Chicken fried steak, fries and fried okra
    Teri G.

As promised, I'm on a road trip that's dedicated to finding perfectly prepared and fried catfish and hushpuppies. And this is one of them. In one word, my sister in law described the hushpuppies... "superb" & when it comes to hushpuppies, she knows her stuff! Well seasoned with the right amount of spice, crunchy on the outside and luscious inside. Yum! The catfish was "clean" lightly "cornmealed" with just enough to stick, crispy outside, delectable inside. What more could you wish for? Loved the fresh broccoli, and the yellow squash is a slightly sweet compote of light breading, onions and too yummy for this girls diet. Hubby urged me to try his fried chicken breast tenders. "I know you don't like white meat, because it's tough and dry, but you have to take a bite of this" He was so right, and helped him polish off his generous serving. Portions were generous, well prepared, good quality and service was delightful. I'll be back!

    Strawberry Pecan Salad w/chicken breast

Not bad. This is my second visit, and it was better than the first. I ordered the strawberry pecan salad, and it was just ok. Very few strawberries on it for the price. There was a lot of bitter lettuces in it too. The service was good, and no issues with splitting the check. The restaurant was clean & our table was nice. I'll return in the future, but I think I'll try a different meal.

ORDER - Mozzarella Cheese Sticks - Chicken Fried Chicken - Rice and Broccoli Casserole - French Fries Mozzarella Cheese Sticks bring me back to my childhood. The outside is crispy and the cheese is stringy and melted. It was served with marinara sauce and ranch. Both the sauces tasted good and the Mozzarella Cheese The Chicken Fried Chicken was crunchy, but overall I would say the flavor of the chicken itself was pretty bland. I got jalapeno gravy which added a little kick and made the chicken slightly better. The rice and broccoli casserole tasted good and was well-flavored. The french fries were a little on the soggy side. I will note that the ranch tastes good though. Overall the food is pretty average (if not below average :(( ) VIBES There is plenty of seating available and most everything is wood to give some type of country vibe. There were a lot of families there as well. The atmosphere isn't too loud, but I will note something that was noticeable was that the tables, menus, and chairs all kind of felt sticky. SERVICE It took a while to be greeted at the front, especially with a noticeable party (we had 9 people crowded at the door) making the front area very crowded as more people poured in. It kind of seemed like we were being ignored despite the seated area not being very full. When seated, our waitress was very sweet; however, I will say that it took very very long for our water and drinks to be refilled. Additionally, the food took a really long time to come out.

5 stars - super friendly staff and great fried food. Good shopping area with everything you could need.

My aunt and I grabbed seats at the bar for a casual lunch and a cocktail, and from the moment we sat down, it was just... easy. Comfortable. The kind of experience that sneaks up on you in the best way. I wish I could remember our bartender's name because he deserves his moment--absolute doll. Attentive without hovering, friendly without forcing it, and just genuinely good at what he does. That kind of service sets the tone for everything else. I ordered the crab cake, and let me tell you--it delivered. Nicely done, flavorful, and clearly not an afterthought on the menu. Pair that with a really solid cocktail, and suddenly this "let's just grab something quick" lunch turned into a whole vibe. What stood out most was how pleasantly surprised I was at every turn. Nothing overhyped, nothing trying too hard--just good food, great service, and a spot that knows exactly what it's doing. Safe to say, I'll absolutely be back. There's more of that menu calling my name.

She helped me customize my meal to meet my dietary restrictions, to the point of checking on the cooking and making sure it was done correctly. She was kind, our service was prompt. She checked on us. We could not have had better service! They have half price bottles of wine on Monday! Now I have a reason to come on Monday! They have different specials all the time. Tonight they had a cod special that looks really yummy. They have many tables and booths inside and they have a beautiful bar. There's often times waiting to be seated, but not at the bar, you can always sit at the bar if there's a spot available and they will serve you there. So put this evening in a nutshell, service, outstanding! Thank you, Jen! Food amazing! I can clearly say I love this place I'll be back!

Usually, I get the chicken and dumplings. I was celebrating getting a new job so, I got the ribeye. I ordered it medium rare. Unfortunately, the cut wasn't good. It was thin and had thick gristle, throughout. I assumed that I would need salt. I asked for flakey salt. The sweet waitress/bartender, brought me kosher salt in a nice container. The salt helped! However, the steak was too far gone to help. It was closer to medium and, again, the cut was bad. (Note: I didn't complain! I'm sure that if I would have, they would have done anything to correct it!) The positives? The green beans were AMAZING! Still a bit crispy and tasted great! The mashed potato's were good. I ordered an Old Fashioned. It was wonderful! The service couldn't have been better! I love the bar side of Wildfire! The seating can be private or meant for people watching. It's very comfortable! I said this was my first time here, and that I was excited to try them. She was super polite, very friendly. She sat me at a booth. She walked away for a quick minute and came back with a water glass and a small pitcher of ice cold water. My server came around. And gave me my menu and said you gotta try the whiskey Cake. Cake? Did someone say cake? Yes please. With cake on my mind. I thought I better balance this out. So I played it safe and got the grilled chicken salad. Also she said everything is house made from scratch, such as the cocktails, juice, salad dressing and so on. I did order a juice from the bar. It was the Jessica Wabbit with mint, carrot, lime, ginger, and some other flavors. The drink was handed to me first. Lovely flavors, could taste the fresh mint, fresh ginger. A little sweetness with the pineapple. Brilliant mix of flavors. The salad was very large. Dressing was fresh, rich with basil and garlic. Chunks of bacon and wedges of hard boiled eggs, avocado chunks, blue cheese scattered around, and the grilled chicken, warm juicy and beautifully chard. Love that charred flavor. The salad dressing was really delectable. Wonderful salad. Next came the whiskey cake. This cake should be its own food group. The cake itself has a beautiful flavor, it's a little dense, in a good way. The sauce is outstanding, it's toffee and sweet. Heavenly really. Pecans on top are spiced. I could only eat half of the cake. I'll snack on that later tonight. The food was outstanding. I would love to come back and try other food items. Service was perfection. I had so many wonderful conversations with everyone I came in contact with. I was wished well by everyone I passed by. Even in the bathroom, the host was coming out and she asked how my visit was. I mean, just the most genuine southern hospitality. Top notch service! Parking lot was packed. And they do have a pretty large lot all around the building. The whiskey cake is probably this restaurant's saving grace as the cake is decadent moist, and the combination of the pecans with the caramel and the whipped cream all just make it so delicious. It was definitely worth the wait to have it at the end and in retrospect, it probably would have done well to have first since the food that we ordered was a little more on the lackluster side. I found it hard to be impressed by the prime rib and Gouda stack as they were no defining flavors for this rather expensive sandwich and the mac and cheese was also not very memorable. When it comes to the service provided at the restaurant, there were many times where it felt as though our table had been forgotten to be waited upon, despite there not being many other people at the restaurant. Overall, I think my experience at Whiskey Cake was OK and while I may not return for the food necessarily, I would for the cake.
