Chocolate cupcake and a cherry cupcake!
    Mandie B.

Have you ever had a cherry cupcake? Me either. Would I have one again? Yes. I am not sure if I enjoyed it as much as I had hoped, but it was light and airy and the icing was whipped and fluffy. The flavor was just like a cherry. How did they do that? I would like to order one again just because it has me thinking about it 2 days later. When I arrived to a food truck event I was excited to see Destination Desserts as an option. Of course, I waited too long to order dessert and so by the time I arrived they only had 2 flavors; chocolate and cherry. I chose 1 of each and paid $5 for the 2 cupcakes. They packaged them into their own little cases and put them in a bag for me. How nice! By the time I got home that afternoon I needed to try them. I took a bit of the cherry first and then I took another bite of the cherry. It was sweet and different. I then decided to try the chocolate. It was a good cupcake. Moist and flavorful. The chocolate was not over-powering and just sweet enough. I then packaged them up and waited for my fiance to get home since I know he needed a sweet treat too. He definitely passed on the cherry cupcake and chose the chocolate one. I think we each enjoyed out cupcakes. They also have gooey butter cakes and brownies if cupcakes are not your thing!

Yesterday I was lucky enough to visit the Destination Desserts food truck as it was parked in my office park, while standing in line I quickly learned that this is a 100% Non-Profit organization and all proceeds going to support the nationally recognized Center for Head Injury Services. The Center for Head Injury Services was first started in 1986 to me the need of people surviving a brain injury, and has since evolved to support people with brain injuries, autism, and other disabilities lead full and productive lives. In addition to helping people the charity is based right in our hometown. Now the food truck serves a variety of sweet treats ranging from cupcakes, cakes, and cookies. I was tempted by the cupcakes however I couldn't resist the large slice of Gooey Butter Cake. Once I got it back to the office I could hardly wait to try it, and let me tell you it tasted as good as it looked. In addition, they also sell Wag's in a Bag, which are all natural dog treats, and I figured if I was treating myself I have to get something for my little four legged friend at home, so I went with a small bag of their Peanut Butter & Bacon treats. Overall it is great to see a charity offering up some delicious treats all while helping with a great cause, kudos to everyone at the CHIJ and keep up the great work!

If they had everything they advertised then 5 stars. The display looked great. The cookies and cupcakes were even better. Reasonably priced. Great service. They worked the line quickly and efficiently. I got a cupcake and a smoothie, friend got a few cookies. Great combination.

Bought basic snickerdoodle cookies - they were the worst I've ever had. Very dry, hard, and flavorless.

The hot chicken sandwich was not only incredibly thick and juicy, but the crust was crispy without being overwhelming or too much breading. I loved the spicy sauce that was used to make it hot chicken and somehow it didn't make the sandwich soggy at all. The slaw was more of a vinegar base, so it didn't weight it down with a heavy creamy flavor. Also the pickles were heavenly and I want to eat them on EVERYTHING. Moving onto the handcut, double fried fries. They were crispy and such a delight to see on a food truck, as far too often you get sad, pre-frozen fries. These were phenomenal and we ate every single one of them! You can practically taste the quality through the photos, they're everything and more than you'd imagine. I can't wait to try more things ASAP!

The fries are what I would go back for since they were really the best part of the meal. The chicken sandwich was just okay for me. I think the flavor was lacking, but the chicken was moist and the breading was crunchy; I just wish it had a little more flavor. My husband had the Nashville hot chicken and said that it was just not as hot as he had hoped. This is a good option for a food truck and I would go back to order again in hopes that the flavor would be better next time!

Walking through the office today I caught the smell of delicious smoked goodness and instantly wanted some for myself. I can't tell you how happy I was to find that the aroma that caused me to lose track of my engineering responsibilities was located directly outside the front door to the building. This was my 2nd time to get a mouth watering BBQ sandwich from The Southerner. The folks running the truck are always more than helpful and provide a meal that's a good value proposition. Quality, quantity and price seem to be well balanced. Albeit a tad bit on the expensive side. Look to spend about $12 for a sandwich and side. The turkey, brisket and sausage are all great. The brisket is pulled not sliced or chopped. It makes for a great tasting sandwich that doesn't need much sauce at all. Although the sauce is pretty darn good they get 5 stars for not needing it.

Note: your group has to be all-or-nothing for ordering from the menu or the AYCE. The children's discount only applies to kids aged 4-7. None of this impacted our group, as we were all-in as adults for AYCE. We picked the standard package. Premium basically includes options for kabli and shrimp. The meat choices were plentiful (you can pick two options per round). Side dishes, shared soups, rice and lettuce were all plentiful and tasty. Service was constant, with them asking what we needed more of, and checking if we were ready for another round of grilling meats. We got a couple more rounds of the meats, and got plenty of refills on rice, lettuce and sides as needed. Everything was great. We got the beef bulgogi three times, because, you know, it's beef bulgogi. Got the thin-sliced brisket (unseasoned), pork bulgogi (spicy) and marinated steak, as well. It was all very good. Great experience, we left stuffed to the gills.

If it were cold outside, it would have been perfect. The service was friendly, but when it came time to pay we didn't know if it was pay upfront or a check was brought out. Also: no vents?? Definitely be aware of that when you go and drive to your next stop with the windows down lol

I wasn't sure what to order, but the friendly staff recommended that I have the brisket, and I'm so glad I heeded their advice. The brisket sandwich was the most tender meat that I have ever had. I had never had brisket before having that sandwich, now my mouth waters any time I talk about this restaurant! The cole slaw that I had as a side provided the perfect crunch and balance. My mate had the pulled pork sandwich, which was also very tender. I also loved having a variety of barbecue sauces on the table and was able to try each one. Everyone has a preference, I'm sure, but after trying each one, I am completely sold on the Carolina gold. Also, I do not typically have a fountain soda, but the cola that was on tap was some of the best that I'd ever tasted. 10 out of 10 for Sugarfire, and I will definitely be returning the next time I'm in St. Louis!

The giant pig statue in front of the restaurant was actually quite informative, as it described where the meat comes from on a pig. Anyway, as I entered the restaurant, I stood in line. It was quite busy for a Saturday afternoon. There are long tables with many seats, so seating wasn't an issue. It is a first come first served dining situation. I ordered the 2-meat plate: brisket, ribs, baked beans, and potato salad. The brisket and the sides were definitely my favorite parts. The brisket was so tender, it basically fell apart in my hands! It was delicious! The baked beans were tangy and sweet, and the potato salad was creamy. I didn't like the ribs, they were very dry and definitely not worth the money. The barbecue sauces are in bottles on the table; my personal favorite was the Honey Badger, sweet with a little bit of heat. I found the Coffee BBQ sauce to be the most interesting; I have never had anything like it before. The coffee notes were subtle and helped balance out the smoky flavors. While I enjoyed the majority of my food, I am not sure if I will be returning. It was a nice experience, but the dry ribs left me feeling disappointed.
