This will be my last review of Albertsons. I have tolerated this store since it was close to our house. Basically the entire store is morphing into Safeway and this process is both unsightly and awkwardly tedious. Safeway is the only other store that I dislike shopping at more than Albertsons. Prices are going up, Store set-up makes even less sense. I am so happy that we sold our house and will be moving out of Hillsboro and to Beaverton. So many more shopping options. read more

I'll say it: I miss the "unpopular Albertsons." During the last four years, management here took one look at the complaints about this store, ignored them completely and then decided to go in a completely different direction. This has always been a fairly quiet location that occasionally gets bumping during the fair, air show or sports events at the country fields in the fair complex, but for most of us it's just the place you hit because of its location. Since it's generally unpopular, a lot of its overstocked items end up at half of their Safeway/Albertsons inflated price and it becomes a decent deal. You don't have to put up with the crowding at the Imbrie Freddy's or the distance to the nearest WinCo. This rebrand to Safeway eliminated just about any appeal but proximity. Even in an inflationary environment, the prices are far higher than those of their competitors. The reconfiguration of the store has either minimized certain stock or eliminated it completely. I'm not just talking about specialty and organic items, which have been decimated, but simple things like beer selection or meats, fish and deli. And why? To add a China Express? Your store is sandwiched between the Hug Buffet, Dancing Dragon, Genghis Khan, China Wok and (in the same strip mall, no less) Chopstix. To add sushi? Sushi and Maki is right across the street, there are three teriyaki spots within a block that serve sushi and Hug Grill across the street? Yep, a ton of sushi. You added "amenities" that the surrounding area was already replete with and eliminated whatever minor charms still existed within this box. I'll admit that my family's trips to the "unpopular Albertsons" diminished as the pandemic waned and as this place kept moving the furniture. By the time it went full Safeway, my family and I had become regular WinCo shoppers and wondered why we hadn't before. The fact that this place was convenient and filled with unforeseen bargains initially kept us from searching elsewhere. The rebrand and redirection changed all of that. As long as Intel keeps cycling in new employees and as long as other options remain more far-flung (at least until the old Hank's site is redeveloped), this supermarket will always have a base of customers. Seeing what it's become, we just won't be among them anymore. So long, unpopular Albertsons. read more

I don't love Albertsons but this is our closest local store. I prefer Safeway over here. This one is always pretty busy and chaotic feeling. If things are in just for you and on sale, usually they are cleaned out of them. We go here due to location. Staff are usually friendly. Albertsons just is not my favorite store overall and this location is not my favorite set up, I dislike the parking lot and most people who shop here can't follow the arrows for Covid precautions. read more

Skip this Albertson's when prime rib is on sale. They have zero inventory to pick from and will try to sell you a 50lbs bag. They refuse to cut the on sale prime rib to normal family size portions. Escalated to manager and still refused. Will only cut the 50lbs slab if you buy the whole thing. Poor management. Same thing happened last year! Went to Safeway in Newberg today and purchased a 6lbs prime rib using the same Albertson's coupon. No issues. Packaged in cellophane like normal. No bags. read more

I ordered groceries for curbside pickup on Nov 10th. I was charged on Nov 10th. Albertsons failed to notify me the order was ready and the groceries were not picked up. They fraudulently charge my EBT card anyway. I called every single day to get a refund and every agent gave me a different answer. On Nov 15th they processed a refund. It took them 5 days to request the refund. As of December 16th there is still no refund. I have reported Albertsons for fraud with the Federal Trade Commission. If you google how to refund an EBT card it's very simple and van be done from any Point of Service machine. Albertson's fraudulently charge my EBT card $157.46 for groceries on Nov 10th. That's a months worth of food that Albertsons has taken off my table for 36 days and counting during Christmas time. read more

I seem to prefer the Albertson's chain of grocerers over Safeway because their selections seem better. They have more options of brands. This store location has a calm parking lot for the most part with designated one way enterance and exits. They even have a gas station which the lines aren't long at. The prices have increased however which I've noticed. And I don't like the promotions of minimum buys of 4 mix or match to get most of the deals. read more

Sale items don't exist. Everytime I go to Safeway for the Friday sales the shelves are empty and there are no rain checks. So often the sale items are not available. And now the store has "Jacked" up their prices. It is no longer a fairly priced store. You will spend 50 cents to a dollar more on every item you purchase at that store. We ordered a dinosaur cake for my sons third birthday to celebrate in his day care. We ordered in the morning and the cake was ready by evening . We were very happy that they were able to make a themed cake in short notice .This bakery has a booklet to choose the theme or if u have a picture of any cake they will make you the similar one.The women who took order rushed us to answer all the questions to fill the form (frosting/ filling/size blah blah), I was little off by her behavior.Anyways , The cake looked too good.My son was so excited and happy to see the dino cake. We ordered a marble cake ( chocolate /vanilla) with butter cream frosting and cream cheese filling . The cake was moist , filling and frosting was smooth and tasted very good. The price for 1/4 sheet cake came around 26 $. I think the price is very reasonable.I will definitely order cake from here for future parties. read more

Albertsons is completely lacking fundamental fairness and decency. They falsely charge me over 150 dollars and they refuse to refund it. It's been 16 weeks and they say the check will be in the mail someday. What kind of place is unable to make a refund in 16 weeks. They could easily do it while I'm on the phone. There is no reasonable explanation. I made complaints with the FTC fraud division and the Justice Dept and the Inspector general of the Dept of Agriculture. Albertsons ignored those complaints. I am the sole caregiver for my mother 24/7 she is 89. I am completely overwhelmed with taking care of her. She has the mental capacity of a 5 year old. Albertsons has taken food off our table for 16 weeks. I am so mad I could spit nails. They are saying that they can't refund my money unless they set me up as a vendor first. Are you kidding me??? Bottle return area is the ugly step child of this store. They happily sell you all the soda, beer, water, sports drinks that you want, but when you want to return, they make it such a pain that you want to rip your hair out. Today, it was in rare form. One machine out of two completely shut down. The other needed to have the cans emptied and it literally took someone 15 minutes to come and empty the bin. Hey, I understand it's a crappy job to run to the bottle return a million times a day (if the machines weren't so crappy, maybe you wouldn't have to fix them millions of times a day) but it is your job and Albertson's has a duty to maintain a space for customers to return their returnables. went there at 11:15am on a saturday. Tried to get soda and some chips, the complete isle was blocked with vendors restocking, couldn't even see the shelves. Tried to move one of the carts to get sodas, the vendor says hey we are working here. I went to customer service to explain what was going on. They just said sorry. Didn't offer to help get what I needed, or anything. Find another store who cares about customers, instead of vendor come first. Without customers, you don't need vendors. Horrible pharmacy experience today. I called to see if my medication was ready for picked up and the lady on the phone was extremely rude and then I went in just now to find out that they are closing for lunch... I never went to a pharmacy where they were closed for lunch before? And I looked at the website and says it's open until 8pm. I asked if they are still open and I could hear the girl who was working at the desk that wear glasses and thick eyeliner answered so I asked again and said sorry I couldn't hear. Then she had an attitude and said I already answered you that we are closed. Like you work in this profession to help people. Not be rude to them. I'm just speechless that they hired people with this kind of attitude to be working at a pharmacy. Then I called to check and she said yeah I answered you that when you came in! Very very rude. What a sad little store. That is the best description I can give them. Even with a bit of a facelift, they just seem sad. Everything from the staff, who while friendly at times, aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer. The different food sections are sad as well. The fish section is...small. The deli section is...small. The meat counter is...small. Wait, there isn't really a meat counter, just a meat section. The bakery is...small. And none can be given the "quaint" distinction with the small. Just sad. I could almost give them three stars, but the other problem is the patrons who frequent the store, which are sad as well. There are so many other options on the other end of town (Fred Meyer, Whole Foods, New Seasons), that the people who end up here are here for one of two reasons: 1) Like me, it is too far to go somewhere else to pick up something quick, like bandages, and 7-11 doesn't carry the item, so you suck it up and get in and out as fast as possible, or 2) You need to cash a WIC check. What still amazes me is that there have been self serve counters as this place for many years now, but the process of scanning an item and putting it into a bag, then paying with cash or card, is baffling to the patrons. You would think from the deer in headlights look that they are trying to refinance their mortgage or negotiating a traffic ticket with these things. It isn't that difficult, and if this is too much to learn, use one of the two employees that will do if for you in one of the other lines. Then again, that could take hours as well, as they are busy selling some kind of soda or chips that are about to expire. Or they are busy cashing 34 WIC checks. Today I called about having custom cut meat done and was informed that due to supply and demand they had the meat but wouldn't cut it for some reason they also informed me that their meat cutters were getting off in over 40 minutes and we're done cutting for the day. Honestly at this point if you're looking for me go to Fred Meyer's Winco or one of their other competitors actually want to sell your product. read more

2.5 if you were to ask me Your typical Albertson's grocery chain store. They ran out of garlic bread when I went to pick some up one day. AND! For some reason, when I go to pay, it doesn't remember my phone number for my club card because I forget my card at home. (Boo!) They are a bit on the pricier side but I feel like I don't get that much quality being served in the produce department. But I do think that their produce doesn't spoil right away like the stuff from TJ's on 185th does. There's so MUCH SPACE in the area, it seems like they're missing a table for produce to be sold. Or they just don't have that much to sell. I don't know. Store seems usually dead. Employees seem to just have a light day at work every time I visit. Most of the action occurs at the Red Box kiosks than their Hot Foods area. The presentation of their hot foods area seems like it needs to be vamped up. As a customer, it seems like the stuff has been sitting there for a couple days. It doesn't seem pleasing to the eye to purchase. I think the only thing worth purchasing if you want to give out your diet is the Fried Chicken, they're at least legit on that. But not everything is bad with Albertson's. They have a pharmacy but I have yet to visit them. I think the nice thing about this place is that they have a recycling center, but you have to bring your stuff all the way to the back of the store where you can do your recycling. I haven't done it before because I just saw someone doing that and I didn't think this place had a recycling kiosk like Winco and Costco does. I just go here because it's convenient. To get gift cards usually or salad. I don't know if it's because it's the location that this Albertson's is at but it's not the worse or the best. Just meh. read more

This is one of the locations near my work. I come here once every so often for things I need or to return a RedBox. There is also a Starbucks located inside here and they have their own gas station. The Starbucks is one of the smaller ones, but they do have a small select ruin of pastries. The pricing is similar to the regular Starbucks locations. The prices in the store is average and they do have a good selection of grocery type items. Think of it as another Safeway, Thriftway, Fred Meyers type of store. The deli here is great though. I love their fried chicken and Jojos. The gas station is usually cheaper than most of the other ones in the area. I have filled up here before without any issues. Judy in the bakery saved my daughter's birthday. The tiered birthday cake I'd ordered from another bakery disintegrated on in my friend's car on the drive to the party. Devastated, my friend went to Albertsons nearby to see if anything could be done. They made us a new, delicious cake that looked practically identical to the ruined one in about an hour. Judi the amazing cake decorator is fabulous. If you ever need a cake of any kind she is the master of making and designing anything. We came in last minute for my son's birthday cake and I asked if they had any theme cakes in the back. She asked if I had 8 minutes and then began decorating an Avenger's Cake for him immediately. I can not thank her enough especially since her staff said she had been there for 12 hours. You would have never known because she was so polite and provided me with the BEST customer service.
