You can really taste the love that went into all this food. This is a food truck right across from HEB mueller in that swimming pool parking lot. She's only open on the weekends and her food can be ordered on DoorDash but she has more menu items in person than on DoorDash. I online ordered and picked up 3 different orders. 2 of them were not ready and she had me wait in my car and she brought them out to me so I didn't melt in the heat. Now the important stuff the menu... Ok who knew you could fry ribs?!?! They were on point. 4 to an order. Ribs were still moist, the batter had a crunch, and the meat fell off the bone. The dirty rice was the best dirty rice I've ever eaten. It was loaded up with seafood The smothered pork chops were 2 to an order and 2 sides served on a bed of white rice. Also very moist and great flavor, the Mac n cheese was not runny which I personally hate when it's just a runny mess, the fried cabbage also had a great flavor and it was still crunchy. The jerk chicken had great flavor but it was ordered as mild (not by me) and it definitely needed the heat/spice,the jumbalaya side was also tasty We also got the hot Cheetos boudin balls (I forgot to take a picture) they were huge and not spicy at first bite the heat sneaks up on you. The strawberry crunch cake was a big slice and reminded me of strawberry cake doughnut but that banana pudding was also probably the best banana pudding I've ever eaten. I felt all the portions were huge and prices were fair. This definitely not a food truck to sleep on. I've been told she makes great oxtails but they sell out fast.

I ordered the fried fish plate with macaroni and cheese and candied yams, plus sides of sautéed cabbage and honey butter cornbread. My total came to just over $44, so I was expecting to be impressed. After ordering, someone came to the window and explained that they needed to make more mac & cheese and it would take 45 minutes. I requested a refund for that side, but when I received my order, it was included in the bag anyway. The food looked appealing, but my first bite of fish, while crispy, was flavorless. The mac & cheese wasn't mixed well and lacked seasoning. The candied yams had too much allspice, the sautéed cabbage was bitter, and the cornbread was crumbly rather than moist. Overall, I was disappointed--especially after waiting over 30 minutes for my food, having skipped breakfast in anticipation of this meal. Based on other reviews, I can see they've served great food, but unfortunately, today just wasn't that day.

As a family-owned restaurant, it has a welcoming, community feel and when the DJ gets going on weekends or R&B/Soul nights on Fridays, the place really comes alive. It's definitely a go-to for celebrations, birthdays, or a fun night out with friends. The seafood dishes deliver on that authentic Cajun flavor, seasoned well and satisfying for anyone craving Southern comfort food with a kick. That said, the atmosphere can be a bit much depending on what you're looking for. The music gets very loud - great for the vibe, but not ideal if you're trying to have a conversation across the table. Service can also be quite slow, especially during peak times, so patience is key. Overall, Down South Cajun Eats is perfect if you're in the mood for flavorful seafood and a party-like environment - but maybe not the best pick for a quiet dinner.

It includes Grits, eggs, bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes with your choice of waffles or French toast. This is a LOT of food for the price. Everything was also very well seasoned. I didnt need syrup on my waffle or any butter/sugar (yes I'm that girl) in my grits. I left very satisfied and would go for their brunch every weekend if I could.

Even though we arrived early to surprise the Birthday girl, our table was ready, and our server brought water as we awaited the guest of honor. Service throughout our visit was excellent. Goodfolks has an extended brunch menu and some interesting cocktails to get your motor running on a Sunday Funday. Bloodies and French 75s were table favorites. Check out their online menu for a complete list of their craft cocktails and local beer offerings. Highlights were the basic classic breakfast: applewood smoked bacon, 2 Vital Farms eggs, potato hash, and Texas toast. Three of us ordered our eggs served differently, and they all arrived perfecto. Another highlight was the chicken and biscuits. This serving is huge and was a struggle for most to finish. The chicken breast arrived crispy, lightly battered as advertised. The maple sage gravy and syrup honey butter provide a sweet taste to the dish. Two of us struggled to remember what business occupied this location before Goodfolks. Thank you, Elise, for your 2022 review, which reminded us that the Burger University was the previous tenant. I would recommend reservations, as they did get pretty busy. I went back and forth because I thought Tony's was closed today. But after checking again, I realized there are two locations. This location is open on Mondays. The other one is not, but you always have this location on Monday, which is really great. One reason is that after I ate my oxtails, rice, cabbage, and plantains, I realized I would need a location that is always open. Not to get ahead of myself, I walked inside and instantly felt the island vibe of beautiful Jamaica. I took it all in before ordering. The oxtails were the most tender I've had, with a lot of flavor. I should call this dish the most flavorful dish I've ever had. Every item on my plate had a lot of flavor. The rice alone should have its own spot on the menu. It's not always that you find a place that puts as much effort into the rice and peas, cabbage, and plantains as they put into the oxtails. But this place did. This was the real rice and peas that go with oxtails, not some made-up version. The plantains were highly favored; they weren't mushy, they had a firmness and a sweet and savory taste. Now the hostess wasn't friendly at all. I'm still wondering what kind of interaction that was. Of course, I was asking her about the menu, and she just stared at me. It was the strangest thing. To make sure this was happening, I brought up the other location, and she stared, her head tilted. She honestly mumbled one word, and I really don't know what that could have been. So that made me feel uncomfortable.

I have eaten in both the College Station and the Bryan version. I totally disliked both of them. * * * I am pleased to say the Round Rock Cotton Patch cafe is better than either of its Aggieland cousins. The Round Rock Cotton Patch is CLEAN. That is frequently not the case in Bryan or College Station. My food was not great. I had a brisket queso. The dish was not well designed. The brisket was lovely - but it all stuck together in one piece. The chips were conspicuously too thin for even for salsa. I couldn't pick up my queso with my cheap superthin chips. Not being able to pick up one's food defeats the purpose of providing chips in the first place. Not that I was missing any kind of big treat. The queso itself didn't taste like much. I didn't die but what I had wasn't great. * Entertainment value was low as well. On TV, two out of the three channels were Cotton Patch's own advertising-itself TV, The landscapes were all standard Texas Highway Department "Texas-Is-a-Lovely-Place-To-Visit-Right-Now". The show didn't make me want to visit any of those places. The frequent ads for Cotton Patch did not make me want to go out and buy Six Cotton Page Gift Certificate cards. I love my friends and family. I know some of the best people in the world. They have not done anything bad enough in this life to justify them being punished with gift certificates from Cotton Patch.
