Came to eat lunch here on a whim. Not impressed, service was horrible. We had to ask for rolls after watching other tables receive them and we did let the waitress know it was our first time. Came here for early dinner with wife and daughter so it wasn't too busy. I had blackened tilapia with side of mashed potatoes and steamed veggies. Tilapia was dry and over seasoned even for blackened. Veggies were meh. Wife had grilled pork chops and they were decent. Daughter had fish and chips. Fish was not too bad but she said the fries tasted "freezer burnt." Service started our well and slowly went downhill to non-existent. Had to flag down other waitresses for drink refills and waited 15 minutes before flagging another waitress down for our check. Possible 3stars for food and one for service. The other wait staff seemed attentive so it might be better with a different server. Probably skip this location next time - cotton patch in Lufkin much better all the way around. read more

Last night, we went to Cotton Patch for the first time. There was nobody waiting for tables, and several open tables. The lady behind the hostess station was on the phone and finished her conversation, hung up, and asked me "can I help you?" (um yes, hello, we would like to eat here?) I said, "we'd like a table please, there are 5 of us." She said, hmmmmm.... And proceeded to write my name on the list. I asked, "Is there a wait?" She said, "well, no, there isn't, I have to go and get this order in and then I will be back." She asked my name and wrote it down, then proceeded to chit chat with the customer at the single seat bar. (a male, her age) Seven minutes passed and not a sign of acknowledgement. The manager or what looked to be a manager, or staff lead, came out of the back and began chit chatting as well. We ended up walking out. You lost a table of 5 to Five Guys! Rude of them! read more

Today was a huge disappointment for us. When we arrived there wasn't a host/hostess and it took a while to be seated. It then took 15 minutes before anyone took our drink order. We had no idea who our waitstaff was even though she had passed by our table several times. Worst experience ever! Not one of the employees looked like they were happy to be there. Guests would come in and stand at the hostess stand quite awhile before being acknowledged. People who came after us were seated before us and we were told that it was because they had larger parties (we were only 2). We finally got frustrated and went to Longhorn Steakhouse where we saw several others we had been waiting with at Cotton Patch! That is the last time I will ever visit! This is so sad that your waiting and waiting to get seated, in the afternoon, when there are very few people in the restaurant. We were almost hitting 10 minutes of waiting.. and were about to leave. Two wait staff came by and told us "someone will be with you " when the same wait staff could have seated us. To top it off the night shift manager was working as a waiter and I guess couldn't step up yo help seat folks. I elderly lady with a walker came in after us and waited about 10 minutes as well was also told the same thing with no one showing up, she was also about to leave but they got to her before she walked out. Ordered on line for curbside pick-up. Said would be ready in 33 minutes. Got there on time then had to wait for over 30 minutes. Was told there was sudden rush. Went inside, only three tables in use. Entrée's were warm and fries were cold and soggy from sitting. Charged an extra dollar for onion rings as a second side and did not receive them. I rarely each chain places while traveling but we had a large group and were told by the hotel to give them a try. We were seated fairly quick and greeted quickly by our server. OUR SERVER WAS SOOOOOOOO SLOW! We had to ask multiple times for straws and multiple, multiple times for refills. I would totally understand if the restaurant was packed but it wasn't. Then came the food..........well half of it! We were a party of 8, half of the table got their food, then it took 10 minutes to bring out the rest! The onion rings are really really good, that's about all I can say nice about the food. Our server recommended green beans as their specialty which tasted of nothing more than canned green beans with BURNT bacon. The chicken fried chicken was very bland and the mashed potatoes as well lacked seasoning. All in all I would NOT recommend this place, no one in our party enjoyed their meal. read more

We've steadily patronized this business since its opening. Consistently good food with large standard portions. Smaller portions for some plates are available. The menu would be described as old-fashioned American fare. The service can be hit or miss depending on the experience of the server - but the same can be said for about anywhere. I came here the other day and had Robert as a server. The service was awful. His attitude was terrible and seemed annoyed the whole time he was serving us. He took a long time to do simple tasks like get us a refill and get our check. Would definitely not have Robert as a server again. The place may be southern food and called a cafe but it doesn't look like what you would expect by any means. It's a very nice restaurant and very clean. We are a party of 8 and seated quickly. Our waiter showed up about 5-6 minutes after being seated and took our drink order. Drinks arrived fast along with some nice big rolls. Our order was taken quickly and the corn bread we ordered came out quickly. The cornbread was very good, better than expected but wasn't warm. Our food arrived soon after and everything was perfect. The chicken fried chicken is very good. I had mashed potatoes, which I found dry but still good and the okra was nice and crisp. We tried the butter cake, it was way better than pictured. Wasted 1:45 minutes at this place tonight. Server was very inexperienced but lacked the basics of food service. We ordered drinks 2 beers and a soda. After finishing my water waiting for the drinks for 20 mins I finally flagged her down and asked where they were, she explain she wasn't old enough to serve them oh and they were out of Miller Lite. But she never brought the soda. Asked for the manager, and expressed our concerns and dissatisfaction. She spoke to the server who did bring the soda and the mgr brought the beer. Unfortunately nothing changed. When the food came, we made the mistake of ordering another 2 beers and had to ask for more soda. Soda came but the beer showed up after we finished eating. The bartender apologized explaining she was the only one who could serve it but I hadn't seen her in the dining room at all. Had to seek out server for the check and again asked to speak to the manager. Manager came over and she said she had spoken to server and server did turn order in late. I explained how I would rather let her know, so she could fix things. She said she was glad that she caught server before she ran our card, because card refunds are hard on their system. I assumed at this point she would take something off the check, but when came it came was full charge. I guess they need to figure how to provide a good dining experience and how to make a customer happy. Neither occurred tonight. read more

I'm not an experienced Cotton Patch goer. Been once probably won't go back. It's not horrible but there's just so many other places that are better. The cotton Patch at Wolf Ranch felt dirty and they use very dirty mop water to mop the entire floor. I know because as soon as we walked in we smelled it. It was awful. So we were turning around to walk out when we were finally greeted and sat down. We ordered the fried pickles which were very good. I don't know if the dirty mop water smell went away or we just got used to it. But it seemed to get better. The food was good no complaint on the food. We tried the fried green tomatoes which were awesome! However, the booth and table just didn't feel clean. So I give the Cotton Patch 3 stars. read more

This Cotton Patch is still a great place to get exceptionally prepared food and entres at a good value with delightful service. We visited the Wolf Ranch location last week Fri 21 Oct, we were nicy greeted, seated and Melanie H was our server. She was superb, very friendly, courteous and attentive. She made sure we were always taken care of. She took our orders and special orders and got everything right and fast. The food was delicious. The cooks and chef did a great job. We had the sampler - so good, and I had the steak and add a shrimp and potato, and my wife had the chicken froed steak. Everything was fresh fast and tasty. Generous portions at a very good price. Placed a pick up order at 4:15 for 5:00pm. One entree and one kids meal. My husband was given the wrong order and let person know that order was incorrect. Server seemed irritated and put out that he said order was incorrect (salmon vs chicken fried steak). She proceeded to come back after about 5 minutes and tell my husband this was his order and he showed the confirmation placed. She left for another 10 min and no word from anyone about what was going on. Finally 5:40 my husband has the order and zero apology given. My husband worked as a server, server trainer and restaurant manager so he has lots of patience with these situations but this was very frustrating for zero acknowledge of the situation. First time here. Beautiful location. Was with a friend. He seemed to enjoy his steak. Claimed everything was good. I, on the other hand am a much more sensitive restauranteur. I noticed the rolls were COLD and the butter didn't melt if it even was real butter. They had a tiny amount for 2 rolls. I had to ask for more. I had like a chopped steak with mushroom gravy, broccoli, and purple garlic mashed potatoes. I'm from the SOUTH! When I order something with gravy, I want GRAVY! Very little gravy was served (barely 3 tbsp.)and I had to ask for more. The chopped steak was over cooked. Not tender and VERY well done. I like to be able to eat my chopped steak with a fork. And GRAVY! These people were obviously showing how skimpy they were being. NOT ON GRAVY! NOT ON BUTTER! Pretty ridiculous. Hint: WHEN YOU'RE SHOWING HOW SKIMPY YOU ARE WITH GRAVY(which is SO CHEAP to make) AND BUTTER( enough for 2 rolls?)THAT IS NOT A GOOD IDEA! That right there is enough for people to leave and not come back. It shows you're being very tight, represents selfishness and greed. SHOW GENEROSITY, even if it's only GRAVY! PUT AT LEAST 2 PATS OF BUTTER(not 1 for 2 Rolls) in the butter dish! Good Grief. On the other hand, our little waitress was sweet and working hard. I hope she finds a good restraunt one day that will reward her instead of customers reviling her for mistakes management should be accountable for. We will probably give this place a second chance because my friend liked it, but you guys better get with the program. There's lots of potential for a great Home Cooking Restraunt in GEORGETOWN and you definitely have the view and location on your side, but you could learn a lot from Cracker Barrel. WOW!!!!!!! TV Dinners are better than this stuff they call food! Was craving a baked potato so I put that in Yelp and who pops up Cotton Patch. I decided to order the meatloaf and get the baked potato as a side (to fulfill my craving). The guy who answered to phone must have started 5 minutes before I called with ZERO training. He knew nothing about anything. Said the meal came with one side & it comes with two. I digress this is about the horrific food not the not the nincompoop who took my order. The meatloaf was a decent portion but tasted like grease! That was it's overwhelming flavor . . . . . . GREASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had to bury it in the sauce they gave me which helped mask the grease taste somewhat. It was by far the most disgusting meatloaf I had ever had. The baked potato was even screwed up (that's hard to do) and almost as small as a new red potato. Nor did they give any bread with the order. Lesson learned. . . . If I want PIG SLOP I'll go to the local gas station & dug through their dumpsters. I'm sure the food there is better. read more

A group of five went to Cotton Patch yesterday. Service was good. Two of us had the sirloin steak which was cooked medium but was dry. I measure the quality of a good steak by whether or not you have to wash it down with A-1. This one needed A-1. They are not really a restaurant that specializes in steak, so I guess I might be expecting too much. The wife had a salad that was very good, and another person in our group had the patty melt which she said was one of the best she has ever eaten. I have had their chicken fried steak and have to say it is one of the best in the area. I should probably stick with that next time. read more

Went here with my boyfriend since we have never been here before and I am not pleased. We walked in a there was literally just one older couple eating and the rest of the restaurant was empty. There was 3 people working on the kitchen that were occupied with cleaning. We stood at the hostess booth for about 5 minutes until we asked if they were open . We went in a little before 8pm and the sign says they close at 9. Finally someone came up to great us and sat us at a booth. She told us that our server would be with us soon. We waited for 15 mins and nobody came to greet or ask if we wanted anything to drink. We finally stood up and asked if someone was going to take our order and they said that they didn't even realize we were in the restaurant. They did not try to apologize or make things better. So We decided to leave. I hate leaving horrible reviews but I give no stars. I'm just hoping it was bad hostess service and did not have to deal with the fact that we're Hispanic.
