I was really disappointed with the gender reveal cake we ordered. When I called on Tuesday, I was specifically told that the inside cake color would reveal the gender, not just the icing/filling - but that's not what we received. Once we cut into it, you could barely even tell it was pink, which completely defeated the point of a gender reveal cake. On top of that, the cake itself was poorly made. Looking at the inside and even the outside edges, it appears like cake scraps/crumbs were used to piece parts of it together. For a special event cake, this was really disappointing both in appearance and execution. I normally try to be understanding, but this was for an important moment and it simply did not match what was promised. read more

They did my son's first birthday cake and it was amazing. Our theme was Space Jam and they crushed it. Communication was easy, I just sent them an inspo picture and they made it happen. When we picked up the cake, we had to snag a cinnamon roll which was amazing. read more

Don't know how we lived in OFallon all these years and not been here before. What a great shop! Birthday cakes, ice cream cakes, cupcakes, all kinds of sweet treats. The cakes are wonderful. We got the almond with raspberry for birthday celebration which everyone loved. We also got some cannoli cups which my wife can't stop talking about. Service was fast and super friendly. We will definitely be back!! read more

This review is for the cupcakes being supplied from this bakery to Go Play in Chesterfield. I purchased a vanilla and chocolate cupcake from the concessions stand at Go Play. The business card said the cupcakes were from Sweet Spot Cake Shoppe in O'Fallon. I thought coming from a bakery, the cupcakes would be good, but boy was I wrong! I didn't know how much they were going to cost because there was no sign. I didn't know until I was checked out that they were over $15 for 2 cupcakes! That is literally highway robbery! I really wanted to pass on the sale, but felt bad doing that since they were already out on a plate for me. Only Jilly's cupcakes are $7 each, and those cupcakes actually deserve that price because they taste amazing, are huge, and are wonderfully decorated. These cupcakes did not taste good and were decorated like an amateur. Both cupcakes were dry and tasted like store bought cake from Schnucks. read more

OMG!!! They look amazing-and of course, tastes amazing! The workers were soo nice and super helpful. Im definaltely getting these cupcakes for my bday next year too. read more

Everything tastes good here. We recently ordered a cake and my daughter wanted her cat "drawn" on the cake rather than just a picture printed. They did fantastic. read more

We ate everything before I could take pics. Blueberry cakes were awesome! Sadly closed tomorrow so I have to wait to get more! Cream cheese brownies were soft & decadent. Can't wait for pumpkin treats to hit in a couple of weeks. read more

My boyfriend got me this cake for my birthday! It was super moist and the flavor was delicious. It was a classic vanilla cake with whipped cream frosting. My family loved it so much that they want me to order a cake to bring to my grandmas birthday celebration an hour and a half away! read more

First time here. Place looks very clean. About 6-8 varieties of cupcakes available to purchase, some cakes and cookies. You probably do better ordering what you want. Cupcakes are $3.99 each. We got 4 different ones. Was hoping for red velvet cupcakes or a slice of cheesecake but none was available. The employee that took care of us seemed like she was in a rush. It could have been the owner not sure but she was in a rush to get us out of there so we chose our cupcakes rapidly and got out. I wanted more information about cheesecakes to try it and the red velvet, the cheesecake she said that sometimes they have them in the morning I ask her so I have to come early in the morning to get and try it by a slice to try it and she said oh we usually have them there but we don't have any right now so she didn't give me a straight answer. I was confused but again she was rushing, maybe had something in the oven in the back, unfortunately her attitude came out as rude. I just paid and got out. She didn't sound inviting even though we told her it was our first time there. The cupcake I tried was really good. They are fresh and taste delicious. Also, there's no place to sit and eat there. You will have to purchase and leave. read more

Best donuts and Sandwiches. My. Favorites are cinnamon twist, cake with chocolate icing and glazed. Yes, it's a sweet shop, but their burgers are the best, cooked to order with fresh toppings... better than any $20 burger in restaurants. read more

Ordered a cookie cake for my daughters birthday and it was absolutely delicious!! We are picky about our cookie cakes and this one had us coming back again and again. We are going to see if we can request buttercream icing next time, and if so, I think that will put this one at number one we've ever had! In addition, it was very easy to order, they were quick to respond to my email and get an example together, and the final product turned out exactly as described. We will definitely be back for future celebrations! read more

I debated posting this review, but the defensive and down right condescending behavior the owner displayed when concern was expressed about the quality of this cake was disturbing. At this point, all we can hope for is that this lady has the day she deserves. read more

Wonderful ice cream cake for my daughter's birthday. Friendly service as well. I will return.

I am new to this area and I was looking for a place that sold cake by the slice. I called in advance and this place does not sell cake by the slice. I went in anyway since they had cupcakes as my goal was to see if their buttercream icing was good. I don't like sprinkles and they were kind enough to ice a cupcake for me right then as I waited. I tried a vanilla cupcake with white icing and a chocolate/ chocolate cupcake. The icing was good but I could tell the cake was old. It tasted like it had been sitting for a few days. Not sure I would go back for cupcakes but I would imagine their cake would be much fresher. read more

Great service even when they are extremely busy. There is a large variety of donuts to choose from. It's like an old fashion mom and pop donut shop of days gone by. You can't go wrong. read more

Went there to buy a birthday cake. Ended up buying their "signature" white cake with salted caramel and butter cream icing. Thinking an 8 inch "signature" cake at $45 was going to be amazing, I was excited to serve it after dinner. Instead, this cake was terrible! The icing was good, but the cake tasted old, dry and over baked. So disappointed. Really wanted to love this bakery, but will never buy from here again. read more

This is go-to bakery in St.Louis. They have added new and tasty ideas to old menu items...their cannoli's, pies, and cupcakes are the best. Their ice cream cakes are the amazing and their cheesecake is perfect! If you live anywhere near St.Louis, you have to stop in! read more

Ordered cupcakes for a wedding shower, absolutely gorgeously decorated to match the brides colors, and delicious to boot.

I was telling my husband about how I always loved wedding cake from back in the day because it was always white cake with almond buttercream icing. DROOL. I CRAVE that cake but never seem to find it anywhere and I said it was the type of cake I wished I could have for my birthday. My husband called up Sweet Spot Cake Shoppe and they told him they could make an almond cake (which I don't see on their menu, but I imagine was maybe a custom cake?). IT. WAS. SO. GOOD. Soo moist and flavorful and delicious. Also, he called and ordered it for two days later and they were able to squeeze us in, which I think is really awesome. So Sweet Spot has helped me fulfill a craving I've had since I was that 10 year old kid (I won't tell you my age but let me tell you, the birthday I celebrated had a 5 at the beginning!) So, thank you to Sweet Spot Cake Shoppe for helping me celebrate with the perfect cake! We are return customers and will continue to purchase yummy baked goodies here. read more

I don't know why there are only two reviews for this little gem but I think it's wonderful! I randomly stopped here craving something sweet and ended up leaving with so much more than I came for. This place is our new go-to! They often have fresh baked bread that my girls love for avocado toast. I often bring my kids here for a treat.
