This place was kinda middle of the road for me. I would say the food was pretty good, but my wife was not as big a fan. My arepa was delicious, but pretty hard to eat. We also ordered the half chicken and the ravioli and both, I will admit, we're not very good. They both tasted like something you get from the frozen isle. Just not much flavor or depth. The service was honestly on the bad side. They hardly came to the table and we had to flag them down to get our check. Ambiance is farmhouse style, but very small and cramped. That caused it to feel stuffy and cluttered. The saving grace here was the food. I think it's a bit hit or miss, but overall I would say good. 5 stars! This place is great. I went in to place a pizza order to go and was promptly greeted by Kevin, the owner who was super friendly and great to talk to. He stated how Wednesdays are Whiskey Wednesday with live music and answered any questions about the menu. There is a very nice ambiance and decor to the restaurant and a neat bar with a great selection of drink choices. I ordered two pizzas to go and they did not disappoint. Had been to the restaurant in last few months, first three times great experience, food and value! Friday 10/24 hit rock bottom with us. Both waitresses barely understood English and got order wrong. The death nail for me was a tea drinker eating pasta I had 4 refills and they charged me $14, that was also new. They were always playing Spanish music in an Italian cuisine restaurant. All the pizzas were delicious - the table favorites were meat lovers and goat cheese. To finish off the meal, we had a tiramisu and limoncello cake. Again, the tiramisu tasted just like my Italian friend makes it. Perfect blend of lady fingers, mascarpone and espresso. Absolutely delicious, and the limoncello cake was perfection! This place is fabulous! We tried the fireballs (super spicy!) and so unique and then we split the 16" Caprese pizza. It was more than enough for two of us. I'm actually bummed we ordered what we did only because I wanted to try more! The pizza dough was so light and fresh it didn't leave you feeling sluggish which we love! The pizzas were so fresh, the tomato sauce was extremely flavorful and had a good amount of tangy-ness, the pesto was creamy and rich, and the crust was absolutely perfect We will definitely we back My partner loved the emphasis the owner has on Whiskeys and Bourbons, so many really good options for a drink. The owner was very very sweet, kind, and it was obvious that this restaurant is his passion and that he loves this place, which made it even better. Great and unique crust! Not sweet and spongy. Thin and crispy base crust. The Crust rim on the 10 inch individual is thicker than the full size. We got the Margherita with anchovies. Takes me back to Rome. I heard the chef, Fernando went to Italy to train and make the dough. Other menu items were good too. The Fireballs or spicy meatballs were tasty and only medium spicy. For some semblance of healthiness we ordered their Garden Salad which was fresh and full of toppings. Again the big win is the pizza dough. Snappy and not rubbery or sugary. Where has this been all my life! Popped in for date night and Whiskey Wednesday. They had live music too! Pizza was what we tried, and it was amazing! The crust is thin, crispy, and chewy at the same time. It was not your typical crust, and it wasn't heavy at all! The toppings were fresh, abundant, but not over the top, not super cheesy...it really was the perfect balance. We left with some pizza we didn't finish, but we also didn't feel super stuffed. So confused by these good reviews, this food in front of me is inedible. The ingredients taste canned. Spaghetti is overcooked, the meatballs are mush and falling apart, and for some reason there are whole green AND black olives in here? The Spicy Diavola pizza supposedly has hot capicola and spicy marinara, but I am 99% sure this is Canadian bacon with hot sauce splashed on top. The focaccia bread? Somehow hard as a rock AND raw at the same time, with absolutely no seasoning or flavoring whatsoever. It's not even focaccia. The worst offender here is the mozzarella cheese, if you can even call it that. The same cheese that's on the pizza is in the caprese salad, and I've never in my life had mozzarella of this texture or flavor. It legitimately seems like cotija or something, hard and crumbly, not melty or creamy. One positive is that the owner was understanding when we called and let him know we were disappointed. read more

It's not good. Focaccia is just crispy pizza crust. Not close to anything focaccia, just really crisp crust. Pizza itself is soggy. Even asking for it crisp it was sopping wet. The waitress dropped 1/2 hot pizza on my daughter's back and hair, and all that was said was" will get you more pizza. Then a picture frame fell on my other daughter and hit her. We were offered free desert for a heavy picture frame hitting my kid on the shoulder and hot pizza on the back and hair of my other child. Drove home and dug in. Crust was crispy, a bit chewy and light at the same time. Taste was fresh. We got pizza last week on Fathers Day, and we got it to go. You can tell it's not a chain, the dough is fresh and appears to be cooked in one of those brick ovens that get really hot. The pizza was delicious, and the only problem I had was it seemed like it needed to be cooked a bit longer. But there were some black areas on the pizzas, so maybe they needed to be rotated in the oven somehow? The dough was kind of tough, which was a real bummer because it tasted so very good. When I heated a piece up later in the air fryer, it actually tasted better and wasn't so tough, which is why I think they may have just needed another minute in the oven. All that said, we will be back to try again, because it did taste good, and I love good pizza places with thin crust! read more

We really do love the food here. The pizza is absolutely delicious. But it's way overpriced. We had gotten to the point where we were just ordering a cheese pizza and adding our own toppings but how ridiculous is that. Last time we ordered a large pizza with half just cheese (not extra) and the other half with also pepperoni and bacon. It cost - no joke - $39. When I asked about it the guy said he didn't have a button to only charge half the toppings. I said so instead of finding a way to fix it, you're just going to overcharge me and he legit said "yea". Really good pizza and so close to home! We got the pork and beef meatball appetizer with jalapeños and yummy bread. Fab! The pizza with prosciutto and arugula was delicious. The pesto pizza was delicious as well. Lots of basil, garlic and parmesan cheese. My favorite pizza was the Margarita, perfect in it's simplicity. Great crust, cheese, tomato sauce and basil. I really hate to write this review because I used to love this place, but I feel obligated to as more of a buyer beware. Wow this place has changed... first off they changed the name to Roma TX "Latin Italian" (not on yelp yet). What used to be a chill, quaint little pizza tavern that had (in my opinion) the best pizza in town is now a loud, over crowded South American joint with almost a night club vibe, that specializes in arepas, empanadas and tacos and just happens to serve below average Italian food. We got the meat lovers pizza, rigatoni vodka with sausage, and a Cesar salad for pick up. The pizza was just not very good at all, Cesar salad was a pre dressed mushy mess, and the rigatoni had shrimp instead of sausage; and although it was the best thing we got that's really not saying much. All in all it's just very different, and you can tell the pizza/ pasta is no longer the priority. The Latin food actually looked pretty decent, but the new management needs to do themselves a favor and drop the "Italian Margaritas", save the money on pizza dough, and just embrace the new Latin identity. Darn shame too, because there's not a lot of good pizza spots around here. This was one of the few but unfortunately, no longer. read more
