This TJ Maxx stands out from other Portland area locations because of its size and how clean and organized they somehow manage to keep the merchandise. Could be because they don't have the volume of customers the other locations get, but whatever the reason, it makes me happy! It has the standard footprint but more space in each department. As always, the jewelry counter is a must visit. Lots of sterling silver jewelry that is uniquely designed and affordable. Long dangly earrings always find their way home with me! Next for me is the women's clothing to see if there is a sweater, shirt, workout gear, jacket, dress or jumpsuit I have to have. Usually there are several! The houseware department is well stocked and a perfect place to shop for hostess gifts and to refresh housewares and serving dishes for yourself. On this visit, I scored an individual bowl with a handle and lid, perfect to heat up soup or leftovers to enjoy while sitting on the couch. And a few white rectangular serving pieces since I'll be entertaining a lot over the holidays. The service folks are helpful, always running to get me the cart that I never grab on the way in but clearly need since my arms are doing a juggling act with my finds! The checkout line moves fast, cashiers are friendly. Lots of parking right out front making it convenient. However, if you don't know the store is here, you wouldn't see it from the street. I'm a real fan of TJMaxx. I shop their Beaverton and Portland stores on a regular basis because I frequent those areas. But this store, which is located in Tualatin, outshines the other two stores. My first impression of this store upon entering was that it was very neat. Remember this is a discount store so saying that it's neat is quite a compliment. The store is a good size and has bright lighting. The racks, shelves and tables were full of merchandise. The store was very well organized and clean. It was really a pleasure browsing here. One of my favorite areas of any TJMaxx is their jewelry counter. This store has an outstanding assortment of earrings, necklaces, rings, bracelets and watches. The selection was so good I left the counter with five new pair of earrings. The saleslady at the counter was very pleasant and helpful. The make-up area in this store was so neat it looked like it had been straightened just before my arrival. In fact the entire store looked like a team of experts had gone through the entire store straightening it. This TJMaxx is definitely worth visiting. Bus 76 stops right here and there is a WES Commuter Train platform here as well. There is a large parking lot with plenty of spaces. However you get here you won't leave empty handed. read more

This used to be my favorite store. I went in today and purchased over $200 worth of items. There were three identical sweaters on the clearance rack of different colors. Two of them were one price in the other one was another price. The coordinator told me that they wouldn't match the price on the 3rd sweater which was identical and after calling the manager and turning her back on me they wouldn't give me $4 off The identical sweater claiming it was a different style or something which it wasn't. I won't be shopping here anymore they've literally just lost thousands of dollars in sales. I've been coming to this location for years and they always match prices when something's ended up on the clearance rack and it wasn't marked properly. My advice: don't shop here anymore. read more

This store has been going down for several months now. I come every week sometimes multiple times. I look for scarves, bags, jewelry, and housewares most of the time. I had my eye on a necklace that I was wanting to buy. After waiting a couple weeks I came in to buy it. They actually raised the price! On prices, things are not done equitably. New management is raising prices. This is TJ Maxx not Nordstrom. As for lack of consistency, I looked at three bags by the same designer and similar size to find a $50 price difference. Or they try to pass mid level designer items at the same price as their higher end brands. Also stock isn't being put out at adequate intervals. Management needs to rethink their approach. Good variety of home goods, luggage, clothes and toys. It's like a garage sale but everything is new! You never know what you'll find from visit to visit which is why it appeals to people I'm sure. I liked that I lost my receipt and they took back my unopened luggage luck for store credit! read more

Okay, so it's not Nordstrom's BUT if you are patient AND you are not specifically looking for anything you might find something! I'm a mom of three boys so when they need clothes, they can find some cool tshirts and those shorts that go to their ankles. Miscellaneous household items are great here like towels, decor, Oh! I need a cool platter for my party next week so I don't just serve it on paper plates...this is where I go! So, basically, just think of it as a place where Target, First Monday, and Macy's put their discontinued housewares stuff. Now clothes, I have to say i bought two blouses here last week. One was a BCBG blouse, previously $160 for $25. Another Adrienne Vittadini top previously $80 for $$24.99. Yep! Will give this one star because of the great deals I found but the customer services and attitude from the employees are so uncalled for. I had picked up an opened bottle of foundation and wanted to know what the price was and at the time, Mo gave me a fair price but as I got to the cash wrap, Jessica and Christine persistently disagreed with the price and said "the price should be double for what it was worth". The price itself was given to me from one of their employees. As a customer, that was the answer I had gotten when I asked for a price check. Then, Jessica asks several others to go check around to get another price but instead said "this is such a burden, I'll just give it to her". As she rang me up, her attitude completely dismantled as she told me my total and tossed my bag. In my defense, it was inappropriate behavior and communication between employees that disagreed and argued right in front of a paying customer who simply just wanted to pay and leave. She looked at me as if I had ripped her off because of the price check. All I asked was a price check... Thank you Mo for handling the situation between the girls with flying colors and keeping your professionalism. She gave me a fair price for something she felt would bring another customer back as well as keeping one happy. read more

I think TJ Maxx is A OK. I like to be able to get towels, a shower curtain, sheets, and a few bathroom niceties on the cheap. I have found picture frames, cooking pans, pictures, and recently bought some books here, again, on the cheap. The store is clean, the staff is very nice, and the Tualatin patrons are pleasant. I will say that I find better things by being a regular shopper. Know your prices, visit frequently, and inspect the products; you will find treasures! read more

Just stopped in here because I was in the neighborhood and needed a shopping fix... I found some AMAZING yoga pants that I definitely didn't need, but absolutely had to have. There were some really great brands on the women's clearance rack too, but nothing fit me this time around. I'm willing to share the score-tastic-ness of this location because I pretty much never shop in this 'hood, otherwise I'd be keeping my mouth shut. But the shoe selection sucked, of course. I have always been a fan of TJ Maxx stores and was excited for the remodel of the Tualatin store. What really pisses me off is when I try and buy something at this store (maybe it is at all of the stores??) & I get harassed about donating!! Here is how a typical checkout goes: Clerk: Will this be on your rewards card today? Me: No Clerk: Would you like to sign up for a card? Me: No, thank you Clerk: Would you like to donate to (insert cause here)? Me: No Clerk: How about we just round up your total to the next dollar and donate that? Me: Hell no! I am appalled that I cannot buy what I want in peace. PLEASE STOP HARASSING your customers. The nerve of this store to say that I should just round up to the next dollar is absurd. Every year I pick a charity that I research and know that all of my money is going to a good cause. I am sick and tired of being asked to donate a dollar here and there. And rounding up? You obviously know how I feel about that. Please let your customers go in peace and quit trying to gouge them every chance you get. read more

This is by far the best TJ MAXX I've been to in the Portland area. The best one compared to one in Santa Monica in California too. This store just keeps getting better -- the clothing and the way they continually keep this store really clean and really organized (unlike Ross dress for less which always looks ransacked). Their jewelry section has really grown and higher quality and their clothing is getting higher-end than a year ago. This is one of my favorite stores and I never feel guilty about shopping there because I get so much for such great deals. The shoes have gotten much better since last year as well. They've gotten rid of a lot of lamps though, but there is always Home Goods that have amazing lamps! If you aren't sure about TJ MAXX, go to this store -- there is always something you can't live without! Compared to Burlington Coat Factory located in Tigard, Oregon, this store is a 10 compared to Burlington which I'd give a 3 or 4. Happy Shopping! read more

By far the absolute most worst customer service and retail experience I have ever had. My family and I had our home broken into and are safe stolen with all of our private documents. I purchased a pair of terrible headphones for $16.99 that would not work. I brought in a temporary proof of ID in order to return these because my receipt was misplaced. And the manager was extremely rude to me his name was Wally Barnes. Absolutely no customer service. Extremely rib said nope we're not going to help you. I can't even begin to explain how to read this guy was. Not to mention he barely knew what the rules were. I am so disappointed with his with TJ Maxx. I've been a customer for over five years and I've never experienced this type of treatment.
