I've been coming here for many years, but will not return. It's not because of the food quality, rather the lack of common courtesy and service. Went through the drive-thru around 1:00 on a Thursday. No line or rush. The man at the window simply said, "Yeah". How is that for a welcome, not "Welcome, may I help you", just "Yeah". He returned after my order and simply said, $19.76. No complete sentence, just $19.76. He returned, handed me my order and just shut the window. No, thank you, please come back, or even enjoy your lunch. We were going to get a burger for dinner and pulled into the lot next door to Bodacious Bar-B-Q. We saw and smelled the smoke and quickly changed our minds. We both had the sliced beef (brisket) plates with slaw and potato salad. We got our meals to go and had to warm up the meat a bit when we got back to our camper. Boy! Were we happy we changed our minds about those burgers!! The brisket was moist and flavorful and satisfying! (We got huge portions and had enough left for more than one more meal.). The slaw and potato salad were both really tasty sides. Our only complaint would be that the gentleman who took our order stepped away from us several times without saying anything while we were asking questions about the menu. 3.5 this store has been around since I was a kid. It used to be toe curling eye rolling to the back of your head good. I remember one time my brother and I snuck the bbq sauce and brisket slices onto a plane. TSA didn't catch the pint of sauce in my carry-on, so we were able to have a BBQ picnic in our seats that made the entire flight crew tell us how jealous they were. While Texas is famous for brisket, and theirs is certainly good, they have dialed in the formula for the smoked turkey as far as I'm concerned. I was told that the gentleman who opened this place was personally trained by the founder of Bodacious Bar-B-Q and that they still use the original recipes and methods. The place was bustling with business. We came around 2:00 on a Tuesday afternoon and was amazed that they had a continuous line of customers both inside the store and at the drive-through. I counted five employees and they never stopped moving. They ran this place like a well-oiled machine. The food was absolutely delicious! I had sliced brisket, ribs, and smoked sausage. All three meats were smoked to perfection, juicy and very flavorful. The sides of pinto beans and potato salad were a nice compliment to the meal. My wife ordered the Sloppy Joe sandwich which she said was very good. I know there are several Bodacious BBQs in this part of the country. I was very disappointed with the BBQ at this spot. Ordered turkey, sliced brisket, and ribs. I asked for the "fatty side" of the brisket. It had little bark, was pretty dry and lacked flavor. The ribs were overdone and small. Compared to the tables on each side of us. The turkey was so-so. There was not any garnish (onions and pickles) served or available to enjoy with our meats. I have returned, sadly to say, as much as 3 times in one week with a mother load ofaround sandwich varieties and slabs of ribs to feed demands of outer town family. The sandwiches still have scrumptious meat overload moist and tender. Can't decide on my favorite. Ribs are great breakfast substitute as leftover, just that good. I had never used drive thru. Started March 31...Order Two rib sandwich...When I made it to the house No bread on the 2 order I purchased..I called back and I ask them were they out of bread he said No..I told him I have No bread on each order..I was shorten a rib and it was grease oil everywhere...He told .e to come back..I told him I lived 21 miles from the interstate there and not counting more miles to where they at..so he told me to come back and they will fixed me up..I gave him my name and number.....Move on today 4/5...
