Hank's Cheesecake has very delicious desserts. Unfortunately, there isn't one in west county. People would rather settle for the cheesecakes in the new Cheesecake Factory at West County Mall than drive to Richmond Heights. Hank might consider opening a store in the Chesterfield area as that area will experience a population spurt soon. Also just like other restaurants are producing smaller portions, the cheesecake slices have gotten much thinner. read more

Hank's Cheesecake is, without question, the best cheesecake I've ever had--and that's saying a lot, considering I'm from the Northeast and have traveled extensively. I honestly don't think there's a better cheesecake shop that I've encountered anywhere in my travels. The staff is generally very helpful and welcoming, with Lindsy in particular being a consistent standout at the front register over the years. I've been a loyal customer for a long time and have easily spent thousands of dollars on Hank's cheesecakes for both personal celebrations and professional events. The product itself has always been worth every penny. That said, I was disappointed to learn of the new policy charging $2 simply to slice a cheesecake. When purchasing a $25-$400+ cheesecake, an additional fee for a task that takes roughly 20 seconds feels unnecessary and, frankly, a bit off-putting. While I understand that rising costs are impacting businesses everywhere, this type of nickel-and-diming can feel discouraging--especially to long-standing, repeat customers who have consistently supported the business. Hank's Cheesecake remains exceptional, and the product is second to none. I hope management reconsiders this policy, as it slightly detracts from what has otherwise been an outstanding customer experience for many loyal patrons. read more

You can stop going to the Cheesecake Factory. Hank's has great variety and fresh, clean flavors. Banana pudding was my favorite. Very rich but nicely done. We came in to pickup a dessert for an anniversary dinner, and ended up trying a piece of cheesecake while we were there. The cheesecake was very good, although expensive, but good as an occasional treat. We were surprised to see that the cake was just cello wrapped to a cardboard disc. Sadly, I have been visiting Hank's for 26 yrs. I had not been there in over a year, but thought it's time to have another Turtle cheesecake that I have eaten so many times, succulently enjoying every bite. I met Hank, and his life long partner. Such a fine person and beyond delicious cheesecakes. However, the 7" Turtle cheesecake that I requested, has changed. I was shocked. It appeared dehydrated. I asked the girl helping me, " I did not see any freshly applied toppings, that used to be part of the beauty of Hank's extra special care given to his cheesecakes". She said, "Yes, the toppings are there". I saw a faint application of what appeared to be a topping previously applied. The Turtle cheesecake that I ordered was below mediocrity. for $39.00, 7", dehydrated cheesecake was less superior than Walmart. I am devastated! What was a legen, now less than Walmart. Your standards, destroyed. Maybe Hank needs to re-evaluate his quality that once was, is no longer. read more

A local legend. And honestly some of the best customer service I've ever seen. I don't even live in STL anymore, I went to send a friend a "treat" after a long day and opted to use Uber eats to have Hank's delivered. When they didn't have the item, they didn't cancel my Uber order (like most restaurants do). They called me, talked options and had the order ready for the driver to be delivered within 30 minutes. It simply reminded me how much I love their people as much I love their product and I hope that the St. Louis community continues to cherish Hank's in the way they deserve. Had a slice of Hank's caramel amaretto for my birthday. Of course, the phone did not eat first. But, the cheesecake was decadent. Much lighter than a lot of other cheesecakes out there which, in my opinion, was a welcome surprise. The saltiness of the caramel paired perfectly with the creaminess of the cheesecake. The amaretto adds a wonderful flavor that I cannot quite articulate. Delicious, nonetheless. The chocolatey crumb crust was also wonderful, I only wish it had a bit thicker layer to help its flavor shine through a bit more. Additionally, the single slice is a bit small, but that is okay. Awesome place! Finally had the pleasure of stopping in after Hanks has been on my list for years. We ordered 6 slices because we were quite literally overwhelmed by the huge selection. We got the banana pudding, tiramisu, chocolate chip, apple, German chocolate, and another one that I forgot lol. All were incredible! Surprisingly not the best cheesecake I've ever had. I got pumpkin, double chocolate, and banana pudding slices. All the slices were light and fluffy, which I like but they didn't have real strong flavors. Also, the crust on all 3 slices were paper thin. I'd prefer a thicker crust, especially the oreo crust on the double chocolate. The pumpkin was more of a pumpkin spice flavor than actual pumpkin unfortunately.
