This is my second time coming to Paris Banh Mi and first time ordering an actual meal there. This time I decided to order their Korean corn dog because I found out they're now selling them and I love them so much from my experiences at Korean restaurants around the city. Me and a friend went there and we both ordered the same corn dog, half and half original Korean corn dog, on the same order ticket. As soon as we got there I noticed we were the only ones in line and the restaurant was pretty empty, so we should get our food fairly quickly. About a line of 5 people came, ordered their food, and received their food before we ever got ours. We kept waiting and the waitress finally brought our food after about 30 minutes of waiting, but only my friend received his food. We waited longer for my food to come and it still took them about an extra ten minutes, which wasn't given to us until we went to the counter and let them know I still haven't received my food and it was then they gave me my corn dog. After I finally received my food I noticed how big it was and was at least excited to try it, but as soon as I bit into it, the majority of the inside was air and a little bit of mozzarella cheese. I was really disappointed by this experience and had high hopes I was going to enjoy it. I'm giving this experience 1 star, this place has great foods and desserts that they offer and could be better, but the staff really has to step up their performance. read more

This was my first visit to Paris Bánh Mì, and I really enjoyed it! I ordered the shrimp fried rice and the chicken gizzards. The gizzards immediately reminded me of the ones from the old Sunrise Restaurant on Hanley, a nostalgic surprise! They were crispy, flavorful, and cooked just right. The shrimp fried rice was well-seasoned and tasted fresh, although I wish it came with a little more rice for the price. Even so, the food was good, and I'll definitely be back to try other items on the menu. Wow.. okay this long review gets started with me admitting that I'm not a big fan of Vietnamese food. (Coffee yes, food, not so much) So I'm going to admit have no idea what to expect when I walk inside there... and I walk into .. A warehouse? So I walk in (to get out of the rain, figure I'm going to grab something to go), and I don't even notice the Kiosk at the front of the door line. (You don't need it guys! Trust me! Your bartendresses/waitresses(?) were nice enough and had smiles on their faces, even on a day as slow as today was (or maybe that's why they were happy? Who knows). I don't need any KIOSKS... keep the ladies around to add to the likeability factor! I'm just wanting to get going and so I walk up to the counter, and ask her what she recommends (sorry, dear if i didn't catch your name). Well the ONLY thing I knew won the menu was the milk-tea , so that was the easy choice. And you know my first question to any new place I go. WHAT is your recommendation? It took the waitress a moment to realize I wanted her choice for good food, so I guess that came as a surprise of sort? So I take her choice of the special croissant and just because my eyes see it... How about a Korean Potato corn dog? Thinking that's all there was to the place (note they hadn't even offered to make the milk-tea yet), go find a table.. and then my eyes kinda finally open up to the place. An entire rack of deserts.. Not just any deserts but things like chocolate Tiaramasu (I'd just finished watching one of my weird streaming apps that nobody watches but me), and the chef there had just finished making chocolate tiaramasu on the show, so I was tempted.. but then next to that blackbery cream cake.. just basicaly three SHELVES of mouth watering goodness. But instead of asking I turn around and REALIZE there's an entire SHELF of asian/french pastries (obviously packaged and stored and sold) over to the wall. How the heck did i not see this when I walked in? Okay, so I go simple pick up a couple of deserts off the shelf to go with my meal while I'm still looking around. Unlike Amigo Sole, there's not a lot that draws in terms of art (again other than the ARTISTRY in the sweets department). It's at this point i notice that the restaurant/warehouse has it's own little Karaoke/TV (dont know if it's programmable or how it works). but i figured that's to keep up the warehouse/rave ambiance? Nothing that really stands out, but does make it a bit unique. Anyway food comes, (this is not a rapid cook location, obviously) and make my way out the door. The Milk-tea was PERFECT all the way home. The rest of it... the Korean Potato dog was MASSIVE in size, but was kinda of the bland side, while the specialty croissant wasn't _bland_ . that's not say it wasn't bad, it was just there. Maybe i"m just not a fan of Vietnamese cooking yet? The two pastries from the shelves were what you'd thing for store processed pastries... Next time I'm going to hit the REAL bakery stuff and hopefully that can pick up the score a bit. I ordered the special pho after work one day. The brisket pieces were extremely fatty with very little that was actually edible. The broth was lukewarm and the sprouts on the side were brown and slimy. The restaurant was relatively clean however, the food was low mid. If you want try a bowl of pho there are way too many other places in St. Louis with great pho for me to ever try this place again. If I had to try this place again I'd probably try a sandwich. By the counter are "fresh" pastries I assume are made in-house. I grabbed one of each to try. Durian flavored cake $4 - 2 pieces individually wrapped. I'm back again to give the gizzards another try. I was told they were the gizzards from another restaurant that caught fire. I will say they are very good. They are seasoned well. They didn't make it home. I burned my tongue. I couldn't wait for it to cool off. Customer service was very good. Great job of taking our order and bringing it out expeditiously. We stopped in here before a concert at the pageant. It's a huge space with two separate dessert cases. One is for the baked goods and the other is for various cheesecakes. You order on a touchpad, which can be overwhelming because the menu is huge, but the food came out quite quickly. I appreciated the plethora of vegetarian options, including their specialty, banh mi. 1. My order had four items. 2. The cashier said only two of the items were on the ticket. I received the tea and the corn dog. I did not receive the two pastry items. 3. I showed her my paid order in the app. 4. She acknowledged that she could see my paid order, but proceeded to tell me that this wasn't HER app, even though the app icon is their logo, and their website is on the bottom of the order screen. 5. Then I went again and it tasted different and did not include some of the same ingredients as the first artichoke tea I got. I just thought it was an off day. The paté was rich and flavorful, the bread was pretty standard, the chicken was so flavorful and saucy, and it was also jam packed with veggies. Price-wise, very reasonable. Really love that St. Louis has a Paris Banh Mi and that it's in the Loop. The space is large and beautiful, and there is good variety on the menu. While I prefer the banh mi sold half a mile west on the other end of the Loop, the ones here are not bad at all - just a little on the sweet side for me. Where they really won me over is with the bò kho, which is the best I've had so far in STL (but be aware that theirs is spicy and that isn't always the case at other Vietnamese restaurants). The pho is also fine and will satisfy a craving. I recommend getting a bánh patê sô / pâté chaud while you're here - they are so savory and full of flavor. Everyone working here was also really nice. A+++ for the loml Thank you for bringing more banh mi places to St. Louis! It's in a great location in the Delmar Loop that has a parking lot on the side of its building. When you walk in, I love the vibes of the restaurant. And the workers are really friendly! My family and I got to go to the soft opening last weekend. Friendly service at Paris Banh Mì ! The bbq pork banh mi was delicious and full of crisp veggies! The baguette was fresh and delicious as well! This place had really declined since it first opened. The banh mi pate cha lua was cold and bread was chewy.

So I want to give it another try soon, after some time to give them a chance to fully operate. Honestly, I think there's some growing pains here. Though, I'm returning soon to try it again when they are up and fully functional and update! Overall, a good location to come sit and hang with a bubble tea or two with friends, but the teas are ok. Nothing grand or out of the norm, and their coffee was not the best. If you're going to be like a "Parisian" bakery you need to really up your game!! They had "baguette pieces" for sale in ziplock bags which is fine, but kills that feeling of being an upscale bakery type locale. This is a franchise as well, so I know there's some standard practices that go along with it. Again, this is a "soft" opening. I got a few items there, their Combo Banh mi, and a Grilled Pork one and they were quite good. Not bad, very tasty. I want to think that the baguette they used is their own special recipe but suspect it's a warehouse brand (I have nothing against using warehouse brands, but this is supposed to have a bakery feel. If anything, source from local bakers). I also bought a few "pastries (3.50 ea)." So I need to be a little picky with this one. Their Red Bean bun was outstanding, but the ones with the spinach fillings (one with ricotta and one with feta) were kinda soggy, but tasted nice. I will say their chocolate cheesecake was divine! I stopped here on a Saturday while I was in the Loop. There are kiosks to order when you walk in. I placed an order for a Grilled Pork bánh mì combo with crab Rangoon and Diet Coke. I also got the Yuzu Round Cheesecake. Since this was digital I knew exactly what time I ordered and it took over 20 minutes for my order to be ready. I thought this was a lot on a Saturday afternoon when there were only a few tables occupied in here. The sandwich was tasty and quite good but everything else was not. The crab rangoon was fried in old oil and slightly overdone. The Yuzu cheesecake was stale. The Diet Coke expired in September 2024 and I was there 2/1/25. So the baguette was crisp and tasty and fresh. The sandwich had slices of grilled pork, butter mayo, jalapeños, cilantro, sour carrot, and radish. I requested no cucumber. All of the components were tasty and fresh except the carrot and radish was not sour and tasted like it had no pickling. I would have enjoyed some more acid. The menu says the sandwich is $10.35 on its own which, after eating it, is more than fair. The combo with the 3 crab Rangoon ($3 up charge) and expired Diet Coke was $18.99 so I'm not sure 3 Rangoon and the expired bottle feel like any sort of value for an extra $8.64 when a 6pc Rangoon is about $6.99 at any Chinese restaurant. Located across from the Pageant, parking may be tough. Once inside, there's wide open spacing and plenty of seats for a quick bite to eat. There is even a kiosk if you want to place your order there. The staff is always very welcoming. I have been here several times and find that their Vietnamese Iced Milk Coffee keeps me awake 12 hours and is very well balanced between the sweetened condensed milk and coffee. I've eaten thousands of banh mi sandwiches in my life and what stood out about these sandwiches are that both of them had Chinese five-spice on it. I don't hate Chinese five spice but it definitely does not go on everything in Asia. This was a delightful spot with great banh mi sandwiches, grilled pork croissant sandwiches, noodle soups, desserts, and my favorite of all--fried chicken gizzards. The desserts consisted of some Asian choices, like egg tarts, but also a large variety of cakes and cheesecakes. Ordering is done on a screen inside the door. The ambience is casual and probably most suited to a college crowd. We enjoyed everything we had and had plenty of leftovers to taste later. Paris Banh Mi was actually quite overwhelming with everything that they had to offer and how big of a space it was. There's a lot of seating spaced out, which is nice. Service was good. As you walk in, there's a labeled patisserie wall where you can grab pre-bagged pastries; I loved this idea. They had a buy 5 get 1 free deal ($3.50 each) when I went a few weeks ago, and it seemed like an ongoing promotion. I tried their honey butter toast (wish it was a smidge sweeter/honey crusted), their garlic seasoned toast (really good and very flavorful), custard pastries (a little disappointing that the custard was so baked through and therefore it just felt like a baked puff pastry), and bacon pastry (didn't love this one, but it's also probably my fault I had it days later after I fridged it and it was not great cold). Afterwards, you reach the cash register, there's another bakery area for cake slices and warmed baked goods. The menu's very extensive and I feel like I need to keep coming back to try more of it. I did their ham and pate banh mi, which was okay. The pate was a little meatier/drier than my preference and the butter wasn't quite what I'm used to (I admit I'm a spoiled banh mi brat from Orange County, but it was closer to a saturated fat/oil consistency). They do have all of the classic ingredients and allow for modifications, which I appreciate. I also tried their pate and butter fries (it's just fries with a side of pate and butter, and the fries reminded me of the Ore Ida frozen seasoned fries), pate chaud (solid; would do again) and their egg tarts (pretty good; I liked that it wasn't too sweet). I also ordered their sugar cane drink and one of their milk teas, both of which were solid. I ordered a slice of tiramisu, but they gave me a peanut butter chocolate instead, so that was a bit of a bummer. They had a lot of cake options and they all sounded/looked really good. I definitely went overboard with the goods (total was like $97), but it was pretty worth overall. I didn't super love everything I tried but appreciated that they had so much stuff. I've eaten a lot of Bahn Mi sandwiches and this place hands is the best I've ever had. I got the special combination which is my go to when trying new places since it's the most traditional one. Well it's finally here St Louis-a decent place to get banh mi. Is it the best I've ever had? No. The bread is a little hard but is it still tasty? It sure damn is. Stumbled across this place recently and checked it out. The cross over seems a bit odd to me and I didn't have the best experience. They have bags of baguette piece for sale, but no full baguettes? Seems like a miss. When we got to the register, the cashier told us that the internet wasn't working, so we would need to come back later. Not an issue, because I had cash, but not the best first introduction. We just wanted a little snack, so we ordered a couple of pastries from the case and a plain black iced tea. The cashier didn't seem familiar with the names of things, so we had to walk over with her and point. There were at least 5 people behind the counter, so those got bagged pretty quickly. Just waiting on the tea. They gave me a number and said they'd call it soon. There's a flower wall in the place, and a bucket of locks by the register, that turns out to be a reference to Paris and the love locks. We had to ask about it before it was explained. Again, not terrible but a missed chance to "sell" the place. Then I waited... no exaggeration, it took 15 minutes to get my tea. My wife walked down the street, went to the art store and was back before it showed up. I think they lost the ticket and/or forgot. This is so disappointing because the quality of the foods has drastically declined each time I came. I used to really love eating here because the Banh Mi from here had been my favorite. The Banh Mi Dac Biet is great and I highly recommend it! However, the quality of service and the food has gone down a bit since opening, I order 5 Banh Mi to go and instead of putting the pickles and veggies separately, they put it together this time even though I don't think they supposed to do that. The meat is very good, especially the Pate. When I came this time, the veggies in my Banh Mi aren't good, since they put A LOT of cilantro, not the leafs but the body part, and it's super hard to eat because the scent of cilantro's is strong and its huge as well.
