i was walking along the strip craving macaroons. i stopped in and they had a large selection and they were all gluten free. they even sold broken ones for 1.50 i got 3. the spicy marg, carrot cake, and marshmallow peep. the spicy marg was supposed to be boozy and i didn't get any hint of tequila or alcohol, good nonetheless. such a good steal. the inside of this shop was also so cute! the flower design on the stairs was my fave. they don't have any seating inside just a small bench outside. the workers were super sweet as well.

    Cake and cupcakes

I ordered a 2-tier custom cake and cupcakes for my parents'50th wedding anniversary party. I communicated through email, sending photos for reference and inspiration and asking and answering questions. The cake was absolutely perfect and exactly what we wanted and expected. It and the cupcakes were delicious and everyone at the party loved them. We had several people ask where we got the cake from and we were thrilled to refer them to Sugar and Slice! We would absolutely order from this bakery again! Note: the pickup is at their sister location, Lydia's, on the South River Road. It's a beautiful, welcoming coffee shop/bistro that is definitely worth a visit!

Should be named slice of heaven.. Italian macaroons, cheese cake, cupcakes, brownies and so much more to choose from! They had a smore brookie like thing and wow it was fan-tab-ulous. Sadly my dog decided he wanted to be on the table and got the other half of it. So I went back and got a brownie and wow those brownies are magical (no they're clean people) just large portions, inch or more thickness and chewy!!! I've also had multiple pieces of cheese cake and numerous macaroons over the last year. Secretly this spot is my fav on Main Street for a latte! They have white chocolate raspberry which is hard to find. However, they do sliced lattes so you can get two lattes in one cup. The staff is always so very helpful, kind and knowledgeable. I cannot wait to check out their new space they opened as well. This stunning locally women owned business is just one of my favorites! Also, they do cakes and pies. I brought their homemade cinnamon rolls to Easter last year.

Sugar & Slice is an amazing small business to support. Not only are their regular bakery items amazing (my favorites are the macaroons and oatmeal cream pies) but their personal custom orders are somehow even more intentional and beautiful!

This place is a must stop when on Main St Saint Charles! They have such a great selection of different baked goods and drinks, rotating based on the season. I always make my way here when I'm in the area and every pick has been delicious. The service is quick for drinks and every seasonal latte I've tried has been so tasty.

My apologies in advance as the aesthetics of our goodies were compromised due to traffic. Fortunately, the flavor was unencumbered. Nestled on the cobblestone laden streets of St. Charles, Sugar and Slice serves up some of the best pastries in the St. Louis metropolitan area. Sugar and Slice is a small shop that only holds about 12 people and often has lines out the door. You walk in and are welcomed by the sweet smells of sweets and coffee. Their entire menu is laid out for you to gaze upon. And, in doing so, perfectly epitomizes the paradox of choice. With so many options we always make sure we snag a few different treats. My absolute favorite thus far is their take on a little debbie oatmeal creme pie. Additionally, the macaroons are always a crowd favorite. Light, airy, with just the perfect crisp. And the filling? So creamy and decadent. There is no telling how many I could put down in one sitting. Their cookies and cupcakes are also to die for. Same with their cheesecakes. I do not want to belabor as you need to try for yourself. But, when you go, make sure you get macaroons, a cupcake, and a cookie. Just as is the case with any good bakery, the workers are as sweet as the treats. They are all bubbly and eager to serve. Per usual, Sugar and Slice knocked it out of the park. I cannot wait to get back and see what sorts of creations they will have waiting to try!

I'm so beyond happy with finding this bakery! We planned a family trip to the area and I needed a custom cake for my husband's 40th birthday. I ordered a month or so in advance and sent a reference photo and description. I was beyond happy with the results. I asked for a number cake, candied maple bacon with salted caramel buttercream. Everyone loved the uniqueness of the cake and got a kick out of the bacon! It was a hit. So I arrived the day I needed to pick up and the owner discovered I needed to take it to a restaurant. She quickly volunteered to deliver it for us since she had to bring desserts over there. Everything worked out perfect! Thank you times a million!! I also stopped in and got one of their giant cookies. Fig honey pecan. Wow was that ever delicious!! The shop itself is absolutely adorable inside too.

Who doesn't deserve a treat? I know I do! And it's very difficult to resist the treats at Sugar and Slice Bakery! For sure don't follow them on Instagram unless you want to be tempted alllll the time! I think I got a good assortment- sour peach macaron, brown sugar Nutella cookie and a chocolate peanut butter cupcake for dessert (does dessert have a dessert?)....but trust me, there were about 10 more things I wanted to try. My cookie was fresh and chewy and a flavor I hadn't encountered before. My only feedback is more Nutella because who DOESN'T need more Nutella? I wish I could speak to the flavor of the sour peach macaron but I got two, one for my dad, one for me but he wouldn't share! Stinker. Which left me with my chocolate peanut butter cupcake and I'm not complaining! It was so good! I'll be back....and you should def stop in!

Walking on Main Street I decided to stop and see what they had. I'm happy I did . This place is so cute and the location is perfect. The two ladies were friendly and helpful. I ordered two cupcakes that were delicious. Red velvet Oreo and chocolate lover. Delicious, no complaints. Prices were reasonable. I will definitely go back.

From owner to bakers and everyone in-between the staff here is very friendly! They also know what they're doing when it comes to baked goods. First... I'll say it... BEST cookies around. Hands down. Large and delicious. Second... nailed our desserts at our wedding! They looked and tasted incredible and were each so delicately made! We requested a non-traditional cookie cake and it was great, but they also make some of the most creative and delicious cakes in general! Can't beat the fun store front, either!

I came here the other day and was so wowed by it. Just walking inside was beautiful. The staff was friendly and it was just a tiny little shop with outdoor seating on the side. They had so many colors and options. It was the end of the day so they probably have more things. They make crazy kinds of macrons and even sell their broken ones for cheaper. They have gluten free options but they are still working on making more things gluten free. What really caught my eye was the cookie dough push pops. It's hard to push up but the issue is, I was hoping it would be colder and smoother. It was hard to push up. They had moon pies, cheesecakes, brownies and cookies. Everything was beautiful. Especially their cakes! They're one of a kind. They even have coffee. Defiantly a place to check out.

Cute little bakery right on Main street. The pumpkin whoopie pie with caramel pecan filling was soft and delicious! The Gouda pesto brioche roll was savory and cheesy. There's an outdoor area across the street with tables and benches where you can enjoy your sweet treats. Farm animal cupcakes

Amazing job by the ladies that decorated our farm animal cupcakes. We had regular and gluten free, and they were both delicious. I would highly recommend Sugar and Slice for your bakery needs.

And you can tell, by peering into the cases, the time and passion it took to make everything. It was presentable, colorful, decadent, and difficult to choose any one thing because I wanted to sample it all. From the rosemary goat cheese quiche, to the Hummingbird cake, to slices of pie. I opted to try the macarons. They are my favorite thing. Their macarons are lovely. Just the right amount of crisp and give, the texture has a great chew, and fillings were delicious. Hands down going to become a place I go for macarons. The German Apple Cheesecake was also stellar, just enough tart and sweet to provide balance. I will return to try other things and if you're in the area, check them out!

I spent the better of my college years perfecting the macaron and making all kinds of french pastries, putting in endless hours. Years later, with no time for that, I find myself with a macaron subscription - 10 a month to be exact. The deliveries from Le Nouveau Macaron are gorgeous. They are packaged beautifully, the macarons are decorated so eloquently, and they taste pretty good. I also like the combinations with some savory flavors. I just have a few suggestions or criticisms: - The subscription comes with an 'extra' item, like a little tart. While these are quite exciting to receive and look lovely, I've found them all to be extra sweet or just too much. For example, a lemon tart but with buttercream icing on top. A lemon tart is already extremely sweet and, if anything, needs a neutral topping like whipped cream, but I would say nothing at all. - The macaron cookies are sometimes too thin and seem to not have much interior. They can look thin from the side and there is not much in the bite. - The filling can sometimes be too thick for the size of the cookie. To me, the macaron can have an obvious ratio discrepancy just by looking at it (MAXIMUM 1/3 should be filling, max). It looks like mostly filling and very little cookie. Generally when it looks like that, it also tastes like that. I think the main thing is that some of the tastes are just overly sweet. Too much filling that's sweet, or in the cases of other pastries, too much sweet stuff. French pastries are generally my favorite because they are not usually overly sweet. I would like to see some offerings here that are a little less sweet and a little thicker macaron cookie. But I'ma keep on ordering!

While I have some favorites, I have also enjoyed the exploration of flavors they have brought to my palate. I has not considered savory Macarons, or some of the combinations that have been made, but to my surprise I have found new favorites. The Basil and white chocolate macaron, paired with tomato was one of those that became a new favorite. Another part I have enjoyed is the seasonal nature of the flavors selected for each month. I love the international flavors (Ube Macarons are also a favorite of mine). I love the classic and novel approaches used in the macaron creation. It has brought fun and excitement I look forward to experiencing each month. Try them, you will love them too!
