**I am adding this to my previous review for Cotton Patch Cafe** Well I did it. When I see a review that has more than enough one stars I stay away. Because I never had a problem with delivery and their fried green tomatoes that we had delivered were hot & crunchy. So unbelievably good. We couldn't figure out how they sent us greaseless, the best crunch & a perfect green tomato. That changed today. We were driving by cotton patch and I wanted their fried green tomatoes so we decided to go in for a treat.The manager was rude & unprofessional. He knew we were waiting to be sat but he was standing there talking to a customer. We stood there no lie for 5 minutes maybe more. We should have just left. I really don't know why we didn't. We finally ordered the tomatoes. 10 minutes, an apology & a soggy mess, sent back. 2nd try about 10 minutes, an apology & burned. Done. 5 minutes later the perfect tomatoes. Nope sorry. Bye Bye. We will stick with delivery. read more

Cold food, watery chicken Alfredo pasta that tasted like dirt. Apples and cinnamon with bell peppers inside wtf?! This was the worst meal we have had since moving to Texas and we will never be back! The service was really good. Our waitress was a kind soul! My salmon, salad, and veggies were tasty, but we came for my boyfriend to have chicken fried steak and it was not good. On May 25 , 2022, my husband and I went into the Cotton Patch at 5:00 pm for dinner. There were two tables with people seated and no one waiting to be seated. We waited more than 10 minutes to be seated while several men were talking in the kitchen. Once we were seated no one came to take our order. Finally after 15 minutes we got up and walked out. This was an excellent place to eat with good food. We were very surprised, since there were at least four young men in the kitchen area, we could see talking to each other. read more

The waitress we had really deserves 0 stars, but the other waitress and manager deserve some credit. We went on a sat 3:30 waited at least 30 mins just for our drinks, waitress was nowhere to be found. Had to get the other one to find her and send her to us. Never came to check on us, never came to get refills.. finally got our food after being there an hr. Oh how you disappointed me, let me count the ways. The McKinney location needs an up date. The ceiling at entry is stained and needs painting, the restaurant is very dark inside, floors are dirty, many of the tables were not cleared, the glass protective glass between tables that were installed during Covid were filthy and finger printed and smudged. The waitress was nice and took our order. She then came back 3 times to tell us our food will be right out. Then a manager came out and apologized for delay and offered free dessert. She said they got behind in the kitchen but there were only three tables in the restaurant that were occupied?? Our waitress was doing her best, not her fault but we do not plan to return. The food was mediocre at best and given the cleanliness of the restaurant I have serious concerns about the cleanliness of the kitchen/food preparation areas. read more

We used to really enjoy cotton patch but it just isn't the same as it was in the past. The food isn't as good. Our server was a hot mess. Stumbling over his words and scatter brained. Brought my tenders out in a to go box while we were eating in the restaurant. They ad a 5% surcharge as well now. It needs a good cleaning as well. read more

I had a lot of hope for this place. Everyone was very nice and welcoming and we were seated quickly. Our server was very good and tended to all of our needs quickly. I thought we had found a new spot... Then the food came out If you are going to eat here, I would suggest only getting something fried because that's the only decent thing here. I got some chicken Alfredo and my girlfriend got grilled flounder. Her flounder was soggy, salty, and really sour. There was also tons of bones in the fish. My entire entree had ZERO seasoning and the Alfredo sauce was like water. Definitely was not their speciality. Look. I love Cotton Patch but today I noticed two things: One, they changed the chicken spaghetti recipe for the worse. It's no longer cheesy and creamy. My bigger issue was the plastic pieces in it. I showed them to the server who immediately notified a manager, a British sounding gentleman who took the plate away. I was brought a bill for my drink and the appetizer that came out cold (My server never got the chance to take them back to be reheated as the food came out quick). As I was reluctantly paying for food and drink I didn't eat, I was told the plastic was tomato skin. Um....no, it wasn't. I ate a piece and it was straight up plastic. I was told there's a new chef in the kitchen so that was why it was messed up, but I won't be back, at least not for that dish. It used to be creamy and full of flavor and no plastic. A friend and I visited this location today after a play date with our kids. I just wanted to take a moment to comment on how amazing our server Misael A. was! He was super attentive to not only mine and my friends needs but to our babies also! Service like he provided is what makes people want to come back! It's worth mentioning my husband and I visited a week prior and the service was so bad my husband didn't want to go back. Luckily my friend and I came for kids eat free Wednesday and I'm so glad we did because Misael saved our perception of the entire restaurant! I'm a stay at home mom and we are a one income household but if I had it I would've tipped more than my lunch was worth! So instead I'm writing a review on how great he was in hopes you share with him and commend him for his excellent customer service skills! Thank you Misael! read more

I have enjoyed eating here in the past but have not been there in a while. I had the chicken and dumplings plate; and while i understand this is usually served with skimpily amounts of chicken, it was a little skimpier than normal and - surprisingly- a skimpy amount of dumplings. Really? Dumplings are so cheap there is no reason to be so stingy with them when you are already cutting costs on the chicken. It was the soupiest I have ever had. That and the 50 cent upcharge on the smidgen of okra put this place on my "poor value" list. The service, on the other hand, was friendly, efficient and accommodating. read more

I'm torn on this review. I tried going for a late breakfast/early lunch the first time. Our menus & table were dirty & sticky, as was the floor. When our server put dirty dishes from another table on our table (while talking to us) we decided to leave. Coincidently, my husband ordered the family meal for dinner that evening. You know how when it says "feeds 4-6" & it barely feeds 4? Not these! They easily feed 6 people. Plus you get a gallon of tea! Nobody in my family drinks tea, so I did wish there was a lemonade option. Whatever, that's just me. The Alfredo was delicious, green beans were tasty & I loved the mashed potatoes. I'm guessing the Mac & cheese was good, because my daughter & husband had multiple helpings before I got to try it. Ha! Oh, and the Dr.Pepper cake is so amazing. My family attended to go there and eat today after church. We sat down my dad and I were the only 2 black people in the entire restaurant. After sitting for over an hour and watching everyone around us who had come in after us be served and my dad even paying the bill of an elderly couple who were sitting next to us, we decided to leave. When speaking with the manager about what was taking so long he told me they were waiting on the grilled chicken to be done. What was funny is both of the tables next to us who sat down 30 minutes after us both ordered grilled chicken and both had already been served. Grilled chicken Alfredo with steamed broccoli and sweet potato fries, brisket quesadilla, and brisket tacos. These were the three dishes that were ordered and sent back. All of the food was cold, not to mention the guacamole for the brisket tacos was brown. When we got our food for the second time, the tacos were fresh and hot. The brisket quesadilla and grilled chicken Alfredo was just microwaved. This was easy to tell because Alfredo sauce completely separated and the quesadillas were only partially warm. The server was friendly but seemed frazzled. We noticed that there were approximately ten families in the establishment and only two servers, so most of the time they were running around with frantically to accommodate their tables, as well as seat people at the front (no dedicated host). The establishment itself was not the cleanest. The floors were incredibly sticky, drip trays under hand sanitizer dispensers were grotesque with old dried up sanitizer and hair. The menus were also sticky, so we had to wash our hands after we were done with the menus. We will not be returning to The Cotton Patch. This was just awful. I ordered grilled chicken and got fried chicken tenders. The waitress apologized and said she'd bring the correct order in "like 5 minutes." It took more than 20 minutes. The extra time was to really make sure the chicken was as over-cooked as possible. There's a reason this place was practically empty on a Saturday night. Was here two years ago, and had a very bad experience it took hour and a half to get the food and it took about a couple of months before the district manager got back to me and refunded. All my money went in two weeks ago, and it seems nothing has changed. The floors were sticky the waiters were ignoring us when we try to flag them down. My family and I have been going to this Resturant for at least ten years. This location has really gone down hill. My to go order was not only incorrect, parts of it were ice cold. Even the rolls were messed up and tiny. Obviously someone forgot to let them rise. My order was not the only one messed up. The people next me were missing an item and when they questioned the manager she said that they were out of that item and did not offer them a refund. She just shrugged. Saw a rat in the bathroom crawl under the black door while I was using the rest room, black mold on the ceiling, people smoking in the back very close to the food over all unsanitary and gross. She came out of the kitchen past me and seated the people behind me. Then she proceeded to clean the table, and then give me my food. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS RESTAURANT EVER AGAIN!! I would like to commend the workers today for an awesome job during this pandemic!!!!!!!! Today was $5 chicken fried steak and/or chicken day and orders are flying in like crazy!!!! The staff is working as fast as they can and are keeping such a pleasant attitude. Did I have to wait, sure I did but it was expected with such a great deal!!!! Ensure your table has a server. Was seated by the hostess and then nothing happened. Had to ask a manager to take our drink order. He made up for it with a free app. As for the food, it was pretty good. The wife had her Fish and Chips, and I went with the chicken fried chicken. Ordered a peach cobbler through the Uber Eats app. The idiot employees sent me a FROZEN cobbler...WTF. I shouldn't have to say this to a restaurant but I guess I do...COOK the f***ing cobbler before you send it out. If I wanted frozen cobbler I'd go to the store and get myself a Marie Callendar's...FYI I didn't want that but that's what I got. I called and asked to speak to a manager. He was just as daft as his employees. He told me to heat it up in the microwave because it had been cooked and then frozen...the cobbler did not look like it had been cooked before (it wasn't even slightly brown, looked like uncooked frozen pie crust). I didn't fall of the turnip truck...I'm from the south and know what a cobbler looks like when it had been cooked. Threw it out. Thanks CRAP PATCH CAFE for nothing. read more

My husband and I go here often. In fact tonight was the 3rd time in 3 nights. My husband ordered a sirloin steak which never came. My salad came and he told me to eat, while the poor man sat there and got angrier and angrier. The waiter explained they were preparing to go orders, instead of grilling his steak.
