I ordered the three cup chicken and enjoyed it, but would be interested in trying out other items on the menu. The food is 5+++ stars! I'm really kicking myself for just coming here when I've lived close enough to walk to it for years. Put your name on the waitlist and be prepared to wait. We had a 90 minute wait on a Sunday evening, watched our place in line and came as we got close to having a table ready. We decided to order a bunch of different dishes and share. Had more food than we could even begin to finish for 4. Ordered - crab Rangoon, wontons in chili oil, pork bao, pepper chicken, pork hand pulled noodles, 3 cup chicken, crispy beef, and the Szechuan beef stew. Would order it all again. But we had a few favorites! The crab Rangoon was definitely freshly made, not frozen. The wonton part was light, crispy, and airy. 100/10. The pork bao was unbelievably good. Would definitely order again. The wontons in chili oil is one of the best things I've ever eaten. 10000/10. Will have to order this every time. Every one of us agreed that the 3 cup chicken has joined the rotation every time we come back. It was sweet, salty, umami, delicious. Everything was great, but these were our favorites. We didn't order any teas, saved the room for food. But will have to be back to try those, too! One side note - if you are larger, please be prepared as they have that quintessential modern restaurant chair that may be tight or not easy to get in and out of. 1st YELP review so be patient with me. Had lunch here Monday with two friends. We checked in using the QR code waitlist and met up just in time to get seated. The place was busy, and for good reason. The menu is wild, especially the tea options: Boba Tea, Chinese Tea, Slushies... it's endless! I went with a Matcha Boba Tea (so good) and started with Crab Rangoon before ordering the Pork Noodles for my main. The noodles were full of flavor and had that perfect chewy texture. One of my friends ordered dumplings and let me try one, definitely grabbing that next time. Service was quick, friendly, and efficient even with a full house. This place is always amazing. They have a hardworking staff, they always get the orders correct, and the food is delicious.

I've never been to Asia, but this is beyond a doubt my favorite Asian restaurant in any city in the US. It is always busy and a wait of 25 minutes is average for a table. They get enough traffic that you can watch them hand pulling your noddles while you eat. You can now put your name on the wait list on their website while en route. Their take out is also on another level...it's fast, organized, and the nicest insulated bags that you'll want to keep. I love everything I've eaten on their menu. I love the wontons in chili oil and get them every visit. If getting them to go, order extra chili oil. I'm a huge fan of the mala soup and your ability to pick every item that goes into your bowl. Cheese tea sounds wrong but it is delicious. Be adventurous, you wont regret it. Fluffy ice is wonderful as well for dessert. It has a creamy mouth feel like ice cream but it has no dairy in it. The visual layering of it appears similar to baklava. The atmosphere is casual and somewhat noisy but that's primarily because they are always busy. read more

They don't take reservations so instead they have an online waitlist system. The waitlist system is very hard to gauge your wait so be prepared to hang out in their limited waiting area. At 6:25pm on a Friday there were 36 people ahead of us. We got to the restaurant at 7:10pm and there were 16 people ahead of us. We were hungry so we got slushies. They have a self service kiosk to order and pay for a wide range of drinks. Our drinks were ready in less than 5 minutes. I ordered the Passion Fruit Slush. It was tasty and it saved me until we were seated at 7:45pm. We were starving so we ordered a lot to share. We ordered the chicken skewers appetizer. It came with 3 skewers and the chicken was coated in their honey sauce. These were tender and tasty. We ordered the dry sautéed string beans, General Tso's Chicken and Steam Buns with hoisin sauce pork. The General Tso Chicken was excellent with tender chicken, right amount of heat and the sauce is delicious. Highly recommend this dish. First time trying the Steam Buns and they were delicious too. The buns are slider size and so puffy and we stuffed them with the pork, shredded cucumber, and bean sprouts. Delicious! We heard about the dry sautéed string beans and we were not disappointed. Excellent seasoning and flavor. This was the best Asian Fusion meal EVER! We had very good service. The kitchen has glass windows so you can see the staff make noodles. We sat at a table along the back and there's a black bench. The bench needs new springs/support. It was very uncomfortable. Fortunately we sat at a 4 top so we sat next to each other. YES there was a long wait but it went by so much quicker than expected, and was well worth it! The service was efficient and the food was phenomenal, the best Chinese food at least in STL. I cannot stop thinking about this place. I have been twice now and both times were great. Friendly and helpful service, beautiful ambiance and tasty food. The chili wontons, black pepper chicken and beef egg rolls are my favorite. The spinach dyed dumplings were good but I feel that the sauce makes them. The beef stir fried noodles were ok but a little bland for my liking. The noodles are fresh and it is cool to see the employees hand pull them but I probably won't order again. Will be back for the 3 cup chicken and original dumplings. Lastly, I got the strawberry slush cheese foam tea with popping boba. Truly a St Louis gem! The food here is always fresh and authentic. Watching the chefs hand make noodles and dumplings can be considered a cultural experience. The staff are always super friendly and helpful. They are the embodiment of the word service. They treat you as guest and as though it's their pleasure to have you to choose to dine at their restaurant. The food is also always served very promptly. There's not a single dish that I've tried over the years that is not delicious. Love the latest additions of soup dumplings and chinese "burgers"! Favorites: Hongshao pork ribs, hand pulled noodles, teriyaki chicken, trio bao, 3 cup chicken, tomato eggs. The atmosphere is always bustling. I've never been there when it's quiet. The recent use of Yelp Waitlist has been a huge benefit. We used to always only get takeout at peak hours, now with the Yelp Waitlist, we can time our arrival and not be faced with waiting an hour for a table! I consider Corner17 at one of the 3 Kings of St Louis Chinese cuisine scene (along with TaiKe and Cate Zone). read more

I don't live in Saint Louis but I have been here twice because it's just that good. The noodles are to die for, you can watch them pull them fresh and stuff and fold dumplings while you eat. There is always a wait, but I promise you it's worth it, join the line ahead of time with yelp. This place can be crowded but once at your table the service is fast and the food is amazing. We came in as a group of 7 as have some family in town... it was Friday night so I know it would be busy since you can't make reservation. We arrived around 5:45 pm and was got our name on the waitlist... it said 1 hr and 20 mins wait. We went to a place to get drinks until 7:30 and came back... was told another 15 mins. I'm not sure if they kept letting people with smaller group sitting ahead of us or not... The managers eventually had to get our table ready and keep apologizing. By the time we finally get to sit down, it was 8:10 pm. So we waited over two hours just for a table, and it was in the corner so some of my family didn't get to see the noodles being made since it's their first time. At this point, to be honest, I had no appetite anymore but since we waited for so long I said let's just eat. Each of us ordered an entree. The food was ok. A 20% tip is automatically added if you have a group of 7 or bigger. Even though they gave us complimentary appetizer and dessert, it still really feels like we wasted too much time ... watching other people get their table despite we were #1 in line to get a table. The service is fast and attentive, and the servers are always happy to give recommendations on the menu. The items are very allergy friendly, and they are happy to modify things to make them shellfish/nut free, which is nice. Their boba menu has a lot of variety and the drinks are very good. There are endless options between normal Asian foods, and more unique and authentic ones. The larger tables have a wheel in the middle which is perfect for sharing tons of plates - the way I think anyone would enjoy Corner 17 the best. Each time I've been to Corner 17 I've most enjoyed watching their noodles and dumplings being made - you can watch them from anywhere in the dining room. This spot seems to be a local favorite and I could see why. They have a huge indoor dining area but also a very organized takeout system set up. Not only do they have a full restaurant, but they also have a connected boba shop! I stopped by for the first time and was impressed by the menu-- they have a good selection of hand-pulled noodles and a very large set of Chinese American dishes in addition to more "authentic" dishes. Two of us split the eggplant with hot brown sauce ($13.99), Sichuan spicy noodle ($12.99), and the wontons with chili oil ($10.99). This turned out to be a lot of food because we didn't expect the eggplant dish to also come with two bowls of rice. Everything we received was tasty. I could see how the dishes appeal to American taste because the dishes were a little sweeter than I am used to. However, the flavors were balanced really well! I was very impressed by the wonton filling. I often find that restaurants slack on this dish because the chili oil sauce can be overpowering, but I noticed that the wonton filling had a strong meaty flavor and was also tender and soupy. I didn't realize that you could join the waitlist from their online website. This could save a lot of waiting time because while they do have tables in their boba shop/waiting area, it can get very crowded. read more

My choice was the grapefruit fruit tea & it punched so much flavor & was so enjoyful! For the price you pay it's such a big drink! My drink came out so fast after ordering it on the little kiosk. I've been here more times than I can count on 2 hands. There's a reason for that and it's cause this spot is damn good. Corner 17 and Chilispot are the goats imo when it comes to authentic Chinese mixed with Americanized food. The result is consistently good food and very few slip up's. The wait here can be very long depending on time of day. Their takeout and delivery game is pretty strong too. Also, their bubble tea next door is underrated. Do not go to the Boba spot across the street or you will not collect $200. Although there is a massive window where you can watch hand pulled noodles, those are not my go-to. Their chili dumplings, beef tongue & tendon and 3 cup chicken are my favorites. I could eat that beef tongue and tendon weekly if those chilis weren't so harsh on my stomach lol. If you stick to the authentic dishes, you'll be fine. Even the non authentic dishes are very good. Food is pricey but portion size is shareable and the quality is excellent. read more

Went to Corner 17 for a birthday dinner on a Monday and they didn't disappoint. I've been there a few times before and love this place. Me and my dinner partner got there around 6 pm. They don't take reservations, but they told us when we walked in the wait would be between 10 to 15 minutes. It was, indeed that amount of a wait. The place was packed, to be a Monday. There were only one other couple in front of us. The decor is very basic, but it works. They have a tv mounted on the wall, in the waiting area to be seated ( nice touch to have a waiting area). The dining area is spacious. We sat near the windowed area that allows you to see the cooks making noodles and dumplings for the various dishes they serve. Once seated they give you this menu. I swear it's at least 10 pages, front and back starting with drinks ( boba teas, fruity drinks, milk teas, slushy drinks, fruit smoothies and more) Appetizers, side dishes, entrees and bowls. Then the entrees were broken down into chicken, pork, seafood and beef. What a delight for the senses, with pictures. I always take my time with the menu and buy drinks and appetizers first off. My dinner partner and I enjoyed deciding, from the menu , what we wanted to share. It's a whole eating experience. I was visiting St. Louis for the weekend and was told that Delmar Loop was the closest you'll get to hipster/bohemian. I can't say that I agree with this assessment, at least in the late fall season, but the area DID have a great food scene. I was hard-pressed to find something I didn't like, but the issue was choosing WHAT exactly to go for -- Corner 17 seemed like the best bet from all the reviews and the popular nature of it; there was nary a seat unoccupied, and the place was buzzing on an uneventful Thursday evening. I think the "entertainment" in the form of the handpulled noodles and dumplings being made was a tempting allure. I ended up getting takeout -- the Chengdu dumplings and a superfruit tea to go. Both were 100% what I expect to get from any Chinatown (I'm from NY), and I was super impressed with the quality and service here.
