I always enjoy coming to Cowboy Chicken, so my husband and I decided to have a date night and try the new mac and cheese bowls -- and they were amazing! The customer service is always great, and the restaurant is consistently clean. The bowls were very hearty with the mac and cheese, but the only downside was that my husband and I both wished there was a bit more meat. Had no clue what Cowboy chicken was, never heard of this place before. Brother in law mentioned going there. I was a bit hesitant because I'm super picky with chicken. I hate dry or tasteless chicken. This chicken was a most, tasty treat. It's a regular for us. Their sides (fried okra (chefs kiss) as is everything else. I just really perfectly fried okra .. their cucumber jalapeño lemonade!! Yes please! It's kinda pricey but not really. I keep going back. read more

My daughter in law went for an interview at this place yesterday. The manager was very rude and very discriminative. The music in there is always really loud.And when she was trying to talk to the man during the interview , he could not hardly hear her. He then started degrading her telling her that she looked like she belonged in one of the smoke shops or she should try to get a job as a stalker at walmart. I didn't realize that discrimination was still a thing, and you're not supposed to discriminate for age, religion or looks or any of that.And yet this man did. I'll use a comparison to start out this review. Cowboy Chicken is about what Boston Market should have aspired to be back in the day. I would have ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich, but they were out of buffalo sauce, so I went with the three piece dark chicken meal. Chicken had decent flavor, but the pieces were scrawny. The mashed potatoes I ordered as one of my sides weren't really mashed very well. The fried okra was the best part of the meal. If I had bitten into the fried okra, and it didn't taste crispy as if they had fried it fresh, I would've complained inside the store. Add a dinner roll and a large drink, and I paid 16 bucks for all of that. I'd say that's a bit overrated. Even with the four star rating I'm giving for the good things that they did do, like the quiet atmosphere, the acceptable service and the rotisserie cooking the chicken in the back, it seems like they barely got that four stars. read more

Then, once we asked about it, we were kinda flippantly, offered to talk to the manager, who was at the end of the bar, but never said a word to us. Now he's in front of us with another customer. Kind of arguing the merits of some kind of complaint. Not very good customer service. 25 minutes later, still waiting..... Until we asked there was no explanation why it was taking so long. I've always loved Cowboy Chicken, but after today's experience, I won't ever return -- especially while the current manager (who told me his name was Tim) is employed. I ordered directly through their website for delivery to my job. When my food arrived, I was missing both my drink and my side of beans. I called the store, and the young woman who answered said the manager was at the bank but would call me back. While waiting, I called Uber since they were listed as the delivery provider, but after being transferred around, they told me I had to go through the restaurant because the order wasn't placed through them. I called Cowboy Chicken back, and the same girl said the manager told her it wasn't their problem. I asked to speak to him directly. After being put on hold for several minutes, he finally answered. When I explained the situation calmly, he rudely told me it wasn't his responsibility and that I needed to deal with the delivery service. When I said I'd reach out to corporate, he said, "That's fine," and then hung up on me. After that, no one answered when I called back. This was the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I wasn't asking for anything free -- just a refund for the items I paid for and didn't receive. Instead, I wasted my entire lunch break trying to get help and was treated with total disrespect. Cowboy Chicken, do better. Treat your customers with the basic decency they deserve. We pay to much money to not receive what we pay for with no resolution. The food I did receive was amazing the customer service was disgusting! My job uses the to cater from time to time for 80-100 assoc. that business is lost. read more

The food is awesome but the service was not so great. We watched the manager go to each table of the customers checking on them and talkping and NOT one time did he frequent our table to see how our dining experience was. The desert (peach cobbler) was not so good. The cobbler tasted under cooked on the crust and the peaches were almost mushy. The ambiance needs work. read more

Was over in Longview today and decided to try Cowboy Chicken for the first time. I really wanted the strawberry lemonade but they were out so I went with sweet tea. When I went back for a refill they were out of sweet tea and still no lemonade so I had to make a different selection. The food was okay but didn't blow us away. I had a Monterey salad and my husband got the bbq chicken sandwich. The chicken was moist but lacked flavor. The flavor came from the dressing and bbq sauce. The restrooms needed some attention. The one I went into had something gross streaking down the walls. It looked like pee but I'm not sure what it was...it needs a good scrubbing. Also I saw what appeared to be the manager go to the store to pick something up and when he came back he parked his truck in two spots. Kinda inconsiderate in my opinion. read more

Whenever I enter this restaurant I am immediately hit with the mouth-watering aroma of the wood-fired rotisserie chickens which you can view through the glass doors of the indoor fire pit. As I wait for our food to be delivered to our table, I find it mesmerizing to watch the whole chickens slowly rotating to perfection in front of the pieces of glowing-hot wood and embers within the fire. I wish we had a Cowboy Chicken closer to where I live. They routinely change up the menu and I find that bitter-sweet. I miss some of the items they removed but I also love their new offerings and I realize that they can't allow their menu size to expand out of control. I love to try at least one new item whenever I visit and I've never had anything here that I didn't like. Their rotisserie chicken is always fall-of-the-bone moist and tender with plenty of flavor but without being too salty. Their chickens are all hormone-free. Their french fries and fried okra are not dried out but are crispy and perfect on the outside. The mac n cheese is flavorful and not like something made from a box.Their chicken enchiladas are a bit different from the typical but are delicious. The salads are awesome and in convenient bite-sized pieces which is something I wish many other restaurants would learn is desirable for the customer as I hate having to cut my lettuce. Ok, instead of writing a book, I will just say it again. It's ALL good. Oh but do NOT pass on the peach cobbler with ice cream. Ya hear me? If you do, it will be your own fault because I warned ya. The restaurant is maintained clean and the condiments and such are always kept up well. Something else that really stands out here is how friendly and helpful all the workers are, especially the manager...top notch. I find Cowboy Chicken to be a good value for the amount of food I get and I always leave with a feeling of pure contentment in my tummy and I like the friendly atmosphere. We visited on a Wednesday night about 6pm. Walked in to an empty dining room. It was our first visit. The staff was really nice and helpful. Everything was clean. We ordered 3 meals, 2 for adults and 1 child's meal. The meals were delivered pretty timely. And steaming, but the strange thing is Al of our food was cold in the middle. The roasted chicken was hot and the Mexican corn was hot. Everything else on all of the orders was cold. We probably won't go back. read more

Unfortunately I placed an order to go otherwise I would not have accepted such a poor excuse for a meal. Corn fritters were old, the roll was rock hard on the bottom and the chicken was so dry I could not eat it. Plenty of workers standing around but no one even acknowledges people coming in. The only person working is the very tall guy cleaning tables in the lobby. I'm a rotisserie chicken fanatico, but this place is a little harsh. Chicken was dry not much flavor. Sweet tea was ok but something funny tasting about it. The fried okra tastes like what it was sitting next to in the freezer. Now I can live with all of that no problem. HOWEVER... the menu says " loaded baked potato", now every Citizen in these United States (with the exception of a few in cook county) knows what a loaded baked potato is supposed to be. When you order it at the register, you get some sort of disclaimer on what the thing is or supposed to be, but what it actually is hash browns with some sort of flavoring. I should not be surprised that these hash browns now identify as trans-loaded baked potato. read more
