Springhill feels like a restaurant that's been coasting on its reputation for a long time…read more The best thing I can say is that the fryer oil appeared clean. The catfish and fried items weren't greasy, rancid, or carrying that old-oil taste that ruins a meal. For a place centered around fried food, that's important. Beyond that, the experience was pretty underwhelming. The food was bland and forgettable, cafeteria-quality at best. The salad bar was sparse with limited choices, and nearly everything being served on Styrofoam makes the entire place feel cheap and dated. Service was adequate but nothing memorable. Nobody was rude, but there wasn't much attention to detail or hospitality either. What really stood out was the condition of the facility. The restroom looked neglected, and the sink was partially detached from the wall. When customers see maintenance issues that obvious, it raises questions about the overall upkeep of the restaurant. I don't expect fine dining from a catfish buffet, but I do expect decent food, a clean facility, and some pride in presentation. Aside from the fryer oil being in good shape, there wasn't much here that would make me want to return. Pros: Clean-tasting fryer oil, food served hot. Cons: Bland food, limited salad bar, heavy use of Styrofoam, mediocre service, facility needs maintenance.

I found this place on TikTok and looked up the location and we just drove straight to it. When we arrived I was confused because I expected a restaurant, but instead a food truck. Was I a little skeptical? Of course, I couldn't lie. Regardless, the reviews were great and their food looked amazing on TikTok. I ordered a #3, which came with 1/2 crab, 10 shrimp, 1 sausage, 1 egg, and 1 corn for $30. The seasoning I added was "lil kick" and Chili Limón. When we got back to our hotel, the food was still warm and I cannot say this enough... it was amazing. Absolutely 10/10. The crab was perfectly cooked and the seasoning was perfect. The shrimp came out so smooth and the potatoes were BOMB. I wish I took a picture before eating it all!

(eg. step one your plate, step 2 flavors etc.) and then he pointed at a sign on the side of the food truck which says was severely damaged and peeled off. We got #6 I believe which was 1lb of crab, 15 shrimp with sausage, one egg and one corn. Flavors were lemon pepper and Cajun but we asked for the mild option. I also emphasized on mild (bc I have acid reflux). The guy said to give him 15-20 min. 20 min go by and he said it would be ready in about 20min when we attempted to pick it up. Overall 40+ min for overly spicy (not mild at all) plate. I wouldn't come back here. Some of the crab legs barely had any meat in them too. I came here bc I didn't realize the other crab place in Pflugerville was closed.

I always want to support food trucks and black owned businesses…read more Service: Outstanding customer service and made you feel like family. Asked about the special and they notified me to which days it was being offered. This later in the afternoon and they advised that they were running low on items which was helpful to choose from the menu. Food: Unfortunately, I would like to give them a better rating but I was not satisfied what was so-called soul food. Only thing that was good was the fried ribs. The mac-n-cheese, and greens were not well cooked. Soul food to me is oven baked mac-n-cheese and not stove top mac-n-cheese. The greens were missing a lot of flavor. Again, the fried ribs were okay but nothing to be too excited about. Overall: I would like to give them another chance but I hope other items will taste a lot better than what I was able to experience. Once again, Mrs. Tonya was wonderful with excellent customer service and made you feel like family. Unfortunately, the food was not as good as I was expecting.
