Got the biscoff and the coffee didn't even taste like biscoff. It tasted more like a bitter espresso which is weird considering how light it looks. Overall, wouldn't come back again.

plain ice latte with oat milk

First time at cortado in garden grove and very pleasantly surprised with how good the drinks are here! We got the plain latte and the biscoff latte (less sweet) , both with oat milk and they were so good! The beans were the long black med - dark and ot was so smooth. A lot of coffee shops have espresso that is kind of on the very bitter and sharp tasting side, but I feel like the lattes here still had that strong deep taste but was very smooth. I'm not the biggest coffee person but I would come here again for sure

Super delicious lattes!! I got the banana cloud latte and was super impressed! The cream top was yummy and the banana taste wasn't too overwhelming. The coffee itself tasted good and was the perfect intensity.

Ice mocha FTW!!!! Made by Angie.

I've been meaning to write a review for quite a while. Finally doing it. Cortado Coffee in Garden Grove (Orange County) is owned by Angie Chun (current owner of Long Black Coffee in Fountain Valley). For those who may not know or remember, Angie used to run Coffee Code in Buena Park for years, and she's also a former owner of another coffee shop, Flat White in Cypress. And let's not forget the 2015 Latte Art Champion (1st place). Yesterday, I've decided to visit Cortado at least one more time. I ordered myself an ice mocha, and the drink was amazing. It was actually made by Angie herself. She never failed me once. This is why I do business with someone who really knows how to run a coffee shop and have a lot of experience. Staff here are very helpful. I think one of them knew exactly who I was. Funny how things goes in life. Overall.... 5 stars for their coffee, the staff, coffee shop, and Angie!!!

Hot vanilla latte

Rainy day called for a hot latte. Went to Cortado. Nice shop. Plenty of parking. Great service. House made vanilla syrup. Good vanilla latte. Beans had a nice fruity flavor. Overall pretty balanced. Can't wait to go back and try more drinks

Banana cloud

Came by here on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty busy. After having my coffee I could tell why. The banana cloud was amazing. I have been craving it for days, since having it for the first time. The espresso is bold and not bitter the banana foam was light and not overly sweet. My nephew tried the biscoff latte which was also really great. I like how balance their drinks are. Custome service and ambiance are great. Definitely recommend stopping here.

How have i never been or heard of Cortado before! Cortado is in the middle of the plaza and there is plenty of parking spots available. Lots of seating inside if you wish to study. The baristas were very sweet and gave me great recommendations on what to get! Biscoff cookie butter latte 5/5 the coffee was soo yummy. The roasted beans were not too bitter and sour. Great quality of beans here! I really enjoyed the coffee flavors of the biscoff. Definitely will be coming back to order this drink again Strawberry matcha latte 4/5 pretty yummy! Matcha was smooth and it was not powdery. Nothing out of the ordinary for a strawberry matcha

Our drinks -- not very strong on the coffee front.

I'm always excited to support and try new coffee shops, especially local ones. Cortado Coffee is located in an older plaza, and the inside has that same-same coffee/boba shop aesthetic -- clean, open spaced , and comfortable. I was really hoping the coffee would stand out, but unfortunately it was just okay for me. Not bad, just a bit underwhelming on the taste compared to what I expected. The staff were okay not engaging or overly friendly or anything bad but still would had been nice to see the staff more upbeat.

Mangot tonic espresso and passion fruit mocktail

Wow my mango tonic is pretty strong. Wish they could have the matcha tonic option soon. I had one at another place and it was splendid.

I've been to Long Black coffee and I noticed they had the same menu. It took me a while to realize that they're the same branch (?). Same beans on same, same menu, same style. Different city. Parking is small. The inside was quiet and clean. The baristas were very quiet and were emotionless, except when speaking towards each other. It took a few minutes for them to take our order. We ordered a pistachio, their latte of the month, and a pour over coffee. We also ordered a ham and cheese. We finished eating our pastry. And by then, our drinks were finally ready. We noticed that they had to remake the pour over coffee for some odd reason. The pistachio is a creamy, but didn't have hints of pistachio. The Valentine's Day special was good and the pour over was also good. We have the same beans at home that we've purchased from Long Black Coffee, so it was nice to have it. Overall, I wouldn't say it was amazing. I'd rather go back to Long Black Coffee for service and drinks.

I was randomly in Garden Grove for a few hours and needed a coffee stop. I had zero idea of where to go, so when found this place on Yelp, I liked what I saw and gave it a shot. So glad I did! Sometimes coffee shops inside little strip malls don't always pan out, but this was one of the better lattes I've had in a while. My drink is always simple, iced oat milk latte with honey and a triple shot, and this one was on point. I was impressed with the oat milk and the perfect blend with the honey they provided. There was plenty of space inside for anyone who wanted to hang out or open their laptop for work. The Baristas were friendly and I was in and out in a matter of seven minutes. Parking wasn't a problem either. Considering I had no expectation going in, I left very happy, and if I'm ever in that area again, I would definitely go back. The strip mall itself isn't that appealing, but don't let the looks fool you, this was a good coffee shop.

Coffee cream latte
Linda V.

Came here to try their einspanner but for whatever reason this morning ended up getting their coffee cream latte as soon as my eyes panned to it on the menu. Glad I did. They will ask if you want your coffee for here or to go. Had a few hours to get some work done and enjoyed the soft music and drink in a nice ceramic black cup, friendly staff and decent tables. Highly recommend - looking forward to trying their other drinks. I think their coffee is solid.

Matcha EINSPANNER and Hazelnut Latte
Janet T.

Cortado Coffee was actually not part of our itinerary. We wanted to try the dim sum and banh beo place right next door but, we were waiting for 2 YELPIES to arrive to join us so we went here first too kill time... MATCHA EINSPANNER: 9/10 Rich, creamy and not sweet. Pure matcha goodness! HAZELNUT MOCHA LATTE: 10/10 Probably their most popular drink. It's strong, rich and creamy. AMBIANCE: Quite a lot of people inside and outside the store so it's legit good ;) KEEP IT UP CORTADO COFFEE!!!

This shop gets very busy and the wait is so worth it, I promise. There are several tables inside, however they also fill up fast, especially during the weekends. Da Vien offers many options with add ons and different sugar levels to fine tune to your taste buds and avoid disappointment. Now let's talk Vietnamese egg coffee! A thick, velvety layer of golden egg cream sits beautifully atop the iced coffee, lightly dusted with cocoa for the perfect finishing touch. The first sip hits you like a tiramisu or creme brulee, it's light and airy, sweet and rich. The whipped egg yolk layer blends nicely with the robust coffee. It completely balances the Vietnamese coffee flavor beneath to create quite the indulgent drink without being overwhelmingly sweet. I live almost an hour away and I couldn't wait to try their coffee since all of the KEI Concept restaurants are worthy of special occasions and out of town guests. The iced vanilla latte was my beverage since I generally start with classic drinks when trying a new place. If a coffee shop can produce really good basic drinks for me, then I tend to venture back and try other drinks and specialty items. That's just me. So I will be back to try the corn cheese latte! The service was also great. KEI Concept as a company is doing everything right. Please open a location, any kind (restaurant, coffee, desserts), in L.A.! I know it will be amazing! Sorry no photos of the cookie and drink that I got. I was on an important call when I walked in, and just devoured it. Next time I go I will add more photos!

Their spicy level may be a bit high as I ordered mild, but it was more like a medium (maybe it was just the seasonings being concentrated at the top). * Pink Guava Strawberry Tea 5/5 - Very refreshing and sweet drink, hint of guava and strawberry, not strong taste. * Blended Oreo Brulee 5/5 - Creamy, eggy, sweet goodness. The person helping us was friendly and got our drinks made pretty quickly even with a bit of a line. We got the Double Matcha and the Matcha Einspänner, and both were really well made. The Double Matcha was smooth and rich with a strong matcha flavor that wasn't bitter at all. The Matcha Einspänner was the standout though, that creamy whipped top over the matcha created the perfect balance of rich and refreshing, definitely a unique drink you don't see everywhere. Prices were reasonable for the quality and portion sizes, and everything felt fresh and well made. Great coffee shop overall, and I'll definitely be back to try more off their menu.

Since the menu lists the phoenix oolong MT drink as made with dairy free milk, I asked the cashier if this meant it would be using oat milk, which is what most of the other drinks are made with. The response I received was that it uses "non-dairy milk." I didn't think this was very informative and wish there could've been some better clarification. For the cafe itself, it was VERY HOT inside. Having no AC in this weather for a popular boba shop is quite sad and stingy. The workers were all glistening with sweat. I did visit the restroom, which was even hotter than the rest of the store.

Although, first impression, I really liked how clean it is with great lighting and seating! The one thing that really bumped up my review for this place was how CLEAN the restroom is. Especially with their fancy toilet that it's foot sensor? that's crazy. Definitely a top-notch bathroom cause I felt so safe in there lol. Anyways, ordering was easy, which you can just place it at the kiosk. I got the matcha jasmine oolong tea (with 30% sugar and jasmine oolong jelly) since it was most reviewed here on Yelp. It was really good! Very refreshing and the right amount of sweetness. The matcha could be bolder, but I thought it was still a nice touch to have with the drink. The Jasmine Oolong Jelly was a lot denser than I imagined, kind of like the texture of a rainbow jelly (but not as bouncy), but it was still pretty delicious! The overall flavors were pretty good for a boba drink. I was initially intrigued by their durian coffee, but their tea here is actually pretty good. Not sure how their coffee is here, but will definitely try next time if in the mood for coffee! Also the cups here are pretty cute! After seeing several positive Yelp reviews, we decided to give this place a try. My husband wasn't a fan of the location because the plaza was extremely crowded, but he did mention that the shop itself had a friendly, trendy atmosphere. The staff greeted him right away, and the drink presentation was impressive. The takeout bag was a nice touch, and we were even gifted eco-friendly gloves from AnEco as part of a sustainability promotion--something we can all appreciate. As for the drinks, my husband ordered the Matcha Cloud Jasmine Milk Tea, and I ordered the Jasmine Oolong Milk Tea, both at 60% sweetness. The sweetness level was spot-on, but we were both hoping for a stronger tea flavor. I'd rate the drinks a solid 3/5. Our total came to $15.46 for two drinks, which is pretty standard these days. Overall, the customer service was excellent, and the drinks were decent. However, we're still undecided about returning, as we don't feel the drinks alone are enough to justify navigating the busy, overcrowded plaza.
