The food is right on the mark, Cajun and delicious. Just like being in New Orleans. Staff is kind, and attentive. Not gonna lie, the place is gorgeous, but lacks the Bayou feel that you'd expect. My wife and I have been meaning to try the Crab Pub for several months. We finally decided to give it a try. We ordered the fried pickles, Combo 3 with King Crab, clam chowder and a shrimp entree. The first thing I noticed was the salt. Both the fried pickles and the Combo was extremely salty. It seemed to overpower everything. It really killed the king crab. The other thing we noticed is the shrimp was over cooked. It was almost soggy, which is a common mistake with shellfish. I will say the clam chowder was decent. For the price, I would have expected better. Needless to say we were disappointed and probably won't have the Crab Pub in our rotation. read more

Love this place. Been around to quite a few of the crab boil spots in San Diego and this one stands out, mainly for the quality and consistency of their boil. Others are hit and miss and sometimes the seafood quality isn't great. Crab pub has been excellent each time. Service was excellent and prices are fair. It seems like others have raised prices to outrageous levels so this place seems cheaper. Also, it's huge so we've never had a wait. Would highly recommend them! read more

We had dinner here as a "date night" and I could NOT have been happier! They have an endless selection of beers on tap and the atmosphere was perfect for a nice dinner date. Service was so professional and I really appreciated the polite demeanor of all of the young people that served us. Now to the food...The food was excellent! I did not expect the quality of the food at this location. If you like boils, they have some of the best seafood that I have eaten. Seafood was overcooked, so disappointed in the snow crab. Battle wounds from attempting to get the meat out...stringy and not succulent like we remembered. Shrimp was on point, missed on fried okra-blobs of uncooked batter and old oil taste. Waitress never checked on us during the meal, no drink refills, she walked over with 1 plastic fork for us to share and we had wave her down multiple times to pay our overpriced bill. The restaurant was very nice and spacious. As soon as you walk through the door you smell the Cajun seasoning. I also, got to meet the manager when he came over to check on our table. The manager was super nice and so was his staff. I haven't been to a restaurant like that in Oceanside, Ca in a while. Now, let's talk about the bomb Cajun Shrimp Pasta... just delicious. My husband ordered a pound of shrimp with potatoes with extra spicy sauce.. delicious as well!!! My 3 year old ate a pound of shrimp all by himself!! My 11 year old had the chicken tender basket and left nothing in the basket. Thank you Crab Pub Crew in Oceanside, CA for making our experience the best. Recently saw this restaurant as I was driving by and, being from the south, I had to try it! We got the Dungeness Crab, Fried Okra, Headless Boiled Shrimp, and some Hush Puppies. Everything was absolutely amazing! It was a little spicy even though we asked for mild, but I think it was the sauce (which even my 4 year old couldn't stop eating!) You can get it plain or with garlic butter instead, but their signature sauce was perfection! We will definitely be going back! read more

Okay let me start by saying the first four times we came here everything was great, staff, food, time of orders coming, cleanliness. All of it . But the last time we went we were a bit confused .. Either they cracked down on portioning and before that they did way too much, or the cook working didn't know what was what. We got an obvious amount less then any visit before that. . We still haven't went back been at least two months and we get crab at least twice a month.. We had a party of 12 with some members who do not eat seafood, yet they really enjoyed themselves. The only thing I would request is more than one pasta option and perhaps an option for grilled chicken instead of just chicken tenders. Our waitress Momo was the absolute best and made no errors with our large party of 12. My favorite crab place. I've tried several in the Garden Grove area and this place has the best flavored spice. My go to is the pub style mild. If you love garlic, this is IT!!! The seafood tastes fresh and the sausages are delicious! They are quick in bringing out your food and are generous with garlic pieces in the sauce! Its dangerous that it's so close to my home.
