Since it appears my review was removed, let me add it back!!! I went to this restaurant about a month ago and it was around 4 pm. We waited several minutes for a table, place was empty. Then waited about another 10 minutes just for a drink. Rolls came out hard and old. Waitress had zero personality or concern. We got our salads, something tasted off so I told the waitress and she took them from the table and said she would notify the kitchen. Then waitress came back and said we are out of Mac and cheese, in which one of us had ordered. Wow! Ok, food then came out...waited again for ketchup for about 10 more minutes. Food was cold by then. Got my bill and salads were on my bill. At that point I was just literally drained from all this and just paid my bill and left. That evening my friend that ate with me was home vomiting from said salad! Corporate reached out to me after my review and said they wanted to make this right. I said ok. Well I got two call's from the restaurant back to back while I was outside. I immediately called the number back and got a recording so I just hung up, over it again at that point. Heard nothing from them again. They then somehow removed my review! Still not coming back. I had hope for a split second. Really all I wanted was to have the salads removed from my $38 bill. Ordered on door dash. Two chicken fried chicken plates came without gravy.... how? The staff also didn't include honey mustard or ranch with our appetizers. Lastly they forgot to include green beans and macaroni sides. Essentially the whole meal was halfway tossed in the containers. read more

I used the Doordash to order chicken fried steak. For the second time in a row, I didn't receive gravy with the meal! What's worse, I even called Cotton Patch directly, and spoke to a manager to make sure my order was correct. He reviewed my order and said he would make sure it was correct. We went here for lunch a couple of weeks ago and the service was terrible. We waited an hour to get our food which was barely warm. There were maybe 5 tables with people and probably double as many workers. The wait was taking so long that a table that came in after us left. They had been there at least 35-45 mins and said they had seen the same order sitting ready to be delivered to a table since they got there (more than likely it was probably our meal). This was my second time visiting a cotton patch. I went with my boyfriend and we both enjoy southern comfort food so we were excited. We ordered the fried mushrooms which were okay, just extremely greasy. The "complimentary" rolls were good but they never brought us back anymore (just 1 per person). He ordered the chicken fried chicken and I ordered the chicken tenders. The first bites were good... until we noticed that neither of our chicken was cooked all the way. He cut into his and the meat was pink. I bit into my second tender and had to spit it out because it was pink and uncooked. I couldn't eat anymore as I felt disgusted. The service was great but I'm disappointed in the quality of the food which seemed very different from the Frisco location. So we haven't ate at the restaurant but I have to say that they are awesome!! We were just arriving into Dallas, moving from Washington state and another driver pulled out of WINCO and T-Boned our moving truck. It was quite warm and the staff brought out glasses of ice water for all of us involved in the accident. We had to practically beg to get any kind of service at all. They had good management the last time we were there, but apparently that team left or was fired for some reason. We eat here probably at least once or twice a week. The menu is broad. There are full meals to lighter choices. Their lunch menu isn't too much cheaper than ordering at dinner, but still good selection. Most of the servers are pretty good. We've only had a few we don't care for. I always enjoy the food here. I like that I can get steamed vegetables. My favorite is the blackened tilapia. I hate to give them only 3 stars. I would give the food 5 stars. Waiter was doing all he could for being only 16 but had to many tables to be attentive plus he also had to play host so props to him for working so hard but the kitchen staff needs to learn to work as hard as their front of staff. I hate to give Cotton Patch a bad review. We have had numerous meals at the Cotton Patch in Lake Worth, Texas and enjoyed each and every one. So tonight we tried the Cotton Patch in Denton. It began with rolls, as usual. Except tonight we got one roll that looked like someone had squished it and one roll that was too brown. The waiter was very pleasant when we requested new rolls and left to go get some. There were two plates on the table and I picked up the top one and laid it on the table. I looked at that second plate and it just didn't look right. I looked closer and saw smears of food and butter. A dirty plate. Gross! The manager was very nice and assured us that the rest of our meal would be perfect, but we had lost our desire to eat. read more

I had a great experience at Cotton Patch with my friends due to my server, Josh. The service was great and truly surpassed any of my expectations. Josh was kind and welcoming while also quick with our service. He didn't make us feel rushed and we had great conversation each time he came to check on our table. The food was also good, Josh recommended the chicken fried steak which was a special that day. He also recommended the chicken dumpling soup since it was one of his favorites and after trying it, I see why! I ordered curbside pickup, and nowhere did anything in the app or the signage at the restaurant say I needed to call to state that I'd arrived. I waited until just after my order was supposed to be ready and went inside to find the sealed bag of food sitting on the to-go counter for pickup. I was annoyed, but this is okay, even if it meant a slightly cooled chicken fried steak (ugh). But then I get home with the bag, and the gravy with the chicken fried steak was missing, as was one of the desserts we ordered. My mistake for not checking, but their huge mistake for not putting in what we ordered and paid for. It's frustrating that it was one thing on top of another, and only when I called to see what was up did I get any indication that I was supposed to call the local number to announce that I'd arrived curbside. We're all struggling and figuring out life in the pandemic, but geez. I don't make enough money not to get what I pay for. We were starving, running errands and saw a flat tire on a vehicle, parked in a handicap spot. My daughter saw them go in here. We popped in and told the waitstaff. It smelled delicious. After brief deliberations, we decided to stay and man was it worth it! They have a $7 lunch special that was outstanding, perfectly sized to contue errands and not have food sit in the car all day. The food is lovely. I suspect the management is not. Everything I've gotten here tasted fantastic. The salmon is amazing, the salads are well-mixed, the sides are rich, the cakes are moist. I never eat here and regret what I ordered. Everything here tastes great. However, I have countless stories of issues with their management. We came in with a group of eight once--eight people who all ordered different things, different meats, different genres of food. Every single person had to order a different dish because of missing ingredients. I know supply issues have been rough lately. But if you're missing that many items, how can you be open? Another visit, the restaurant had at least four 12-tops and only two waiters who were horribly overworked. And being an Uber Eats driver, I always prepare for a solid wait picking up food here, because it's always late. If you have time on your hands, it's a tasty place to go. But it's not the best in Denton, and the issues with staffing are formidable. Consider other restaurants. read more

To start off with I want to say that I usually frequent this restaurant- just a different location. However I picked this one as it was close to family that I was meeting. I talked about how great this restaurant is and this location was extremely disappointing. It started upon entry. I came in with a disabled person and we needed to be seated somewhat quickly. The hostess walked away to go talk to the servers for what seemed like forever. The place only had customers at a few tables so its not like they had to figure out a place to seat us. There were 5 of us-so not a large amount either. We ordered drinks. 2 of our group requested lemon for their tea. There was no lemon. Then we started receiving our food. We requested napkins as there were none brought out. They had none. We ended up with tiny little bar napkins. The whole lunch process took quite a while because they were understaffed. And the food was subpar from what I am used to. On top of all of this I was charged a 5% surcharge to help the restaurant when they didn't even supply napkins. Our server was awesome and did the best she could with what she had to work with. Needless to say, I was embarrassed for suggesting this restaurant and will not return to this location read more

TERRIBLE. the roast itself was not tender, and the flavor was bland. it appeared to be cooked in gravy. portions were tiny, especially the vegetable(1 small carrot). notice, i said vegetable, singular. not at all like the picture. tasted about how a picture would taste, tho. i have been getting the sunday pot roast from cracker barrel, which is right across the street, for several months. COTTON PATCH, ARE YOU LISTENING? you need to go to cracker barrel and get their pot roast, then you will taste/see what you are up against. plus, it costs less. and you get more. a LOT more. i suggest you remove the pot roast from your menu until you learn how to make it. read more

This evening I placed an order using the online ordering at 1949 hrs. I got an email that said the food would be ready at 2019 hrs. I arrived to pick up my order. I parked in spot number 1. At 2025 hrs I telephoned to let them know I was there to get my order. The gal told me as soon as my food was ready, they'd bring it out to me. At 2046 my food was still not out. I telephoned inside to see what the issue was. The gal I spoke to told me it would be about five more minutes. At 2055 hrs, a gal finally brought my food out. She apologized for the wait. She said I could speak to a manager, however I was ready to eat and didn't want to wait any longer. This was my first time ordering or visiting a Cotton Patch and it will be my last time. read more

I wasn't impressed with their non customer service. I ordered online for curb pickup. When arrived i waited 10 min at the curb, so I went inside. Then waited 10 min more watching staffers walk past me and never acknowledging me. Finally someone said "hello". And i was already mad. I asked for my order. They finally found it and said were out of what you ordered. No one ever called me and they already charged my card. They did offer to substitute but not what we wanted. Then they said it would be 48 hrs to a week to see my refund. It wasn't a return it was an order that was never fulfilled. Their service is terrible. No manager insight. Staffers were non caring like they didn't want to be there. The floors were nasty there was a rag on the floor and other stuff that they kept walking around. Would i recommend NO because Chili's, Cracker Barrel and Cheddar's is just right there and better experience with them. read more

The catfish was wonderful as was the cadillac queso! We eat out a lot and always order queso. Cotton Patch has the best queso! Hubby ordered fish and chips and ate every bite. Son ordered meat loaf and cleaned his plate. The staff went out of their way with COVID-19 cleanliness having the acrylic walls spacing behind each table/booth. Hand sanitizer is at the door and the place is ultra clean. The manager Harold came by and ensured we had everything and was very professional and welcoming. This is a good place to go for some country cooking. However this location has been a disappointment the couple of time I have been. This weekend I went and order fish and shrimp. The shrimp are small but good but when I said the fish was extremely fishy. (Which makes me believe it could have sat out too long or old) They did not address it until after I paid the bill then the waitress told me the manager told her to tell me their fish is market fresh, and that is why it is fishy. She went on to say how fresh their fish is. I was really stunned by the response. Not my idea of customer service. I was not expecting a free meal but take a few bucks off. My son in law also Tasted it, and said no way. So I guess if you don't like their food they don't care. I placed an online delivery order last night at 7:48pm. It stated it was estimated to arrive by 8:55pm. When nothing had updated on the tracker I called the restaurant at 8:49pm only to be told that our food was ready and "had been ready for a long time, along with a bunch of other orders that had been sitting there for a long time". I asked them to set it to the side and I would drive to get it. When I arrived the restaurant had two tables sat and the entire wait staff was standing in the kitchen area joking around. The two employees working the pick up area were busy with another pick-up order, and not one of the wait staff acknowledged that I was standing there. After getting home with my order I discovered I was given the wrong appetizer, most of the food was lukewarm at best, and the fish was really poor quality and overcooked. Then as my household is preparing to go to sleep after 10pm, a delivery driver randomly shows up, drops someone else's order at my front door, and rings the doorbell. Honestly the worst part about that is the fact that according to the receipt... THAT OTHER PERSON'S ORDER WAS OVER 4 HOURS OLD by the time it was dropped on my doorstep! Why was it even available for the driver to take it at that point?!? When I set out to see how to receive a refund today, I can't figure out how I'm supposed to go about getting one! Finally a home cooking type place where Southern food is prepared the way Mommas fix it. I ordered the kids chicken strips, mashed potatoes with gravy and green beans. It was plenty for a Senior citizen. The wedge salad is not on the menu, by still available. I highly recommend it. We splurged and shared the Dr pepper cake. It was so good I wanted to slap some one. Molly was our server the fist time we went in. She was top notch. With the team work, we never waited for a refill on tea. My SWEET TEA was exactly the way we make our's at home. I almost forgot about the fantastic rolls that comes while you wait or your meal. They are hot, huge and oh so good..I stole that from Mr Food, of years ago. The liquor license hasn't been approved as of Valentine's day...but the prices looked more than fair. I have always been a fan of Cotton Patch,so I am happy to have my go to restaurant in Denton. read more

We were pretty disappointed with our meal because we have always enjoyed Cotton Patch in Frisco. Our waiter was trying his best was apparently overwhelmed. We could over the look the issues with service. Our food was horrible. My burger was still bleeding. My son, who loves mashed potatoes, announced very loudly that his mashed potatoes were awful. My husband has ordered the same meal from Cotton Patch in many occasions quietly pushed his plate to the side and whispered that it just wasn't very good. Sadly, today was his birthday and Cotton Patch is where he chose to go. Hopefully they get better. But my family will be making the drive to Frisco the next time we want Cotton, or we'll just go to Cheddar's. read more
