GAWD there are a TON of people and this place has EVERYthing. Except an adding machine. They didn't have one those. I went in and looked for an adding machine ... a glorified calculator.... cost me $700 dollars. I spent that much money looking for a 10 key calculator!!!!! I walked out with EVERYthing BUT a calculator. I'm never shopping for one of those again at Costco ;-) This place is the go to place for anything you need. Look them up on line too. We've gotten lots of things that way. And sometimes, the prices are better online that in-store. read more

I've been going to Costco for about ten years now. We've been to Costco's in Minnesota and we've shopped at Costco's in San Diego. This Costco in Chico is the worst we've been to. In fact, if this were my first and only experience with Costco I probably wouldn't renew my membership. I haven't taken pictures but every single time I've been there, no matter what time of year, the produce is moldy and rotting right there for everyone to see. I even went so far as to ask the produce guy that I always see what's up with all of the rotten food and he said "we're just too far up north. The food rots on the way. It's not my fault, nothing I can do". Too far up north? Nothing he can do? My husband worked as a produce guy at the Costco in Minnesota. He showed up at 4 every morning with the rest of the morning crew and went through the produce and threw away what was rotten so that customers wouldn't have to throw away half of their bag of potatoes or case of apples! This is how Costco learns which vendors to buy through. If their produce department is constantly having to toss half of a shipment then obviously Costco is loosing money and can't pass any savings onto the customer. Other than the huge issue with their produce department we've gotten food poisoning from their chicken pot pies in the deli. That wasn't fun with a two and five year old. Also they hire a lot of college students, nothing wrong with that. But their employees have been extremely rude and unprofessional. There are a good handful of faces that I've come to recognize over the three years I've been here and they're good. But when you see young employees riding the cardboard trolly down a busy path not minding the small children and elderly, you have to wonder read more

I have to say that I am really impressed with Costco's customer service. I made an online request for Just Egg (it's carried at some other Costco's). Not only did the store manager follow up the next day, the buyer emailed me today with a possible date that they might carry it. My suggestion for improvement is the check out lines. The space to line up isn't deep enough to accommodate all the people in line with their carts. read more

This Costco have literally everything!!! First thing first, it's member only. They have different level of membership and price is between $55-$100idh. They save you a lot of money. Gas station and lowest price than other regular gas station out there. Staff at gas station is friendly and helpful when you need them, they are there. Warehouse is so huge! They have food court where you can stop by on your way in or out. Pizza, hotdogs, drinks and etc. We ordered several pizzas from there and every time it's so yummy! Best deal is get one whole pizza because you end up with leftover and you save $. Their clothes quality is very good. Not like Walmart quality. They are reasonable price as well. My husband brought Khombu boots there and it's sturdy quality. We plan get some good clothes there someday. They had those thick flannel sweatshirt. It amazed me how thick they are and truly going to keep you warm through winter! They sell organic foods and drink there. They sell many bulk food for great deal. Absolutely amazing deal because it will last you longer if you are only a married couple. It's indeed great for big family, big party or even huge event. They sell household supplies that will guarantee last you long time unless you have big family. Pet needs, kitchen needs and all that. It's all there. Basically, they are amazing place to go shop and save! P.s. There's many more to Costco but this is what we gone to so far. I will update in future. read more

Have always loved Costco. That is why I am so disappointed in my most recent experience. I bought a Silverton model Traeger during the roadshow at the Costco in Chico. Having been wanting to buy a Traeger for quite a while, I was informed that the Silverton was an especially great value at $699. About one week later I saw a larger model, the Elite 34 for $599. This model had been marked up at $799 during the roadshow. I felt there was a clear bait and switch at work. I brought this to the attention of the manager on duty, Mike, who essentially called me a liar and that the model was always $599. The problem with his claim, they had not had a Traeger for sale since I arrived in town (since September). Returning a Traeger grill is not so easy a task, especially in the rainy winter and living 35-40 minutes away. But the rhetoric from Mike was bring it back. He was unwilling to help explain the corruption at work with their pricing scheme and claimed I was too upset to help. I never raised my voice, nor used any foul language. I pointed out the pricing and asked for an explanation. Mike chose to blame Traeger, and then blame me, the customer. Mike then claimed to be the Store Manager. My advise to Costco, get a Store Manager who is interested in helping customers. Mike doesn't seem too interested in that. I try to be very fair with Yelp reviews. I am open to changing my perspective and experience with more information. With this being the only Costco in the area, should things not improve we'll be cancelling our membership. Update: Waited on hold with Traeger for 3 minutes and they were able to explain the differences between the two models. They also apologized for the misrepresentation, which was neither their fault nor intended but certainly appreciated. The Silverton is a newer model and the Elite Texas 34 is discontinued. Shame on Costco for selling a discontinued model. I bumped my review to 3 stars as every other interaction with employees and service here has been top notch. I maintain knocking two stars off for a pretty awful manager in Mike, especially not knowing the products. read more

Im rating the food court. Honestly, Costco's cheese pizza is some of my favorite pizza, it's super cheap and it's probably my go-to hangover remedy. : ) I also love that when you order a slice, they really give you two and it comes with a soda. Of course their hot dogs are super yummy and always a safe choice. Their churros are my guilty pleasure.. They're less than a dollar and i LOVE treating myself to one here and there.. Also speaking of sinful sweets.. their coffee or berry soft serve is delightful : ) read more

If you need it in bulk, there's no where better to go! There food court is half-decent as well, good for a snack or what-have-you, but probably not something you'd want to eat on a regular basis. read more

Wednesday, May 13th, I assisted my elderly mother at Costco. She stopped at the Customer Service Desk to ask a question on our way out. My poor mother was treated disrespectfully and belittled by the young woman, Leena, working in membership services . I was appalled by how she responded to my mother's questions. In our many years of shopping at the Chico Costco the customer service by Leena was complete unprofessionalism and not what you would expect from a Costco employee. read more

Well... I was meeting someone here who has a membership I got here early and decided to eat. I looked on the phone and it said it's okay things that you can do at Costco without a membership included eating. Well they sure gave me a hard time I showed him on the phone what it said. The manager said it was outside only. Very rude. I have thought about getting a membership here but but I sure won't now. Feel like I'm going to throw up this damn hot dog. I wouldn't ever have come in here to try and eat if I didn't think it was okay. So all that information on the phone about Costco and you can eat here is wrong apparently. Hot dog is kind of sticking in my throat in my throat now. It's not like I was trying to get away with anything here I'm a little annoyed okay a lot... shame on them. read more

I like this place. The food court needs to be better designed, but overall good shopping. Grab a slice while you are there. read more

I love Cosco they are fabulous I always get my organic coffee cream ate gas and sometimes flowers they are friendly and fast read more

Costco's are Costco's. But the management and employees are friendly and extremely helpful. Like all Costco's their lines can be long at times but their cashiers are fast and get people in and out of there quickly. My favorite part is going and trying the samples as the samples are generous and yummy. The warehouse is clean and other than dealing with other members who can be rude at times it's a pleasant shopping experience. read more

Great selection of food and supplies. Great prices, though you have to buy in bulk. It's too bad they had to hire a security guard, but I guess it's a sign of the times. Found a nice toolset I think I'll pick up. Compared to other Costco's this one isn't all gay busy, which is kind of nice. read more

This Costco has the nicest most helpful employees I have ever seen. Their food court has multiple more items than we have at ours. The food court had many more items, as well. They had cheeseburgers, açaí bowls and pork salad. Come on Novato, California! read more

Just had another bad experience with Costco. They are hiring more and more college students with little to no customer service skills. They are not genuine and are borderline rude now. I really miss the "old" Costco. There are plenty of genuinely nice young people who are swift and intelligent that Costco can hire, surely. If there's a shortage, then hire older employees, ones who aren't constantly talking about whether they're going to party this weekend etc. and instead spend time on the customer. read more

One of my all time favorite companies! Always able preorder pizzas and make a quick and easy pick up. Also just enjoy the products they carry. read more

Worst customer service ever!! Rude employees, especially the girls. For all the money we spend there, the least we can get is "hello". An employee name Lola was the worst. RUDE! RUDE! RUDE! Terrible.... read more

I used to like shopping here but after todays experience to say the least that I won't spend another dollar here. I walked out without purchasing the items I wanted because of poor customer service and they definitely were making false assumptions and stereotyped me. I show my card at door like always, didn't pull it out of my wallet but flashed a very visible black Costco membership card. Go to stand in line and rude Alleged supervisor says to show him my membership. I ask what's the problem and he states that I didn't show it to the person working the main entrance. So he was basically calling me a liar saying I didn't have a membership with them. I showed him my card just to prove indeed that I was a member and I told him to take back my items, and that I would cancel my membership as well. Why pay money to be harassed by this guy? This guy a cop in training? Seems like he's on a power trip. Speaking of cops in training isn't it early for Weenies to be dressing up for Halloween. The new wannabe fake cop that stands out front of entrance is a clown. He's Standing at the entrance mean mugging and eyeing at you with his handcuffs and taser in hand. Haha what a circus show. read more

People need to know that Costco/Sams Clubs are working where house. Not a supermarket. They try to give fast checkout . If you want to stop and Bitch about stuff Don't Join. Read the rules before you join. The food demos are a tastes to see if you like the item before you buy. Not you Lunch or meal. They have rules to follow for the samples, and they are not your rules.when they put your name in front of the store we will follow your rules . And don't forget the Demo people are employed by a 2nd concern. read more

This Costco is the only reason I like living in a college town: The checkout boys are such smooth-armed, frat boy hotties. I'm a mom in her 30s, so having some eye candy when I'm running errands with two kids in tow is a major plus. Not only are they cute, the guys are always helpful, polite, and so sweet with my kiddos. The alcohol selection is quite nice, too. Good whiskey selection, and a few wines I like as well. read more

You gotta love Costco. This one is ok. I don't know if it's just the costco here or all costco but I find that the produce can get over ripe and spoil quickly. I know depending on where you are certain costcos have things others don't. I would like a little more ethnic foods. read more

Came here on a Sunday morning to find the place fairly empty for a Costco. Which was awesome. Great selection of Sierra Nevada Brew. Not a great selection of 22oz craft beer compared to other Costco's. Place was clean, associates friendly. Chico has a great Costco! read more

We ALWAYS shop at Costco first-from groceries to electronics to furniture. All our photos are done here not to mention the optometrist and eyeglasses! Love it! Can't believe all of the negative comments I read about customer service here--they are always so nice. We always get a hello--not the forced WalMart or Bed Bath and Beyond pestering--just nice folks. People seem to enjoy working there and it shows--even when they are busy. Keep on keeping on! read more

Chico Costco has changed no longer the awesome customer service as before. Last couple times I've been here they've treated me like trash and I've been a lifetime customer. In my opinion the staff at Chico Costco need to be coached up read more

Service and friendliness has definitely gone down considerably. If it were not for having a fairly large family the prices would not be worth it. I like to shop at Costco. Yes it's crowded sometimes. One thing I really like is how fast, even on the busiest time the lines go through. It still would be nice to have express lines. Most of the cashiers are pretty fast which helps. I'll be there today as we do most of the Saturday's read more

110% recommend Costco Optical. Dr. Edgar Parker did a wondering job with making my trip to the Costco Optical a quick and easy one.

Just want to shout out Kimberly from Costco, I think she works in the food court. She was very nice and understanding when the kids spilled a drink in the food court she cleaned it up and wouldn't even let me help. Then she replaced the cup for us. Very appreciative of her being so helpful especially given we had young kids with us and it was later in the day. Aka last stop of an errand filled day. Thank you fe being so helpful! read more

I have been shopping at costco for 20 years. Always been a huge fan and encouraged people to get a membership. 3 weeks ago the swimming pool was on sale for $100 off and out of stock. The next week in stock at regular price and I decided to buy it. One week later on sale for $100 of and out of stock. They refused to price match because the item was not on the floor. This is the first time I have ever asked for a price match. Went to customer service chat online and was told they had never heard of that. Went back to store and was told they would be in stock soon and keep checking back. I have a job cant stop at costco every day. I am canceling my membership tomorrow and will never be back. P.s. This is not about the money it's about the way I was treated. read more

Once again Costco was a jolly good visit. A slice of fried gold. The experience and laughs shared by such great workers as Paul Priest and Kevin Young were spot on and made the wait in line at least bearable. We were able to find things because we took time to look and realized it wasn't the employees fault but a decision made above them. Otherwise the bald blokes Brant Schuler and Corey Buchanan helped us as well in our endeavor. Jolly good boys, keep up the good work. I believe the English saying is 'Haters are going to hate lads'. read more

3 weeks ago I was approached by a nice young gentleman by the name of Will who was with Direct TV in Costco. He was very informative and answered all questions and what meant so much is he was honest not your typical salesman. He gave me a brochure pertaining all the info and told him in would talk with my wife. I recently went back straight to the kiosk and asked for William and from the start a gentleman informed me it was better that he was there and not William. I was barely allowed to get maybe 2 words and noticed and informed him that William would be getting the sale but yet he claimed to be the owner and when asked why his name was not on the form Shaun stated he would make sure he gets it. Regardless to say I was with my girlfriend who was signing up and felt she was be pressured into getting a package she said no to. It was brief and I took it upon myself to see if he would honor what he told me by calling 2 days before install with the company I believe handles installs and new orders Smart Circle I was told a different price from Shaun then a Rep on the phone had to explain a rsf fee through not explaining a regional fee well that young man's name was NOT ON there. I cancelled the order due to not only this fact but was hoping I would see William again to go through him. I was told things by a young kid who told me great let's give him a call. The young tall kid didn't have a name tag but was training someone in the store by the name of Sam. The first tall kid i asked to speak with William personally while he claimed to be on the phone with William I was lied to and was put on the phone with Shaun who didn't remember or seem to care about the employee who to me William reminded me of my son who past away. I came back into Costco yesterday hoping to see William who didn't push me into anything but showed me nothing but a professionalize you can't train. Found out he was fired and once again the owner felt the need to express his mind not remembering who I was because I wasn't with my girlfriend. I felt the need to write this review due to the fact I felt lied to and that William had a way about himself and dealing with his mother being sick he always mentioned how good life was with God. But as for Direct TV and getting Costco from Shaun and that gentleman who felt the need to not only take his sale lie and not change it left a taste that I will definitely be speaking my mind to corporate or mgmt and hopefully to Shaun. This review is not intended to be negative just I'm a Vice President of a local Sales Firm and Costco and hopefully William will get this message. read more
