Went to Nordstrom on Dec. 27 looking for a new pair of men's dress slacks. They were having their half yearly sale. The store looked beautifully decorated for the holidays. My opinion of the sales merchandise offering was underwhelming with sale things hard to even find and a selection looking like scraps. My star rating on that is a 2. So I'm in the men's dept. Obviously looking and searching right in front of two sales associates who were yapping amongst themselves and didn't even give me a look. Then I'm approached from the side by an associate named Grant who could tell I was searching for something and offered his assistance. He showed me to the bleak sales rack and I tried on a couple of things. He was the epitome of a full service sales associate getting the right size etc. I ended up just looking with him in the full price section and after a short discussion he understood exactly what I was looking for. He brought me shoes to try and a new belt. Stayed with me right through the entire transaction, alterations and so forth. Grant was what Nordstrom has been known for in terms of service and he gets 5 stars! read more

I've been shopping at the Nordstrom in Washington Square for more than 30 years, almost always in the Point of View section. I drive in from Camas, WA, and my experiences have consistently reflected the level of service and care associated with the Nordstrom name. Unfortunately, today was very different. Every April, I treat myself to a birthday shopping trip and genuinely look forward to it. In the past, I've always been greeted promptly, assisted with sizes, and made to feel welcome. This time, no associate approached me--or any of the other middle‑aged women browsing nearby. Two employees stood at the register engaged in conversation, not helping anyone. I eventually interrupted to request a fitting room, but no one ever checked on me afterward. The lack of attention was surprising and disappointing, completely unlike any experience I've had there before. I left feeling invisible and disheartened, and I'm not sure I'll return. If this is the new norm, I'll need to find another way to celebrate my birthday going forward. read more

How far Nordies has fallen when it comes to customer service. We visited the women's shoe department at Nordstrom recently and were shocked by the lack of service. We waited quite a while and couldn't find a single sales associate available to help us. When someone finally assisted us which I had to track down, she promptly told me the shoes I wanted were sold out in my size and suggested that I go directly to the manufacturer's website to purchase them. Once we got home, I checked Nordstrom's website myself and found the exact shoes in my size available online! What a lazy sales associate! They could have easily looked this up and completed the sale right then and there, but instead seemed uninterested in helping or making a sale and profit for the company. I remember the old days at Nordstrom, when associates truly cared about providing exceptional customer service. Unfortunately, that level of service appears to be a thing of the past. read more

The men's department has excellent customer service, as does fragrances, but shoes, accessories, and the women's departments are very hit or miss. We shop there often and the customer service has unfortunately really gone downhill and can be unfriendly. read more

I drove up from Eugene (2 hours south of Tigard) to buy some perfume not avaiilable in my area. I was greeted and helped by two women who deserve all my praise: Stephanie and Anna. Both were friendly, knowledgeable, kind, patient, and strove to find me something I would absolutely love. Buying perfume is extremely personal and somewhat emotional and I cannot buy perfume from someone I don't think cares about me or what they are doing, because then the scent is associated with this person. Highly impressed with both Matt and Amira in cosmetics. They went above and assist my husband and myself with new cologne and perfumes. Ended up with the new Valentino and Burberry for Her. They were so knowledgeable and friendly. I was not a fan of the woman sales associate at the Dior counter. Nordstrom is a brand with an exceptional reputation for quality and service and this store lives up to the brand expectations. We have predominately shopped in the men's shirt and suit section or woman's clothing section of this store. The associates here are friendly and have been helpful in making recommendations on styles. The store is always clean and welcoming. I enjoy visiting during the holiday season when they have the decorations and holiday music throughout the store. We've never had a problem with an exchange or return; again aligning to the service brand of this higher end retail chain. Additionally, during the holiday season they also provide complimentary boxes you can pick up for your wrapping needs. For an additional fee, you can also select to leave your items and have them gift wrapped while you shop or wait. I absolutely will continue to shop at this Nordstrom store location! read more

Now that they have closed the Clackamas town Center and Lloyd Center locations... This location is getting more business. I went to do a return. It was really nice that just inside the doors they had a very large area for returns and online order pick up. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I was done in a couple minutes. I did however notice that the area behind the return counter was all blocked off and filled with metal shelves for pick up orders which before Christmas was part of the women's retail area. Online ordering is safer and very popular.... Makes me wonder how many more store fronts are going to be closed. I know it's just after Christmas... But there was not a lot a stock either. This is pretty tough for the people who enjoy meandering around physically looking at product versus selecting it online and having it shipped or picking it up in the store. read more

I made the choice to switch my Maxi Cosi to a Nuna on my own. She went far and beyond for me and my child. W came from seattle visiting my Inlaws. I was not even looking. I had a few concern coming down here with my current car seat. I am so happy I met her. She is so knowledgeable about all the baby car seat, stroller etc... She doesn't bullshit to make a sale. I drive past the downtown location to this one specifically because the service and selection, I feel, are the best. Plus, free parking! Last year I needed to get a suit jacket tailored and didn't have time to look around, so I ordered several online for store pickup, returned the ones I didn't like and dropped the one I kept with the tailor. The jacket was even ready earlier than they estimated! Last summer I'd gone in to find a gift for my mom's birthday. I'm really surprised by the negative reviews. I've been shopping at this location since moving here about 10 years ago and have never once had a bad experience. I was there a few weekends ago and was more than pleased with the selection, cleanliness, and especially the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. I had to do an exchange, I tried on a few things, and I asked for different sizes from the back and never once felt like I was putting anyone out. I've used the curbside pickup as well, for a purchase and even did a return curbside, and it's always been quick and easy. The reason I'm knocking off a star is my experience at the Bobbi Brown counter. I was looking for a product which they didn't have when she rolled her eyes, says she gets asked that a dozen times a day, and told me to go online. I also mentioned I was having trouble getting color-matched online and her only response was an insincere "well... sorry...". So I said "Okay, I guess I'll go buy something from somewhere else..." and she turned around and continued putting product on the shelf. She didn't even try to help me get color matched or offer any products that she had there in her section. She didn't seem interested in making a sale or really even being there. read more

Service is always exceptional throughout the entire store. Inventory is far better than other locations especially women's clothing, shoes, jewelry and accessories. Often I buy items online and pick up at the store to avoid shipping, and so I can try on and if it doesn't work, handle the return on the spot. Today I picked up a pair of Ugg boots with fur lining to keep my feet warm! The pick up location is conveniently located a few steps inside from the side entry on the second floor. I picked up the boots (great sale price online for Cyber Monday) but felt they were a bit narrow. Went right down the escalator and exchanged for a half size up and was on my way. Whenever I need new lipstick or eyeshadow, I let their makeup artists give me an entire makeover. It's fun to have someone try out products that I normally wouldn't select yet often discover they work! They never pressure me to buy, but usually there is some new item I have to get. With perfume, I need to wear a scent for a day before I can commit. Ask for a sample and they will make a tiny spray bottle for you. Often I'm coming to Washington Square just to go to Nordstrom's and I like the convenience of having several entry's with close and ample parking. read more

Good day, Yelpies !!! I wanted to elaborate a bit on my experience at this location. My wife and I took a dress back for return that didn't quite fit her expectations when she ordered it from Nordstrom's online store. The return process went flawlessly and the customer service rep handled everything professionally. We decided to go upstairs to the women's department and find something else that might fit my wife's expectations, but unfortunately decided to go to a different store due to the very odd and disturbing way we were treated by the staff in the women's department as my wife was looking around for a dress for a family event coming up in September the person covering that department seemed to look past my wife as if she was invisible so my wife found somebody else to help her. I had no idea that this had happened and was also in the same department looking around for other dress's my wife. I was immediately approached by the same person covering that department, but she walked past me, and started fidgeting with all the clothes on the rack that I was looking through. I found this odd, but assumed that maybe she was helping somebody else. I went over to another rack of clothes located closer to the register when another person from a different department came over towards me and did the same thing. Please note neither person asked if I needed help looking for anything.... then it dawned on me that maybe these people assumed that I might be some type of a shoplifter.... I remember back when I was in retail that this was a way to get peoples attention and let them know that there's somebody watching the Department. But I also remember something that was really important and that was to gain eye contact with your potential customer and ask if they need help???? that's it just ask if they need help. You would be surprised they might even walk out of the store with a ton of merchandise, keeping you employed Never again Nordstrom's... no disrespect you did create an amazing marketing plan and that has lead you to amazing heights but your employees are knocking you down a bit day by day with that type of behavior. read more

The selection of sizes that I used to ALWAYS find in Nordstrom has gone down to a dismal selection. Yes, I shop plus sizes and they've now made that selection of very small area with hardly any selection. In addition, because the selection of plus sizes is so small and situated within another department, the customer service is dismal at best. It's really sad what has happened to one of my favorite clothing stores in the last fifteen years. read more

It breaks my heart to give Nordstrom a 1 star rating but several interactions with employees and policy changes has really tainted my view of this once powerful and amazing store brand. Nordstrom no longer offers curbside returns, only pick up. I found out when I was already running late and was hoping Nordstrom curbside service would save the day. They didn't and if anything made me even more late because once inside the store, their system wasn't working. Now the employee review, there's a younger lady (late 20s - early 30s) that works in the children shoe and apparel department is awful to deal with. I purchased clothes for my daughter, only 3 days later the clothing went on sale. I asked for a price adjustment and of course she gave me HELL for it!! I mean, what's the point of having a policy on price adjustment if Nordstrom employees won't honor it? She told me that "prices will always drop" so I can't adjust the price. That made me really angry and question why Nordstrom would hire such employees. But I get a sense that Nordstrom is training their employees to be difficult now because too many people have taken advantage of their once easy return policy. Bottom line, this employee basically made me feel awful for even requesting a price adjustment, scolded me for it, belittled me because I'm not the typical race for their customer. read more

Spoke to someone in Jewelry on the phone about looking at a watch I purchased (a power ranger watch), gal said she could take a look at it. Got there, some other employee approached me and asked what I needed. I asked for the person I spoke to, employee replied with "anyone can help you". Okay, this is gonna be good it seems. I explained what I wanting to get done, employee looked at me like I was an idiot. Explained in a condescending tone that they can't even look at the watch. I was confused and said "_____ said she would take a look, she knows it's not Nordstrom?". "No, go to the watch repair shop next to the food court. I was totally fine with the policy, but the communication left a bad taste in my mouth. Looking at other reviews, I'm wondering if this is the same individual in Jewelry that they spoke of. My family has been shopping at Nordstrom since I can remember. I usually buy a new watch every Christmas for myself and my brother, but I think I'm done. Telling the fam to cut ties too. There has been some really great deals lately and its been great having stores offer curbside pick up. Currently, Nordstrom is doing a Promo where you buy literally buy ANYTHING (we found an item for $5 - check under Julep brand) and either pickup inside or curbside and you'll receive a $15 GC by Dec. 21st which you can spend on ANYTHING. (One per customer) This expires on Nov. 30th You can either check in on their app or call once you park in a curbside pick up area. Simply easy The employees here have been great, masks on, places items in the trunk. Ive gone to this Nordstroms for years and never have issues. The employees at this location are absolute perfection. Each time I come in, they get a fitting room ready for me and provide top notch customer service. Some have remembered my name (maybe I come here a liiiiiiiiiittle too much, lol.) It feels great to be greeted by name with a smile! We chat, they give great advice on styling and fit, and I always have a lovely time. I can't think of any other retail experience as pleasant as the ones I have here every time. The store is always immaculate and everything is perfectly in place. I primarily shop upstairs for clothing items. I have noticed the interactions I've had downstairs at the makeup and perfume counters haven't been quite as enjoyable. I'm treated much better downstairs when I come in wearing designer clothing and bags, as opposed to plain jeans and a tshirt. This makes me feel like those employees are less genuine, but the ladies upstairs treat me like a princess no matter what I look like when I come in. read more

Absolutely agree with other reviewers' low ratings of the curbside pickup service at this location. Today marks the 4th time that I have had a curbside pickup or return where my app notification, call, and text have all been ignored and I have waited over 45 minutes for my order that was supposedly "ready for pickup". Curbside pickup is meant to be a quick and convenient option for customers... this Nordstrom location lacks the organization, communication, and follow-through to make it so. UPDATE- After nearly an hour wait... I just checked my order and the wrong items were brought out. So frustrated, headed back to the store now to correct. read more

I have some favorite sales people and some I would go out of my way to avoid. Recently the department I shop in moved upstairs so now the upstairs is all women's and kids. I don't mind it since I like to park in the parking garage to avoid the rain. I do wonder why TBD moved upstairs and why downstairs is all athletic wear. The layout has been the same for a while, and I hope they add a permanent return bar. It's frustrating having to wait to make a purchase when loads of people come in with boxes and boxes of online returns. How are sales people suppose to service us when they're just doing returns? Recently I went in with my daughter, and Q? started us a room. She disappeared, and when I came out of the fitting room after a manager opened it for me I saw her on her phone at the registers. She was eager to greet me when I was making a purchase but openly avoided helping me when I needed it. I wanted a attentive salesperson and not a cashier. Lesson learned. read more

I have been a loyal Nordstrom customer for years, but I had a horrible experience today. I went to purchase something and pulled out a Nordstrom Note to pay. The cashier informed me that there was no record of my note. I gave her a different note. Same problem. We tried a third note with no luck. I had a huge stack of notes, several hundred dollars worth, but not a single one would scan. The cashier then walked me over to customer service for help. A phone call had to be made to additional customer service outside the store. I had to give out personal information to verify my account. I was then told my notes were not synced to my account. Why would this happen? I only have one account, so why wouldn't my notes sync to it automatically? I have NEVER had a problem using any of my notes before, so what changed? I spent over a half hour waiting and trying to rectify the situation. Eventually, I was given a gift card for the amount of the notes. I then went upstairs to spend my gift card. I was not greeted and proceeded to walk around with an arm full of clothes for several minutes. Only when I approached the fitting room was I offered help. The clerk let me in, but did not check on me at all. The customer service in this store is a far cry from what it used to be. Thank you, Nordstrom for convincing me to shop elsewhere and to cancel my credit card for one with airline miles! read more

This Nordstrom has by far the best inventory of the Portland area stores. I've quit going downtown or the other locations because its just disappointing after the Washington Sq. experience. I've been shopping with Summer in TBD, who is a wonderful personal shopper for a few years now. She is lovely, down to earth, and has a great understanding of what works well for the individual costumer's style, and budget. The sales associate was not helpful or friendly, she told me in a condescending tone that she wouldn't be able to return or exchange the item. Inquiring as to why, she told me that the item came directly from David Yurman and that I needed to process the return through them. I was unaware where the gift was purchased from. I understand that they have policy and was okay with them not exchanging it, but the way the sales associate talked/treated me was not professional. I will not be conducting any further business with Nordstrom and encourage my other family and friends from returning. read more
