From thick moist cookies like snickerdoodles, m&m and chocolate chip pecan, to jelly filled donuts and beautifully messy caramel pecan buns, this place is a great small bakery. What's really terrific are fresh cookie decorating kits for holidays

My favorite bakery in St. Louis! I have been coming here since I was a kid. Delicious holidays cookies and all around great bakery!

Fabulous birthday cake that one of my colleagues brought into the office. His birthday, not mine. A white sheet cake with very pretty icing, well decorated and tasty. A little flavor of almond extract in there that brought a lovely flavor. With a cup of coffee, a perfect breakfast if perhaps a bit sweet for my taste but it IS a birthday cake and others certainly appreciated it. [Review 19922 overall - 253 in Missouri - 895 of 2023.]

LOVE this old school bakery. We got my son's first birthday cake here and they did a great job! We did a quarter sheet cake and a smash cake for all under $65. We also love stopping here for treats! Easy to get in and out of and so affordable! Got a half dozen mini cookies for 65 cents!

We went around 10 on Saturday, they still had a great selection of donuts & pastries. We asked for recommendations since it was our first time there & the woman who helped us was so sweet & helpful! We got donut holes, a gooey butter breakfast bar, raspberry breakfast bar, chocolate long john, & a couple other things, all of which were so good!! They also had desserts- cookies & cakes. We didn't try any but they looked great.

Dear Bello's baker, Thank you so much for being a great local bakery. I love stopping in. I often purchase some pastries that are reminiscent of the old Scheiniemers bakery. However over the years the ones with the same name have evolved into something not quite as tasty. Most recently the nut roll turned into a 'breakfast nut roll' and lost its delicious white lather of frosting. Now it is a mere drizzle. The nut horn dough changed (not for the bettwith clayton bakery but has slowly reduced both its number of nuts and sugar topping. Do you have the original recipes from Schneimiers? Would you consider baking them again... please.

The former Clayton's Bakery set a standard for delicious baked goods. Now run by one of the Clayton Bakery Bakers. Mr. Beni Bello purchased the business and changed the name to Bello's Bakery. He has been professionally baking for 24 years. Rustic Coffee Cakes, Stoles, Iced Cookies, and Breads are my favorite items at Bello's. The Iced Cookies are a favorite to make children smile from ear to ear. I have also had Birthday Cakes from Bello's that everyone has enjoyed. If you order a Birthday Cake, ask about icing and filling options. It is best to place an order after the morning rush, when you can ask questions. If you are driving East on Manchester, Bello's is an easy stop. There is parking in front of the bakery as well as on the side.

Recreation of our wedding cake from 50 years ago.

Read our review guidelines Great We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary in December and I wanted a cake that was similar to the one we had at our reception. Bello's did a beautiful job of recreating my vintage wedding cake. The staff and decorator were so delightful to work with and they truly wanted to get it right! Not only was it right, it was delicious. You're rolling now - got any more to add? Post Review

I ordered a cake here for my daughters birthday and was so impressed. Not only did it look perfect but it tasted fantastic! I will definitely return for my cake needs and to try all of the other delicious bakery items!

I was excited to finally try this place even though I was warned about the baklavas being too dry. Sadly that's true. I dint think they are made fresh. They lack syrupy. I understand they don't have much food traffic but cutting down on the types of baklava and freshly making them should solve that problem. Probably the second worst baklava I've had out here. I see why they make shakes though. Since they don't sell ans have leftover stock. We initially sat down to eat but it was so awkward that there's no music and so quiet. My husband said they don't vacuum between the chairs which were full of crumbs. We eventually got our food to go. The second issue is the food. We got a sucuk flatbread and ans egg pide. This is not a pide, it's just pizza bread. Cheese is mozzarella, should have been beyaz cheese. Middle eastern cuisine doesn't use this cheese. My egg was raw and just throw in a corner. Could have saved myself money by just getting domino's, at least my food would be cooked. If you want quality, try Balkan treat box, Aya Sofia or Garbanzo. I would also like to state that there is one employee that works front and back. I didn't see him washing his hands once going back into the kitchen to handle my food. Seems like there a big hygiene issue

While my husband and I thought about our order, they got drinks started for us: an iced tea and a vanilla latte. We ended up with: smoked pork sandwich, prosciutto sandwich, caia (vanilla bean mousse cake), a chocolate croissant, a cheesy focaccia roll. The breads for the sandwiches were great and soft after being warmed up! My toddler loved the caia and refused to share with us. I liked their chocolate croissant and it would have been ideal with a hot cup of coffee. I highly recommend for literally all occasions!

Thankfully, they had all hands on deck so there was minimal time spent waiting. The woman who took my order was kind and patient as I struggled to select which kind of bread I wanted from their plethora of options. Although I came in undecided between a sandwich and one of their pastries, I opted for the former and a chocolate chip cookie. After waiting all of five minutes, my name was called and I was on my way. While the presentation of the sandwich wasn't the most appealing it def made up for it in taste. The egg was whole but cooked to perfection. Although I asked for cheddar, I was given white cheddar instead, which I was surprised because this was not told to me when I ordered. The sandwich was good, but I'll need to choose a different bread next time since it was quite mushy. The cookie was good and something I'd compare to tollhouse. It was incredibly soft but again, I was thrown off by the semisweet, almost dark chocolate chips. Nevertheless, it was still good and I'd get it again. Overall, this place reminds me of a Des Peres version of La Bonne Bouche. It's got ample seating, tons of pastries, and other cafe items. I'll def return.

A few of the employees -- people perhaps in their early 20s who did not appear to take their jobs as seriously as the cashier -- were engaged in a private conversation behind the counter. The cashier and customers had to wait a moment to get their attention about a menu item that had been discontinued, though the online menu we found had not been updated. We had a group of 8 people. We sat upstairs. I wasn't all over the setup of the space. Perhaps half of the seating is upstairs and the stairs have a bend/turn. The person bussing lost control of the tray. From what I could see, in her attempt to regain control of the tray, she fell and broke something or some glass cut her and she was bleeding quite a lot before she left for treatment. I think smaller trays may be in order, or a dumbwaiter, or perhaps an employee with better upper body control could do this task. Between that and a comment said by one of the waitstaff that I prefer not to repeat, I am hoping I caught them on an "off" day. We need more businesses like this one. The food was good, too, so I will return.
