Okay, it's safe to say that I am a fan of Polly's Diner and will continue to visit. Last weekend,…read morewhen I woke up, I was not in the mood to make breakfast. Instead, I wanted someone else to cook for me and I knew just the place! I suggest to my hubby that we visit Polly's Diner and he was all for it! When we arrived, we had to park out in the back (I really hope the parking lot can be updated or repaired in the future becuase right now, it's so bad), but that's not going to stop me! When we walked inside, we were greeted right away and they had a table available, so we were seated quickly! Our server was already offering coffee and water to us which was perfect. She gave us time to check the menu and since I already knew what I wanted, I helped my hubby make a decision since so many items were on his list. He eventually ordered the western skillet and I ordered the strawberry pancakes which I could not wait to eat! While we waited for our food, the server(s) on the floor were checking in with us and chatting with us ehile they refilled our coffee. Once the food arrived, I was so ready to dig in! My pancakes were topped with strawbery glaze and so many strawberries, I knew I would not be able to finish, but that didn't stop me from trying. I did eventually need to ask for a box and broght them home for later. My hubby said that the skillet was really good and had all his favorite food items included. It was such a good breakfast and honestly, for the price, we know we were fed well. Once we were done, we went to the counter to pay and were on our way. Polly's Diner is just a cute little Fenton restaurant and I am so glad that we have it so close to the house. I already plan to go again later this week!

The place is always busy when we are there, the waitstaff are hustling and friendly. Quick and efficient and getting the food out quickly. Eggs and hashbrowns are great, taste like eggs and hashbrowns. No strange oil used to cook them that overpowers the taste. Biscuits and gravy are peppered gravy and not sausage, they are great. Busy place, efficient and friendly, quick service, decent pricing and great breakfast!

The food was okay and the atmosphere was charming. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this place…read moreif you want to enjoy a slower meal with company. I went with two friends on a Sunday at 9am and the whole experience felt rushed from the beginning. I do think this was partly because you do not have a dedicated server which sounds nice in theory. We were asked if we were ready to order multiple times, by multiple people in just a few minutes. My friend was then asked if they could clear her plate at least 10 times because she was not actively eating. By the last time it was almost comical and she ended up apologizing to the server and asked for a few more minutes as she is a slower eater and takes breaks. Dedicated sections for servers would go a long way here.

The restaurant was packed and had a line (for good reason)! Once seated, our server checked on us frequently and listed their specials soundly. I opted for the sandwich special of the day, the Monte cristo, and my partner got one of the Benedict's. We split the special waffles of the day, the French toast waffle. We also both got a good drink with our meal. The Monte Cristo was perfectly sweet and savory. Incredible potion sizing for the price and a delicious plate. The French toast waffle was insane. Such a perfect sweet treat to finish our meal!

TL;dr version- loved this place and will make regular appearances here…read more I have no idea why we haven't been here yet. Now that we have, it's going to the top of our regular rotation of breakfast places. Homey atmosphere, plenty of tables and bar seating (no alcohol). Busy but not too busy. We sat at the bar. The staff were so friendly. The menu is just big enough to have a good selection without being overwhelming (no one needs a 10 page menu). The prices were outstanding. We looked at the menu online ahead of time and thought it must be an outdated menu with outdated prices. Nope. We both got the Big Biscuit Breakfast. Yep, it was big. It took a little bit to come out, but we were in no hurry, so that was fine. It was sooo good. I appreciate the generous serving of gravy. The hashbrowns were cooked perfectly- not too crispy, not too soggy. We didn't get any drinks besides water, but we had a front row seat watching them being made. I wish I had room for one, because they looked spectacular. We had a decent amount leftover to take home for tomorrow's breakfast. The bartender offered to make us water cups for the road (a really nice extra touch). The place looked clean and put together nicely. Can't wait to go back and try their lunch.

The staff were very friendly and efficient. The owner was very welcoming! The biscuits are delicious and there are a variety of breakfast and lunch items to choose from.
