These service was relatively fast, we got in and out within an hour. The server was very nice and helpful in guiding our choices in what we ate. I ate the Asian barbecue chicken sandwich and it was phenomenal. The breading was great, the sauce was delicious, and the contents complimented each other nicely. We decided to try Brass Tap again tonight for dinner. We have been here once before about 3 years ago and it was ok, nothing too memorable - nothing horrible. Food was ok. So, we thought - why not, it's close- let's go and see if we like it better this time. Let's start with the positives. We arrived shortly after 5pm and the place was pretty empty so we were seated right away. The server was friendly and immediately took our drink orders. She was attentive and service was fast. No complaints with her service at all. It seemed pretty chill and low key. A few people trickled in but nothing crazy for a Saturday night. We ordered the pretzel appetizer and I was pleasantly surprised. The color of the pretzel had me fooled. It was pretty dark in color which usually indicates overdone and hard so when it was amazingly soft inside - wow! So good! We loved the mustard and cheese sauce that came with it. My husband and son ordered a burger and said they were tasty, my other son ordered the chicken strips and said they were good. Negative for the meal, I ordered the blackened cod tacos and subbed the chips and salsa for the Gilroy Garlic Fries. I was very excited for the garlic fries since we are originally from that area and are very knowledgeable about the famous Gilroy Garlic Festival and all things Garlic. Here's where this dish wasn't exciting - the tacos were pretty bland. I took the coleslaw from my son's chicken tenders to try and add more flavor and make the taco more palatable. I only ate 1 of the 2 because there really was just zero flavor. The fries were probably an even greater disappointment. In the center, was a very small amount of cheese and maybe garlic? It had virtually zero garlic taste - I was searching for it. It was a sad version of garlic fries. I would not order that again unless they were improved upon. I went back and forth on 3 stars versus 4 stars because while service was great and fast, I can't confidently say I'd recommend it to someone. I may say it's a great place to chill for a beer and an appetizer but definitely NOT a meal. I think if your expectations are to stick with the appetizer list then you're probably going to like it. With a day long happy hour, decent bar food, and a large selection of beers on tap, this location of the Brass Tap in Allen, Texas is a good place for drinks with friends, or in our case, a celebratory 'turned 21' beer with my nephew. The Brass Tap was founded in Florida in 2008, with 50 locations across 12 states. This location in Allen opened in 2015. Our group of six arrived for lunch on a weekday, and it wasn't very crowded inside. The one bartender was doing all of the front of house chores. He was very good, doing the easy customer interaction that appears to be simple but actually isn't that common. Waters were gotten for the table, and he was receptive to our offer of help. We ordered a selection of most things on the shareable bar menu (many of them Happy Hour prices): including pepperoni pizza, boom boom shrimp, mac 'n cheese, onion rings, pretzel, plain cheese burger with fries, brisket taco platter, chicken quesadilla, and chicken wings. Everything was OK to good, with me really liking the crispiness of the well fried french fries and the well-filled quesadilla. I did get to share a couple of drinks with my nephew including a pint of Paulaner ($7.25) and HH drink of the week (a bourbon sour mix for $7). We are regulars here, my go to for a cold draft beer any time. Huge selection and often a $1 off some draft if you get here early enough on week days. This particular location has the best Impossible burger anywhere. Legit. Recently this location changed their fries. Their new freezer bag fries suck big time. They have good bar food other wise. My family love coming here, as do my friends and colleagues. Srsly we come here so often my credit card hurts. Service is not amazing but as long as you know what to expect it's fine. A new place with a friendly new staff, definitely worth a stop if you need a break from traffic or want to explore lunch options. I was pleasantly surprised by Brass Tap. Have never been and seen a bunch of locations around DWF so decided to stop in for a drink. And my oh my! A beer drinker would be in love. They have too many taps to even count of mostly craft beer and a nice range of local/Texas breweries. They are also a full service bar with your expected liquors and domestic beer. Bar area has lots of seating and so does the main dining with a server as well. I did not try any food and just had a liquid lunch but everyone who ordered at the bar (a pizza and a salad) cleared their plates. Music was a good level and bathrooms were clean. ONLY 2 complaints from my visit is the parking lot is a little small (but there are spot just further down the strip) and the windows are so tinted I couldn't tell if they were open becuase no sign was on. read more

Now this place is a ghost town. Staff can't make basic mimosas without 1 part champagne to 10 parts orange juice. The staff is rude and waits around. Shoutout to the chef because the food is always consistent. Owner should be ashamed they let so many people walk. After being faithful for over a year, I'm giving up on this place. I came to this place on a whim because I was looking for burgers and nachos that I haven't tried in the area before, and bam this promising place came right up! All the pictures and stuff looked nice and the size of the patty on the burger was exactly what I was looking for. So, I decided to give this place a try. The environment was lively, pretty much was I expect out of a cozy bar, and the servers were all very kind. Exceptional service. I ordered the Steak Nachos and the All-American Pub Burger with Tots on the side. The All-American Pub Burger was decent. The patty itself was a bit lacking in flavor, and I only got a small thing of ketchup to split between my tots and the burger, so the burger came largely sauceless and flavorless. The Tater tots were fried to perfection, which isn't saying too much, and the Nachos were easily the best part of the meal. The queso was melty and delicious, the steak was tender and sliced thinly, and the portion was very good as well. If the burger was a bit better I'd say this place would be a solid 5/5. read more

Call UBER/LYFT when ready to go home. Avoid that DUI/DWI. Full tummy and appreciating a good buzz. I'd like to suggest a sasion beer: DFH Unencumber Antelope 10. It's really good. A little overpriced for $10.50 a glass. I'd also like to suggest the Agave Americana 16 at $7. If either of these are on tap. I'd order them. The sasion may take a while to pour because of the head. Worth the wait. It's tasty! Saison is a pale ale that is highly carbonated, fruity, and spicy. Historically, it was brewed with low alcohol levels, but modern productions of the style have moderate levels of alcohol. This one had nice flavor. As always the service here is spot on. We Love this spot! Been to Allen Texas three years in a row for national wrestling tournament and it's about 2 miles from our hotel. I think we've been here 5-6 times. Great bartenders and beer selection. This time I got a Southwest chicken flatbread. It wasn't something that would blow you away by y the looks of it, but WOW! It was good. I want to bottle the poblano cream sauce and put it on all of my meals. Needless to say I will be ordering this again next time. My friend had the Mac and cheese and added buffalo chicken to it. I would like to convey my disappointment regarding my fourth visit to a different Brass Tap location, especially since I have frequented other locations numerous times. Unfortunately, I have encountered similar issues that have affected my experience.On Sunday, during the Cowboys' halftime, I sat at the bar and experienced a significant delay in receiving my drink, likely due to a shift change, as it took nearly 15 minutes for the bartender to acknowledge me. I overheard the bartender inform another that I had just arrived, yet my presence seemed to be disregarded, leaving me waiting without any communication. I had to say something to her. The second issue arose when I attempted to order a second drink; the bartender was preoccupied with a conversation about her customer service skills and aspirations to run her own restaurant with a so-called patron. It was frustrating to witness such a lack of focus on the bar's operations during a busy afternoon talking about how great you are. Consequently, I have decided not to return to this location and will instead frequent the Frisco Brass Tap location moving forward. The issue at many Brass Tap locations stems from the bartenders' customer service abilities. It appears that either the hiring process is too lenient, allowing unqualified individuals to be employed, or the training provided is inadequate. Please FIX this issue ASAP!!! read more

Love this place! The food is consistent and the service is always EXCELLENT! Every employee at the Allen location is really good and knows the menu and beer selections. Kelsey is the bartender who is on staff when I usually go and she is THE BEST!!!! She knows my beer preferences and immediately makes recommendations based on what is on tap at that time (the taps/kegs get changed out regularly). Top that off with her always smiling face and you have a great experience EVERY time I go. It has been a while since i have been back to this location due to the Corona Virus. I finally went back and the food is a good as i remember it and the beer is just as cold and refreshing, i did have a problem with one of the bartenders / servers named Hailie. I will warn you that if you go and get her she will spoil you when it comes to any other server / bartender. She is the nicest, most personable, funnest, and down to earth person you will meet. Within 5 minutes of walking in I felt that i had fun into an old friend (and i do not mean to imply that she is old, quite the opposite) Don't get me wrong, all the servers there are fantastic, but usually when you are new and don't know the regulars you take a while to warm up, she didn't.
