Eddy's Pizza Restaurant is a "go to" destination for my wife and me, when we want excellent Italian food! We both love their white pizza and order that frequently. My wife is of Italian extraction and is very picky about the preparation of her pasta. She loves their meat sauce! This week, my wife ordered the chicken carciofi (artichoke) which she loved, and I had the baked cheese ravioli... which is one of my favorites! We've passed this spot many times and finally decided to give it a go! No regrets here. They have take out counter and dine in options. I'm a pizza fanatic and wanted to try the pizza just as it comes out of the oven. We ordered a large with olives, mushroom, and spinach. But that wasn't the star of the show... To start we ordered fried mushrooms. They come out piping hot with a nice marinara dipping sauce! I wanted to try the pasta and got the linguine with white clam sauce. Full of clams and great taste, the noodles had a bite to them and that made my mouth happy! What I loved the most, was that we received a basket of warm garlic knots when we first sat down. I have been there several times and ordered different things. They were all delicious! Especially love the "big as a football" Stromboli! I invited 7 friends for the first time there, most got pizza of different varieties and loved it! They are generous with their fresh, made to order entrees too! I got the shrimp fettuccine pasta and a cheese slice with spinach addition. Not only was the staff super kind, but the food came out super fast. The ambience was so nice, the layout made it to where you could choose more excluded or social depending on who you're coming with. The lighting and brick walls made the setting super cozy. The pasta was creamy with perfectly cooked shrimp, not too chewy. The garlic rolls were complimentary and when I say soft, I'm talking tuft of cloud along with garlic buttery goodness. So this is a tough one. I think my choice of toppings just didn't jive. Pepperoni, sausage, pineapple and jalapeño. They used picked Jalapeño vs fresh and it seemed to impact the overall flavor. If you like frozen/baked chicken and small bland portions, you've found the right Italian restaurant. You can throw a rock in any direction in Dallas/Ft. Worth and hit a small, independently owned Italian style restaurant. You can practically start one of these yourself with a Sysco catalog and a Sam's Club card. So, it's OK to be overly critical. And that's what I am of Eddy's Pizza. And I only support local business! (Unless I feel ripped off) One thing you can always guarantee by going to a mom-and-pop Italian joint is big servings that you can't finish. You won't even get THAT at Eddy's. If you want a small pizza that's hand-made, is under cooked and has canned toppings for $15.50, go to Eddys. This is their best item, and it's not half bad for what you would expect. But if you want a large with better toppings for the same price, keep searching. I've attached a picture of the chicken fettuccini alfredo I got. You might not really be able to gauge the depth but look at the walls on the inside of the container to get an idea. This would be a great portion of pasta if it was the to-go container full of what I couldn't finish. But this is a full portion inside your average to-go pan, with a sea of sauce, 6-7 chunks of chicken (Yes, I counted!) and hardly any pasta. I had a sneaking suspicion the pasta was egg-noodle, but I can't verify that. To add insult to injury, the sauce was incredibly bland. At least put some garlic in their guys! And the chicken had the same texture and flavor of boiled or frozen chicken breast chunks you might find in a can of soup or a frozen precooked bag from Walmart. Speaking of Walmart, I have made better chicken alfredo there. Have you ever had Lean Cuisine's version? I am not exaggerating when I say it's a little better. Avoid. For no frills, cheap, small, local Italian, go elsewhere. My recommendations: For pizza in the same area, get Mama's Pizza in Plano. For Italian entrees, hit up Joe's at Custer and Spring Creek. read more

The staff is amazing, the place is clean and cozy, the food is delicious and affordable- easily the best pizza in Plano, in my family's opinion. I've been to this restaurant a few times and each time I'm convinced that the food is just mediocre. Actually the pizza has no taste. I believe they are not using the Freshes and best cheeses for the pizza. The restaurant is a nice quaint place and I would really like to see them up their game on the flavor of the food. I ordered chicken carchofi and was given chicken and mushrooms in a watery red, unflavored sauce,if you can call it that. They broke the spaghetti in half!
