I brought my car there and they called me back saying whoever installed my sterio made a hole in my fire wall, I called the sterio shop and they do not drill holes in cars and asked for courtesy tires number and he talked to them and talked to the guy who was actually working on my car and said there was a tiny hole which was not what they told me so I asked them to stop and they black mailed me into finishing the work when I got my car back they never evan fixed the lek in my car as a matter of fact it was worse.... I'm bringing my car back tomorrow and I want my money back. I will re post what hapens next but I'm sure with there bad business ethics nothing will happen so I will have to take it up with the BBB. read more

I've been taking my car there for oil changes for 20 years (best deal on the West Coast with a coupon--although they give me the same price without it.) The staff has always been friendly, efficient, and willing to help in any way possible--a perfect example of not only meeting, but exceeding customer expectations. We have an oil leak on our 2000 car with 175k miles on it. Kelly worked with us on a very smart approach to 1) clearly identify the issue and 2) come up with multiple options to either fix or not to fix given the age of the car. Went in with my check engine light on and a loud rattle coming from underneath. Knowing this shop has taken care of my vehicle and my girlfriends vehicle I take it them without hesitation. I was told that running diagnostics would be $150 but because I was able to narrow down what I thought was wrong it would be streamlined and perhaps less. I was told they were busy and should hear back by the end of the day. As I'm catching a ride home my truck pulls into the bay. Two hours later I'm told that my o2 sensor was causing the engine light and the rattle was a heatshield on my muffler. The repairs for this would be $140. Can't afford repairs. Next day I put hose clamps on the muffler and fiddle with the o2 sensor wire connectors and the check engine light goes off. I understand time is money but diagnostics was more than a repair and its possible my truck sat in the lot for an hour before they called. This is not the friendly neighborhood mechanic shop I thought they were. I should've just ran to autozone to get the code and then brought the info to courtesy tire. read more

Bought new tires here today and service was terrific. All service personnel were upbeat, very friendly and accommodatiing. They had me in and out installed in 50 minutes. I want to commend and praise the employees of Firestone on California Ave. for coming through for me at the last minute and making it possible for me to attend my cousin's memorial service yesterday. After having experienced surly attitudes, changing prices and a total lack of service at the other major tire store in W.S. (on Fauntleroy) earlier in the day, the Firestone crew came through big time! I've had a slow leak in my driver's side tire and the "other guys" told me it was due to the rim being corroded. I was quoted a price to grind it smooth and was told it could be done by 5p.m. I gave my cell phone number and asked them to call if it was at all possible if it could be done sooner or if there was something they needed, to call me. I received no call, so returned to the shop at 5, to be greeted by the man holding my tire and rim. He told me it couldn't be repaired, but he could sell me 4 reconditioned tires if I'd go pick them up across town. When I asked why he didn't call me, he said he'd tried, but that my message was so long and drawn out that he didn't leave a message. But there was no record on my phone that he'd called at all. I've recently completed renovations on my W.S. hair salon and wasn't in the position to buy 4 tires on the spot. He then handed me the rim and tire and walked away without a word. I considered making the drive to my family in Anacortes on the spare tire, but knew that would be dangerous, so I tried Firestone. It was closing time. I explained my situation and they promptly came out, took my tire, put it on the rim of the spare and all was done in 15 minutes, at a charge of only $20. And with SMILES! I was so grateful. I offered them all a free haircut at my salon, but they said that they'll come get their hair cut and pay for it, because they like to support local businesses. 10 stars. These guys are incredibly honest and hard working. I've had a couple of minor tire issues in the 5 years I've lived here, and each time they've checked them out and given me free advice and the only thing they ever let me pay for was a $5 patch. Until this summer when my tires blew out (thanks Delridge potholes!) and they were super straightforward and efficient about figuring out the problem, explained it to me in understandable terms, and laid out options with respect to budget. They ordered and replaced the tires with lightning speed and I was happy to get to pay them for once. Even if you are an automotive neanderthal like me, you can go here and TRUST that these guys will do excellent work. Old school work ethic and integrity. If Tim runs for president he's got my vote. I've had excellent service at Courtesy Tire on a couple of things. My 05 Acura MDX needed shocks, struts and a tie rod replaced. Another tire place in West Seattle had quoted me about $300 more for the same work and that was their "discounted" price. The car handles and drives so much better after replacing the worn out components. They also repaired a tire on my old now departed Saab, no fuss no muss. read more

Had them put on two new tires, flush transmission, adjust brakes and change oil yesterday. They were very courteous and fair priced. The transmission flush was a little expensive at $199, but compared to Goodyear Tire in West Seattle they were much better from customer service to actual work read more

After a few experiences here, I'm switching. I first went to Courtesy several years ago after reading great reviews and appreciating the friendly service. Several months ago I had to purchase a new (used) car after someone crashed into me, and after the purchase I went back to Courtesy for new tires. A couple of weeks later I was on a work trip in Central Washington and noticed weird brake noise. Stopped in a Les Schwab on the road and realized I had two lug nuts left (out of five!) in one of my rear wheels. Yikes. LS did the brake work and sold me replacement lug nuts. Called Courtesy and they apologized for the near-disaster of my wheel falling off and said to come by when back in town and they'd reimburse me for the lug nuts. At the time I also was replacing my shocks, and they agreed to put swap my new shocks in my old springs at no charge. This week I purchased another used car to replace the previous one, and the guy selling it to me had just run over a screw. I just took that wheel and tire in to Courtesy to get it patched, assuming this would be free since I'm a regular customer and this will now be my daily driver. Person helping me said since that wasn't a tire they sold me, it would be $34+ to patch the tire. Really? Even though you have my three previous cars there in your database? Yep. So I went down the street to Les Schwab, where they said they'd be happy to patch that tire for free. Made an impression. Probably going to LS next time I need tires or brake work. read more

When I take my car into the mechanic, I expect to get it back in at least the same condition as when I dropped it off. After my recent trip to Courtesy Tires, my previously working car is no longer drivable. It turns out Courtesy Tires neglected to put the radiator cap on after servicing our car. After driving just a few blocks, the car began overheating, which it has never done before. We filled the radiator with fluids and thought everything would be fine. However, on our next drive it overheated again so we had it towed back to them. They refused to accept any responsibility for returning the car in faulty condition. Their recommendation was for us to spend over $500 on a new radiator, despite the fact that they had completed a full work up of what needed to be fixed two days before, and the radiator was fine. I'm so disappointed that I will no longer be able to support this local West Seattle business. read more

My experience with them for over the past 8 years has been contrary to that of the other reviewer. This is a neighborhood shop, were the guys are helpful and their main concern is safety. I brought a tire in to have it fixed, they fixed it and when I talked with them they stressed that I needed new tires (which I knew). I asked how quick this could happen - They picked up the phone, called the warehouse and the tires arrived an hour later and my car was good to go. And they of course did not charge me for the tire fix or time. I have never had this kind of promt response from any other service agent. We pulled in one day with a wiper issue, they fixed it on the spot and sent us back into the rain. They have been fixing our households cars: minivan, wagon, the sedan, and now my SUV - They have fixed two cars mechanically after accidents, and do regular maintance. I find them friendly, competant, and with my safety as their top concern. read more
