Restaurant was full but we decided the sit at the bar. Today was just the two of us for dinner. Service was great, many of the employees at the bar will approach you and make sure you are ok, nothing is missing on Customer Service. I usually feel guilty eating shrimp and grits but this was so good and filling and not at all greasy! Friend ordered a basket of waffles to share. OMG GET THEM! They have a fantastic texture with a little bit of sugar crusted on them. Very surprising and now a necessity when we visit.

The tequila sunrise was musky and the flavor of the tequila overwhelmed the rest of the drink. I really wanted to like this place! However, I spent $35 on a pretty pitiful brunch meal. The restaurant seating area and decor were all nice. The bathroom had no music and is small and cramped (you can't get paper towels without either blocking the door or a stall). The people were kind and attentive enough that I probably would try it again? Maybe Sunday brunch or a different meal entirely.

At this time Sylvia asked if I would like to take my meal home and I informed her "NO! it's cold and I came to eat with my family not alone at the dinner table at home" Sylvia finally stepped up as a MOD should and said she would take mines and my daughter's meal off the bill. (This was the very least she could have done). At this time we were done, my wife had picked through her meal as much as she was going to do, my daughter had lost her appetite and she even commented on how rude the MOD's attitude had been in addressing the table I had given my untouched meal back to Sylvia and my grandson ..well he a 4 year old he was just picking at his mac and cheese and we waited for the bill .. and waited and waited. At this point I was fed up and got out of my chair and walked over to the kitchen/terminal and very loudly said " MY WIFE FOUND A BUG IN HER SALAD, MY DAUGHTERS MEAL CAME OUT 20 MINUTES AFTER THE REST OF THE TABLES MEAL DID WE'VE BEEN HE WAITING FOR OVER AN HOUR AND NOR I HAVE TO WAIT ON MY BILL .. CAN I PLEASE GET MY BILL!!!" At this time Justin heard and noticed me and informed me that he is trying to get the bill fixed (Sylvia sill had not adjusted the bill.) I returned to my seat and waited (again!) for my bill so I could pay for a horrible experience and finally leave to get me some food. When Justin arrived with the bill IT WAS STILL INCORRECT!! so he had to go back and correct it again. I've spent 20+ years in the hospitality business as a restaurant manager front and back of the house before become a business owner. The way your MOD managed her shift was by far the most unprofessional I've seen in a while. When Sylvia MOD came out to the table, I said to her "I was curious to who the manager was being I had not seen on the floor anyone who resembled one since we've been here and I just want to verify this" her replied was "yea i was in the back". As her restaurant was struggling she was "in the back?" very poor management and as the MOD it's her job to make sure things run smoothly and to correctly handle situation like my families neither of those happened under her watch .. Took my son and mother in law here for lunch. Only two servers working. There was only 5 tables in use, so not very busy. A server came and sat the single lady ahead of us in line and came back to the host stand. I told her there was just the three of us and she ignored me. Not one word about a wait time or anything. She left to go and didn't come back to the host stand until a couple of guys showed up and she spoke to them and quoted them a wait time, they corrected her and said that we were actually before them. She got huffy and rudely asked again about how many were in my group. Then she finished getting everyones information before leaving again. Then a male server went and cleaned up a table and spoke to us from across the restaurant that we could sit there. We sat down and then he left and sitted a table behind us and got their drink orders before getting ours. I wasn't ready to order my meal but I did want to order an appetizer and my son's lunch, since he takes longer to eat, but the guy wouldn't listen to me and walked away before I could finish my sentence. When he finally did decide to come back I was able to order and he had the nerve to blame me for it taking so long to get the order in. My mother in law tried to ask for a refill but was ignored until the check was brought and he asked if she wanted to get a tea to go. She said yes an unsweetened tea, she has diabetes and can't have a lot of sweets, and he brings her a sweet tea instead. Granted he might have misheard but he hardly gave us the time of day so I doubt he really cared. He spent more time talking to other tables and making jokes with them to care about our table at all. We felt like we must have been the garbage table and we weren't being rude or demanding. We couldn't and still can't figure out what we did wrong to receive such bad service. Another thing worth noting is that our server never once gave us his name. No " Welcome to Cotton Patch Cafe, my name is .... I'll be your server ". We were an inconvenience to all of them. Not one person that we interacted with during our time there was really pleasant. And that is really a shame because the food is really good but I don't think I'll be coming back anytime soon. read more

Cotton Patch Café in Georgetown, Texas handled Thanksgiving with a level of professionalism normally reserved for my father's cronies in FBI evidence rooms and IRS auditors. Insiders report: * Not a single laptop went missing. Staff maintained chain-of-custody over the mashed potatoes like they were classified documents. * Nobody asked me to identify anything in an evidence lineup, including the rolls (though one did look suspiciously like it had been in a photo somewhere). * All transactions were legit--no "mystery charges," no congressional committees subpoenaing the receipt. * No Ukrainian or Chinese businessmen accidentally appeared at the table, which I allegedly described as "a refreshing change of pace." * "Lindsey" politely asked if I wanted "anything else," then immediately said, "Actually, never mind," with the sort of gentle intuition only found in Texas hospitality. The turkey was so good that I have to report it has "street value." The dressing had "the kind of consistency prosecutors wish my personal life had." The pecan pie was described as "criminally good, but in a way that won't require legal representation." Cotton Patch Café staffed the situation like veterans of congressional hearings--calm, polite, and unfazed by anything. At one point a manager walked by, looked at me and said, "We've seen worse," which made everyone else picking up orders nod knowingly. 5 stars. If Cotton Patch Café handled Washington the way they handled Thanksgiving, the entire country would be bored and scandal-free. read more

My husband and I hosted a rehersal dinner for our son's wedding. The wedding was in Liberty Hill and we didn't want to have to drive all the way down to Austin after the rehersal. They say they don't have a private room but what they have on the side works very well for a private room and we had over 45 guests. Dana, the event planner, does an incredible job. All courses were served buffet style and we had 2 waiters to serve drinks and manage tables and they were fantastic. The food was awesome and I'm picky and originally from New Orleans. What stood out for me was the queso and shrimp ravioli appetisers. For dinner we offered a fish, chicken and rib-eye. I was impressed by all but was most impressed with the rib-eye that they cooked medium rare and served buffet style, kept warm and in spite of being over a heat source didn't cook any further. All of our guests had a great time and loved the food, drinks and service. When we visit our son and daughter in law we will definitely take a ride up to Georgetown and come back to this restaurant. read more

I would like to start off by saying I'm very picky with servers at restaurants. Tuesday morning I came in with my sister and received the best service from Trevor! A curly haired boy. He was quick with our drinks. Recommend a chicken ranch casserole of the day and it was such a delight! Not often you actually get a recommendation that isn't just a $20 entree for a bigger tip. He genuinely offered a great meal at a great price and I thank you! I love being able to go out and laugh. Such a great way to brighten our days and our moods. We were told by the manager on duty that we would be contacted by the General Manager and our information was written down. We were told it "would be made right" and offered another chance to try them out and would be provided gift certificates to pay for the future meal. Never happened. No call. Nothing. I even left the same comments on the corporate website with customer service and never heard a peep from them either. Truth be told we wouldn't have gone back. Just read the reviews. Oh, they were also shut down by the Williamson County Health Department for rat infestation in December 2018. read more

The potato salad and coleslaw were my favorite. We've ordered the smoked turkey and brisket before from here and our family is always pleased with it. They have great proportions of egg, cheese, bacon, chorizo, potatoes, and all that jazz. I think they have some of the best breakfast tacos I have had in town. I have had them a few times now. Yesterday, I went to Smokey Mo's for dinner because I wanted a baked potato desperately. I walked inside with only a few other people eating and no line. I ordered a chopped brisket baked potato with all the fixings, with an individual sized side of their pinto beans and a regular drink. They have plenty of drink options from bottled beverages, alcoholic beverages, and their Pepsi fountain drinks. They also have a section to serve yourself with pickles, onions, lemons, and peppers. It was only a few minutes before I got my meal, and the baked potato was excellent. I ate it as quickly as I could for recently having my wisdom teeth removed. It is a pretty large potato, and it was able to fill a hungry guy like myself up pretty well. The chopped brisket was plentiful and was quite savory. I missed brisket. As I finished my meal, I went to get a refill of my tea, and they had already removed the teas from their fountain drink area. There were still other customers inside besides me, and they were still open for another 40 minutes, so that was a little disappointing, but it did not really make or break the visit.
