I have eaten at CB for many years including years in TN. I have tried this Springfield location several times & it's so inconsistent with service and food. Tonight it took 20 minutes for anyone to take our order & they were out of several vegetable sides. I asked for ice for my tea, didn't get it. I got here after 9pm and was on my way well before 6am so there was no opportunity to eat a meal this time. Cracker Barrel supports the RV lifestyle by allowing RVers to use their parking lots with the polite request (but not requirement) that we purchase a meal. I didn't on this particular stop but did later on my journey. Clean parking lot, reasonably quiet considering that it's close to major roads. But this late at night and it was good enough! About 20 minutes after we ordered were told we would have to wait 20 more minutes for meatloaf that four of our nine people had ordered, or they could all reorder. We decided to have them bring everything else and bring meatloaf when done. Ten to fifteen minutes later part of food came out. It was all lukewarm to cold. Thirty minutes after we were told twenty minutes on the meatloaf we asked to speak to manager. She came to the table with an attitude, and no apologies. She was also the one that had told us twenty minutes originally. She ended up taking the meals off that were missing and had the waitress bring the missing meatloaf to go. The House salad was a total let down, bacon is cold and uncooked, the greens cucumber and cherry tomatoes were fresh but the Buttermilk ranch was tasteless and it had texture from being frozen thawed out and then mixed back in no flavor. Like how can anyone mess up a salad right? So I definitely didn't eat my salad (still paid for it but will never eat here again). The cheese burger was just ok, the bun was dried out, tomatoes were old too and we only ate bc we were starving. Waitress was not attentive but I still gave her a 15% tip. After a disappointing experience in Kansas City that made my fiancé and I never want to try Cracker Barrel again (we were seated and then no one served us for 20 minutes, not even drink orders), we were in Springfield for a day trip and drove by. We remembered what we wanted to order that day in Kansas City and then decided to give CB a second chance. I went to this CB several times in the late 2010s and prayed the service was still good because I didn't have it in my heart to be disappointed by CB again. We were immediately seated and greeted by the best, kindest, most genuine server we have seen in years and years. She was so nice while at the same not being too invasive with our lives. She checked in on us several times and I really felt like she took care of us! The chicken was great but we both admitted it could be a bit more crispy. The mashed potatoes and gravy were great. 'Guess this is my last trip to cracker barrel. 'Right away noticed new menu's since last time. Pretty much always means prices have changed (gone up). This was not an exception. Price have gone up considerably. While portion sizes have gone down. Apparently, that new ceo was pissed off when she didn't get her way to go "woke" Here's the deal; go as "woke" as you want. You can raise prices. Or you can reduce portions. You can't do both and keep me as a customer. The food we got was good (not exceptional. Good). But they were very careful not to give us too much. My wife had to ask for condiments that normally come with what she ordered. There was no question. No suggestion. Nothing. Some wouldn't even know that you could get condiments. The reason it didn't automatically come with the meal according to the waitress, was they were wasted before. But she could still ask, couldn't she? Next was a member of the staff that was coming through moving chairs and sweeping while INTENTIONALLY making as much noise as humanly possible doing it. I've heard cars crashing, that made less noise and craeted less of a disturbance. Several customers got up and left. 'Didn't appear that they were done with their meal. But they left anyway. My wife and I were about to do the same. But apparently he finished before we decided to leave. He was obviously upset about having to clean the area and straighten chairs and tables. Which brings me to my next issue. These are typically clean restaurants. This one, not so much. I would be hard pressed to guess when the windows were last cleaned. I know "windows" seems nit-picky. But these are difficult to look through without losing your appetite. There's dirt and spider webs on the outside and (probably kids') finger prints on the inside. read more

Had a horrible dinner tonight it was my second wedding anniversary it started out great I ordered an orange mimosa she brought me back peach I went ahead and drank it then I ordered my rare steak we waited at least 45 minutes for the steak it was medium at best. Nancy our waitress was very kind , she could she made sure that we got another steak and that my husband's dinner was re-cooked so that we could eat our anniversary dinner together still all in all I feel like they made me feel like I was throwing a fit, the manager finally brought me out a rare steak full of gristle I should have guessed that they wouldn't have gave me a good steak after I complained about the first one regardless it wasn't even busy in there . However we were in a 36 ft rv towing a car and all the rv spots were taken up with cars and there were plenty of other places for car. We just left this cute, country.restaurant on a busy Saturday night. The food was down-home delicious. Three at our table ordered meatloaf, a meal I soon realized that I cannot do at home nearly as well. For the undecided diner among us the combo with beef chicken and shrimp was a hit. The service provided by Vonte was wonderful. We did not expect to eat and run, but still we really appreciated the online waitlist option. Came here on Sept 13 with a group of 16 for a family members Birthday dinner. We encountered an issue with a family member that has a latex allergy. She asked management to see the gloves used in the food prep area the manager Mike refused. We asked our servers if they could just take a picture of the box so she can read it. They went to their manager Mike again. He came back out still refusing to even take a picture just so she can read it herself. When the food came out some plates were cold, some plates the gravy was burnt. Others was just okay. We have been to this location and this was by far our worst experience with staff and food. Because of them refusing to let her read the box of gloves her and her husband did not eat. On our way to the register she stopped and spoke with a female manager named Marcy. She was very nice and stated there was no reason for Mike to act like that. It wasn't an issue to let her read the back of the box of gloves. By mike doing this they have lost the business of 5 people for life. If you have allergies of any type I would completely avoid this restaurant. They are unwilling to meet your needs. read more

I got the pot roast shepherd's pie with the hash brown crust. We got it on our grub hub order and I thought it was one of the best dishes I had ever eaten. The food arrived warm and everything was excellent but the pot roast pie was outstanding! We are Senior citizens who are both recovering from hospital stays. We needed something nutritious that was quality food. We wanted something that was comforting and satisfying. Our Cracker Barrel order took care of both requirements. I don't usually get too enthusiastic about Cracker Barrel but the food and service was just spot on today. We're just passing through Mo. on our way to Oklahoma and stopped for breakfast. Both hubby and I got the Smokehouse breakfast and daughter got biscuits and gravy. Our waitress heard my daughter say she didn't want breakfast meat with her meal (it comes with it) so I asked my daughter if I could have hers and when meals arrived, the bacon was already on my plate! Our waitress gave my husband an order of biscuits and gravy which we didn't think came with the meal ordered but it was a delightful surprise. Coffee was quick to be refilled and our waitress checked on us several times so we never had to wait for anything. My over easy eggs were perfect as were the grits I drowned in butter and maple syrup. Probably the best cooked bacon I've ever had at a Cracker Barrel and the sausage patties that were part of my meal were perfectly cooked. We love Cracker Barrel BUT... Highly disappointed with this location. I called 4 times to place a to-go order. First time, I got put on hold and then hung up on after waiting 10:50. Second time, I got put on hold and then the call ended. Third time, I got put on hold after explaining my previous calls and then was sent back to the lady that said "40 min wait" and then hung up before I could talk.... Fourth time, they answered and said "we can't take your order - we're too busy" and then hung up. What type of customer service is this!? I only called four times because of how much my family likes the food but my gosh.... Just tell me the first time you're too busy. Before I tried calling in the order, I tried ordering online and got to the end and it said this location isn't taking online orders. Again, tell me at the beginning! Definitely don't waste your time here with the horrible service. I'll find another Cracker Barrel with quality service.
