This place deserves more love, it's a salad lovers dream!! When you walk in you're immediately greeted with the huge salad bar, which was very clean and all toppings were filled. My sissy-in-law and I got two regular salads to dine in and it was one of the most refreshing salads we've ever had. You choose your salad base (lettuce of choice) and then over 50 toppings I believe!! I got almost all of them, with the protein choice of spicy chicken and I still think about it today. It has unique dressings, I got the miso vinaigrette, but you can also get yummy classics like Cesar or oil and vinegar. You also get a choice of pita chips or a multigrain croissant to choose from. Some of our group had been before so it was nice they were able to tell us things. Order as a "to go" and then sit there and eat - then take the rest home. Pricing is either a large or a small. We went down the line selecting what we wanted. They didn't put much of anything in the bowl but there were so many choices the bowl was full by the end. If we asked for more of something they added it. I was able to sample a dressing. The meat is about $5, so a bit pricy. The roll is free. We like to sit and talk after eating and did not feel rushed. read more

First time to visit Salata at the encouragement of my grandkids. The salad was fresh, great selection, excellent service, and nice atmosphere. My only complaint - or should I say - my preference - is to have warm chicken on my salad instead of cold chicken or cold turkey. All in all, a great experience. I just wish they had warm meats for the salad. I would rate this place 4.5 stars if I could but I can't. This is my favorite salad spot in the McKinney area. Stopped by after doing some Costco shopping today and it's always the best service and the ingredients are super fresh. The spicy chipotle dressing is my go to with extra jalapeños on my salad. I always grab a bag of the baked pita chips, awesome. The ice tea bar has several flavors and you can mix it up. Today was the first time I have been to Salata, I was pleasantly surprised! I was out running errands and was really in the mood for a salad. Salata is located in a shopping center off 380 in McKinney. I got there right at opening at 11 and was helped right away. It is a large salad bar where they serve up exactly what you are wanting. I went with a regular size bowl, it was huge! I probably could have done with a smaller one. I opted to do a Cobb salad in the beginning but it ended up being something very different in the end. Lol the spicy dressing was really spicy which I enjoyed. I love all of the fresh options to add into the salad as well as the different variety of meats and seasonings. The restaurant was clean and uncluttered, booth and table seating throughout. The employees were friendly and efficient. I like the tea bar in the back, with a variety of flavored teas on tap. We decided to try Salata as something different for a weekend light lunch. The place itself looks nice inside with plenty of seating, at least for a Saturday lunch crowd. Like many casual restaurants today, you enter the restaurant into a serving line, and first select your greens, and what size serving you want (small, regular or wrap). As you proceed through the line, you are faced with a nice array of toppings, dressings, and proteins to add. I decided on a regular sized salad, with a bed of their Salata mix, various extra veggies, shrimp, and their chipotle ranch dressing. Everything was fresh and delicious. The sizing of the salads is a bit deceiving - my "regular" was most certainly the legendary "big salad" (of Seinfeld fame), but I managed to finish it all. My only two "downer" comments that keep this place from getting 5 stars would be: (1) they might want to cut some of their toppings a little smaller/finer. As another Yelper commented, the cucumber was in huge chunks, as well as the chicken and the croutons. (2) kinda pricey. It's a good salad, but cmon....it's just a salad. I would have to l give this place 5 stars due to the wonderful options they have. I love salads but even more so with all I can put in it. I love the jalapeño avocado dressing they have there along with with spicy chipotle dressing. You can also choose what kind of protein to add to your salad. Salmon, marinated crab meat and shrimp you can add! For additional price. Then you have the choice of croissant or pita chips to go along with your salad! They also have cups or bowls soups. Choices they had tomato bail and chipotle white bean. I have never tried the soup yet. But looks good. The staff is so friendly & helpful. Conner made me a awesome salad with a smile and positive attitude. All the staff seemed happy and friendly. This was a plus especially since it was almost closing time when I arrived to place my order to-go. I definitely recommend this place if your in the mood for a nice salad or wrap your way! Update: Apparently the Jalapeno Avocado has no Avocados actually in them, my bad. However, a mistake was still made. To make the situation worse, the "Owner" Eric blew up my phone and left a horrible voicemail. It was very unprofessional. I sent the same message to their corporate Customer Service as I did here. I don't think I was "disrespectful" but frustrated for sure. In no way, should anyone ever be spoken to like this man did. Ordered a Jalapeno Avocado Salad with Chicken and Pita Strips through the App, swung by and picked it up through the window.  I get home and this Salad seriously has ZERO Avocado (IT'S IN THE FREAKING NAME!!), has no Chicken or Pita Strips (which I paid an extra $3+ dollars for).  I called and told the person the issue, they put me on hold.  Another person got on and just started going on about what was in the salad like I was wrong on what to expect.  I told her, I knew what was supposed to be in the salad as it's the one I ALWAYS order, but I do assume that avocados are included (see above) and that I paid for the other.  She offered to let me come back and get a new one but felt like I was putting her out b/c I can't just stop working for the day to come fix THEIR mistake.  She said she'd have to get the owner to refund me, I'm not exactly hopeful it'll happen.  You can even see on the order slip that the chicken and pita were never crossed off. read more

In all honesty I have been a Salata fan for awhile. I eat at the one across from UNT all the time. I like that it's a set price, because if you did it by weight...holy hell. My salads would cost as much as a hooker right before prom. I also like that everything is super fresh. Plus....i can create a salad to fit my mood. Feeling thankful? Cranberries, pecans, walnuts and roasted turkey with raspberry vinaigrette. Feeling like not making out? Onions, garlic vinaigrette, extra blue cheese and Spanish olives. Feeling like I don't give a damn? Extra cheese of all kinds, bacon, extra bacon, some leftover queso in my car, steak and scrimps, crushed Doritos from my trunk for texture....you get it. While I typically eat healthy most of the time, salad is Tabula rasa - it's a blank slate and you are the painter of your vision. Plus...have you seen how much salad you get? JFC it's like I'm eating out of a trough when I get one. They offer soda by the bottle but have some tasty teas and lemonade on the fountain. It's also super clean here. Remembering how busy it use to be, getting here early was priority so we'd get a table and have a chance to chat. Ingredients were fresh, employees were engaging once they realized I was actually speaking to them and not just telling them what I'd like. I am sooo saddened to have to post this because I love Salata's. I eat it at least 2 to 3 times a week. However, today I visited the location on McKinney Rd in Dallas and when I walked up to the counter, one of the servers dropped a thong for the banana peppers and she just picked it up and took a towel and barely wiped the thong and put it back in the banana pepper container as if she had just taken the thong out of the kitchen sink. I almost puked. Does she understand how nasty and grotesque that is? I was so stunned that I was speechless and she appeared to think that that was ok. This is a restaurant and if I was a decoy from the food inspection administration, that location would have failed their inspection. I hate that because they are always so nice to me and I like going to that location. Now, I am going to have to find another Salata's. I am totally disappointed and sick to my stomach. read more

Their website messed up my group order and sent it to a store 45 minutes away, and the manager refused to contact the Addison store on my behalf to fix it, issue me a refund, and even kicked me out of his store under threat of calling the police. I insist that I was not rude, vulgar, or unprofessional. I mirrored the respect that was given to me throughout the situation, UNTIL, the employee began becoming unprofessional, at which point I simply left. I had to contact the Addison store, which had a much nicer manager, and after explaining the situation, received my full refund. I left the establishment hungry. I walked into the mostly vacant salad bar and ordered a Caesar Salad. The youth behind the bar started to make the salad with "spring mix" greens. So, I corrected him to use the romaine lettuce. Then, he asked what condiments I wanted to add to the salad. At that point I realized he had no idea how to prepare a Caesar Salad. I'm thinking, "He must be a new hire." I asked the manager if he could kindly help the youth prepare the Caesar Salad. This manager quickly said something to the youth and walked away. Next, the kid piled on the Parmesan cheese. Then, he ladled on a ton of Caesar dressing. So much, that the romaine lettuce was aimlessly swimming around and around in the salad's to go container. Note that I was never asked if I would like the Caesar dressing on the side. Would I like to add chicken?, "No thanks." Croutons?, "Yes, please." By the time I reached the cash register my senses were reeling and I was mildly disoriented. I swiped the plastic and walked out of the store feeling slightly confused, light headed and disappointed. Obviously, training and supervision are non existent at this store. However, I am left wondering, should I have given some direction to the clueless youth. This is my new 'monthly splurge spot'. Today was my first visit at the urging of a friend. She has been in my ear about 'this salad place' for weeks now. Upon entry, I was told the ropes. It's the Pie Five (pizza) and Chipotle (tex mex bowl) of salad. You pick your base, toppings, protein and dressings...I ordered the salata mix (a mixture of green salad) w/spinach, all of the fixings (carrots, tomatos, edamame, broccoli, bacon and the list goes on as their are many options to choose from) and Pesto Chicken and Herb Shrimp for protein with ranch and herb vinaigrette on the side...Boom, day made! 4 stars because it is pricey...$16 for the proteins, $8 salad and veggie toppings only. Usually pretty good but have had bad online ordering experiences lately. I usually order a southwest type salad and don't really have issues. Two days in a row though they've messed up the order. Some of the requested ingredients weren't in the salad and it was smaller than usual portions. The first time I thought oh well not a big deal. The second time more ingredients were missing and it was swimming in dressing. I took it back and the manager made a new one herself. I appreciate the quick customer service but I don't think I'll be coming back, too much of a hassle. read more
