Finally, I came all the way from California visit St. Louis again. On of my list for this short trip is to visit Nathaniel Reid bakery because I heard so much of them. I was not disappointed at all. They are super busy even on a Wednesday. We had turkey and cheese croissants and bacon and cheese quiche. Both are delicious! It's flaky and very fresh! Their staff is top notch and the bakery is super clean and organized. There's so many goodies in their showcases and we bought so many items.... Will eat it for the next few days. Btw, I noticed there are so many awards on the wall, all over the bakery... so impressive! I wish they had something like this in Orange County/California. I would go there everyday... so glad I went today and had a great experience. Definitely will go back when we're in town again.

Day before Christmas, line out the door, and yet everybody just strapped in and waited! This bakery is that good. I came in thinking I'd buy one thing and left with a box, sweet and savory both. Of what I've tried so far, it's hard to pick a favorite. The smoked pork sandwich was on a soft, salty focaccia-type bread. Plenty of pork and slaw. It disappeared very rapidly. I then chased it with an Americano and chocolate croissant. What to say about this croissant? Probably the flakiest I've ever eaten. Not even all that much chocolate, but just enough to keep you digging in. Nothing overdone about it. I'll be back!

Was visiting a friend who lives here who raves about Nathaniel Reid's kouign amann- and he did not lie. This is maybe one of the best I've ever had. Worth a trip for this alone. Everything else I tried was good or okay. The honey cheese focaccia (good balance of sweet and savory and very fluffy), orange almond cake (a little dense but loved the passionfruit glaze), and the Caia cake (pretty). Line is long but moves quickly. We had about a 10 min wait on a Saturday morning which is not bad at all. Some seating by the windows, but def a more grab and go type spot.

Read about this place when I was doing research and everyone on Reddit was recommending this place. Came here on a Thursday afternoon and walked out with $120 worth of goodies. The store is fairly small and there are lots of people there but the line moves fairly quickly. I got one of each cake, croissants, and some of the chocolates / goodies they sell on the side. The honey focaccia was good - light and fluffy - more cheesy than honey, I actually wish it was a touch sweeter. The chocolate croissant is probably the best I've ever had - better than the ones I had in Paris. It's pillowy soft and insanely flakey and perfect amount of sweetness. My friend said his savory croissant was life changing. I am going to grab a box and take it home to California with me - that's how good the chocolate croissant is.

Still the best pastry shop in the metro area! They're quick and efficient and the employees are pleasant to deal with. It's a very small storefront that can get kind of crowded, but they seem to have it down as far as getting people what they would like. I particularly enjoy their chocolate croissants. They also have a Waldorf chicken salad, croissant sandwich. That is quite good..

I feel very fancy right now. Greyere, yellow cheddar, Havarti, and Parmesan cheese, baked into this buttery crust is now floating around in my belly. You would feel fancy too. This is Nathaniel Reid bakery's four cheese quiche. We didn't stop there. We got a chocolate chip and pecan cookie and several macaroons. Two-time James Beard Awards semifinalist for Outstanding Baker (2019 and 2020). Sign yourself up and check this spot out. Also, as soon as you walk in the door, everyone behind the counter is greeting you. It's so nice to feel so welcome.

I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and the hardest part was making a choice! The almond croissant will change your life. The texture is absolute perfection. It's sweet, not too sweet, it was buttery and rich and unforgettable. The snickerdoodle might be the best snickerdoodle I've ever had and the chocolate croissant was just the right amount of chocolate. You really can't go wrong with anything they sell, and I can't wait to go back and try the panna cotta.

Nathaniel Reid is always such a solid choice for any of your bakery needs. I truly don't think I've had one thing from here that I haven't raved about. Their items are not only crafted with intent and professionalism, but they're absolutely beautiful and are so eye catching. I really enjoy their sandwiches for a special lunch, and obviously their sweet treats are to die for. Their almond croissants are what dreams are made of. I highly recommend any and all items! They also have an espresso machine. The ultimate afternoon pick me up spot!

Great service, fast and all smiles! Pastries were some of the best I have had and the berries cream was delicious. A must place to stop and try. Clean and very tidy

Nathaniel Reid Bakery is a hidden surprise I did not expect to find here! I am not always on the hunt for dessert but when I do, I want something that leaves an impression. And boy, did they ever! Not only was the vibe of this little bakery welcoming, but the workers at the counter were inviting and helpful and informative. I had ordered the Margo and Guyana. The Guyana is for anyone who loves chocolate! Rich and decadent chocolate moouse, chocolate creme brulee and a hazelnut croquant. Rich and dreamy and hitting all of those perfect little chocolate notes and the textures made it like uncovering buried treasure. The Margo, however, held my heart. I'm a macaron lover and this oversized french macaron was perfectly made over a filling of velvety soft strawberry Chantilly creme, with a raspberry-lemon confit. I made sure to take my time savoring this treat and this is something you will dream about over and over! If you haven't stopped by Nathaniel Reid, you are truly missing out!

Somehow always end up spending 100$ here because I want to try one of everything. Recommend getting their sandwiches heated up and eating right away instead of saving for later. Almond Chocolate croissant is very good although on the sweeter side of things - to be expected. Almost wish the location was bigger/had more seating area.

We have ordered to go items here several times. This last order was a big one, 20 croissants for my partners coworkers. He loves NR so much he wanted to share. I've also done a larger order for a birthday party of cookies. If you need a sweat treat, this is definitely the place to come! The line gets long on Saturdays, but they have enough employees to get you through very quickly.

The moment you step into Diana's, you're wrapped in the warm, sweet aroma of a traditional panadería -- fresh breads, sugar-topped pastries, and that unmistakable feeling that everything here is made con amor. The conchas are especially spectacular -- soft, lightly sweet, with that perfect sugary shell. Pair one with a cup of coffee and suddenly the whole morning feels like a little fiesta. I wanted to buy the wagon wheels (not sure if that's what they're actually called?) but they were plain! No cinnamon sugar on them. The service was pretty good! We didn't chat with anyone as we shopped but once we got to the counter, they were friendly and helpful. The line went by quickly and the atmosphere was warm and cozy. My compatriots also got several things and I'll add their reviews too! Cannoli - the filling had a gap in the middle and it was little disappointing. The filling was good. The shell was a bit thick. Pretty good overall. Cheesecake - not my favorite. Tasted good and the texture was perfect but not cream cheese-y enough for my liking. The chocolate version might be better. Giant meringue - really good! Nice and crumbly with a great taste. Wedding cookies - didn't taste like anything and they were super dry. Literally no almond flavor at all.
