When I had trouble communicating through the speaker, the employee seemed visibly frustrated instead of trying to help. At the window, there was no greeting or customer service whatsoever. I wasn't greeted, thanked, or told to have a nice day. The employee silently handed me the card reader, took my payment, and handed me my food. I also wasn't asked if I wanted barbecue sauce or utensils. After leaving, I realized I wanted barbecue sauce, so I went back inside to get some. Then while I get back in the car, I discovered my meal was also missing the bread, pickles, and onions that are supposed to come with it. At that point, I didn't feel like making another trip to the counter just to get the rest of the meal I had already paid for. To make matters worse, I tried calling to provide feedback, but no one answered the phone. Everyone can have an off day, but this experience fell short in both customer service and order accuracy. Between the broken ordering screen, poor communication, missing meal items, and lack of even basic courtesy, I won't be returning to this location.

Everything was tasty. Nothing skipped a beat. My catfish was perfectly crunchy, flavorful, and fresh. I think this are some of the best yams I've had in th Austin area.! My string beans were yummm and cooked to perfection without comprising the texture. It was nice to sit outside and enjoy the breeze with plenty of seating available. I decided it was finally time to give it another shot, and I'm so glad I did. First of all, the service was phenomenal. The employee who took my order ~I believe his name was Aidan~ did an amazing job. Not only did he take my order quickly and efficiently, but since I was dining in, he also brought my food out to my table, which I really appreciated. Everywhere I go I always order some kind of dirty Mac and cheese, which in this case is the chopped brisket with Mac and Cheese, even though it isn't listed on the menu as a meal. I usually know exactly what I want before I get to the register so I don't waste anyone's time, and Aidan knew exactly how to ring it up. The entire transaction took less than a minute but didn't feel rushed. The atmosphere was very relaxed on a Thursday evening. It wasn't very busy, but after this visit, I can definitely understand why people keep coming back. The food was excellent. The mac and cheese was perfectly cheesy, and the chopped brisket was moist and flavorful. To finish off the meal, I had a slice of apple crumb pie for dessert, and it was a great ending to an already fantastic experience. I'll definitely be coming back again soon perhaps to try the breakfast tacos next time. If this visit is any indication, I have high hopes for them. This has become one of my favorite experiences at a local restaurant, and I'm excited to return.

If you read my other restaurant reviews, they are mostly negative. I have not found any restaurant which would feed me delicious high quality home cooked food. Sad reality of the restaurant industry- the exceptional ones cannot survive the competition with the chain restaurants and quietly disappear from the existence. I guess I will continue cooking and eating at home and be happy!
