This was my first time trying this location and it was just pretty meh. We did an online order and arrived slightly after the time the order was due for pickup but it still wasn't ready. The waitress seemed to could care less about finding out what the ho,d up was and never came back to let me know anything. I ended up having to give them a call from inside the store. I'm not sure what the problem is, short of staff or just terrible customer service. The sandwiches we ordered were just okay but not as great as the ones we've had in Dallas. This was my first time eating here, they don't have them where I'm from! I was on the way to Cane's when I decided to try something new. When I walked in, the restaurant was clean and I was the only one there. The cashier greeted me with a smile and upon knowledge that I had not been there before she helped me navigate the menu. I sat outside and my food came quick but not too quick where I worried it wasn't fresh. The star loss came from the wings. I wish they were crispier. The lemonade was AMAZING! We have tried everything from the Wings to the Chicken Tenders to the Chicken & Waffles to the Fried Pickles, the Fries and even ending with the Chocolate Mason Jar dessert. Really all of it is good. The Fried Pickles are slices but are some good slices. The Waffle is great and Texas shaped. The Tenders are good especially with the sauces to dip in and our favorite is the Cayenne Ranch. Tonight I tried two entrees: The chicken and waffles and a 3+3. The chicken and waffles was quite good. The waffle was very good with a big scoop of butter. The waffle is covered with three chicken tenders and syrup. For the 3+3 we had three plain tenders and three wings with the hot flavor. The wings were ok but I think I would have liked buffalo better. The strips are good and the sweet habanero sauce really made the combo complete. Ok so I'm giving a 3 star because I really didn't like it at all. I let my husband and brother in law eat my meal Because I just didn't like the chicken. I ate a few fries and drank the tea. Tea was only thing I liked. I don't know I just didn't care for the way the chicken was breaded or tasted. I felt like the Tyson chicken I get at Sam's and bake was better. Staff was friendly. Finally got around to trying Slims over the weekend. We liked it, unsure if it would fall into our regular rotation though. Felt pricing was fair-$16 for a 3piece and 5 piece meal. Wish drinks weren't included since we always drink water, but no big deal. I can see how it streamlines things on their end. Steer clear of the Slims sauce!! It is NOT similar to Cane's sauce...it's like a sweet tomato Catalina sauce that doesn't complement the chicken. Go with anything else!!! Chicken is hot, fresh and well seasoned. Even the fried chicken tastes light, and 3 pieces was just big enough to satisfy even this prego! Went with their Mac and cheese as a side. YUM. Sign me up for just a bucket of that next time. It came out hot and bubbling. The Texas toast was nothing special and I should have gotten gravy to dip it in. I almost detected some garlic on it? Regardless, I ate every bite. My husband and I love Slim Chickens, and we usually order through the app and pick up in the drive thru. Great food! However, this week we placed a very large order for curbside pick up. I've never done this before, but when prompted on the app, I selected that I was here and selected the parking space I was in along with the make, model, and color of my vehicle. I waited for 45 minutes, when I decided I needed to go inside to see if my order was ready. I walk inside and see that my order is ready and waiting on the counter. When I asked the lady at the counter, she said it was ready. I told her that I ordered through the app and selected curbside. She said ok, well here are your cups for your drinks and moved onto the next customer. She said, you have to call when you get here and we will bring it out to you. I filled my own drink cups and carried 4 large bags, a full drink carried, plus one more drink out to my truck without any help or an offer to help. We've went every Sunday for the last couple years because they offered a kids meal. I've always like the chicken, although the sauces are not as good as Caine's. But initially it was more affordable and the service was good. The last few months, the service has gotten pretty bad, with several orders not right- so I got to where i'd check the bag before I left the drive thru, so I could get what I ordered, usually while the drive thru people roll their eyeballs at me. Now tonight I went thru and they arbitrially decided to charge full price for the kid's meal, with no warning. When I called them, they said I now have to come into the dining room. The said they've had a sign up for a month, but I was there the previous Sunday and there was no sign...besides, if you've had a policy for more than a year to purchase a kid's meal thru the drive thru you don't just change it one day and not tell people when they order the kids meal. But it's not about the money, it's about the lousy attitude and service. If i'm going to spend 56.00 a month on Sunday chicken, I'll do it at some place with kind, courteous service and no arbitrary rules that actually values my patronage and doesn't act like i'm doing them a favor. BUT the food is just boring and I agree with the previous review about being tasteless. The first visit I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap with fried mushrooms. The wrap was a great size wrap but I couldn't taste buffalo at all - just OK. The Mushrooms were soggy and tasteless. So I gave them a second chance and figured I would try just chicken strips with fries. I asked for strips to be dipped in Buffalo - again barely visible sauce on the strips and fries were just OK. The reason I keep coming back to Slim Chickens is the fact that they now have 17 different sauces. Seventeen!! Most of them are good too. Cayenne ranch is my favorite. Then probably sweet red chile, garlic parmesan, or Korean bbq. They also have some serious consistency. Food is consistently good. That's important to me. I absolutely love this place! I have had both the tenders and wings and I love the fact that the tenders are not really greasy. The sauces are all really good and you have a good variety to choose from. The prices are a little higher than you would expect at fast food, but you get alot of food for your money's worth. Plenty of good choices on the menu and their raspberry tea is really good. They really make you feel at home there so try it if you like good food and tasty desserts in a mason jar.
