Obviously looking and searching right in front of two sales associates who were yapping amongst themselves and didn't even give me a look. Then I'm approached from the side by an associate named Grant who could tell I was searching for something and offered his assistance. He showed me to the bleak sales rack and I tried on a couple of things. He was the epitome of a full service sales associate getting the right size etc. I ended up just looking with him in the full price section and after a short discussion he understood exactly what I was looking for. He brought me shoes to try and a new belt. Stayed with me right through the entire transaction, alterations and so forth. This time, no associate approached me--or any of the other middle‑aged women browsing nearby. Two employees stood at the register engaged in conversation, not helping anyone. I eventually interrupted to request a fitting room, but no one ever checked on me afterward. The lack of attention was surprising and disappointing, completely unlike any experience I've had there before. I left feeling invisible and disheartened, and I'm not sure I'll return. If this is the new norm, I'll need to find another way to celebrate my birthday going forward.

This is the first really bad experience I've had with a Costco food court and this is not my normal Costco. I called ahead and pre-ordered my pizza. When I paid for my pizza. I also ordered two mocha freezes and a strawberry frozen yogurt. The food court staff did not put the lid on the mocha freeze and for whatever reason thought this was a coyote ugly experience and slid the mocha freeze across the counter with such Force. It went right off the counter and all over myself and my son. Wall covered in sticky sugar, the food court staff just stood there watching us. A random 7-year-old had to go and get paper towels so I could try to not track mocha freeze all over. The food court staff immediately asked if I would want them to remake the one they threw at me. I was beyond confused and told them I have to go to the bathroom to wash out my shoes and pants now. As I was able to catch one of the mocha freezes. The food card staff told me they would put it in the refrigerator To which I'm thinking you will remake my order. When I come back. After trying to remove all of the mocha freeze in the bathroom, we came back and had to wait in line as they were very confused that we still wanted our order. They finally gave us our pizza which they made wrong and told us we would have to go to the end of the queue if we wanted to get the pizza we ordered. A. At which point a manager was called over to try to assist in the situation. She told me she would watch the video feed later and wanted to know what she could do to help. I said I would like my food but since it's not ready I would like a refund. She then said she would give us a gift card but that would take too much time and the next time we come to just ask for her? Everything about the situation was weird. She then tried to get a refund on my $17 order but was unable to. Eventually she handed me $10 cash to try to fix this mistake. I was still covered in mocha freeze. The order was wrong. And I will not be getting food from this Costco food court again.

Now retired, and the PDX outpost is gone, this location gives me my fix. Mapel's has lots of basics and layering pieces, which is perfect for me and our PNW weather. I tend to wear solid colors, so their styles work for me. They also have some prints, but I prefer solids. During my last visit, they had some very pretty sweaters, but this year's style is boxy, which doesn't work for my shape. They have a variety of jeans, a nice selection of winter coats and vests, plus there were holiday dresses and pieces on sale. Make sure to check out the clearance in the far back corner. Sprinkled amongst the clothing is some fashion jewelry and gift items. Always worth a stop, as you never know what you will find.
