We stopped here to have some drinks and had a great time. The servers were very friendly and attentive. The beers were good and so were the cocktails.

Ambiance (2/5): Located on the busy strip of Mill. There's a tight row of outdoor dining tables and the wall is shared with the inner bar on the inside. The dark inside setting has bar seating and similarly tight spacing. Loud rock music played from the speakers overhead where we dined outside. Walls are decked out in graffiti/ grunge decor. Bathrooms require a key from the front and are located around the building behind locked metal doors. Service (1/5): It was basically no service as we walked our water glasses from the server from the bar and also ordered at bar. Spicy Chicken Asiago (2/5): The chicken meat was very dry and hardly seasoned. I liked the spice level but the overall flavor was lacking despite having a side of pico and sour cream to bolster the pastry. The pastry dough reminds me of a pie crust and that part was soft and buttery but not crunchy. I enjoyed the dough part. Lamb w Mint (2/5): The lamb was flavored well but the mint flavor was crazy overpowering-- it made it taste disgusting as if I were brushing my teeth with mint meats.

Great location right on mill, you can sit outside or enjoy the bar inside. We stopped in for a few beers, the soup of the day was a mushroom spinach walnut and it was amazing. We got the grilled cheese with it which was okay no complaints. The cheese fries "chips" were AMAZING perfectly crispy. Our server was kind and welcoming, will definitely stop back for the full meal experience.

I love the dark moody vibe in here. The server showed love for her job and explained a custom cocktail she created for the menu. There's so many options on the menu for people of all dietary needs. This is a must have! We will be back.

Good pasty and chips. Meat and Swede is always good. Pepper forward as is traditional. Crust was tasty but maybe not as traditional. Red wine gravy was solid. This location is a hole in the wall bar with above average food. The bar itself is tiny and the staff was entertaining. It's very much a dive bar with lots of taps but some stale in the mix.

We were staying near downtown Phoenix but they never had chicken tiki masa when we were there. We headed to Tempe because they had a few left. When we got there, they only had one left. The pastie hit the spot. This location is small. Service was good.

Had the Scottish Egg. And the Banger & Mash pasty. Delicious! Great selection of libations. And many vegan/ vegetarian options. Service was spot on.

The L-shaped bar seats 15 people and there are six high tops that seat six people, three picnic tables outside for eight people each, and a long couch inside for four people to chill. My beertender was very friendly and accomodating. He gave my dog Hansel a bowl of water and a biscuit. This is a very dogfriendly taproom. Both beers I had were very tasty. My first pint was a Hefeweizen. It had a slight waxy mouthfeel. My second pint was an oatmeal stout. At 7.3% ABV it was a tad strong, but it went down very smoothly. I snacked on some free popcorn but it was seasoned with a strong spice. Thankfully I could help myself to the water fountain. I enjoyed the ambiance and will be back.

Chupacabra was open, was a three-minute drive, and had excellent reviews. So my decision was made. I parked on the street for free a minute away on foot. Ambiance (3.5/5): Pretty much your typical beer bar. Relatively small inside, but they also have a patio out front with picnic style seating. Casual. My type of bar. My only complaint? I hate picnic style seating because it doesn't give you back support. Which made me want to avoid the patio. Service (5/5): Super friendly service. The guy working the bar did a great job. I ordered one beer and called it a night. A seamless experience from beginning to end. They also have complimentary water in a water cooler, which is always a nice ou Food (N/A): I read they have food trucks, but I didn't see any when I visited. I had dinner prior anyway. Drinks (4.5/5): I love trying new beers and Chupacabra has an excellent selection. They have a rotating screen above the bar. Some interesting brews, ranging from local craft brews to quality European beers. This is not the type of place that has your typical assortment of mediocre beers. You'll find a lot better here. Overall, a cool spot in downtown Mesa. I'd definitely return the next time I'm in the neighborhood!
