've got pretty floral murals on the wall and nice wooden furniture. Love the arches! We came right as it was about time but they'd start serving lunch. They're known for their breakfast and I've had breakfast here and it's been really good and really large. Today I've decided to go for lunch and ordered the avocado roast beef sandwich. I chose a tossed salad for my side with ranch dressing. Sandwich was fine - - nothing special, except I did love the grilled crispy bread. The salad was a standard salad that you might find in a bag. I did not like the ranch dressing and did not eat my salad. My friend got the Crackers Club with a bowl of chicken noodle soup. Both looked really good and he did say the sandwich was great but the soup was just okay. Our server was really nice. She was attentive and said it would be no problem for us to order lunch even though it was not quite time. I really liked her. All in all, my lunch experience here was okay. They are known for the breakfast and I think I will stick to breakfast next time I come.

Cracker's never disappoints. The skillet breakfast's are amazing! The restaurant is very open and inviting with a cute country decor. Our server today was so sweet. We had great service and great food. What more can you ask for.

I have been missing out! I don't know how many times I've driven by this place and never stopped. It's right behind the Home Depot on country club. I finally went today. It's a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. Walked in and was immediately greeted by the hostess, and was sat down in a couple minutes. The place was abuzz with customers. Very welcoming with a country style setting. The waitress was very pleasant and attentive. I ordered the California eggs Benedict. Bacon, spinach, avocado and two poached eggs. The hollandaise was tasty, thick and creamy. Came with a side of country fried potatoes. The only complaint I had was one of the eggs was a little over cooked. My stepson had the Valencia. Two fried eggs, over medium, bell peppers, onions and potatoes. Egg yolks were still runny and the whites fully cooked. He said it was very good. What a pleasant surprise! Can't wait to go back and check out the lunch menu!

I've been to Crackers and Co many times and everything I order is always on point. They are a breakfast lunch spot that serves excellent food. I recently got the Poblano Chicken Melt with a cup of tortilla soup. Such a well made melt that has a little heat and I even add more heat with their delicious hot sauces. Good sized sandwich and delicious. The soup was excellent too that had a little spice to it and included a little sour cream to add a little more creamy taste to the soup. Everything from breakfast to lunch here is always great. Can't go wrong with anything here and the service is always top notch.

I come her often and usually have the best greetings, severs, and food! today we went and unfortunately had the worst !!! our greeting started off as the normal exceptional greeting,, the greeter sat us in an area that I was excited about because I had never sat on the side area. We were all alone, and I loved it. A small area to the right if you're coming the kitchen. It was off to a great start until Pammy came out and immediately took it upon herself to move us to a table. I was completely not happy with in the middle of the restaurant. about it and say how I was happy where I was she stated she that we move. I didn't quite understand what the deal was. As I sat down, I continue complaining about how I was not happy with that seat. She did not care. Also everything about her from reaching over my Food while explaining menu to my cousin and attempting to take my coffee cup away while I was still drinking it and to her standing around, looking directly at our table, it was creepy. She was the worst server ive ever had there and if I ever get sat with her again, I will definitely make sure that I change. Also to add the was hot as usual and fresh, but I decided to choose something different and and it was horrible and the country was nice and crispy, but the flavor was not there. I should've just stuck with my usual. Today was just not a good experience. I'm sure my next experience will be better. Pammy needs to learn to read the room and listen to concerns. All she had to do was ask if we wanted to be moved not take it upon her self and move us wherever she wanted . I'm so annoyed today!!!

Just Flew in from Louisiana was recommended this place for a good hearty breakfast. We came hungry and our server took our order and that food came out quick! The food was delicious and it was a nice chill spot to get our morning started.

Celebrating my best friend's 3 yr sobriety anniversary today
Jon H.

Went to breakfast with my best friend who I've know since I was 16, to celebrate his 3 yr sober anniversary and had a great time (as always). The stories we relive each time we get together have us dying!...and wondering how we avoided extended jail time back in the day :D The food is great and the decor inside is very welcoming. Service was great and done with a smile. Scale of 1 - 10, I'll keep coming back time and time again.

First time at the Mesa location and I have to say...we think it's better than the one we've been to in Chandler. Met a big bunch of friends here for a recent after-the-holidays brunch and our group, which was eight people were accommodated with nothing but gracious people wanting to make our experience impeccable! Funny story...we didn't have a reservation and one friend showed up first and got a table and then the second friend showed up without seeing our first friend and they sat her at a big table towards the back, behind the pony wall. Once we all realized, we moved to the back table because it would be easier to hear everyone and if we got loud, we wouldn't bother anyone! Our server was fantastic and I'm realizing now that we don't remember his name. Our friend ended up paying for everyone's meal so don't have a receipt for reference but shout out to the tall young man with beautiful braids! He was so friendly and accommodating and light-hearted, we all loved him. When you are serving a big group, I know it can be a challenge with people's orders, making exceptions, etc. but he handled everything like the pro he is! I took pictures of some of the dishes ordered and everyone said their meals were "yummy", "so good", etc. I ordered my favorite, Eggs Benedict along with the country potatoes. I also changed up my eggs to over-medium because getting a perfect poached egg is challenging in restaurants! Everything was so good, English muffin toasted to perfection, grilled pieces of Canadian Bacon, perfectly good eggs and all covered with their hollandaise sauce. Let's talk about the sauce...it was good but I am a lemon person and didn't find this one very lemony. It was thick and creamy and covered with paprika. I ended up squeezing the lemon from my ice tea to add the savory punchy kick. Wife had the Mocha Latte, which was so crazy beautiful the way they present it. You could see the layering of the chocolate, the cream, the coffee and all topped with whipped cream. She loved it! She also had Lemon Blueberry Pancakes, which came with two big cakes, topped with a creamy lemon cream cheese icing and lots of blueberries. Came with a couple of crispy bacon strips and she also ordered over-medium eggs. She loves dessert for breakfast and between her latte and this dish, she was in sweet heaven! Others ordered lunch with the patty melt and the BLT and one ordered off the children's menu (French toast with eggs and bacon). And one friend had the Euro Crepe Breakfast, which was decadent. I had a small taste of the crepe and it was light and airy and really good. Overall a great meal for everyone and a great experience at this location. It's way bigger than you would think looking at it from the outside and they can accommodate larger groups easily.

First visit Saturday 11/23:24. Nice place that's hidden behind Home Depot. Looks like industrial park, just look for the awning over the door. Pictures near bathroom during its heyday in the 90s. No wait and we got water & coffee quickly. Waitress was nice & attentive. I got the Beggaomelette with pancakes (small up-charge) & husband got the greek omelette. Both were delicious. I also ordered their special pumpkin latte. It was just OK... not enough pumpkin or spice for me.

Thrill of the Grill
Steven C.

Used to come all the time for years, and moved and kinda got out of the routine. Stopped by with my gf and had sandwiches. Me the thrill of the grill, and a bruschetta chicken for her. Fantastic. And I'm rarely impressed with restaurants. As good as it was 20 years ago, and wait staff was friendly, quick and conversational. Highly recommended.

I didn't care to listen to the music while I was eating. Ordered fried cod fish special and chicken fried steak dinner (since they don't do breakfast). Fried fish was nice and crispy. Came with coleslaw which I thought was pretty good and fries were nothing special just crinkled fries. My chicken fried steak was decent size, nice and crispy. The mash potato and gravy was OK. Gravy could have used more seasoning, I don't ever put salt on my food but I was tempted. But mixed with fried steak balanced it out little bit. I also opted for soup of the day which was Albondiga. Soup was not quite Albondiga but it wasn't too bad. Over the atmosphere was nice minus random people singing. Food was for me just ok, lacked in flavor. I would give this place 3 and half but definitely not 4 worthy for me. I probably won't come here again.

It feels very hipster and very retro and it just has so much personality. There is a lot of outdoor seating in what is essentially a front yard. There are tables and string lights and lots of trees and there are even a couple of playground horses. When you walk in there is a hostess desk kind of pieced together with different pieces of furniture and above it is a turning disco ball. Could there be anything better? There are booths all the way around, and there are no tables - - but you can sit at the long counter and watch your food being made. That really is the best place to sit because it is so interesting to watch them. It's amazing to me that they can keep all those balls in the air and still make all this food so delicious. There is a small bar off to one side. Make sure you go to the bathroom. The bathroom is nothing special, just a room full of graffiti and stickers, but if you look up you'll see the ceiling covered with little pinatas and a little donkey in the hallway. The menu is just what you would think for a diner menu. You can order breakfast or some sandwiches, burgers, Mac and cheese, and there is a selection of dinner entrees. Sitting at the counter we saw a plate with a steak being prepared and it looked absolutely fantastic. We were not really very hungry, and just wanted a quick small bite. Have you got that Welcome Burger, and I got the Sasha. Hubby said his Burger was good, although it was quite small. The Sasha has smoked pork and they put the pork on the grill and it becomes a crispy kind of Patty of shredded pork, then they put the crispy shredded pork patty on a noble bun with coleslaw and a fantastic horseradish sauce. My sandwich was a 10 out of 10 for sure! I kind of feel like in Phoenix there are some areas that you can go to or not, but welcome diner is a place that everybody should go to at least once. I really want to go back for breakfast which is kind of shocking because I'm not a breakfast person.

Before we could sit down, a waitress abruptly warned us that rain was expected in three minutes, that the dining room had no available seating, and that pets were not allowed inside. My friend even tapped on the ordering window and was ignored. When the same waitress finally returned, I asked for a Bloody Mary, and she appeared noticeably disappointed that we had decided to stay. Her response was an incredulous, "You're staying???" We explained that we were willing to take our chances with the weather, at which point she informed me that they were out of Bloody Mary mix. I then requested waters. Another 10 minutes passed before she dropped off the waters without taking our order. After another 10 minutes without service, we left, having spent approximately 30 minutes feeling ignored and unwelcome. We found a much better experience across the street, where we enjoyed attentive service, delicious food, and a welcoming dog-friendly patio. I understand that weather, seating limitations, and restaurant policies may be beyond a server's control. How guests are treated is not. For a restaurant called Welcome Diner, the irony was especially disappointing.
