I purchased tires from Costco in the late summer of 2023 and then subsequently had a flat tire in February of 2024 on the same set of tires. I had to return to the store multiple times after being told that it was fixed each time. The first time, they told me they found a rock in my tire, which sounded odd to me, after they initially inspected the wrong tire when I specifically told the front desk which tire it was. The second time, they said they pulled a screw out. All of these turned out to be lies because the third time I went in, Costco cross threaded my lug nuts, and sheered off the studs on the wheel hub. My vehicle had to be towed, and the head mechanic Shaun, assured me everything would be covered by Costco and even gave that promise to me in writing. I thought "honest mistake, could happen to any tire shop by accident, as long as they reimburse me for the damages, all is forgiven." Afterwards, the total for the damages that Costco caused to my vehicle included 79.95 for an initial diagnosis of the damage, 364.23 for a new wheel hub assembly, 22.41 for new lug nuts, and 197.31 of labor costs, bringing the total up to 663.90. I then went back into Costco and they tried to write me a check for 137 dollars claiming that was all they owed for the damages, after clearly not understanding the invoice or mechanics of a vehicle at all. The assistant supervisor of Costco was trying to argue price with me for 30 minutes in front of everyone. I then called the mechanic who did the repairs to clarify some things for the store, which he did. Then the assistant manager of Costco tried to just pay me for the lug nuts, and the wheel hub assembly, which brings that total to 386.64, approximately 277.26 short from what they actually owed me for labor and the initial inspection costs also. At this point I had been there for an hour and needed to go to work so I left to come back the next day. The next day I set the check on the desk and said I needed to speak to the manager about this because I'm still short money from the damage that Costco caused. Fredrico snow then came out from the back and then proceeded to try to tell me that Costco doesn't cover the labor charge or the initial invoice and tried to tell me I already got paid for what damage was done which was grossly incorrect. I told him at that point I am not leaving until I get a check for 277.26 for my labor and initial inspection costs. He then went to talk to the manager (who never actually came to see me as requested). He came back and tried to tell me they "never do this" but is going to pay me for the labor costs but not the initial inspection and said "why is that on there, why can't they just fix the damage?" Initial inspections from a mechanic are standard procedures literally anywhere you go, and take time which costs money. I then told him, "I'm not leaving this store until I get paid for the labor costs and the initial invoice costs for damage that you guys caused to my vehicle, and then told me that you would repair in writing. If I don't get a check for everything, I'm going to drive straight down to the county courthouse and sue the store in small claims court with no lawyers allowed and get my money and then you will have to pay my filing fees as well." He then went to go talk to his manager AGAIN and left me waiting for 30 minutes before finally coming back with a check for everything and then proceeded to actually have the nerve to tell me, the customer who was wronged that "the conversation is over after this." As if anyone in that shop had any leg to stand on to tell me that the conversation is over. They then tried to give me a release of liability form to fill out which would waive my right to a lawsuit if I wanted to pursue one, but gave me this AFTER I received my check (LMAO). Normally you would give the check to me after you get me to sign a release of liability form. Instead I took my check and promptly threw that form in the trash. That tire shop is so beyond inept at doing the simple things correctly and then wronged me multiple times after damaging my vehicle. The fact that they were trying to save a few hundred bucks on a customer who they wronged (I also spend 10k+ a year at Costco) and never apologized once for any misunderstanding at all, tells you all you need to know. Go literally anywhere else for your tire needs. read more

No poly-bags/paper bags on checkouts. Their savings and customer is saving planet:). Big bakery with tons of breads and cakes options. Great quality and enormous quantity. Unbeatable return policy. Print photos in an hour. Lots of parking space still everyone wants to park near the main entrance. Great wine and beer selection.Huge bottle sizes and low price! Keeps local stuff too. There's a couple women that work at the food court who are very abrasive and come off quite rude. One woman is unnecessarily loud, I understand needing to call orders loudly but I don't need to be yelled at while I'm making an order 2 ft. away from her face. She called out order numbers for everyone else but for me she said "Lady with the extra soda" at a decibel that could be heard from a 2 mile radius, so that was really weird and embarrassing considering multiple people laughed. Also the chicken bakes are worse than any other location I've had; they're super dry with basically no sauce, the ends are too doughy and aren't filled. I basically avoid the food court now which is sad because I used to love it but these women have been there each time I visit and each experience has been bad. read more

This location is much nicer then the Beaverton or Tigard location. It is always clean and the staff are always friendly. Every year we come to this store in order to get gift cards for the prizes at a company party. They have a small but good selection and they offer great discounts. You have can find some wonderful deals there but be careful they are not always the best! Food court is great as well. They now take debit cards which is convenient. read more

I've been an executive member for quite a few years. Because of Costco's rebate plan, my annual renewal is usually free... sometimes with cash back. The place can be crowded and checkout lines can be long. But the checkers are usually good at moving people through quickly. I like costco as a whole and theyre always very nice and friendly but I just spent an hour at member services getting added onto a family members account because of one of the member service employees. He asked for my email and number after I had just received my membership and he spent 40 minutes inputting the information on the conputer only to then ask me "so do you have a costco account under this email or not?". I was confused because why would I even have one if I was not a member? and why wouldn't he ask that 40 minutes prior to struggling on the computer for nearly an hour? overall just an annoying experience, learn to ask customers basic questions before wasting your own time and mine as well. But this costco is great overall, excellent custom service when doing returns, I was just surprised at the level of incompetence this one time after going for over a decade to the same costco. read more

Costco is one of our favorite shopping place. It has almost everything we need for a house hold . We love the small samples . We mostly go for oil / rice/ spinach/ banana/ salad/ paper towel / bath towel / multi vitamins / books/ chocolates. We are family of just2 adult n a small kid so buying other things in bulk is not worth for us .seasonal stocks are cheap n good n runs out easily . They bring the items 1 season ahead so stock up even if u r tentative using it because there return police is damn straight and easy. We also love the flower bunches n get deal on most items but with very large quantity . Their travel package is also so good n reasonable.we did our Hawaii trip with Costco travel and felt it's good . It is the best cheese pizza you can get for $1.99 and I think it is some of the best cheese pizza you can get period!!! Throw in the fact that shopping at Costco is awesome as well! I can walk in there, get some samples, spend $50, and walk out with so many fresh fruits and veggies!!! The customer service is always GREAT and on the way out, I get amazing pizza!!! Today (4/3/21), I went into Costco to get a flat tire repaired. AAA had already given me roadside assistance and helped me get a temp. replacement tire on the car. I made an appt 2 days ago for 11:45. I arrived on time. At 11:50, someone in an orange vest came out and told me to ask for assistance at the member services desk. The member services desk told me to go back to the tire center desk and wait there. At 11:55, another member of the services team was helping a friend with a tire quote and said he would be right with me. At 12, 15 minutes past my appt time, he asked how he could help. I told them my name and appointment time, at which point he asked for my Costco card. I told him that my membership had lapsed, but the tires had been bought from Costco. I assumed that "lifetime maintenance service" meant "lifetime maintenance service", but I was wrong. He went to talk to his manager to see what could be done. He told me that he would be able to repair the tire as a "one-off", but I would need to be a member for any further "lifetime maintenance service." I told him that, should the tire be beyond repair, I had a spare tire, also from Costco. He went to go inspect the tire. He came back, told me the tire was beyond repair. He also told me that the "one-off" repair service he had mentioned above would not cover a tire replacement, and I would need to be a Costco member (at least $60) to get the tire replaced, plus an additional $15 for the tire replacement service. He said he would roll in the cost of the tire replacement for free if I bought a membership today. By that point, I was so beyond frustrated at the tardiness of the appointment, the cost to replace the tire, and the fact that the fine print was shared only when I needed assistance. I promptly exited the store. All this to say. if you are going to buy your tires at Costco, make sure you factor in the cost of staying a member for your lifetime. This is much newer and nicer then the ones in Tigard and Beaverton. It's also always clean, and they sell gas. I think everyone had their favorite snack items at Costco. You know the thing(s). That somehow always wind up I'm your basket? For me they change over time. Currently they are 1. The steak strip jerky 2. Rice Crispy Treats. I also stock up on the gift cards. Here the gift cards are limited but discounted. So they are good for gifts, or for me. Most everything at Costco has good prices. The drawback is the quantities are huge. read more

The other day, I went to Costco, as I've been doing for some three decades now. This one is the closest to my home. It was supposed to be a mundane trip; we needed some paper towels and my S.O. was going to inquire about a new cell phone. She learned that she could get a new phone for free, based on the upgrade rights to her AT&T contract - a better deal than AT&T itself - and if that were the end of the transaction, I would be saying "amazeballs!" and "awesomesauce!" about Costco. The helpful gent behind the cell-phone kiosk had given her a receipt to ring up at the register, after which point she was to come back to the kiosk, get her new phone and have it programmed, at which point she could leave the building. When it came time to check out, we were greeted by a fellow named Grant (at least, that's the name that was on the white-oval on his shirt) - he was clearly an auto-shop employee. I tried to explain to him that we needed to do two transactions, as she needed to go back to have her phone programmed, and I needed to leave the store and fetch the car. He cut me off and told me that none of that was necessary. She went back to get her phone - a process which would take a good fifteen or twenty minutes. I went to the exit, where (if you've been to a Costco, you know the drill) I handed the combined receipt to the gal checking the carts - she promptly asked me where the phone was; I explained the situation, and she said, "I'm sorry, but while you can leave, she'll need that receipt to exit the building." I went back to see Grant, and said, "Hey! Next time someone points out -- " He then cut me off and said, "Don't yell at me, pal. Don't yell at me. I'm with more important customers now." "Good for you," was my response. After my customer-service experience at the hands of Grant, I walked toward the entrance with my cart. I stopped near the counter at the tire-shop, where one very harried manager was attempting to service several customers. One asked, "Are you the only guy here?" He replied, "Yeah - when the place gets busy, they take my crew and put 'em on the registers - and none of 'em like it." ('Sort of explains things', I thought.) Eventually, my S.O. found her way toward the exit, and asked me why I hadn't brought the car 'round. I explained the situation, which led to a mutually-shared moment of incredulity. The good news? She had her phone. The bad news? Costco's new program of putting tire-and-battery-changers in customer-service/checkout positions straight up sucks raw banana peels, for reasons which really shouldn't have to be explained to anyone. For his part, Grant shouldn't be asked to do any customer-facing job. He hasn't the temperament, manners or civility for it. He might be a good tire-changer. If so, he should remain in that position, where hopefully he won't be required to subject the buying public to his customer-service 'skills'. (I spend a lot of money at Costco every year. Both of us do. While Costco won't lose any money from us thanks to Grant, newer customers might just exercise their several options [Target, Bi-Mart; Winco; Wal-Mart] after such an experience. I can hope that Grant's bosses-bosses-boss reads this at some point. Regardless of how - this problem needs to be fixed, the day-before-yesterday.) read more

Don't sign up for the Citi Bank Visa card with Costco. They sell it as a travel card, except every time I go outside my City , my charges get denied. I have a high limit, excellent credit. This is the only card of mine that does this. I go 100 miles away, same state, but doesn't work. They want you to call every time you leave your town. Or call every time it gets denied. No reason to have a $10,000 limit if you can't charge $50. read more

Costco was founded in my home state & my dad and I love to chat about our latest finds at Costcos in our respective states (WA / OR). And did you know that the price for the hot dog/soda combo in the food court is the same price it was in the early 80's? Only $1.50!!! Anywho, I recently received our regular coupon mailer, and saw a huge deal on cell phones. I was due for an upgrade through my carrier, so I decided to pay Costco a visit. The new Samsung Galaxy III ended up being $210.00 cheaper through Costco than what my own carrier was offering! I was able to keep all my same options, and was even offered a better insurance plan than the one I currently had. And, I got a free accessory pack with car charger, screen protectors, leather carrying pouch, and ear buds. Our dogs favorite toys have come from Costco & some of our favorite food items are things we've discovered at Costco. It can be a bummer when they discontinue an item you really like, but you can always go online and look for it. Oh, and if you wear glasses - you can buy cleaning solution bottles here, and bring them back in for unlimited refills! This location has a nice big parking lot, which takes a big chunk of chaos out of a weekend trip. The lines get just as long as anywhere else, but the checkers are really quick - makes it nice when you're hankering for a that yummy slice of pizza or a hot dog!! read more

Can't beat the deals but the customer service sucks. My sister in law used to work there and she has an attitude just like all the rest of her Costco flock. Just today I was looking for some coconut coffee and I asked someone. They said they don't carry it so I asked a friend to get me some from the Tigard Costco. When I was getting a polish dog I asked for some sauerkraut the guy said they are out. I found it peculiar since I saw someone a moment ago throwing a bin of the stuff under the counter. So yeah as with most chains they offer all kinds of features but very litter in the way of customer service. I can't believe these people make $14.00 an hour. read more

And, oh, those samples!! :) Well.., the only, really only negative thing happened recently. I just stumbled upon this person who was helping the checkout guy. Probably the biggest Costco I've gone to! They have anything and everything! (except hard liquor like the other states do) I mean, who doesn't love the free samples?!?! What's different from this Costco than the other's is that when their staff work the sample sections, they make jingles about their samples! It's pretty funny and cute. But I think I'll purchase the product if I wish to! The staff are friendly and nice. The photo center is excellent and they print out your passport pictures within 15 minutes (or less!). The eye center is just as great as well and the employees make sure your glasses are the perfect fit. This Costco has a self-check out area. Their fast food stand is ALWAYS busy and there's usually quite a line! Their flower shop has excellent bouquets just to brighten up your day (even though the sun doesn't shine!). They also have delightfully inexpensive dog toys that hold up against my dog's best destructive intentions. Also their food is highly rated and - again - is inexpensive and lasts for quite sometime. This store has everything you would expect at a costco, and normally that alone would go 4 stars. But this store has issues with rude & lazy employees... For instance: I ordered a pair of glasses from this store and never received any communication when they were ready (they were supposed to text), when I called almost 3 weeks later and told them I wanted a refund, they informed me the glasses were in for a week and a half already, and no one bothered to even try my phone number. The next time we went shopping here we were practically screamed at, after telling a dishwasher detergent pusher "We're not interested, thanks". This lady's volume increased 3x to a shout about how great it was, as we tried to walk away. When I turned back to her I said "We don't come to Costco for that" she responded with a jaw dropping "WOW..." (again shouting) threw her arms in the air, and looked at me like I was the one being rude. She is very rude and terrible person, The last time I came to this location for a passport photo of my 3y old baby girl child she started yelling at my 3y baby girl because she move her eyes while taking picture, Also, she act like I'm bothering her.at the end she print the wrong set of pictures I had to go to different store to take the photo. read more

Unusual tip #1: Costco does not ordinarily accept returns on perishable items. However, if you walk up real sheepish-like, and claim that you made some "unfortunate grocery decisions", they will accept your return of seafood dip (yechh) and seaweed salad (BARF) with a reminder that "next time..." Unusual tip #2: The membrane typically found on the bone side of baby back ribs has been removed by Costco's butchers. This is convenient when you're beginning the long (correct) process of smoking a nice, thick rack of baby backs. That's all I got. read more

The only negative I can think about Costco is the fact I spend way too much money there. This costco is new and huge. It is also much closer to me so I am more inclined to purchase my milk there. There prices are fairly competitive with Winco (our cheap grocery store) as long as you are willing to buy in bulk. I love how they offer samples since I am more likely to buy something I have tried and like. One of their recent additions is a Creme Puff Cake that is so delicious. Only problem is that they cost $20. I almost think it is worth it though. One new feature they have really speeds up checkout. When lines are long they have a portable scanner so that when you reach checkout, all you have to do is hand them your costco card and pay. I guess there is not much more to say. I don't personally know anyone that hates Costco (unlike Walmart) so I'm sure I don't need to convince anyone how great it is. read more
