Absolutely loved seeing Cafe Ganadara in a new space and how they have reimagined their menu. Love the addition of the ramen making stations and I will be back to try that out. For this visit, we just focused on their hot food, prepared food menu. We ordered their beef bibimbap, spam rice ball, tuna gimbap, and cinnamon pancake - hotteoke. I will start with the don'ts so I can end with a positive note. The absolute don't for a better experience. Do not order any 'grab and go' unless you enjoy microwave meals. There is no real proper way to heat up this to go meal. If you try to consume it as it is served, you will end up with clumps of fatty oil mixed in with the vegetables. If that's not enough to deter you, at least you have been warned. Now the do's. Do order the wings and nothing else. You may be tempted to order rolls/wraps, but that's a dime a dozen in the greater StL area (not a unique experience). The wings here are crispy and flavorful. The fried chicken is good here. I found out about Cafe ganadara after watching an Instagram reel about their cool ramen station and machines and was excited to check it out for lunch today. It's a hole in the wall with fried Korean chicken, packaged ramen, boxed lunches, japchae, and fun street food! I ordered the japchae and 2 hotteok which are warm sweet pancakes filled with cinnamon and sugar and nut filling. Love the updated concept of a food court with Chicken 7. It was nice to see the owners in their element again and the additional menu items are soooo good. Nice lunch at Cafe Ganadara at their new location on Jamieson Avenue and dined on a Korean beef bulgogi in a bento-style box that was delicious. I must admit this restaurant perplexed me a bit with different options including preparing your own ramen from a machine (I guess!) with a choice of different additions to your ramen bowl but decided to order the bulgogi bento box from the counter and an ice tea and ate outside on the patio outside that has limited seating but was a nice day anyway and uncrowded at lunch time. I enjoyed my food thoroughly since I love Korean food especially after living in the Far East of Asia for a few years and the food tasted as authentic as I would get there. Friendly counter service and not much ambiance but the porch was nice to sit and dine. read more

I had the bulgogi beef gimbap. It is wrapped in seaweed. There's a bit of sesame oil drizzled in the roll. I was also given a spicy noodle soup that wasn't on menu. It was really nice and spicy! It's a small place that can probably seat 20-25 people and a small outdoor seating area. They have boba tea that I wanted to try, but unfortunately they didn't have any today. Apparently they have several different sweets you can try as well. The service was prompt. I will be back to try this place again. I'm updating this review as they're at this new location that used to be mom's deli. Had the kimchi bulgogi Bimbap. My wife and I split it. It was probably not a great idea for us to do that because it wasn't enough food. What we ate though was quite good. They have self serve Ramen stations as well. read more

Thinking this is the new Chicken 7? They have a lot of things alluding to our beloved old chicken 7.. the tapokki sausage is our awesome. The Korean corn dog is also excellent. The favorite is the rice crispy chicken, such a simple concept but sooo good. It's a cute little spot, has indoor an outdoor seating right on Hampton. The atmosphere is very very quiet, almost whisper when talking kind of quiet. They had music videos playing the other time we went, so it was less quiet at least. My friend and I came here recently for Korean food. Their chicken wings were good. The bibimbap was just alright, there is something different about the texture of the rice in the bibimbap, more mushy and watery. The noodle were good, with lots of flavor. I have heard great things about this place prior to coming. Let's just say it was worth the visit. What I was most impressed with was the portion size. The food came out in massive bowls. We ordered a few things: the cold noodles with pork belly, the Chicken7 wings, and the Dakgalbi. They all tasted pretty good. The wings were a little dry in my opinion and weren't as saucy. I did enjoy my cold noodles. For the price, you do get a good deal. I also like the space of the restaurant. It's nice and cozy with some outdoor seatings. Cafe Ganadara is one of my favorite restaurants in St. Louis. I always get friendly and exceptional service when I visit. The food is always delicious and flavorful. I love the variety of Korean food they offer because they have items that you cannot find in the other Korean restaurants in St. Louis. I also love that they are located in south city as there aren't too many authentic Asian restaurants in south city. I have tried almost everything on the food menu. My favorites are the japchae bap, jjambbong, army stew ramen, chi-bap, and bulgogi gimbap. I love the spice in the ramen and jjambbong. They specialize in fried chicken so if you like that, give the chi-bap a try. Their desserts are also exceptional. You have to save room for a croffle or bingsu dessert. They have so many different dessert flavors and it would be a total miss not to try the dessert! read more

Stumbled upon this place and decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised they have a decent size menu with lots of drinks and desserts too. Although I wish they had more vegan/vegetarian options, I think only two I saw. I got the Bibimbap with mushrooms and it had a lot of flavor, my partner got the shrimp ramen and said it was delicious with lots of flavor. The corn dog was okay. BEST KOREAN FRIED CHICKEN IN STL!!! This location is so cute and tiny, very peaceful environment. If I ever crave korean food in stl, i will always come back here. I really want to like this place since they offer so many varieties of food on their menu. I ordered a bingsu with matcha and chocolate flavor, but they didn't turn out as how they were shown on the previous customer's picture reviews. There was no mochi, only peanut crumbs, and the matcha flavor was very blend. On the other hand, the chocolate was too sweet with too much chocolate drizzle. The staff there were also quite inattentive even though we were the only table at the time. I was quite upset with the item we got, but they have upbeat K-pop music and decorations in the cafe. Cafe Ganadara has my heart. My partner and I came back to recreate our first date and the experience was wildly different in all the best ways. The restaurant has always been good but since their recent menu change, I can say I will be coming back more frequently now. We started off with the SDSD and the bulgogi gimbap. For me, the SDSD left a bit of a lingering burn yet still good and the gimbap was delightful. For the meals, I had the pork belly and cold noodles while my partner had the bibimbap. His meal was spicy for me but he scarfed it down so fast - he loved it! Mine was absolutely perfect for such a hot day and had the perfect combo of flavors and textures. The pork belly had a perfect crisp pair well with the soft noodles. I also tried the dalgona latte (with oat milk!) and we decided we were too full for the desserts. However, we will be going back specifically for the Oreo one :) To top it off, our service was great and the ambiance was perfect. The cafe is nicely decorated with plush chairs / aesthetic wall decor and kpop music playing in the background. Menu includes several Korean street food items including SDSD sausage and fried chicken. Service was quick!
