Eggplant Parmigiana, creamy lemon shrimp pasta
    Lucy M.

Stopped by for Mom's birthday dinner with my parents and in-laws! It wasn't super busy yet on a Tuesday night when we arrived around 6 but progressively got more packed as the evening went on. We didn't realize until we were ordering that they do a BOGO half off deal on entrees every Tuesday, as long as everyone orders an entree. As a result we definitely had too much food on the table but it was nice for our party of 7 to try a bunch of different things! I didn't have time to take pictures of it all, but we started with the bruschetta and the sautéed mushrooms. Bruschetta came out hot and great as usual, but the mushrooms were a bit salty. The complementary salads were nice and light and our servers were great at refilling waters and bringing out more free bread throughout the night. For our entrees, we ordered the creamy lemon shrimp pasta with spaghetti, the eggplant parm with fettuccine, the lasagna bolognese, the shrimp spezia, the tortellini bolognese (one of the specials that day), and the dolce e salato & cesarini pizzas. My favorite items of the night were the dolce e salato pizza (the sweet and savory combo was excellent and the crust was light and fluffy) and the shrimp dishes - the shrimp was cooked very well. I'm not a big red sauce person but the bologneses were also pretty good. The long noodles were a little mushy in all the sauce but the tortellini was not bad. Portion sizes were huge so we took three boxes of leftovers home! And one of the ladies at the host stand helped us take some nice group pictures outside the restaurant after our meal. For a solid local red sauce joint that will fill you up and then some, look no further!

Ina Garten's fennel and sausage rigatoni is my go to pre marathon dinner- if it's a marathon I'm not traveling for. This isn't exactly a home town marathon because I am not from Dallas but I am currently residing here so I suppose in that aspect, it was a home town marathon since my kitchen is in close proximity. Bestie flew into town to support me along the course but we decided to not make my go to dinner and go out to grab dinner to save time. I selected Roman Cucina. We drove over and had about a 30min wait on a Saturday evening. This provided time for me to quickly study the course and elevation chart before being shown to our table. The dining room was really cute! We had a table for two near the bar and I like that they have several TVs in the restaurant. I ordered the shrimp scampi and bff ordered a sausage lasagna (which he later said mine is better than, I do make a really exceptional meat lasagna with beef + sausage). My shrimp scampi was very yummy! I was eyeing the pesto pasta and I'm glad the server mentioned it was a bit heavier. I could only finish half of my shrimp scampi following the yummy dinner salads that accompanied both of our entrees. I decided to forego alcohol with dinner since we'd had a boozy brunch and I had a glass of prosecco while out holiday shopping so it was time to play the hydration game if I wanted to execute a marathon in the morning. The cannoli I ordered to go, was also quite tasty - I devoured about half of it before bed for a little sweet treat. We had our leftovers days later and they were still yummy. I'd definitely return here in the future. I later texted my brother to let him know this is spot is practically around the corner from him and my sister in law, in case they feel inclined to grab Italian for dinner. Service was great!

I've always passed by this restaurant on my way home, as I live in the area, and I finally had the opportunity to dine here and it was great! Our server was kind, friendly, and very patient with us. When our food came out, everything we ordered passed my expectations and was delicious! The environment felt very homey and cozy and the chandeliers illuminated the place. Will definitely be coming back!

We actually were going to a different place to eat but they were closed. So we stopped at Roman Cucina with no idea what it was like. We were pleasantly surprised. It looked expensive from the outside but it wasn't. We were seated right away. They brought us some good bread to nibble on while we ordered. The tea was a little weak but I'm very picky on my tea. We ordered parmesan and garlic bread for an appetizer. It was huge and super tasty. The dipping sauce was very good. We also ordered a spaghetti bolanase. There was so much that I ate 3 meals out of it. We'll be back.

Great spot. Usually a short wait since it's popular, but the bar is a good place to hang out. Awesome vibe, seriously a great ambiance. Everything on the menu is tasty. Service is solid. Definitely worth a visit.

The best Italian restaurant in town. Their food is amazing, the service is awesome and the restaurant decor is excellent. They have the best cannolis & their pasta taste fresh & authentic. Don't forget to try the Wedding soup!

Solid spot for Italian food in Allen! There may be a long wait on weekend nights (we previously tried to go on a Friday evening and it was a crazy long line), but weekdays are a good bet for no crowds (we went on a Monday this time). The ambiance inside is nice, making this a good place for date night or a meal with family / friends. We started out with the calamari fritti for our appetizer, and it was super tasty paired with the calamari sauce. For the main entree, I got their pasta special at the time which was cavatelli with shrimp, mushrooms, and sun-dried tomatoes in a cream sauce. Everything about this pasta was absolutely delightful -- the pasta itself was cooked perfectly and the sauce + everything else worked well together. My fiance got the sausage lasagna and this turned out to be the big miss of the night... It was way too salty and we found it difficult to finish all of it. To close out our meal, we shared the cannoli for dessert which was just fantastic. The shell was crisp, and the inside filling along with all of the chocolate chips was delicious!

We enjoyed both specials this evening, Salmon w artichoke and sun dried tomatoes in Lemon Sauce and the Mushroom stuffed ravioli with peas and ground meat. Both were delicious, the dinner salads were very tasty and the service was on spot. Very attentive and great team work.

A short wait on a Friday night but well worth it. It feels authentically Italian and the food is delicious. Everything on the menu looks great so lots to try on return visits!

Yes we have GF pizza and pasta. Ask your server for a gluten free menu.

The house Manhatten was delicious with subtle adjustments to the traditional recipe. The Arancina Tradizionale is a fried ball of tasty saffron rice, stuffed with Bolognese and peas. Its a great appetizer with lots of subtle flavors. As an entree I had the Cacio E Pepe, the famous pasta prepared in a wheel of pecorino cheese and covered in fresh ground black pepper. The pasta was perfectly al dente, the cheese was creamy and mild, and the pepper nicely balanced the richness with a mild spice. I ordered shrimp on the side and it was well seasoned and nicely charred. My wife had the geilled salmon and loved it. We didn't really have room for dessert, but since everything else was so good, we couldn't resist trying the Tiramisu and Strawberry panna cotta. We couldn't have been happier with our choice. Be prepared for European style service and you will leave satisfied.

My only complaint was that seating is a little cramped, and everyone including the restaurant staff had to maneuver around chairs, etc. but other than that we really enjoyed our visit.

I feel like service could've been a little better. My refill was quite slow but overall service was decent-good. Food... was great but missing a little element here and there (personal opinion). Man, I love the calamari here but it just needs a little seasoning. For the Wagyu, the steak wasn't rest long enough before it was cut (not a big deal) and I personal find potatoes to not complement the steaks well due to both item was quite greasy and oily. I think we may have had an off-night on how they handled our reservation. If it weren't for that, I'd give them a 5! Food: I got the Pappardelle, my wife got the fettucine. Both were among the best we've tasted in Dallas, even compared to our current favorite Roman Cucina. We've been told to also order the brick oven half chicken and the duck, which we'll come back for. Drinks: well presented. The old fashioned had the spherical big cube, and was on the sweet side. My wife had the passion fruit juice, which had very strong flavor (preferred...you can always water it down if you need to). Ambience: beautiful & posh inside. Elegant casual outside. Once you're in, it's hard to remember that you're in a shopping center - everything from the entrance to the restrooms have a beautiful aesthetic. Service: We had a reservation indoors, but when we got there (on-time), we were told there was a 15-20 min wait unless we were willing to sit outside. It was a little bit before prime time, so we were a little surprised. We ended up taking the outdoor seating, and the weather got a little too chilly after sundown. On another day, this would have been perfectly fine (or maybe preferred)...but we figured the point of a reservation was to have the seat we wanted if we showed up on time. That said, Tania (our waitress) was great - humorous, attentive, open with her feedback on the dishes (it was our first time). All in all, a solid recommend for Italian food in N Dallas!
