Out of the two Costco locations in Hillsboro/Beaverton, this is my preferred store and here are the reasons why: - HUMONGOUS! Have you ever been to Costco and it felt like rush hour in southern California? Every time I come here, I never feel this way. It's bigger than the Beaverton store, which makes the entire Costco experience much more enjoyable. - PIZZA $2 and POLISH SAUSAGE $1.50!! - Super friendly staff and very helpful. One day, I came here thinking my tires were old and worn out. The tire guys checked them out and told me that they were still good, and that I should wait at least a year before even thinking about purchasing new ones which saved me big $$$. - Hassle-free returns, even without a receipt! - Last but certainly not least, SAMPLES!!! I just love love love the samples :) I come here to eat and shop after. About five months ago my parents got a 52" TV and it's great. We love the Cheddar/Caramel Corn mix popcorn in the blue bag, (most people refer to it as Costco Crack lol) it's great for a late night snack or quick munchies for work. I love Costco! It is a great store to get your bulk shopping done all in one place! They have great samples at lunch time that almost always get me to buy something not on my list. For specific things Costco is the place to go. They have good prices and selection on soaps (dishwasher and clothes washer both). I like their avocados, snacks, and a few staples. I find their cheese hit or miss. The Tillamook cheddar 2.5lb blocks seem like lower quality then the 2lb blocks other places have. I don't buy them anymore. The kerrygold butter and manchego sheets cheese are always great. The hot food here is about what you expect. I mean $1.50 for a drink and a hot dog isn't setting the bar very high. It's definitely a better than you'd expect, but I don't get people coming in just for that. I like looking at all the new huge TVs, but I am too cheap to buy one until my current one dies... I love Hillsboro Costco! The store is HUGE and the employees are so helpful. I stopped to look at Mac books and the sales rep was straight forward and was honest. Even though he could try to sell me the most expensive laptop there he was truthful and told me his favorite laptop was a different brand laptop there and that now has me deciding which way I want to go! The tank was nearing empty. I was a stranger in a strange land (seriously, Hillsboro did NOT fit in with the rest of Oregon. At all. It's like somebody imported a generic DC suburb and snuck it in without telling anybody.). And there were no gas stations to be found other than this Costco. I have shopped at every Costco in the Portland area and this is by far the best one. Large selection of items, super wide aisles, very short wait at the register most of the time and clean as a whistle. An added benefit about gassing up at Costco is those very long pump hoses. Get into any line you want, it doesn't matter what side your gas tank is on, it'll reach and they won't give you a hassle like other gas stations! read more

My hearing aid battery died while in the store and I'm an hour away from my batteries. At first I figured I'd just deal with limited hearing for the afternoon, but figured I'd ask at the hearing center if they'd hook me up. I love Costco. (The electronics, the bulk veggies, the truly awesome whole wheat spaghetti.) And I hate Costco. (The crowds. The excruciatingly busy parking lots. The crowds.) That's why I do almost all my Costco shopping at this particular Costco. Yes, I live on Portland's east side. Yes, I have my own nearby Costco. But this Costco is so much less crowded. I love, love, love Costco. I love the great deals on clothes, food, furniture...and I love their return policy! I love eating the free samples, as I peruse over the many books and DVDs. I love the element of surprise as new products are always showing up. I also love the photo department. I always upload my photos at home, they are then processed very quickly at the Photo Dept. The quality is always superb! The prices can't be beat! We have bought many things at Costco over the year. Mattresses, wine, clothes, vacuum, electronics, food, sundries...and so on. What I have found, most of the time, is that items sold at Costco seem to be of higher quality. What's more, if something of poor qualtiy slips through, you can always return it. This is, of course, the largest Costco in the US, so there is just so stinkin much to look at. I love it! I feel spoiled having this in my back yard! So, the drawbacks I see are as follows. First, prices are not always that great. I have found that discount grocers, like Winco have the same products, (smaller packages) that cost less per lbs, than at Costco. Second, weekends here are CRAZY! I try to never shop here except on weekdays because of the crowds. And, finally, there are a few bad apples staffed here. The florist, and some optical people (to name a couple) are rude, rude, rude! Honestly, most of the staff is so incredibly nice, so I wonder to myself why do they keep the rude, incompetent workers around. There are plenty of people who would happily take their jobs and do it a whole lot better. These complaints are why I did not give Costco 5 stars. read more

World's largest COSTCO! ...more isles means more samples. So big they even have a 2-story tall coffee roaster in the middle. The fresh cut flowers have their own refrigerated room. Go before 6pm week nights and closer to closing on the weekends and you shouldn't have trouble getting a fairly close parking spot. Order a pizza from the front (you can call it in while you shop) and you pay less for a larger pizza than the take-n-bakes in the back. This is the ONLY one that I know of that continually has large stuff for the house like granite slabs for counters, kitchen cabinets, couches, huge rugs, etc... We will upload our photos before leaving home and they are usually ready by the time we drive there or at the latest, by the time we are done shopping. read more

Today August 2 of 2021 around 5:30 pm I went to order a Hotdog and cheese pizza on the kiosk. as I was waiting for my pizza the workers in the food place where being slow and talking with each other. during that time they messed up the receipts order and gave the food to those who came first instead of those who ordered first. they kept messing up and i waited there more than 10 minutes. they have a horrible service attitude as well. what's the point of having those machines that are supposed to make their work "easier" if they keep doing this type of stuff? read more

Bought a bag of Inkagold minneolas yesterday, and I peeled one today only to find fungus growing in the middle of the fruit. This was the third time I was returning an item to this Costco, and it was the first time the Refund Clerk was nice to me. The other Refund Clerks treated me like I was committing a felon, even tho' I always have a legitimate reason w/ my original receipts. I didnt know this was the largest Costco warehouse. Maybe thats why I feel like the workers here seem less happy and enthusiastic compared to all the other Costco's I've been to in my life. I came here all the time when I lived in the city and this was where I did the bulk of my shopping - food, cleaning supplies, bed, magazines, frozen goodies, gift cards, etc. They have everything you can imagine and I am so thankful Costco exists. :) When I was having car trouble and my tires were flat (I previously got my tires from Costco), I brought it straight to the tire shop here and the tech was extremely helpful - he literally saved my life! I brought my vehicle in to check for a leak in the tires I just bought about a month ago. Nathan came out to help and said that there had been two nails in the tire and that it might not be able to be fixed but he went out of his way to try anyways. Unfortunately it didn't work, but Nathan didn't just throw on the spare and send me packing. He looked up to see if he could get another tire for me but again misfortune struck again... The specific tires I have were on back order and couldn't even be ordered due to the high demand. Yet again Nathan went above and beyond and searched everywhere in the area and found some in Vancouver. He called ahead for me and had the tire put on hold for me and even set me up with the information I needed to just walk in and get the ball rolling once I got to Vancouver. This guy definitely went above and beyond the usual service I am used to. read more

It's a huge warehouse full of things you want, dream of, and of course things you have absolutely no use for. The free food samples are great and of course, get you to buy stuff. I been to the biggest Costco in the US now and I was expressed. It looks like a regular Costco outside, but on the inside oh my be prepared. It is very wide full of furniture, food, clothing, electronics and much more. I was very impressed. They have a lot of chocolate and more stuff for people to buy. Love that Costco realizes regional products are important and stock varying products in all their stores... Results in finding some things in one store and maybe not another...guess that could be both a pro and a con. Found some gift certificates to local restaurants, saved money and ate some good food. Great! prices on mostly great products. My gripes are these: 1) it's almost impossible to find someone to ask them where something is, especially if you happen to be away from the front of the store. 2) There is no store directory and they are constantly moving things. They *want* you to travel all through the store looking for things! I had my suspicions, so I asked and this was confirmed by a store employee! It's part of their "advertising." 3) If you happen to be handicapped you need to either bring your own motorized cart or get there the second they open the doors because I think they maybe have 3 carts, which is very frustrating. Hubby had had his knee operated on and had to use crutches for 6 weeks. If you've ever had to use them, you know that you can't use them for any length of time. It's just too hard on your body! So, he needed a cart and they were *all* in use - for a long time. 4) Their bakery products have ingredients in them not conducive to putting on even more weight than if they used natural ingredients, such as partially hydrogenated oils. Every once in a while it would be nice to have bread made with good, wholesome ingredients. Needless to say, we don't buy anything pastry/bakery related from Costco. read more

This is a great Costco. There is always ample parking and no matter what time of day, or what day for that matter, we come in, it's never too crowded and the lines aren't terrible. Decent beer selection and I'm happy to notice that they are getting more and more organic foods. I like this Costco more than the one in Aloha. Seems to have better parking and less people. Get out of my way, I'm here for the samples. When I lived in Phoenix, I knew that Sunday mornings before 11 were the best time to go shopping at Costco. This is not the case for Oregon Costco's. I have yet to find the "magical" time where I can almost have the store to myself. So therefor, get ready to wait in line and dodge carts coming at you with a screaming child in the basket. Costco is the best way to get bulk products at a great price. They also seem to have the best deals on electronics and even wireless products. I have bought pretty much everything from Costco, between a cell phone to some toilet paper. If you need it, pretty sure they have it, in great quantity. The employees are genuine and are always very pleasant. They can pretty much start up a conversation about any topic while you wait in line getting ready to spend a weekly minimum of $250. You can also upgrade to the executive membership to receive more money back at the end of the year. We did this recently, I hope it pays off. read more

Costco is a love/hate relationship for me.... I love it because it has everything, and I hate it because it has everything including stuff I never knew I wanted. I go in for some fruit and taco seasoning and I leave with fruit, taco seasoning, a case of Mt Dew, a bag of 250 string cheeses, a 5lb bag of Doritos, a 12 person tent and enough roast chicken to feed a platoon. For the Tire Center. I had ordered tires online. Came to the location 2 times and couldn't get in because of how busy and then the were understaffed and slammed another time with customers. My second encounter at the tire store by another staff member was less than ideal; he really didn't seem to care and seemed quite put out to make an appointment for me. Made appointment (highly recommend this if you are time sensitive) and came in 1/29. Justin at front was really great and completely understood my install (switching from 17" to 18" tires and rims). There was no one in the queue and my car went right in and done very quickly. In terms of cost the tires were less that local tire shops and the charges to install very reasonable. Love the new Michelin's and the great deal for $70 off the set of 4. Planning and making an appointment is essential; also having the professionalism and knowledge that was given to me was really appreciated. read more

Costco pharmacy Hillsboro. A Waste of time Needed to pick up a prescription for a dental procedure. Waited an hour and half for the prescription and were then told our insurance was rejected and we would have to pay full price. Very upsetting, chilling feeling. We left and called our insurance. There had been no request from the pharmacy nor any rejection all of which are logged. Went to Walgreens and filled the prescription in a half hour without any issue, we concluded that CostCo just didn't want to be bothered with processing the insurance and just wanted us to pay full price. Great selection, very good quality products, friendly and helpful staff. As Executive member we got 2% rebate once a year. Last year we bought $190 patio umbrella and in 5 months wood pole get expanded a little at the bottom and we can't take it out through the hole in our glass table. I went to the store, explain situation and they say: if you'll need cut it to take it out, do so and bring it in for refund. Today I went to Costco for a few items we needed for the house and for our child. We always have a (fairly) easy time finding what we need so that is nice! Coming to Costco for diapers has been saving us so much money! To get to the point of updating my review of Costco, we decided to hit the food counter after for some lunch and as I was paying I had set a 20$ bill down from getting cash back that I hadn't had a chance to put in my wallet yet due to feeling like I needed to hurry and get out of the way so I could grab the 7$ we needed to pay for our food. I realized as we were getting ready to leave I never picked the 20$ bill back up! I went to go and ask if they happened to grab it and it turned out that an employee had grabbed it and went and asked another customer if it was theirs. That customer took that 20$ knowing full well it wasn't theirs to take. The employees at the food counter were beyond helpful and gave me my 20$ back! I am so so thankful for Costco and their wonderful customer service. I surely would have never seen that 20$ again if I had set it down at a different store! First item of note: You don't need to be a member to use the Pharmacy. While they don't have the fashionable $4 prescription list, here's what they do have: -- No fees to join any program, like Walgreens does. -- Drugs on those $4 lists which cost less than $4 (whether other pharmacies have raised prices on very cheap drugs, to $4). -- Others on other pharmacies' $4 lists cost $5-6 at Costco, not bad. -- Generics that aren't on other pharmacies' $4 lists tend, in my experience, to cost 25-75% less at Costco. -- A discount program for people without insurance, which costs nothing to enroll (and includes no junk mail). -- If you have insurance, they automatically check whether your copay is higher than the cash price, and charge you whichever is less. Other pharmacies force you to pay the insurance price. -- THE BEST refill system. Call in, good automated system. If you need a refill you just press yes to authorize it, and from what I understand it auto-faxes your doctor. They stay on top of refill requests better than any pharmacy I've used. -- The pharmacists have been proactive in suggesting other ways to write a prescription that will save money (for instance, ask for 3 of the 10mg, not 2 of the 15mg). -- Happy to give info over the phone if you get home and see something weird on the scrip information. -- Generous with advice about OTC drugs. -- Helpful getting multiple prescriptions on the same refill cycle. The waits are often long, for refilling several, but if you press "0" when you call in and ask for an earlier time, they usually get right on it. The store itself, we already know. I'm surprised by how much of my own groceries come from Costco. Their frozen salmon is great for a single person or a household of two: each fillet is individually wrapped and serves one or two -- you can even poach them in the packet in the microwave. The produce is fantastic -- the pack of hearts of romaine tends to survive 3-4 weeks in my fridge. I'm a protein fiend, and their big container of whey isolate costs half as much as everywhere else. And yeah, I can eat 2 pounds of cottage cheese during the several weeks it remains fresh. The choices in the snack section are improving: unadulterated nuts, Kashi bars, and Zone bars. The healthcare section is great: Good quality vitamins and supplements, and OTC medicines also tend to run half what they cost elsewhere. This particular store gets my 5-stars because of their front end service. Want to return an $1100 piece of furniture bought 10 months ago online, and you don't have the receipt (because it was an online purchase)? No problem -- hope a cash refund is OK. This fall I was working for a group of foster care homes that dropped an immense amount of money at Costco every week. An assistant manager noticed we'd arrive, fill up 4 carts, then stand around waiting for our regional manager to arrive with the Costco Card and the Amex. It was fine with us: one stays with the carts, one takes clients to the food court for lunch. But it bugged the manager that we had to wait, so she spent a few days researching every possible option, so that we could have a smoother shopping experience while complying with corporate fiscal policies. And don't get me started on the cashmere, and the wool socks, that come in during the winter ... or their flower bulbs, which have been the most reliably surviving, year after year, than any other big-box-brand I've tried. This location is also convenient to MAX (as absurd as it sounds to go to Costco without a car). Just remember to bring a DEBIT card if you don't have Amex, or if you're not a member and want to write a check. They don't take Visa/Mastercard credit but they do take Visa/MC debit. read more

Took a trip to Costco which for me is 25 miles one way. Arrived at 10:30;to shop but wanted to get my Costco purchased Michelin tires rotated. I was told at 10:45that they were BOOKED for the DAY. I was told to make an appointment to rotate my tires I'm not going to drive another 50 miles round trip for a free rotation. Apparently Costco is in the tire business but not the service business, I can buy tires anywhere. I spend on the average over $10,000 a year and that doesn't include what my son, that also is a member spend. I will really have to rethink keeping my membership. if i could give their online mailing service a zero i would i got my package it was to pangia masks and it came off the delivery truck with the top of the package ripped open. we got the whole delivery on home survellience unit and it shows the truck dropping it off ripped. i made sure there was no porch pirates before that so i will not make any mistake very saddened. one of those masks was a gift. costco a billion dollar industry with very cheap package shipping. read more

I have been to more than 20 Costco stores in the US and overseas. This location is the biggest or one of the biggest, which means they carry few extra items you will not find at other stores. Where they really stood out was the fast moving checkout lines and the fact that they run and pick up "cage items" for you. I recommend visiting this store. read more
