Tried this new bakery for the first time today and grabbed a few items to go. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the hype. I got their mango croissant, and it was honestly disappointing--it seemed like a Costco croissant filled with some cream, not something freshly made in-house. Definitely not what I expected for $4.

Olive Bakery was such a fun find. It's kind of funny because now that all the Korean bakeries have gotten super popular, it feels like the Chinese ones are starting to pop up too. I went for the first time and tried a bunch of stuff because I couldn't decide. The Japanese cheesecake was really airy and light, not too sweet, and had a nice subtle flavor. Definitely a 9/10. The light cheesecake was way thicker and had a perfect rich cheesecake taste. 10/10 easily. The tiramisu was soft and creamy with a strong coffee flavor, super good, like an 8/10. The mango cup was fresh and creamy too, kind of refreshing, also an 8/10. the boba? 10/10. It's a great little spot with a lot of potential. I'd come back, maybe earlier in the day next time to catch more of the freshly baked stuff.

Another delicious Asian bakery with a great selections and friendly staff! We really enjoyed the mochi donuts and the kids loved it!

We went here around 1030 am on a weekday, it has most of their pastries in stock. I liked their purple yam bun a lot, great amount of real purple yam filling and the bread you can tell was freshly bake that day. The red bean bun was decent in filling. The mango cloud cup was great with little bites of mango chunks. The taro bread was decent, however i like the purple yam bread more. I also go for the custard bread, however here they do not have this yet. They said they will in the future.

Stopped by around 11am and there were lots of pastry and baked goods to select from. The bakery is big with some seating for people to enjoy in store. Service was fast since there were only a couple of guests. I got a Ube roll which didn't make it to photo cuz it was sooo good!!! The milk tea is good, boba was chewy and has a nice sweet to it. You can lower the sweetness level too! Only thing I didn't like was the parking lot has a weird laying speed hump.

A new asian bakery right on Olive! I went on a Sunday afternoon and bought a few pastry items and a mango yakult drink. It's a self serve style where you take a tray and tongs and choose bread from the case. They have a few sweet and savory options. I forgot to take a picture of the items I got but the mochi donut was great! There's a large parking lot and some seating inside. It wasn't too crowded on a Sunday afternoon. My only wish is that they had more selection and greater variety.

I woke up today and wanted to go to a bakery. I found this bakery on Google maps and it seemed to new and I wanted to try it out. It's in an area of the city. I don't go to a lot, but I was happy to see that there was a big parking lot with plenty of spots right out front. When you go in, there's a cabinet with baked goods that you have to ask for the cabinet where you can grab what you want. I only got the one donut from the grab and go section. They had a bunch of different flavors of mochi donuts. The mochi donut was delicious and not too sweet, which is how I feel like most donuts are. He was super clean inside and very easy to understand what to do. The service was pretty quick. There were some other people there dining in their seating section. I would come here again if I wanted a reasonably priced baked good.

Great! I went on a Wednesday after work (so about 5/6pm) and they didn't have many buns. I was looking for more savory buns options, but they only had two hotdog scallion buns and a few crab puff buns left. The rest were sweet buns (mochi donuts, croissants, and other pastries). The concept is simple, you get a tray and some tongs, then you look around the displays for whatever buns you want! I checked out, the ladies were nice, and got my order right. Inside was fairly quiet (guessing it being a weekday evening). And there are a few tables to sit with your friends and have a few buns. Overall prices are decent (ranging from $2.50+) and I would definitely go back for more buns!

Yay for another Asian bakery, which are soft, fluffy, sweet and savory options that complement perfectly with a good cup of boba tea or coffee. This store is in the plaza right across the street from Olive Supermarket with convenient parking. I visited on a weekday around 2pm and it was empty. The store is clean, newly renovated, simple decor and a good menu option. I got their hot Morning Latte (coffee and tea mixed) and a couple pork floss bakeries. All was authentic and delicious; I'll be coming back when we are in the area!

We LOVE Olive Bakery the breads are so fresh and soft and there's a lot of variety to choose from. We've been a few times on weekends and they are constantly stocking the shelves. Compared to TLJ, their prices are lower, they have different bread types (bbq pork buns, snow cheese buns, tuna buns, etc), and in our opinion, the drinks and cakes aren't as good as TLJ. However, cube tea studio is right next door! Very convenient to shop at the Olive supermarket and drop by to get some treats in this strip. There are a few tables and sofa chairs to sit at inside but they fill up quick.

Olive Bakery on Olive Blvd is a fantastic addition to the University City Asian food scene. It captures the authentic self-serve bakery experience perfectly: you grab a tray and tongs and browse rows of freshly baked goods. The space is bright and modern. Service was warm and efficient.

This is my favorite new bakery in STL. The prices are super reasonable, everything was fresh, decent selection and seating for eat-in. Favorites were the mochi donuts, cream bun, bubble tea.. scratch that, I loved everything I tried and you will too!!!

Olive Bakery is a nice addition to the Asian Bakery scene in St. Louis. The store front is spacious and bright. I like that they offer a good variety of pastries as well as desserts. They also have an interesting drink menu for you to choose. Similar to other Asian bakery, you come in, grab a tray and pick your own items and then go up to the registry to pay. The price is actually pretty reasonable with the majority falls under $5 with some exceptions. I enjoyed the items that I tried so far. The Japanese cheesecake is pretty decent. Korean sesame mochi was good. The texture is a little hard but the flavor is addicting. The Hokkaido milk bun was my favorite. It was super soft and milky. Highly recommend you trying out these items. I haven't tried the drinks so I need to come back. The staff were friendly.

Bun selection - we tried the scallion, red bean, bacon cheese, and milky pineapple

The flavors are plentiful, the creativity is unmatched, and the quality of the ingredients is truly unrivaled. I honestly don't think there's a better cheesecake shop that I've encountered anywhere in my travels. The staff is generally very helpful and welcoming, with Lindsy in particular being a consistent standout at the front register over the years. I've been a loyal customer for a long time and have easily spent thousands of dollars on Hank's cheesecakes for both personal celebrations and professional events. The product itself has always been worth every penny. That said, I was disappointed to learn of the new policy charging $2 simply to slice a cheesecake. When purchasing a $25-$400+ cheesecake, an additional fee for a task that takes roughly 20 seconds feels unnecessary and, frankly, a bit off-putting. While I understand that rising costs are impacting businesses everywhere, this type of nickel-and-diming can feel discouraging--especially to long-standing, repeat customers who have consistently supported the business. Hank's Cheesecake remains exceptional, and the product is second to none. I hope management reconsiders this policy, as it slightly detracts from what has otherwise been an outstanding customer experience for many loyal patrons.

Some place where I could print off copies of my zine about protecting the environment by committing minor acts of terrorism in America's forests? Turns out, it's a place where you can listen to truly random vinyl records while eating burritos entirely too good to be available in Clayton. Nothing about the latter says this part of town except for the price, which is almost like someone's cruel idea of a joke. I'd suggest that they're the best breakfast burritos available anywhere in the area, but what do I know? I've been eating breakfast burritos since the Reagan administration, when they were invented (as far as I know), but mostly of the microwavable variety. They have the potential to be the best food possible, because they combine the two other best foods, breakfast sandwiches and Mexican food, but no one seems to put any real effort into them. They're less likely than their lunch/dinner counterpart to cause gastrointestinal distress. People suspect that the reason Chipotle gives you the runs roughly every third time you visit is because of the cilantro, which is impossible to wash, but I heard it's really the lettuce. Never get lettuce on a burrito from Chipotle. If you're getting one of those bowls, why are you even going to Chipotle? You're probably already fat, and not eating a tortilla is not going to make a difference. But I digress. Upshot is primarily a coffee shop, and I think it's generally well regarded as far as that's concerned, though I'm no expert. I drink a nice, stiff six cups or so of whatever's on sale first thing in the morning and it usually ends up being the highlight of my day. I don't need any coffee in addition to that. I might get nervous. I've had luck lately with the seasonal selections at other local coffee shops that I've visited, so I figured I'd take my chances with an iced strawberry matcha latte. It seemed like it would be nice and refreshing after getting in a few miles with the homies, and damn it if it didn't hit the spot. You could see the actual seeds in it from where they must have crushed up an actual strawberry to make it, thus justifying the price, at least as far as they're concerned. They spared no expense with the burrito either. It's filled with surprisingly large chunks of bacon and avocado. Can they afford to give you more bacon because they don't cook it to the point where it starts to shrink? I like it when it's still kinda chewy, but I'm sure many would beg to differ. That must be how bacon is served in Clayton. They don't have the lovable old James bring it out to you, but I can understand, with this being 2026. It's not the lengthiest tortilla in the world, but it's stuffed to nearly overflowing with eggs, cheese, potatoes and what have you. I'd suggest bringing a date just to see if she could wrap her lips around it, but who's got that kind of money? It would have to be someone you've already been out with a few times, who's with the program, so to speak.
