Crunchy Tacos Plate & Chips & Salsa
    Tricia S.

Food was great and staff was friendly. Location was easy to find, only paid parking nearby. Parking is close by, pay by QR code or app. Crunchy Taco Plate was delish .. a little pricey ($17) for 2 tacos but it was filling. Mexi rice was the perfect side for it. The chips and salsa were free (1st round) but salsa didn't have much flavor and was watery. Lots of TV screens to catch a game or two.

Service was okay, loved the buffalo shrimp. Great place to watch sports games, they put on what we asked for. Lots of tvs, the food wasn't insane or anything but it's definitely not a spot i would avoid. It was all good/okay. HUGE margaritas!!!

A solid option for casual dining and affordable drinks, conveniently located on Mill Avenue. The restaurant features both outdoor seating and a spacious indoor bar, creating a lively and accommodating atmosphere. The food is enjoyable and reasonably priced, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout the visit. I would recommend stopping by to explore their happy hour offerings.

Randomly decided to pop in one night on Mill Ave because I was CRAVING some tacos. I believe they do provide you with a round of chips and salsa and the menu is pretty big. I ended up getting two tacos with rice and refried beans. The food was absolutely delish. But the service was terrible. I mean the food took so long and we barely got our waters refilled. I was super hungry so maybe I could've been hangry too. But I mean the service was so slow I thought I server went home . Anyway, this place still gets 4 starts because the food was awesome and the prices are good as well. I definitely go back when I'm less hungry to see if my experience is less dramatic haha

Okay, our first meal since driving from Las Vegas to here! Quality/Quantity - Complimentary Chips and Salsa - It was okay/good, but we were warned to not fill up as they give generous portions here. Bowl of Tortilla Soup - This was just okay, but my wife enjoyed it. She is a soup person and this winter air was a perfect day for it. Steak Sizzling Fajitas and The Sides - I shared with my wife. Generous portions. More than enough for us two, Smothered Burrito Grande - Our guest's order and I was impressed he finished this but not surprised. Generous portions, and it was obviously good as this was the first restaurant our guest took us to. Two Enchiladas - Can you believe my daughter finished this by herself!? So it must have been good. I felt it was a huge portion, plus all the sides! And to wash it all down: Our guest did not even know that they brewed their own beers here, so I guess he will come even more often now. AZ Amber - My usual "red," always good. And with a lime. 101 Wheat - Surprised my guest chose such a light beer, maybe we wanted to make a good first impression on me...? But he knows I/we are heavy drinkers?!?! Loco Gold Sample - Good, but my Amber was better. I enjoyed your Mexican craft beers; it was slightly different from other craft breweries. Lots of promotions, happy hour, etc. See website or my pictures. Atmosphere - Good size location. Cool decor. Both indoor and outdoor spaces. I especially like the indoor/outdoor bar seating, see pictures. Lots of TVs for viewing. Semi open kitchen. Open 7 days a week from 11am to 2am. Their website's and Yelp's hours differ slightly. Not sure about the parking situation as we walked here. Service - Good. Price - $83 + generous tip. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2004 with your 4 locations. Congrats on your success at this location since 2013.

Really enjoyed it here! There are a ton of TVs so it would be great to go and watch a game. They also had the sound on for the games so it was a good game environment if you wanted to watch a big game there. First we got the guacamole and chips. It was really good. Much chunkier than a normal guac and had some heat. But I still really like it. I then go the crunch tacos plate because it was their specialty. DELICIOUS. It was so good. Every part of it. Highly recommend. It also comes with two sides which is nice.

Very busy, lively atmosphere during the art festival in Tempe...... Service was good and we enjoyed the Nachos con queso blanco.

Colleagues and I were in town for business and this place was nearby our hotel. Our plates were pretty tasty! I had the grande burrito with carnitas. It was huge. The pork was perfectly cooked. The refried beans were entirely pure. They tasted good and maybe that's just how they are on this area but that was a little odd to me. The menu did say the burrito contained fajita grilled veg and they weren't joking. I did wish they were maybe cut up a little more to make it easier to cut/eat. Service was fine. The restaurant is pretty noisy. I can't imagine if it was busier than the sleepy early Sunday eve when we went. They also have a TON of tv screens-- it's like a sports bar on steroids.

Taco Tuesday!!! They have a great deal on tacos and they're delicious! My fave is the crunchy Pork Carnitas...great flavor and the toppings compliment it. The Smashed Potatos were seasoned well AND are on the happy hour menu. The star of the show are their wings! They're cooked perfectly crunchy and amazing flavor. The one on Mill Ave is always a fun location.

What a great find today for a late lunch. After a not so good stop at another eatery earlier in the day we were so happy to have such a better and more delicious experience here. The place was pretty empty when we arrived and we were able to sit right away. Our server was wonderful and brought us waters right away as the heat was picking up along with some chips and salsa. We ordered the Quesabirria tacos with rice and Mexican coleslaw as our sides along with chicken tenders and fries. Everything came out quick and looked great. The tacos were amazing. I only wish they were so doused in consommé. The tortilla was soggy so fast. The flavors however were fantastic. The beer selection were also good...well minus the cactus cooler local beer we tried. Harsh, horrible aftertaste. I think part of the issue was the samples were so warm since the glasses came the same way. Next time I'll opt for something different to try. Vibe was fun and great view of A mountain and the Hayden Flour Mill.

I stopped here with friends while at a concert near Mill Ave. Loco Patron is known for their tacos, margaritas and craft beers. Even though they are a Mexican restaurant, they are more of a drinking establishment for the younger folks. This place is usually packed with college students. Despite how packed this place was when we were here, I thought our waitress did a good job. The food wasn't bad and it was nice to sit down after a full day of being outside. I got the Shrimp Tacos and a Spicy Margarita. Fun place, but the large crazy crowds aren't for me.

I loved this place. I came in to town to film an interview for a documentary I'm doing and went here for lunch. The service, the food, and the margarita were outstanding. My wife and I go to Mexican restaurants regularly, and this was the BEST Mexican food I've ever had. If we lived in the area, we'd be here often. After filming, I took my crew here for lunch and they said the same thing, "it was the best Mexican food they'd had."

The chicken tenders were fire!!! What is lacking on this occasion was service. The server that we had was so unattentative. I have never been in a cocktail lounge in my life and had to beg for drinks. Our server would wait until every drinks was made for all of her tables before bringing out drinks. It was ridiculous. She was nice but seemed high. I ended up only having 2 drinks. We would have ordered more but they have 90min max seating and we didn't event get drinks for the first 30min. No exaggeration. Also one of my drinks I had to send back. My apple martini tasted like soap. It was like they did clean the glass after giving a soap bath. No bueno. So they need to get their service to match the vibe of a true cocktails lounge. Yes it is a 70s vibe but doesn't mean the lackadaisical style service. I would come back and try again. The music, the atmosphere and the food was good. They gotta get these cocktails together and service. We ended up walking to nearby competitors and that was money lost for DDG.

The most recent was…read moreon a Thursday night around 10:30 p.m. This speakeasy is located on Mill Ave., the center of Tempe's party scene. Because of its location, parking isn't easy. If you're looking for free parking, you're going to have a long walk. Outside of that, you'll have to pay for parking in a garage or metered street parking. Ambiance (4/5): Hint hint. Idle Hands is located inside Devil's Hideaway. A true speakeasy shouldn't have signage outside indicating its location. Unfortunately, there's a sign for Idle Hands outside of Devil's Hideaway which takes away the sense of mystery and intrigue that a true speakeasy provides. Outside of this hiccup, it's a cool speakeasy. It's intimate, with 10 or so seats at the bar and about 10 seats in booths facing the bar. There's a projector screen behind the bar that had mystical motion graphics the first time I stopped by (thinking wizards) and Halloween motion graphics the second time (with it being a day before the holiday). There were some other Halloween decorations up. The only area of improvement? The music often doesn't match the vibe. A lot of the music they were playing on my last visit was Irish music that would be fitting for a pub. Service (4/5): I had the same bartender each time. He knows how to make a good drink and is pretty efficient. When you close out, he only gives you the merchant copy. Which is a pet peeve of mine. Let me get that customer copy too. But overall, a good experience. Especially at a college bar. Food (N/A): I've only had drinks both times. Idle Hands actually doesn't have food, but Devil's Hideaway does. And you're allowed to bring food from there into the speakeasy. Drinks (4.5/5): It's pretty surprising to see a speakeasy on a college campus. I was impressed with the creativity of the menu, both in terms of the ingredients used and the fusion of flavors. I've had a different cocktail each time, and they've all been great. My favorite was one served in a box filled with smoke. Talk about a cool presentation! The hallmarks of a solid speakeasy are elevated cocktails, nice ambiance (dimly lit), an intimate space, and mystery/intrigue. While the intrigue is lacking at Idle Hands, and the music can be improved, they hit it out of the park in the other areas. One of my favorite speakeasies I've been to in Phoenix (and surrounding areas). I am, after all, the self-appointed king of speakeasies. The king gives his stamp of approval.

Their board game collection is massive and there's a $6 per person fee if you want to play. We ended up skipping the games this time and just came for food and drinks. Food-wise, everything was solid. I had the Spellbinder Hazy IPA along with the patty melt and sweet potato fries (a $3 upcharge). The patty melt was excellent and easily the highlight of my meal. I received five very small slices of apple, and when the plate was set down the waitress said she'd get more if needed. I later noticed I was charged $2 for an additional five slices, which together didn't even amount to half an apple. Ironically, the bread that comes with the dish would have been far more substantial. The burrata was fine, but nothing memorable. My friend ordered the chicken and brussels sprouts and didn't even finish it before having the plate taken away. The flourless almond cake was the star, a bit salty on its own, but with the ice cream and whipped cream it was a delightful combo which were the highlight.
