I had never heard of this store before, and I don't even know if this is a chain or not, but I was in the market for some small stud earrings for my younger daughter, and my older kid, who lives in Portland, suggested we check out this store while we were in the mall here. And I was SO impressed by this store, in so many ways! It really feels like more of a chic boutique than just a store in a mall. It's so beautifully laid out, with a real Parisian vibe. Lots of lovely finishes and features, soft palette, chandeliers, good lay-out. It really has an exclusive feel about it. We were warmly greeted when we entered, and it seemed that the employees here genuinely liked working here. I saw them smiling and laughing and chatting with customers, who also were in good spirits. The merchandise here is clearly geared for younger women. It's a very "girly" store, but elevated. I saw plenty of lovely clothing, accessories and gift ideas, all in a mid-range price (relatively speaking. Nothing is really inexpensive, but neither are the prices exorbitant). Reading the other reviews, I see this shop is "faith-based", and they play Christian music. I was really surprised to see this! I am Jewish and I didn't even notice any of this. (If it were heavy-handed, I would be offended and leave, but honestly, I didn't even notice any of this!). Live and let live, I say. I had no idea there was any religious affiliation with this shop. The thing that brought me in was the beautiful vibe of the store . From the entrance to how the display is my curiosity brought me in however the selection itself is pretty good and I ended up buying stuff even when I had no intention .. well that's quality marketing right there ! Ever since I return often just to sometime browse the new collection. The staff is always welcoming and sweet . The trial room format looks a little bit like Free people but with actual doors ! Their entire amazing sale section is GONE! It had so much variety, in all sizes, I always found something. The most disappointing thing possible. As I was talking to as a sales associate, we were interrupted by people asking where it was and the same thing was told "we weren't making any money off it so they're trying something new.. and they got rid of it, we don't have it anymore." Those people were shocked and walked out. The sales associate said she didn't understand why either because people don't want to spend $80 on a dress and love that sale section. Great customer service, beautiful design, a large variety of lengths for dresses, and very nice quality of clothes! Once, I bought a hair clip from the store, and it broke during its first use. I was later able to come in and get a replacement easily with no rudeness from the worker (all the workers are so sweet and very beautiful, they also got great recommendations) Although it's a little pricy, you can catch them doing large sales (I got an end-of-summer sale and there were clothes on sale for less than 15 dollars) The store is beautiful and the clothes are too! read more

What a beautiful store, inside and out! The stone and arches of the storefront caught my attention, so different from the cookie cutter storefronts of all the other clothing stores in the mall. I had to know what was inside! The inside is just as gorgeous! Light hardwood floors, open beams with stylish hanging lights and lots of faux trailing plants everywhere. In one area near the back, there are hundreds of purple butterflies hanging amongst pendent lights. Make sure to look up so up you don't miss anything! The store is large but it's organized in sections with collections of items thoughtfully arranged, creating little vignettes that grab your attention. Jewelry, handbags, scarves, hair accessories, books, lotions and creams, and lots and lots of clothing. The dressing room area is absolutely stunning! Huge crystal chandeliers hang from a Renaissance style inlaid carved ceiling. Large round velvet settees and pillows add to the romantic ambiance. The dressing rooms are spacious, with a carved mirror hanging on a brick wall and mini chandeliers. Can I move in? Don't forget to check out the sale room in the back loaded with all sorts of items ranging from clothing, scarves, ornaments, shoes, throws and more. I found the most comfortable gray cotton lounge pants that get softer with every wash. For $19, I wish I had bought two! There was a basket of winter infinity scarves for $3.50 each. Crazy, right? I bought two for me and several for my friends. In all, I really like this store and will definitely stop in any time I'm at Washington Square. It's just a pleasure to explore and shop here. The one disappointment, and the reason for 4 stars, is the sparse availability of clothing in a size large, and no x-large anywhere. Environment: Super nice! Like, Wow! They put a lot of time in decorating it. Super bright with lots of wonderful decorations. Make sure to look up and around! Staff: Super friendly and welcomed us with warm smiles and told us what was on sale with a little sheet. I wanted to support and buy because they're-faith based. I wanted to buy all their little decorations with Bible verses and their clothing were very nice and stylish. I am not giving it 5 stars because it's too expensive. I would love to buy the clothing but...for a simple t-shirt, it already costs a lot. I know the money will go to a good cause such as for kids, families, etc. but ...I just can't...I guess I'll have to save up ^^ I also enjoyed the background music as I was walking around I was singing and praising :) I hope this store will stay strong! read more

Altar'd State is a charming women's clothing store that has a great selection! We enjoyed walking through the store and looking at dresses, skirts, blouses, boots, etc. They also have an amazing jewelry selection for a good price. I thought they did a good job of greeting us and checking in once, but not hovering and making us feel overwhelmed. I would definitely go to this store to find a pretty dress, and it's a bonus that they play Christian music in the background. It was a peaceful store experience. I enjoyed their bridal selection as well! If you're a bride looking for a dress for an event, this is the place to go! I'll definitely be back. read more

This location is gorgeous. You will want to look at everything, presentation is beautiful. I was excited over their large dress selection. They have so many dresses!! Staff was friendly, one took the large pile accumulating in my arms as my daughter picked out everything she wanted to try on. They held our selection on a rack in the dressing room area while we continued to look around. They have trending styles and a great selection in many sizes. We loved their jewelry, they had lots! The prices are more expensive than other comparable stores. Most of their tops were $45-65 that we had looked at. Dresses are mostly $70-100+. We didn't look at bottoms. I felt like their jewelry and accessories were priced well. The one downside- their dressing rooms. There are 5-7 rooms, I can't remember for sure now. The wait was long, we waited at least 30 minutes for a fitting room. The fitting room line was in the way of others trying to shop around you. The seating within the waiting area of the dressing rooms was uncomfortable and frumpy even though it looked nice from across the room. Staff checked on us multiple times for sizes while in there which was nice. Overall we loved their store and We will definitely go back read more

I went here for the first time today and wow!! I love the atmosphere and it smells heavenly as soon as you walk in. Plus, I actually appreciate that it's a faith based boutique! There's not very many around here... The only negative is that I was shopping with a friend, and the associate only assisted my friend with starting a room for her clothes and not mine. But, eventually a separate associate did help me.. kind of threw me off, but after that everyone else was friendly and helpful. I won't judge them based solely off that. Overall, beautiful store and on trend clothing!! I will definitely shop here again without a doubt. Oh and their fitting room area is GORGEOUS. read more

Like I get this store is owned by a Christian corporation, but you are trying to sell generic, trendy clothes to everyone in a mainstream mall in a town that celebrates diversity, try not alienating customers with your loud Jesus rock telling me I need to be saved - I'm just trying to buy a sun dress. read more

Was meandering the mall with the lady and stumbled upon this store. The entrance is very inviting yet secretive, if that makes any sense. It is a nice store though. First things first. Absolutely terrible service. Minus the cashier and the gal working near the entrance on Sunday 11/1 around 430-5pm. We were in the store for about 20 minutes and not one person asked if we needed help. Not a single greet either. There was another gal, wearing a white sweater and light jeans walking the store, maybe she was the lead or a manager of some sort, but she walked right past me three...THREE times and did not say a word. First time, she walked by, she was putting items away. Second time, she greeted and checked up on a pair of customers that were in the same area the lady and I were at. The third time was when she was walking back, I was with the lady whom I whispered "let's see if she will check on us." Nope. She just went back to doing her thing and helping others. I absolutely hate to pull the race card, but that's what it felt like. She gave eye contact and all... So when my lady was ready to check out, the cashier asked if anyone helped her, she happily and of course, sarcastically said, "Nope!" Really disappointed. Won't step foot in this store again. I will stay 10ft away from the entrance if I happen to stumble back that way. SMH. read more

Went in to have an error fixed on a previous purchase, employee explained how she would resolve it multiple times which was reasonable to me. Employee confirmed with her manager for a second time on a walkie in front of me and the manager changed her mind. Very poor customer service in this regard, bad spot to leave your customer in who will no longer be a customer because of this experience. I looked and looked and I could not find a size LARGE in anything, yet alone an XL. I was very disappointed. Yes, they said I could order my larger size online and have it shipped to the store... No issues with this exact location, but issues with the company. Don't subscribe to their email list. I did after visiting the Washington square store and got many many unsolicited emails from lots of random things the very next day. As if they had sold my email to others. The first one was for Judicial Watch email list, a basically pro trump organization. Ewwww! I DO NOT want to be a part of that list. I am absolutely livid. I also got random emails telling me to take surveys and win money and that I had opted in to all kinds of online scams. NOT OK. absolutely gross to sell emails.
