I usually place a take-out/mobile order at ChopShop, so it's been months, maybe a year, since I've stepped inside to look around. The inside is still as clean and organized as it's always been. It's inviting to read, work, or meet a friend. The staff is always friendly and so patient as I usually second-guess what I want when I'm standing at the register - it all looks so good! I am elated Breakfast is now ALL DAY!! The Brekkie Wrap is my go-to, as is the Daily Detox juice. Usually I place a mobile order and they are always on it. The order has always been right and ready on-time too. The have parking available for pick-up so it's a quick in and out too. I really enjoy ChopShop. My wife and I were talking about eating healthier (we just got back from vacation) and while running errands we saw the Original ChopShop. My wife ordered the Raw Vegetable and I ordered the Scottsdale Cobb. It was lunchtime and the place was busy so our meals took awhile. One complaint was how noisy it was but as mentioned the place was busy. That blender making smoothies was quite loud. Our salads arrived and we dug in. Lots of healthy vegetation to consume. I wasn't a big fan of the cilantro ranch dressing but everything else was good. My wife enjoyed her salad and I felt good about myself for eating a salad. The concept of the Thai Coconut Chicken bowl is really good. I really like the sauce, it's vaguely coconut-y and sweet. I enjoyed it overall and thought the sauce carried, but literally everything else had that strange frozen vegetable flavor. I can't really describe it, but if you know you know. I've been a loyal ChopShop customer this year and have always appreciated their fresh, healthy options and variety. Sadly, I had a troubling experience that I feel others should be aware of. I ordered a Chicken Teriyaki Bowl and a Chocolate Chip Cookie through their app. While eating, I noticed the chicken tasted slightly off--not enough to stop, but enough to feel unsure. About 30 minutes later, I felt nauseous, broke into a light sweat, and eventually vomited the entire meal. It was the only substantial food I had that day aside from some Greek yogurt and granola, so I'm confident this was the cause. I did report the issue through their survey and received an apology and a $15 credit, which I appreciate. However, given the severity of the reaction, I would've preferred a full refund. This wasn't just a bad meal--it was a health concern. Two stars because most of my previous visits were great. But after this experience--and a similar strange taste from the same bowl on a prior visit--I won't be returning. Food safety and consistency matter. read more

I was so impressed by this place! We were visiting Dallas and my husband found The Original Chop Shop after seeing it recommended in a bunch of Reddit threads -- props to him, because it totally delivered. Especially while traveling, we were really craving something fresh, healthy, and nutrient-packed, and this place hit all the boxes. I ordered the Thai Coconut Chicken Bowl and it was excellent -- super satisfying, with great flavor. My 18-month-old daughter got the kid's Teriyaki Chicken Bowl and devoured it. The portion was huge, so she probably ate a third of it and we happily finished the rest. We My husband got the steak sandwich and was blown away -- the steak was grilled perfectly and full of flavor. He also grabbed one of their juices for an immune boost (because, travel), and it actually tasted good -- not always the case with those kinds of drinks! The staff greeted us with friendly faces and were so kind and welcoming. We decided to try a chocolate chip cookie, which was insanely good -- so much so that I went back for a toffee one and another chocolate chip. The toffee one was more like an oatmeal cookie with a hint of toffee -- not really my thing. If you're going for cookies, definitely go chocolate chip! The vibe of the place was great -- clean, cozy, and inviting. The only downside is that it's a cashless spot, but honestly, that seems to be the way the world's going. Other than that, I can't recommend this place enough. We'll probably go back again before our trip ends because it just hit the spot -- fresh, flavorful, and delicious. This visit was worth a review. As someone with a lot of food allergies, whenever I've previously visited this restaurant I'm usually disappointed and have to return due to an ingredient not clearly specified on the menu. The staff are always accommodating and understanding and that really makes up for the experience. Love the concept and the menu is well crafted. This Allen location use to be amazing. Recently since April last week and May first week how they prepare orders is quite shabby. The spicy shrimp quinoa bowl that i regularly order has become a soupy bowl, the quinoa is swimming in the sauce. The drink order is always a miss too and the team doesn't seem to be interested and motivated as they use to be. Overall this location has slipped in service. Drive to their McKinney location instead which is close-by and has amazing service and staff. My mom and I decided to swing by here on a whim and it did not disappoint! The restaurant was beautiful, clean, and filled with wonderful workers who want to help you have a great experience. After contemplating so many yummy choices, we decided to get the Thai Coconut Chicken protein bowl to share. (We just needed a snack to hold us over for a late lunch). It was filled with delicious veggies, fully cooked rice, and it came with an excellent peanut sauce. The price is a little high, but for the ingredients and the *cleaner* quality of food you get, it's worth it. I wish we had one nearer to us or we would be here more often! I was feeling something nice and healthy and found this place on Yelp. Literally everything on their menu is so healthy looking--you can't go wrong! I got the Kale + Quinoa Salad and it was delicious!! All the ingredients were really fresh and since I got it to-go, the packaging was also done well. I got three other dishes for my family (not pictured), and it seems they liked it too. I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken over sweet potato hash, the Spicy Korean Steak over rice, and the kids' cheese & chicken quesadillas. Note that the portions are not that big for the price, but I thought it was well worth it for the quality of food. My salad was $10 before tax, which I would say is very reasonably priced when compared to some other overpriced salad shops. The interior was also super cute and aesthetic--I will definitely be coming here to dine in when COVID is over! I want to start off by saying WOW! This place gets my vote not only because the food is great, but also because the service is nothing short of INCREDIBLE. My wife and I have come here on several occasions, including during the COVID shutdown. We've always been very impressed with the way they treat their customers. My wife is the person in lines that modifies every single item she orders, then nine times out of ten, the order ends up being wrong because it was so complex. Not only did this place get her order right, but the girl behind the counter was SUPER patient when taking my wife's order. Even my kids love this place, they say it feels like California inside because of the awesome food options they have here. Now on to the food. Obviously my wife loved her food, but I gotta say, my food was incredible. The club sandwich is a dream on bread, I mean this place can ruin other sandwich places for you. The sandwiches are nice sizes and you get a full meal when you eat here. The place is super clean, and by super clean, I mean super super clean. I'll be glad when the world goes back to normal so I can come here three or four times a week, this place is just what Allen needs and it's close enough to my house that I can get a sandwich on my lunch breaks. Too slow. Rather expensive. Fresh but not super tasty. Sent here for Lunch at 1 on a Thursday for two Danish salads to go. It took 15 minutes. Is that normal? Maybe it is. But when you're waiting for to go because you want to eat somewhere else it's so freaking annoying. I guess they want me to order one the app. That's just not me. I don't plan to eat here. I eat here because I didn't plan something better. Whatever not going back unless I go on some insane diet where I can't eat anything else. 2 stars One extra star because she gave me coupons and at least recognized my nonplussness. I call myself a Cookie Monster and the oatmeal toffee cookie was FLAMES! The chocolate cashew cookie wasn't sweet, it tasted like a healthy cookie lol. This is a go-to spot if you want to stay healthy & don't feel like cooking! I love the raw vegetable salad - also recently I tried the sweet soy sesame steak bowl and it was super flavorful, was highly impressed!! You can pick your base for the protein bowls, I did half brown rice + sweet potato and mixed greens. The breakfast wraps are filling, my husband and I split the 'brekkie' wrap and it's the perfect amount. Juices are delicious. I love the green glory but you do have to shake it up often as it separates, just natural with fruit/vegetable juices. Also very good flavored teas! I decided to get their club in a wheat wrap instead of on their 12 grain bread. Despite the thinner wrap the deliciousness inside spoke for itself--it really did not need any bread! The bacon had the right amount of salt and crispness and the avocado pesto was right on! The turkey with the lettuce and provolone cheese was super fresh and literally melted in my mouth--so yummy! Got their refreshing smoothie to drink, which came with watermelon, ginger and orange. Again not a disappointment and super delicious! After finishing the smoothie I loaded up on their hibiscus and peach teas which were not super sweet, but so refreshing and light. I ordered both breakfast and lunch for an early pickup. The food was ready on time, extremely healthy, AND delicious. I got a veggie and egg bowl and then a chicken bowl for lunch. Based on the name, we "assumed" they offered chopped salads but only the toppings are chopped. All is ok but they accidentally left off the parmesan. It's a $10-12 salad. Add $2-3 for protein. You get a ton of packed lettuce but not so many toppings. It's messy to eat from the tapered bowl (which is the awesomeness of a real chopped salad). They have great ideas - order here, try it, then make it yourself at home for 1/3rd of the price. We did Door Dash so I'm not sure if they absorb the 25% up charge or pass it to their customers. The only complaint besides the missing cheese is that the salad isn't chopped. It worked for a fast, healthy lunch for several people who have lived off coffee & Christmas cookies all week. Was not impressed. The shop looked really cute. Staff was nice, but the food was lacking. I ordered an Asian salad with dressing on the side and added tofu for protein. The dressing was beyond oily. I shook it a little before pouring some on my salad. I had to stop eating the salad because my mouth felt grossly oily. There was little flavor to the dressing, but I did notice a hint of spice which was good. Despite appreciating how fresh my salad looked, I can't say I liked it. Even the act of eating the salad was difficult because the bowl to salad ratio was off. I'm not a messy eater and tried to gently move lettuce to get to the other ingredients, but it always resulted in leaves jumping from the bowl. Gave up trying to enjoy it, ate the tofu, and will eat something better later. My mom loves their teas and enjoyed her protein smoothie though. Maybe safe to not order salads from there. read more
