Went for a late dinner at Joe's Pasta & Pizza and had the most wonderful time. Everyone is seriously so kind, gracious, and helpful here. The restaurant is clean and spacious with cute flowers on each table. Our server was Garrison, and he was so lovely - one of the best servers I've ever had! We ordered their hot honey ricotta pizza and the joe's tortellini with linguine. They were both excellent, but the star of the show was the pasta with the most delicious sauce. We popped into Joe's on 4/11 (Saturday), with a large party, for dinner. They told us it would be a 15-20 min wait due to party size. Ten-ish minutes later the manager (?) told us it would be closer to 30 and that we may need to split between booths at that. The manager, our server, another employee all came by while we ate to apologize and thank us for waiting. Everyone in the establishment has top notch customer service! We found Joes through a school fundraiser and their pizza is SO MUCH better than Angelo & Vito's (which we used to be loyal to). My granddaughter had Spaghetti & Meatballs, my daughter had Eggplant Parmigiana and I had the Veal Parmigiana w/pasta and salad. They were all good-sized portions but, unfortunately, they looked better than they tasted. The veal was tasteless and not very hot; the salad was fresh. The best part were the freshly-baked rolls. On the corner of Spring Creek and Custer, you might pass by and not even notice it. But you should.. Joe's has the best pizza and pasta in the area! You can place your order online and put your car make and model, and they will bring it out to your car! We ordered Medium mushroom pizza (it's plenty for a fam of 4), baked ziti, and eggplant parm (comes with spaghetti). It came with two salads, which you should definitely pick the house dressing to go with. The dressing itself was worth the trip alone, it's SO good. The pizza had a crunchy bottom, thin sauce, and just the right amount of cheese. We were so happy to find some garlic knots with our order! I'm originally from NY and we live for garlic knots. They were beautifully baked but they needed MORE garlic and salt.. I ended up dipping them in the tomato sauce of my eggplant parm. Overall good place . Prices, service above average, and the bread was good. My better half enjoyed her meal. The reason for the 3 star for me was the way the lasagna is served . I am sure there is a reason for the way 9 out of 10 independent restaurants serve the lasagna in what I call a boat like in the picture I included , but that kills it for me . I crave lasagna on a plate that can stand up on its own with multiple layers that I can see all the way around and I seek out restaurants that serve their lasagna that way. My husband's favorite is their pizza with pineapple and jalapeños, my son loves their tortellini soup, and my favorite is the eggplant Parmesan with angel hair pasta instead of spaghetti. The garlic rolls are light and fluffy so we always ask for more (it's complimentary)! The servers are always kind and attentive. The space is a little run down and couple use an update/refresh, but the food and service are reliable, so I don't hold it against them. A friend of mine ordered lasagna, snd it looked like a pancake, no way it was 2 or 3 layers , and very very small portion. Not my idea of Italian food. A true neighborhood gem! Tucked away in a nondescript strip mall at Custer/Spring Creek is probably one of the better Italian restaurants in Plano. My personal favorite here is their pizzas....the closest I have seen to NY style pizza in the metroplex. The crust is the perfect thickness and crunch. Overall it's really flavorful without being greasy. The garlic bread with cheese tasted like it had real garlic instead of some fake flavoring. The service is exceptional too!!! I've only picked up food from Joe's but the manager/owner is always very friendly and appreciative of your business. A few nights ago my wife and I moved into the area and looking a good dinner spot. We found Joe's on Yelp and happy we did. This is a perfect little neighborhood Italian restaurant. Way better than any chain in the area. My wife ordered the pizza and I ordered the Tour of Italy. We also had the fried calamari as an appetizer. Most restaurants have their calamari with so much breading that you never actually taste the calamari. Joe's version was lightly breaded and was very tasty. Have come here several times throughout the years but only during lunch. Yesterday I came with a group of co-workers for a shower (group of 8) and we were immediately seated. The place was pretty busy so we were grateful that they could accommodate us. After we were seated here came these big baskets of steamy yeasty knotty garlic rolls that tasted as yummy as they looked. They only offered butter with it but I think the next time I will ask for olive oil for dipping. I apologize that I can not review any other food than the spaghetti but that's all I ever order. It's the spaghetti with their thick chunky meat sauce that I can't get away from. I go into my own little world when I eat this stuff. It's almost embarrassing. Most of the other co-workers tried the Fettuccine Alfredo and whereas I had leftovers their plates were dry as a bone so I'm thinking it must have been ok. The service was perfect and perfectly timed with the servings of salad and then the entrees. I wish I had gotten the server's name so that I could send kudos but if you are reading this you know who you are! Next order of business is to bring my husband so that he can experience this wonderful laid back little gem. Mind you, this place is nothing fancy but more so comfortable and down home. And besides tables they have lots of big puffy booths for a more private dining experience like I need when I eat my spaghetti. read more

Unfortunately, this "Joe's" location missed the mark for me. I had been craving both, NY style pizza and baked, cheese-covered lasagna in a "boat" for some time now and after weighing options and perusing yelp* reviews, decided on Joe's. We visited the restaurant on Sunday afternoon around 2:30. We seemed to have either missed or beat the rush, so we found the restaurant pretty much all to ourselves. Despite rips in the seats of a few of the booth benches, the restaurant appeared clean and presentable. Our Server was Layla. She was very pleasant, friendly and attentive throughout the entire dining experience. To eat, I ordered the lasagna and my wife ordered the Gnocci Piemontese. We both ordered a slice of cheese pizza. In true Joe's fashion, the lasagna was more savory than sweet, which is the way I prefer it! It tasted good but not great. Though I thought it was a bit lacking in tomato sauce, it was juicy and cheesy enough. It just wasn't "tomato-ee" enough. So I don't receive pale melted cheese atop my lasagna, I usually order my lasagna with the cheese "burned." Annnd, I usually receive it with the cheese barely browned. Which is kinda what I wanted to begin with. This dish of lasagna was no exception! My wife's Gnocci was very good. She liked it AND I liked it, and I'm not really a Gnocci fan. I ate her leftovers yesterday and it was still yummy! I would order it!! I think I liked it because it was not bland at all; the chicken was actually "grilled" and the kick of garlic was prefect! As for the pizza... whommp, whommp, whommm... NOT in true Joe's fashion, the pizza slices were smaller than expected and the "added" cheese was barely melted and pale. It was mediocre at best and left me still wanting a slice of NY style pizza. This REALLY bummed me out. The salads that came with our entrees consisted of Romaine lettuce and a small slice of tomato. In defense of the chef, however, we ordered the salads without croutons. We did not order dessert and we did not visit the restrooms. So, I cannot speak to either. Take a look at my posted pics to see the current menu! And, if you decide to eat at this Joe's, just make sure you specify what you expect with regard to your meal preparation. Came here for a surprise birthday dinner with my boyfriend and his family last night. Seeing as this place has zero curb appeal, my expectations were very low. However, I am SO glad to say I was pleasantly surprised. It was absolutely phenomenal! Although I didn't get photos of the entire meal, I had the fried cheese sticks, side salad with the house dressing, and the beef lasagna. The cheese sticks were pretty standard, super cheesy, and super good. The house dressing was FANTASTIC! It had the perfect amount of sweetness and tang without being too vinegar-y. It was perfectly balanced. The lettuce was super fresh and crunchy and the tomato was fresh as well. The lasagna was delicious! Hands down some of the best i've ever had! The cheese, meat sauce and noodle ratio were on POINT. It was piping hot, super creamy, and very savory! Don't let the unassuming looks of the place fool you, it's amazing! read more
