We ordered Two appetizers we were surprised and enjoyed the twist of chips with the avocado dip and the bone marrow was tasty. Two cocktails ordered, voodoo lady was spot on, Into the mountains was pretty good as well. The bad: is out of five dishes ordered only one dish was liked by everyone the steak risotto was very good. Fish and chips, the fish was overly fried not moist the fries were good. The scallops, well okay the tamale cakes/corn fritter? disappointing, this doesn't go with the dish. The Peruvian chicken not what we expected, the mashed potatoes tasted like butter, the broccolini was soggy, not crispy and butter drowned. The steak was good, the mashed potatoes were heavy on butter, and the broccolini, soggy and too much butter. A hefty charge for food that was sub par. I'm a fan of Coyne's! I have only been here twice but we are 2/2 and it's a place I want to keep returning to! The first time I came for lunch and had the brisket sandwich. Brisket sandwich was delicious! I devoured the whole thing. Second time we can on a Sunday and it was still brunch. I was kind of bummed out the brunch menu goes so late - until 3pm and I wasn't a big fan of the options but I went with the burger and my husband had the chicken sandwich. We also enjoyed the 2 for 1 cocktails. I had 2 here and now drinks and my husband tried 2 different whiskey drinks. Delicious! The burger was bomb as was the chicken sandwich. We really enjoyed dinner here on a Saturday night. The restaurant was bustling with people and our server was spectacular. The bread rolls were fresh and the accompanying the butter was delicious. We also had the Flautas Poblano and those were delectable. The right blend of crunch and delicate flour tortilla with a savory sauce. The Peruvian chicken was EVERYTHING. Absolutely delicious - they run out though so be sure to get there in good timing. We also had the Coconut Ginger pasta with chicken - it was ok. Stopped by yesterday at Coyne's in Eagle. It is right next to the new Homewood Suites hotel that is still under construction. The patio was a great place to enjoy their Happy Hour that is 2-5 pm daily. One of the photos I posted has the food menu and the drinks are BOGO. Included in the photos is a shot of the bill so you can see the value. The brisket taco plate was the star of the show. We would order two or more of those on any return visit. Lovely smoked brisket, fresh avocado and the cotija cheese really sets it apart from the Happy Hour taco options at other Treasure Valley places. We loved the tap beer choices and indulged in Stella Artois, Guinness and Schilling Cider. Service from Clara was impeccable and the cleanliness & spacing made us comfortable with all the BS about COVID. The Ahi Nachos were quite interesting. Nice cubes of fresh ahi siting on triangular wontons. The Tobiko (flying fish roe) was a great touch. It is a little challenging to eat neatly, but the flavors were terrific. Nice departure from sushi and sashimi which seem to be on a lot of HH menus. We could not recommend the Curry Lettuce wraps. Curried chicken was nice, the butter lettuce was better than the hearts of Romaine that typically accompany wraps. The addition of sriracha is a mistake. Its flavor fights with the curry and the two don't merge well together. Too much spice and going in opposite directions. We can eat really hot foods like Thai Chili and habaneros, but this was just unbalanced spice. It did not complement the butter lettuce, just overpowered it. This experiment leaves us wanting to go back, soon, to try the other items on the HH menu. read more

The story: Went for dinner then the next day for brunch because we had such a fabulous time. It was my fiancés birthday and they allowed me to place flowers at the table ahead of time without question. The players: Angel lived up to her name at brunch. Spot on recommendations with a side of flawless menu knowledge. The gentleman the night before was tall, quirky, and an absolute gem. He was enthusiastic and left the table spotless. As a former restaurant opening manager for 5 years--I was blown away. The main course: The Peruvian chicken was a touch dry but the seasoning was on point and portion size was large. The sauce that came with it made my head spin. The potatoes are Idaho boy approved with a beautiful texture gushing with large tater chunks with creamy butter delight. The green beans were cooked to perfection. Brunch--holy shit--blueberry avocado toast with the most. Chimichanga made me go bonkers. Flavors were forming and flipping and flying and fulfilling this famished families' restless hunger. The recommendation: Go here for great service, unique menu items done well, and a charming ambiance in the Eagle Idaho area. Well done Coyne's, well done. read more

Living in Eagle we are happy to have more dinning options than 10 years ago. Coynes is on our rotation (along with Crave, Bacquet's, Davinci's, Bardenay, Rembrants, Stuffed Olive, and new comer Spitfire). Food - My favorites are the fish tacos, chicken flautas with poblano sauce, and the gumbo. My wife enjoys the chicken curry chop salad but I am not a big fan. Angel's bar and grill had the best so I compare it to that one. Steaks are good too. Happy hour - one of the best in Eagle. Ambiance is upscale and the patio is always warm since they have heaters and side protection. Service- usually spot on. Prices- Competitive so no complaints read more

I reported on Resy but hadn't heard bk fr mgr, so decided I unfortunately need to update my review... after multi fantastic meals with big & small groups, solo, all on their fab patio... in all types of weather... tonight's melon drink was ick (flavorless) my guests salad was drenched so badly in dressing that he chose not to eat most of it nor take hm, my spasta was ok, but the worst was the untoasted "crustini" app... we had requested 1/2 or all on gf bread... came out very sloppy on untoasted gf buns... the olives were oddly flavorless & dumped arbitrarily on... w/a slice of mushroom included? & raw cherry tomatoes (vs tomato slices, making eating the app ridiculously hard to eat...), minimal greens & small flavorless dollop of again flavorless cheese... now I'm a trooper & my guest was gracious & waitress was ok... but I was so embarrassed as I'd raved about this restaurant ... & I had to call attention to my water multi times (& I'm a slow drinker!) & had to ask for the check... I'm just u sure if I'm willing to go back... thankfully I didn't notice others complaining, so hopefully it was just our prep chef or something? read more

For dinner, I had the Citrus Salmon and we shared three desserts - the Crème Brûlée, Vanilla Ice cream with bourbon caramel glaze, and the Bacon Pound Cake. Visited from SoCal and was so happy to have eaten at Coyne's. It reminded me of one of our favorite places back home called Houston's. We started with the guacamole which I thought would include tortilla chips but instead it was served with potato slices that were slightly thick but yet crispy enough to scoop up the guacamole. The amount of cracked salt and pepper on the slices made them extra delicious. We ate there two different times and both times were equally as good. Great service, ambiance, beautiful night setting with a big fireplace out on the covered patio and a beautiful bar. Classy place. Just left brunch at Coynes, and the manager and serving team all allowed a customer to have his large snake slithering around his body, neck, head, and even the wall behind him while he was seated at a table. This is not something people want to see while they are eating at a restaurant, nor is that sanitary!! As someone who owns snakes; they are prone to carrying salmonella, which is obviously something a restaurant should be very careful about. Coyne's has some fabulous and inventive dishes. I had the Fig & Truffle Burger for lunch (8 oz. American kobe beef patty, white truffle cheddar, mushroom duxelles, bacon-fig jam and arugula on a panko brioche bun). It was delish and highly recommended. Then I went back for happy hour and had the brisket tacos and Basil Ruth. Great prices and perfect for the hot summer weather. Seating on the patio is completely shaded. Our service was friendly and impeccable. Since it was so hot outside, she refilled our water glasses before they were empty to keep us hydrated. Keep in mind HH is 2:00-5:00 but worth it. This was our first time coming to Coynes and we will definitely be back. We truly tried a little bit of everything! The cocktails were tasty, we did the ahi tuna appetizer and guacamole to start. Both were so good. Then for dinner my boyfriend ordered the Short Rib Ragú and I got the Short Rib Colorado. Our friends both had steak entrees and said they were great. I switched to a nice glass of Merlot with my main course and finished the evening with a LBV Port. My friend raved about the Oreo cheesecake. Our server was great and attentive! read more

On a recent stay in Eagle we ate here twice. First night we got take out of Beet salad, fig and truffle burger, chicken avocado club. Our sides were sweet potato waffle fries and chicken gumbo. The burger and sandwich were just OK but the fries and beet salad excellent. The next night we had reservations for dinner. Be aware there is no social distancing of tables in this place and it was packed. The staff all wore masks. In our party of three we had Charcuterie Board appetizer, Halibut, Scallops, and Jerk Chicken. Everyone was very pleased with their main course. The charcuterie board was not impressive at all - so much so that the server really didn't bother to explain what was on the board. It was really not a good value at all. I do recommend this place. Just be aware that the food is very good but in my opinion not a great value. read more

I loveeee Coynes. It's so far my favorite restaurant in Eagle. I highly recommend their poke bowl. The potatoes and guacamole is super delicious too. I'm not usually a fan of restaurants bread and butter but Coynes is actually worth it. The churro waffle is to die for and their cocktails are amazing!! Everything here has been delicious. I took off one star for service because all three times I've been in the drinks have taken foreverrrr to come. We end up getting our app before our drinks which I really don't like. Other than that the service has been friendly. The patio is nice but I also like sitting inside as well. Overall a great establishment. read more

We have been to Coyne's about a dozen times since it was first recommended to us. Brunch, Lunch and dinners here- plus have come here for special events. The food has always been great and the drinks on point. It's clean, modern and warm atmosphere, great patio for nice days eating al fresco. For Brunch- they do not have a kids menu but my children have always gotten the classic breakfast with eggs, bacon, toast and potatoes. The potatoes are my kids favorites. Staff is always accommodating and split the dish between two younger kids which is always appreciated. My only wish is that they would have a small kids menu so they could have more variety. We have had most of the Benedict's and they are always good. I recently had the sopes divorciados. I was pleasantly surprised that they were made with fresh masa. Overall fairly good. The sauces that came it were mild in flavor. Lunch and dinner have been great. We have had the brisket sandwich- good, Peruvian chicken (hit and miss- Sometimes it's very juicy and flavorful and sometimes a little dry), lobster pasta was delicious, pear salad- great, beet salad- great, fig glazed pork- delicious, miso salmon- good. Drinks have been very well made- nothing too strong or overpowering. One thing to note is that they card you for drinks no matter how old you look . We have been carded 9/10 times. We will keep coming for the nice atmosphere and great food and service. read more

Can't say enough great things about this restaurant! We were recently recommended to try this place for our anniversary. Well, we did and it exceeded our expectations. My wife got the miso salmon and I got the flat iron steak. Both of which were incredible. The bar is beautiful and the lighting makes for an intimate setting. Went to Coyne's for an early lunch on Saturday, 11/16. We thought they had brunch but found out it's only on Sunday. We made the best of it as we were all hungry and headed to an event at the Idaho Expo. There were four adults, and three kids, seven, four and nineteen months. Did i mention we were hungry? Because of the loud littles we sat out by the fireplace and it was great with the heaters. Lex was our server and if I could give her ten stars on a scale of five I would. She was awesome!! Although the food was a little dicey for kids, we were all able to order something, and it was great. The fish and chips were really good, the gumbo was delicious, and my husband really enjoyed the poke. Lex even had the chef put together buttered noodles for the baby. Coyne's On 12/4/20, I and MW visited Coyne's in Eagle. We were meeting for a late lunch/early dinner but decided to order off the Happy Hour menu, which has some of their most popular dishes. We also shared a dessert. Chicken Gumbo - Peanut butter roux, Cajun chicken with andouille sausage, okra and jasmine rice ($3). This was our favorite appetizer. It had a good flavor and generous chunks of chicken. I would order it again. Flautas Poblano- Rotisserie chicken, Oaxaca cheese, fried flour tortillas, roasted chili cream, scallions and cilantro ($6). I expected this to be my favorite appetizer but it was my second favorite. I don't know that I would order it again though. The presentation is lovely but I've never had a poblano dish that had so little flavor. This would be a great dish for your friend who thinks they like Mexican food but afraid of anything that has the barest hint of spice or heat. Brisket Tacos - Four smoked brisket street tacos with guacamole, lettuce, pico de gallo and cojita ($6). We ordered this dish so we could try the brisket and the guacamole. We weren't impressed with either. Curry Lettuce Wraps - Butter lettuce, rotisserie chicken, curry dressing, green apple and chow mein noodles ($5). This was MW's second favorite appetizer. I think the flavor combo is interesting but it would be better if it didn't have the splash of Sriracha on top. A little bit of Sriracha goes a long way and quickly overpowers the dish. I suggest you remove most of it. This issue could be remedied by the cook mixing Sriracha with sour cream and drizzling a Sriracha Crema on top. Brown Butter Pound Cake - Bourbon salted caramel, candied bacon ($10). This is the restaurant signature dessert. Caramel is not my personal favorite but if you want a dessert that packs an explosion of flavor, this is it. We both enjoyed this unique dessert. I would be willing to go back and give Coyne's another try, this time ordering something off of the regular lunch or dinner menu, but there are a lot of other new restaurants that I am eager to check out first, as well as restaurants I have already visited that I would prioritize over revisiting Coyne's. read more
